Everyone that is born and raised in TZ speak Swahili as their mother tongue. I swear, nowhere in the world have Arabs assimilated into the local population as they have in East Africa. its quite impressive when you compare them to the North African Arabs for example.

Kk. So, does that mean that no Tanzanian speaks his/her native languages as a first language other than swahili? If yes, then the native languages must be going extinct?

Simply beautiful!
The man upper cloth can't be match by others. The ladies and their dress are beautiful.

If I've to choose the most beautiful, I will go with the man and last girl.

From which material is the men upper cloth made of?
Do some neighboring countries also wear it?

And also let me show you the Afar people(they live largely in Ethiopia and in small number in Eritrea and Djibouti).

Thanks.
Well, most neighbouring Nigerian countries do not really have a variety of African clothes like Nigeria buh they still do wear. Nigerians we developed ours far better than theirs.
The man's upper cloth, hmm, well i'm not sure the material it was made of. Cos we have many of such materials n also import many.

****Here are some samples of cultural clothes of other west africans. Ednited check them out.

The reality is that Middle Belt has the power to decide who becomes Nigerias President, it is not the Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani or Igbo.
But the Arewa group has effectively made the Middle Belt not to realize the enormous powers in their hands to change the course of Nigeria by craftily refering to them as NORTH CENTRAL. All Northern Christians and minority tribes should reject the appelation called North Central and stick to that bitter word to the Hausa and Fulani Middle Belt

You have said nothing buh the truth.
Most middlebelters n northern christians used to be mostly illiterate in the past just like most hausa-fulanis, so they knew nothing, but over the years we have seen great improvements.

A lot of our youths are not happy about the stupid name NORTH CENTRAL which robbs us of our identity, and very soon we will form groups to come out, enlighten our people and fight against that nonsense.

****We have to develop something similar to IPOB. Lol

Many northern minorities are still under Hausa-fulani dominated states and do not have a voice or political freedom of their own.

If southern politicians have sense ...impower this northern minorities with power ..this will dislodge the power of the Hausa Fulani in nigeria

As far as am concerned middle belt is the trigger in Nigerian politics ...who ever they support becomes majority

The south has never given them and option

We in the south need leaders that can think and plan for politics

Well Fulani's and Hausa's have the playing politics for years before we came along

Very true, but southerners are naturally dull politically, they are only concerned about politics of their own tribes and communities, then they later complain n cry of Hausa domination.

It isn't the flag of Oromia region in Ethiopia. It's the flag of Oneg(Oromo Liberation Front).

Oneg was formed during the Derg regin(1974-1991) and it's objective is to create an independent Oromia country. It's trying to achieve this by using propaganda. It's indoctrinating Oromos, especially young Oromos that they had been directly oppressed and colonized by Abyssinians(especially by Shewa Amharas) from 1880s till 1974 and from indirectly from 1974 till present.

Now, let me tell you the truth. Oromos hadn't been colonized. Atse Menelik II(Shewa Amhara) expanded to SW, S and SE of Abyssinia to conquer the previously lost territories because of Abyssinia-Adal war and Oromo population movement. Only few areas were newly conquered. The other truth is, most of Menelik soldiers were Oromo themselves. The great Generals who mostly achieved this objective was also Oromo(Shewa Oromo to be specific) named Ras Gobana Dacca. Gobana was the first Oromo elite to be Christianized and Amharanized. Some unpatriotic Oromos consider him as a betrayal, but Abyssinians and patriotic Ethiopians consider him as a hero.

Some southern Oromos also supported Ras Gobana and the Ethiopian centralization was "welcomed as a way to put an end" to 'intertribal fighting' between the Oromo communities. So most Oromo and Christian Gurage territories reunificated peacefully. Some Oromo territories, Muslim Gurages, Silts, Hararis, Sidama, Wolyata and few were conquered by force.

The bad thing was, some Menelik army had carried out large scale atrocities(torture, mass killings and large scale slavery) against the some Oromos, Dizi people and the people of the Kaficho kingdom. Some estimates that the number of people killed as a result of the conquest from war, famine and atrocities go into the millions. According to Alexander Bulatovich, Menelik's Russian military aide, Menelik's armies "dreadfully annihilated more than half of the Oromo(Galla) population down to 5 million people. This took away from the Gallas(Oromos)all possibility of thinking about any sort of uprising.

Let me tell you also Oromos atrocities. During their population movement from mid 16th century to early 18th, they massacred, mutated organs and enslaved many Amharas and other ethnicities. They enlarged their territories very big and many different ethnic groups were assimilated and became Oromos. Those that resisted faced horrible atrocities like their organs were mutated while they are alive. Most of Abyssinia territories were taken and some Oromos like Yejjus, Wellos and Rays penetrated further north and settled in Bete-Amhara and southern Tigray areas. Bete Amhara was an historical place for Amharas because it was in this place where Amharas and Amhara culture originated. The Oromos in that area massacred and tortured many Amharas. The Wello Oromos changed the name Bete Amhara to Wello in 1855.

Do I support what Menelik soldiers atrocities against the Oromos? Yes, I support. They faced the same thing what they did to others, so I believe they deserved it.

Oromos can leave Ethiopia if they want. I don't care, but they can't take all the Oromo territories with them.

Great piece. You guys really have some strong history.

**** You see, this is one reason why Nigerian governmt has removed history from our academic curriculum because Nigerian kingdoms & empires in the past fought terrible wars, conquered n enslaved each other n many more bitter things.

>>>>For instance, the kingdom i descended from (Kwararafa kingdom) n the kingdom someone like Ishalbash here descended from (Kanem- Bornu kingdom) were very bitter enemies in the past who attacked n mutilated themselves. N not to talk of how my people were continously attacked n raided for slaves by Islamic Hausa-fulani kingdoms (emirates) n some were islamized.

Now if these kind of things are repeatedly taught to young Nigerians, they would grow up hating each other for no reason.
Infact we are facing serious hatred already, not to talk if we add these bitter histories. Or is it the Nigerian civil war where over 3 million lives were lost? History is just very bitter.
