You may have some points though, but i think it is a mutual thing. Ask yourself or ask your Kenyan friends, apart from a great tourism industry, what else can Kenya really offer better than Nigeria? Nothing.
Kenya also has some of the most terrible sights in Africa.
Of what use is a very beautiful neighbourhood with resorts, parks, garden and e.t.c when just beside it, there are huge slums everywhere with millions of people?

How much is their so called tourism sector worth or generating? Beautiful gardens are not enough to make an economic super power. .....It woud have been better if your Kenyan friends use all the money they spend in building luxury resorts in building industries and industrializing their country.
I am not against beauty or an aesthetically pleasing environment, but i think these are things that come in their own time. The oil curse had been the problem that crampled the minds of many Nigerians not to think into other sectors including tourism, but the curse is gradually fading.....
In a short time, a lot of things will fall in place.

It's better when the government doesn't do some things. It encourages competition. The government is involved in policy making, publicity of various kenya as a destination in general, etc.

The resorts are private. Many are found with national parks and game reserves too, but they are just lease holders.

Parks are owned by:

- Government (National parks)

- Local communities (Game reserves) The Maasai and afew other communities have several of this on some of their communal lands.

- Private individual persons who have big parcels of land that also happen to have wildlife (also called game reserves.) Anyone can get a licence to do this.

I am very curious to know what is all about. I was quite amused when I came accross this other movie on tv about Beyonce, Shakira and Rihanna...No, it had nothing to do with the reknowned popstars.

Anyway, u cannot find any serious Kenyan watching these types of movies, and that is not to say that we view all the Nigerian movies negatively like that.
There are a number of movies and tv programs frm Nigeria that I have seen, they were quite of good quality, the plot twist.....just good.

Like this very first Nigerian movie I saw when I was still a boy in 2002, called "The Irony of Fate". I still remember that movie, it was great. I became interested in Nigerian movies for a while, however, over the years, all the other subsequent movies I saw were of bad quality, nearly all of them featured sorcery in their storyline, and it was very becoming monotonous.

Tinsels is also quite good.

But honestly, catch me dead watching those movies.

Tiv did not evolve from Bantu languages or Proto-Bantu like the Bantu languages. Bantoid is a very vague and an uncertain language branch. It's also quite controversial.They are actually closer to other West African languages, but they show narrow features that are similar to Bantu. They are also not hybrid of West African languages and Bantu. Bantoid is a classification on its own. Tiv, Bantu languages, and lots of West African languages are all classified as Niger-Congo super family.

I am from Benue state by origin (the Tiv homeland) and most Tivs accept and believe that they are of Bantu origins. yaah they do.
**** We the Idomas, Igedes, Yalas, Jukuns, Etulos, Kutebs, Alagos, Agatus and all the other ethnic groups neighbouring the Tivs in Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa and Cross river states are all from Kwararafa Kingdom by origin except the Tivs.

I studied all these histories about my people in the university. The Tivs came with a strong wave of migration from Congo area, (i think during the fall of the Kwararafa kingdom), and that was how they came to displace most of us the Kwararafan tribes, coupled with their high birth rates and expansionist lifestyles, they even cut off the Etulo people from Idomas and have almost culturally absorbed them today.
The Tivs are Bantu expansionist just like their other Bantu cousins who expanded and occupied almost the whole Africa, absorbing anyone on their way, that is why you see them fighting the Jukuns and other neighbouring ethnic groups in the middlebelt.

Buh just that it's a free country and a free market. These cheap producers still have their customers and it also serves as a source of employment for many. Nothing can be done to stop or regulate them from the markets.

I think with time they will die a natural death as there will be loads n loads of these 1st grade movies in the market. First grade movies are mostly watched in the cinemas and only original copies sold (which might be expensive) for lower income citizens, until after some years.

I think i was even too hard on the 2nd grade movies, these are the perfect movies for illiterate and semi illiterate village girls, housewives, housegirls and market women.
Educated middle-class Nigerians living in cities hardly watch these kind of movies. I myself can't remember the last time i did.

Although, some of these movies can be very hilarious Even the title alone makes it amusing

Well, strictly speaking, English had so many variants in its infancy, that it had to wait very long for standardization in both grammar and spelling. Centuries. But the common tongue still amongst the people of the British isles. Did you know there is something called Scots English? Spoken in Scotland, with that sweet accent. That aside, there are still many variants of English e. g international English, American English, Australian English, Indian English etc etc but they have STANDARDIZATION BODIES.

kiswahili had its origins as a tongue called kiNgozi. Some natives still call it so. It also had many regional variations, just like German or Yoruba . It was still mutually intelligible to its speakers. It wasn't until 1849 that the standardization began. And just like German, a common standard was established, based mostly on the Zanzibar dialect. Upon independence, both Kenya and Tanzania set up bodies to regulate the language and thus the language stopped being ambiguous but became a full fledged and independent language. That is the difference between a language and a pidgin. A standardized and official form, with a regulator.
Even Chinese has various forms. Does pidgin have standardization and a regulator?

Buh if we are not mistaking, the major issue of contention was 'whether today's English language was pidginized or not', of course it wasn't as you claimed because native speakers of a language cannot pidginize their own language, they can only borrow vocabulary but the structure of the language would still remain, and i hope we have gotten that right.

As for standardization of pidgin, nothing stops a pidgin language from being standardized, Hatian creole was standardized (yes, it can be argued that it is a creole and not a pidgin)+++++++++ what about 'Tok pisin' of Papua new guinea? It has been standardized and officialized, even though it is now considered a creole today, buh It started out as a pidgin and was creolized not too long ago. Nigerian Pidgin is already displacing many native languages in South-South Nigeria and will soon be creolized.
****Nigerian pidgin can be standardized, infact there are private bodies working on it's standardization and dictionary in Nigeria. The language has not just been given Federal government consideration due to the division it might cause as the language is yet to penetrate northern Nigeria where Hausa is giving it a hot competition.
