Nairobi has a more beautiful skyline than Lagos. It looks better organized n developed than Lagos. I know arinzeejikonye will never agree buh pics from Nairobi are really wow from what am seeing. It looks like a city in America
***The only major problem of Nairobi just seems to be it's slums****
vaxx: he is not smarter than adenuga nor brillant than otedola. he is just furtunate to move with elite nigerians.
Nigeria goverment contribute to his success largely. imagine geting a goverment land at apapa lagos. a very vibrant enviroment . he himself will forever hold gratitude to the federal govt
Naaah, let's just say dangote has better negotiating/dialogue skills than his contemporaries. He is smarter than his contemporaries!
freshest4live: Exactly, l don't think Dangote has dominated every top aspect of the economy as some insinuate, though l understand where Marcelo is coming from, it's just that his projects are more intimidating and his ambition is something else. Dangote even bought the best gas firm from Holland, which means when his refinery begins operation, these guys may have no choice but to place their headquarters in Lagos under Dangote, and even build more gas plants across the nation. The guy is not afraid of doing big things, and today he is thinking of becoming the largest exporter of rice in the world by 2021, and has started making plans to that effect and still thinking of buying Arsenal. Even with the restrictions on Zimbabwe, Dangote visited Mugabe and had talks of building a 400 million dollar cement plant there, Lol.
Daaai. Dangote is just something else. The man is a business genius. His ambition is too strong, no relenting.
What do Nigerians have in common with Ethiopians n Somalis? What do Senegalese n Cape verdeans have in common with South-africans or Ugandans? That's not really an excuse.
MtuMsuper: They only want market for their goods and to hold down the clamour for independence from the saharawis. They will spit on your face without thinking twice if they met you on the streets. They tried for decades to join the EU, but it seems even Turkey will beat them to it. Beware!
MtuMsuper: Fantastic! We Kenyans are sending our applications ASAP. Oga Nowenuse, uzzyfire, genieluv, and others too numerous to mention, tell them about our good behaviour!
I hate Ecowas! I don't see what Nigeria is benefitting from this so called useless union. I wonder how foolish black west africans are not to knlw that Morocco only wants to take advantage of us.
****Well, Moroccans should not start complainning when millions of Nigerians arrive their country
~~Of course, myself n most Nigerians would prefer Kenya in a political union with us than moroccans~~
Isahalbash: But he was the best nah and he deserved it.
Yaaah, maybe, buh doesn't change my point. We black africans seem as if we are the ones trying to beg north africans associate with us. They never organize any pan-african event. Do they?
Hbuyosh: I have also lived in Lagos, and I know that whites, Lebanese and the Fulani dominate your economy, they live in places like Banana island, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Tge Ecko City under construction currently and Maitama in Abuja while all the other Nigerians live in places like Ajegunle and Nyanya or Makoko.
It is nothing but the truth, and u know it. We can prove it.
Holly this statement is extremely absurd. Whites n lebanese r extremely few n insignificant in Nigeria. N as a matter of fact, fulanis are poorer on average compared to most Nigerians and are dominant in the far-north.
MtuMsuper: Your friend with the strange number for a moniker is just one bitter and bitch a$$ African who is trying to sell a stale message with an expiry date : anything in Africa that is progress must be attributed to oyinbo/obroni. While racial minorities do indeed exist in many African nations, "domination ", "controlling " or other very Nigerian like terms are his invention. In fact, i sincerely believe that your friend with the strange number for a moniker must have been frightened out of his wits when he first landed in Kenya, only to discover the sight of Kenyans wearing shoes and going about their business without having to try and eat each other in the process. He was sold a bridge before he came here, and is still trying to process the fact and reality that things like law and order exists in Kenya. He's going through a phase, help him.
MtuMsuper: I get away for a few days and am waay back at page 900! You guys have names that are similar to ours. A name like Okwara, Olubayo or Okech would be very much at home in Kenya as in Nigeria. Has anybody investigated this phenomenon? Should we send elders to each other?
lol yaaah true. So many endless arguments.
Of course a lot of us have similar names . We share common ancestors as black africans. It's unfortunate that political boundaries created by Europeans has caused great division amongst us.
Fidha254: If you read about Konza technopolis, you will understand that Konza is more about the idea (ideology) than physical space, thats why their motto is "Where Africas Silicon Savanna Begins", already some of the objectives of what Konza seeks to achieve are already becoming a reality even before the city gets finished, IBM, Nokia, Philips, Qualcom have already built research labs in Kenya to use local talent to further RnD in some of there products......... Anyway, the initial investment in Eko is $6Billion, for Konza is $14.5B Centenary is $18B so their you have it... But first understand what each city seeks to achieve, one city might with little investment might bring more to the GDP than the one with the major investment... For example you might find in future Eko contributes more to the economy than Cenetary....
Eko may be at advance stage but Konza too is not asleep Construction for the HQ has been ongoing
on the last two pics, from the renders and from satelite image of the actual progress you can see they are following the plan exactly like on the blueprint
Kk. Very interesting. Am happy about this development in Kenya. I pray we have more of this in Sub saharan africa.
Centenary city plan also has financial n technological districts amongst the others.
Holly why would i like north africans? Most of them dislike n despise us black africans. So, the feeling has to be mutualized. ****I was so angry seeing a white north african winning the best african player of the year in the glo CAF awards (organized by a Nigerian company glo). Do u think an Egyptian, Algerian or Tunisian company would ever organize a pan african event n allow a black african win the overall best award?****
lakesider: I like d speech of d new Ohaneze Ndigbo President. Pls read objectively.
In my own opinion, d enemy of Ndigbo is Ndigbo itself. I remember a time in this country when all d 6 ministers in Jonathan's kitchen cabinet were all Igbo's. Ayim Pius Ayim was SGF, Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla was in charge finance, Emeka Wogu was in Labour and productivity, Berth Nnaji was in Power and Energy, Dieziani Madueke was d powerful minister for oil. The 6 of them outside d Federal Executive Council would meet and decide what and what not to be discussed at d larger FEC. Whatever they decided would eventually be d position of government. In 6 years, this was d situation. Okiro and Onovo had d police under their control. Ihejerika and later Minimah controlled d Army. These powerful Igbo's could do and undo. Nigeria was in their pockets. Rather than care about d poor Igbo chaps scattered all over d country, they were busy diverting billions of naira into their accounts at home and abroad. D 2nd Niger Bridge, they didn't do. They shared d money. The Lagos/Calabar rail lines passing through 9 States, 3 of them in d SE, they were not bothered. They refused to pay d Chinese d Counter part fund. They shared d money. Enugu/Onitsha, Aba/PH and other roads of economic importance to their fellow Igbo's, they abandoned.
Who is to blame? Who is marginalising d Igbo's?
You had your chance, you bungled it. There was only 1 Yoruba minister worth mentioning at d time, Akinwunmi Adesina. He was in Agric. His budget was less than 1% while Emeka Wogu in Labor had over 10% for his ministry, Ayim had unlimited access to d treasury for d benefit of himself and family members. The poor Igbo guys meant nothing to him. If an Igbo becomes President tomorrow after Jonathan, will there be any difference? The Igbo man will marginalise his fellow Igbo people.

This ia sadly true. Buh why don't igbos seem to have the heart of helping their people?
Marcelo290: You have got a point though, he is a plus for Nigeria anyways. If he wasn't reinvesting here, (which is still going into his pocket anyways)that would have been the problem, but with his continues monopoly, we may wake up one day and discover the country is in one persons palms, which isn't good for a developing economy... his business has spread into every sector of the country.
Yes. Buh i forsee people like Innoson Chukwuma rising up to Dangote. There are still a lot of free areas for exploration by the private sector in the Nigerian economy. There is enough space in the sky for all to fly. Many are just too myopic or complacent to make such moves.
deedeedee1: You talk like there is only one ethnic group in the north central. Just like south west, the south east is mono ethnic....one language, culture, and people. You middle beltans can never have one voice. You are another mini nigeria.
I guess you are correct. The ills of being a minority group in a country like Nigeria where everything is centred on ethnicity.
They finally shut dat big Afonja mouth of urs. lost soul!
Have u guys become so confused? I am from the middlebelt and not afonja. I actually said 'wow' because i commended the efforts of the South-east house of reps. You can recheck my edited comment.
Nowenuse: genie, i hope u can now confirm that Tanzanians are far more good looking and stylish than Kenyans on average?
And yes i watch Trace Mziki, how else do you think i'd have known a lot about Tanzanian musics? Prior to that channel on dstv, we never knew if east africans even sang any modern music. East Africans should better thank their stars for Trace and that channel on Dstv.
Well, from what i am seeing i think they are. Buh that doesn't mean Kenyans have nothing to offer. They just seem not so interested in entertainment as such. I think i once read Victoria Kimani say something about that in an interview how most Kenyans do not value entertainment.
Nowenuse: When will our own house of reps from the North-central take a bold step and confront the issues bedevilling our people? Foolish men busy ass-licking Hausa-fulanis believing in One arewa which is nonsense.
You are very correct. I am from the North-central too and equally commend this bold step of South-east representatives. We middlebelters are the most visionless n directionless people in Nigeria. We just move whithersoever the wind tosses us.
fanficgirl: But Kenya did so well with coke Africa and I've watched some if their music videos and they were good.
Oooh, apart fron Sauti sol, i don't really know any Kenyan i'd say sings fascinating music. >>>>>I have checked out Kenyan artistes like Nyashinki, Jaguar, Khaligraph jones n others, i don't see anything fascinating in what they sing. Pls u know any other kenyan artistes apart from the ones i've listed?
NairobiWalker: Which Kenyan music are you listening to? And which Kenyan videos are those you find of poor quality? Do you have to belittle Kenyans when you compliment Tanzanians?
Ooohh, am sorry if i sounded that way. I just felt that as the most powerful country in East Africa, Kenya should be far ahead in the entertainment industry, buh i think i was dissappointed
I watch Trace Mziki on dstv a lot, which is a channel for East african music. I hardly see any other musics which i admire or would term 'cool' there except most Tanzanian musics. Except for probably Kenya's Sauti sol.
shervydman: yes, its kinda painful seeing our north African brothers considering themselves as Arabs.
Holly It cannot really be painful to me cos i think Egyptians are really Arabs. The Tunisians, Algerians n others from the maghreb region are better than Egyptians who want to be more arabic than those from Saudi arabia.......that's their problem though.
I would rather pick an actual European white man over a north african. I don't like north africans.
Nowenuse: Was this one also shot in South Africa? It was a top east african hit earlier this year. N these Tanzanian artistes are not even very famous. Genieluv, check out this cool Tanzanian music, this music will even make you love swahili more!
OMG! I love this hit. I have watched it once buh i never got to remember the name, i would have downloaded it.
Of course, this song has a very ordinary background, it must have been shot in Tanzania, considering the fact that these artistes are not very popular yet.
@NairobiWalker, i hope u don't say otherwise! Let me tell you something, a music video must not show beautiful n luscious surroundings before it can be said to be of good quality. It can be shot in an ordinary house or studio and still look mwaaah
So i really don't see the excuse of Tanzanians shooting videos outside Tanzania or not as a reasonable one. They are really doing well with their entertainment industry n i think that's what matters. Kenyan artistes really need to wake up from what i'm seeing, cos their vibes seem very low.
Fidha254: Eko is 24kmsq, Konza is 50km2.... But that should t matter, what should matter is the effects of the cities, and as far as I know Konza is in its own category, its far more valuable than most new cities bieng built in Africa... Monza wont be just some other 'commercial city or industrial city' this is a city built for one purpose only, research and innovation! This will be a place where you are not hindered you are free to think and innovate, all the necessary infrastructure will be there, if you want a billion dollar particle accelerator to study matter, you will have it.... It will have universities just for advance research only..that kind of thing....
Geeeee, U are comparing Kenya's Konza city with Nigeria's Eko atlantic city which has gone into advanced stages. >>>>Hope u heard of Abuja centenary city which is far bigger n more expensive than Eko atltantic? What would u say about that?
