You know the strange thing, when I tracked that passport number you submitted, it said it's not ready for collection. Why would staff at GSS say immigrant visas cannot be tracked? This whole thing is becoming really annoying.

ferdimako: They can be interviewed at separate Embassies. They need to inquire though. I have seen a guy interviewed in london while his wife and kid did in lagos.

I hate to press so hard to avert a catastrophe. This was how majority of the people here asked that couple to add individuals who weren't in the original eDV application to the DS 230 form. Some even claimed to have seen those who did it and succeeded. Well, the rest is history now.

You said you're married, right? To who? How can the CO be convinced you are married without actually interviewing (cross-examining) your wife along side with you? She CAN choose not to travel with you but she CANNOT choose not to be interviewed with you.

She'll be interviewed along with her husband at the first instance. That is, their interview if successful is the reason the principal is given a visa. Technically, she already has her visa in principle but not ready to physically collect it since she hasn't furnished the necessary consideration to necessitate immediate issuance.

That's the correct position of law. She MUST be physically present. For goodness sakes, how can you claim married when your wife cannot be cross-examined for dissenting views? Don't approach the embassy without all your derivatives EXCEPT they are already permanently resident in the US (Green carded) or Citizens of the States. If you try it, others will learn from your mistakes.

Honestly, mi binu at all there is always two sides to a coin, if you take it from your view and I take it from my view it helps a lot.On the issue of the other guy you can check my post on it, I copy the whole instructions and paste it for him to see people like....(i dont want to start mentioning names) kept giving him a false hope and it backfired.People now resolved to"once beating twice shy".

That's correct, always two sides to a coin. It's always either head or tail. No middle ground.

The case of the family who added their twin after the lottery was played is one of such experiences. Coming here to tell us it was how God wanted it is a soft landing pad. It's purely an act of ignorance and ill-preparation.

you can read my lips,he has no problem except if he is giving us half truth half lies,if your wife is not going with you and you dont pay for his visa nobody will penalise you for that,if you go with your wife and you didnt pay, she will not be allowed in to the premises.

If her name is on the schedule list which I am aware of, that's her access key to the embassy. Payments are made within not without.

NURU, I see you as someone who hates to confront the naked truth. Now listen young man, while I do not want to negate Adesoji's views on the matter, I always draw peoples attention to the laid down rules over which CO's do not have discretion. Let me ask you, if you succeed at the interview like you were assured you would, at what time and point will your wife appear for her interview for her Visa issuance having at the back of your mind that DV lottery for each year formally closes 30th of September each year and NO VISA can be issued after then?

Change your interview location to Nigeria with KCC, come home and have your interview with your wife. Get your visa and continue your education in the states. Don't embark on fruitless financial exercise. Don't let others learn from your mistake.

nero xp: @ Gentiger there was an ommision of a letter word lyk dis--NWOGBO instead of NWAOGBO--as u can see..'A' letter was ommited nd dis error is only in my school leavin testimonial,while evry of my documents has de correct spellin...I hav swore an affedavit of fact regardin de omission in a High court.my only worry nw is am I good to go 4 my interview wit only de affedavit or I shuld also publish in de newspaper,is de publication necessary in my own case?

You don't need newspaper publication to correct that. Get an affidavit. Do not present it until it becomes an issue. You only need newspaper publication if you are changing a name, introducing a new name or correcting a serious defect in your name. An omission of a letter from your name is no serious defect. It's a typographic error.

ojisalara: I have done the corrections at the Federal High court and what I was asking is how to get a National Newspaper to publish it, I'm in port Harcourt Nigeria, any one who has publish his name in the Newspaper should help please.

Spoondar has said all the right things to say to NURU. There's nothing more to say. You have two choices:

1. Forfeit the visa and continue your life in Europe because if you dare go to the interview without your legally married wife, YOU WILL BE DENIED VISA and waste the money.

2. Change your place of interview to Nigeria with KCC and return home a week to your interview to attend with your wife. This is THE ONLY guaranteed way to get your visa. The choice is yours to make.

I got to the embassy with my wife and my 24days old baby girl around 5:50am. We were called to line up @ 6:30am for security checks, the security too much here ooo my people...well, we have said prayers as if heaven wan fall. We got to the main building where interview takes place. I was given a number that would be called @ designated window though I firstly paid $990 for three of us. I was called @ window 13 to submit our documents and surprisingly; the lady gave me a warm smile when she saw the correspondence that I wrote to the KCC when I submitted my DS 230 form. I explained in the letter that my wife was pregnant and we could appear more than two during the interview I also included the shot of my wife during pregnancy She returned my letter and the picture and asked me to go back and wait for my number to be called for proper interview. Sorry for the story so far....I was called at window 16 where the white consular there just denied the first person that just left her window, yeeehhhh!!! the fear first catch me.

SHE CIRCLED AND ADDRESS AND ASKED ME TO PICK OUR VISAS THERE AND RETURN OTHER DOCUMENTS.

SHE DID NOT EVEN BORDER TO CALL MY WIFE AT ALL BECAUSE BY THAT TIME MY WIFE WAS SHIVERING ON HER SIT FOR THE LONG JOURNEY INTERVIEW. TO GOD BE THE GLORY I MADE IT.

MY ADVICE FOR THE REST OF PEOPLE IS THAT, YOU SHOULD HAVE COURAGE AND HAVE TRUST IN GOD. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT DIFFICULT AS MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBED THEM WITH WHAT I WITNESSED.

THAT VISA BELONGS TO YOU, GO AND HAVE IT ITS YOUR RIGHT AND DO YOUR PAPERWORK VERY WELL OOOO. BIRTH CERT, O'LEVEL,MARRIAGE CERT IF MARRIED, MEDICALS, POLICE CERT, ID CARD IF YOURE ALREADY EMPLOYED ANY DOCUMENT THAT COULD HELP IN-CASE.

I had so many quetions in my mind after receiving ma 2NL, but didn't know how to get answers until someone introduced me to this new family i never knew i will have, that is you(Nairaland Forum), yes you that is reading this message. Thank you so much for your encouragement, guidance and challenges. My prayers are that God will make us all useful to our selves, to Him, to our families, to our country and the world at large.Only be positive and good cos it pays to be good and a great loss to be evil.

Now here is my interview experience.
I arrived the embassey at 5:55am, waited outside till abt 6:30am before we were asked to queue up for the security checks and finally to the interview hall at about 7:15am.
waited with anticipation to see how this white lady at window 16 looks like, finally she came up and another gentle white man in window 15 and yet another at window 13. befor this, our numbers were called at different windows for submission of our documents by blacks, and my docs were collected at window 16, so i felt that was it, that i will be interviewed at that window, but to my surprise it was window 15 that later called my number.

co: do you promise to tell the truth and nothing buth the truth?
me: absolutely i do

plesae take note when going for your interview, go with someone who can take care of unwanted items, or go with a car where you can keep them. For nursing mothers you are not allowed to go in with baby food, please feed your baby ouside befor going inside, except for breast feeding.

Wishing you all that are still expecting best of luck. the God that did it for me, will also do it for you, but pls try to know Him more not just for the purpose of this interview, but throughout your life. It pays to know and to serve God.
