Family / Re: When Is A Brideprice Or Dowry Too "expensive" by gentleaura(m): 4:17pm On Aug 10, 2009
His amount of wealth shouldnt be confused with greediness at all, I think she's only being wide-mouthed and greedy by asking for a set price merely because she thinks he is rich and can afford it, what a GOLD DIGGER!! If a girl demands what she wants and I believe its outrageous, well thats the end of it,

JustGood:

Why are these idiots recycling themselves in power in Nigeria after having destroyed the fabric of the nation? angry

Crooks always recycle themselves in politics if nothing is done to stop them. Power is always cloistered with the elites, they protect their power to manipulate the country. Question is, what , if anything, can and should we do to make the frigging leaders open up the process of power??

Nothing is done as per Ribadu who use to head the EFCC, what says you about the average policeman??

God is the greatest judge
Be apt to listen, slow to speak
Men of God are usually the most sensitive beings to make insinuations about,
Some carry a portion of 'amazing' grace we cannot fathom
Let God be the judge, don't heap curses on your fragile life. Don't be a scape goat!

The end they say will justify the means.

Well said, the end will justify the means, but coming from a CE member as well, I know so well of the brainwashing going down the supposed ministry. Nothing could be done without the mention of the name of Pastor Chris, I have been encouraged times a many to drain my bank account to sow for "Pastor's" birthday, ooh plz,
How they con you into buying Rhapsody every month and if you dont, they literally condemn you!!

Enough of the BS man!!

Eldee,

If my bodyguards beat you without my authorization or in my absence and you sue me, you think the court will rule against me?

lol bro, abeg go ask ur learned friends!

I am sorry I just cant simply ignore your ignorance of the law. There's something called "vicarious liability", go look it up! The security men are working for him, and their actions are based on their employment, that is to say, all what they did was when they were employed with him, during the time they are required to be at the place of employment, the actions took place on the grounds of their place of employment and they had managers approve of their actions!!!

Sorry, its a tight one, the church, and Chris being the leader is liable for their actions, Victim might win if he as good representation!

Hey there Yemmight,

I have a question for you eh! I have a certificate in Human resoures mngt and I am a certified HR professional here in Toronto, My question is, whats the market like in Nigeria, I'd say right now, in respect to HR professionals and do I need to go thru some conversion before I could work as an HR professional or is it relative to companies??
I'd appreciate your response to any of the questions, if you do have ideas on/about it.

Thanks,

Politics / Re: The Arrival Of Gay Church In Nigeria! by gentleaura(m): 3:02pm On Sep 17, 2008
Well the said church have since been closed, since the biased Nigerian news media(P.M. News) wont relent on taking over the disruption of such activities.

Family / Would You Let The Wedding Hold? (what'd You Do?) by gentleaura(m): 9:04pm On Mar 03, 2008
There's this presumably straight guy, he's masculine, straight-acting and what not, but he's gay. He's not out and you wouldnt have guessed if he is into dudes or not. He happens to be family friends with this guy and girl, they all kinda grew up together.

They both left the country and went to school in the US. He visits Nigeria often, and on occassion he'd randomly sexually hook up with guys, and there was this particular dude - good job, educated abroad as well, nice family- that they usually hook up together but always keeping their biz on the downlow,

He got a call from the female friend, very excited, that she's engaged, He inquired about the guy, dude is in naija, visits the US often, ooh cool. They all visited naija during a xmas and planned to visit their house, and maybe he could meet the prospective groom.

Walked into the living room and met the fiance and it happened to be the dude he used to "kick" around with.

What would you do??
Family / Re: Should I Allow This Wedding To Hold? by gentleaura(m): 8:52pm On Mar 03, 2008
Unfortunately you just have to keep mute. If you are compelled to share the mystery then I'd suggest you go ahead and talk with an elderly person who you seem to be unbiased towards the couple. Its hard!!

banni:

You be man and you dey demand say it must be huge and they fund it because you read say nah woman's family dey pay?

Wait till you jam Igbo woman and you go know say muson center dey cost well well.

No be all cultures the woman's family funds so watch out haha.

But yes like i posted before i agree on one thing there. If the man or woman is pushing for a big wedding then they should simply fund it.Don't ask someone who does not believe in big weddings to spent its stepping on their principles. The mere fact they agreed to it despite their own wishes is enough sacrifice.

Ooh no man, I am talking about my family, Not the woman's family ,
Events / Re: How Necessary Are Big Weddings? by gentleaura(m): 5:13pm On Feb 28, 2008
I said it once and I will everly say it, as long as the parents are pushing me to get married, I will have to give them a list of conditions,

They are funding and it has to be a HUGE wedding, as long as one can afford it, you cant tell the person how to spend money on such a memorable event,

So book the muson center for the reception, Tafawa balewa sqr for the traditional wedding already!! I just cant wait ,
Events / Re: How Necessary Are Big Weddings? by gentleaura(m): 5:40pm On Feb 27, 2008
As for me, I am not getting married if its gonna be a moderate wedding!!
Travel / Re: So Many Fire Incidents In Lagos: Why? by gentleaura(m): 6:19pm On Feb 18, 2008
Most of the fires is suspected arson, if investigated well enough. What the people need is insurance, even though they dont foresee fire, you need to have yourself protected just in the light of starting all over again!

We still need effective governance in Nigeria, when that is in place, all aspects of law keeping will be effective, such fires could be prevented, if not, losing once entire life sufferings in a snap of a finger will be totally reduced!

Career / Re: Two Offers: A Banking Job And An Engineering Job by gentleaura(m): 3:39am On Feb 13, 2008
I wouldnt even hesitate to suggest he take the engineering job. Like you said, thats his passion, thats where he sees his career grow. The bank offer does sound good but if what I am familiar with, most jobs place you on 3 months or longer probation. I am pretty sure if he doesnt meet the quota set by the bank at the end of the 3 months, I bet someone will have a story to tell.

This is simpler than you make it seem, with the exception of the pay of course! Everyone want to get rich, but do we look at what comes along with the money, quite well the bank is closer to his house, but does he see himself as a fervent. near aggressive marketer just trying to meet his goal?

He needs to think wisely and weigh his priorities. Passion/satisfaction or something lucrative that comes with enough baggage??
60k with enough satisfaction, chances of moving up the career ladder and relatively somber and content lifestyle with 140k of lots of uncredited overtime hours, emotional/psychological stress about meeting quotas, hmmm GOODLUCK!!!
