amanze54: @ The guy oppressed by his wife. I am just being curious, I have calculated your net from your 49K salary, which means you are taking home 3k every month. This is close to the take home of me and my wife together and we still have good saving at the end of the month .
Abeg how are guys getting this 49k salary jobs. most of the jobs prevalent here are 25k to 30k gross.
In fact when I saw your 49k, I thought you are a king earner, until I keep seeing advices here encouraging you to look for better jobs,, haba,, better job, when some us are just roaming between 22k and 28k.
Any way celebrate your 49k and bear with your wife. He's a Systems Engineer in Bodo Manchester, so he should be earning that range 😁 If you're an IT personnel with 3-5 years of experience you should be looking at 40K+ for a start depending on your location. I was very close on sealing a £400/day job 8-5 within the first month I arrived in the UKay |

AKALAMAGBO: Sometimes this UK will frustrate you….
Been trying to move house since, got the one I like and credit check and referencing was carried out, which came out good but the agent is still asking for a guarantor due to the fact that wifey hasn’t been self-employed for up to a year and husby salary ranges between £28,407 - £30,000 as a permanent employee….
Una go dey increase rent but refuse to increase salary and make renting difficult for residents…
Shown payslips and rental history with good credit worthiness BUT all these oversabi House agents still dey ask for 2 Guarantors… Who wan guarantee person wey dey no know…
Olagbara ooo…. Never had a good sleep since yesterday… You can use https://www.rentguarantor.com/They will act as a guarantor for you. Since you want your wife's name to be on the house Contract you can link your accounts together. She opens her own and you open your own |

BorisJohnson: Oga Lexus… This your thought process is like asking people to migrate to Dutse (Jigawa State) or Nguru (Yobe state) or Zungeru (Kebbi State) or Monguno (Borno state) or Oye-Ekiti (Ekiti State) or Abatete (Anambra State) or Nembe (Bayelsa State) etc….
In ALL the places I mentioned above, they can get a 5 bed bungalow for less than the price of a 1/2 bed face-me-I-face-you in Abuja or Lagos.
Question is: Are there jobs? What (really) is the point of moving away from London to Hull or Sunderland or Middlesbrough or Newcastle or Durham or etc… and there are no jobs there? You buy/rent cheaply, but there are no jobs. What’s the point? Omo see how dem yab Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle sha.... Chai Job dey Newcastle ooooo and house cheap somehow. You fit dey Gateshead too I heard of someone sometimes make £10,000/week for Middlesbrough but I know no wetin the person dey do. |

Thank you guys for responding.
I spoke with the wife; she said she’s tired of everything and also whenever they have an issue, her husband will call her dad cos he knows she’s scared of her dad. Also, the guy has never pushed for a reconciliation, it was always her. She brought the guy into UK; all expenses paid by her. He was a teacher back home (30k salary). They’ve got no kids; married for almost 2 years.
To me I feel the guy is like that because he didn’t invest in the relationship. I’ve hands off and not telling him the advises I got from here. Whatever wants to become of him should be. From the bolded.. I wish I can meet this guy 😔.. make I give am Asian knock for head 😑😑😤 Very unserious fellow. Las Las Village people go draw him back to hin Village |

dustydee: Thank you sir. I am not trying to discourage anyone. For some, I do encourage them to come and some I discourage. It all depends on your individual circumstance. I get approached by people for advice. Someone recently asked if he should move abroad and I said he could because of his circumstance. He was well established in Nigeria, had little to nothing to lose by moving (Future settled, he can retire on a comfortable staeady income and healthcare for the rest of his life and much more plus he could test the waters and if does not work, he can go back to his job only losing a year or two). Now if I had someone advice me, I would have probably done same. I will stop talking and start taking action. Have a blessed day. Hmm!!! I don't know the industry you're into But for my own industry, I will rather not stay where a recruiter 😞😞😞 will say, We are sorry, we are not able to continue with your application due to your location.. With few months been in the UK, nah dem they rush me, nah me dey tell them I am sorry 😐. |

Lex2023: Hello guys I need help please. UK has fraustrate my life and I haven't been myself since this year because of my school fees. Sorry to hear about your ordeals my fellow Nigerian. With my short period here in Ukay, what I have discovered about the system is that you negotiate your way in everything you do. But our Naija people get this phobia, like emi Omo onile, Omo olona, 😁🤣🤣. I will figure it out on my own way. First, when school send notification about your payment, you should have inform school about this your ordeal and give them proof, negotiate your way out of it. They will surely listen when you write your bursar and give you more time. Yesterday I got a bill from O2 that my bill is now £29.45 because of RPI instead of £25, I disturbed O2 until I was transferred to the manager and manager gave me a discount of £5 for the next 12-months. Same way when I got into the UK and the Airbnb we lodged in no get the right pot for the induction stove that was previously there and me wan cook. I called the owner of the Airbnb and he went to buy new pots that's induction compatible so I can cook. ALWAYS NEGOTIATE YOUR WAY BEFORE EVERYTHING TURN MESSY 😜 😜 ABI RONALDO |
