madscientist88:Just seeing this now. First, kudos to your parents, but it does not change the fact that emigrating to Switzerland as a black African directly from Africa is difficult. It is even difficult for native Europeans. Switzerland discriminates against black Africans with high residency/immigration fees compared to South Americans or East Asians. Whether you flew with Dangote or Otedola is none of my business. |
Wotowotoman:Actually, it was revealed here that Dangote said in the last African Business Meeting that he has four passports. |
Eriggs:I did not bother to read the article. I find it irritating for any city to have a day reserved for sanitation. Anything that would disrupt economic activity is deplorable to me. What happened to cleaning every day? Or do you know any global city with a day reserved each month for cleaning? ![]() |
Gerrard59:As I have repeatedly stated on Nairaland, ALL Nigerian elites have a second passport. Those who don't have it are in the process. Don't allow any of them to deceive you with faux patriotism. A patriotic Nigerian is an oxymoron. Do as they do, not as they say. |
No city with over 10 million residents anywhere in the world shuts down activities for six hours to clean everywhere. This disrupts the economy thus, losing jobs and investments. Cleanliness is a habit, not an event. But hey, carry on. ![]() |
Wotowotoman:Using your metrics, how would you describe an exceptional black African woman in the context of B-school? I get the remainder of your comment. Any above-average black African woman has so much opportunities to excel. Even for we black African men, but more so for our women. |
MayorOfEdmonton:Invite the other parent. One year saved from daycare. braine:This una country don pafuka o |
Wotowotoman:Is she married? As it is, her residency status is superior to other immigrants slugging it with H1B. Just looked at her profile. Nothing spectacular. Columbia is good but not in the league of Harvard, Stanford, Wharton. This is belittling her efforts. CBS is a good school and part of the M7 (https://www.businessbecause.com/news/mba-degree/7514/m7-business-schools#:~:text=The%20M7%20business%20schools%20are%3A%20Harvard%20Business%20School%2C%20Stanford%20Graduate,Chicago%20Booth%2C%20and%20MIT%20Sloan.). She has done well for herself and those who look up to her. She even won prizes abi awards from professor. As for GS, people start from somewhere. She can always pivot to somewhere bigger and more prestigious. Makispoke started with EY and now works with a PE/hedge fund. Na small small. A house is built from the ground, not the roof. |
folake4u:That works for admission into Columbia Business School, not NIW application. - Imade also currently works at Goldman Sachs.Sure, she has done well for herself. Tensa20 really admires her as she was/is smart enough to stabilise her residency status even before graduation. Rather than hustle H1B, she is now on the way to Green Card status. I admire her for acing the GMAT notwithstanding her law background. |
From the revelations here, it seems the so-called professor really hates Igbos, worked for the present administration YET wants to japa. This is the cruelty I write every day about Nigeria's elite class: unintelligent, wicked, cruel, demonic and barbaric. He wants to japa after promoting ethnic hatred and corrupting election results. You can imagine! It is the reason I don't rate Nigeria's elite class, private or public. They have no conscience or dignity. Useless people! Sha, na una dey entertain such requests. |
tensazangetsu20:Proving these people wrong should be a hobby for us at this point. Even if it is for frivolous purposes, we must prove them wrong. |
The best way to scrutinise this gift is by asking what she does for a living, rather than labelling her a sex worker. The way Nigerians debate topics leaves much to be desired. And if she sells sex, you too follow enter street to sell sex. Selling sex is a business too. |
ednut1:I am curious, what if any Nigerian in that category invites a parent to perform Omugwo rather than send the child to daycare? |
tensazangetsu20:I think Law is a professional degree. What of the other girl you showed me on IG who got it before she graduated from her MSc program? No work experience o. She participated in the process without any attorney. |
FSU:https://www.nairaland.com/7266642/usa-employment-based-immigration-eb-1eb-2eb-3-visa Most of the Nigerian applicants from Nigeria DON'T have a PhD. Now, show us the source where 99% of successful applicants are PhD holders. As I stated, most applicants are PhD holders, but a PhD degree is not a sole requirement. It is an add-on. |
FSU:Entirely false. You don't need a PhD to apply. It looks like PhD is necessary because the majority of applicants possess it, but it is not the sole criterion. A BSc/BA and five years work experience, preferably cognate is enough. A MSc only comes when the experience is not up to five years or isn't cognate enough. |
IbeOkehie:Just as I stated in the previous post, he supported Buhari in 2015. See why I say you shouldn't describe Buhari's supporters as intelligent? The refusal to accept that Buhari was a mistake is why Tinubu will win again in 2027. This was how some of Tinubu's so-called intellectwat supporters on Nairaland leapt for joy when he appointed Wale Edun and Olayemi Cardoso. Today, the economy has worsened. Good thing Jonathan isn't blamed again as it was during Buhari's tenure. |
IbeOkehie:That of 2 should be a recent phenomenon. Also, many have been indoctrinated by mainstream media without checking facts by themselves. They get told 1 + 1 = 2 without checking for themselves why it is 2. I've lost SEVERAL Nigerian and native Black American friends because of (1) and (2). Remember too my entire nuclear family and various in-laws both young and elderly have been residing here for at least a decade, all are citizens and 95% of them don't like Trump. Then it mostly has to do with the racist nature/tune of the GOP. I doubt the same applies to the Conservative parties in Canada and the UK. So I ask again, where did you get the notion that Nigerians are conservativesLargely because of the above. All of this data also goes for those Nigerians I know in the UK and even Nigerians living in Nigeria, though I notice a difference in political attitudes between the Igbo and Yoruba that I know living in the UK.What are these "political attitudes"? Even here on Nairaland I get the sense most members here hate Trump and Republicans. The high earning Nigerians I know living in Nigeria ALL hate Trump, including my oft cited friends & acquaintances in the oil & gas industry that earn $1K per day AND a few politicians I know personally, including some who've been in government. In fact some of these rich ones are worse than Mao & Lenin. You would be SHOCKED if I shared some of our discussions.Trump promises to tighten migration to the US. So, it is expected. Black elites want to have easy access to the West but don't want to replicate the socio-economic developmental policies which made the West successful as Chinese elites did. While not a large sample size, I can report that of my classmates from my Federal Government College with whom I've ever discussed Trump, they ALL hate him.Again, I bet it is largely because of the GOP stance. That said, have you ever asked these people why they detest Trump? What exactly makes them despise Trump? I would like to know the basis of your statements. How you formed that opinion. 🤔 If you care to share.Well, culturally, most Africans are conservative. My generation, I strongly think, will be the last to hold certain conservative beliefs as the upcoming Gen-Zs will be very liberal. I have read on Nairaland how Nigerian permanent residents in Canada kick against Ndi LGTV policies and its likes. How they look for Catholic-run schools to enrol their children into rather than secular public schools. As for Trump, I loathed the gang-up they had against him in the run-up to the 2016 elections. Also, I noticed the discrepancies in beliefs and actual practices by so-called liberals. They don't practice what they preach and don't preach what they practice. They have this lovey-dovey approach to life which I find very unrealistic. Also, they seem to have this belief that blacks cannot do things for themselves and must always be dictated policies on how to live their lives. Additionally, they have this feeding-bottle mentality. I believe in teaching a man how to fish, not giving him fish. Lastly, they believe in equal opportunities = equal outcomes. Life does not work that way. Most importantly, what changed my stance was the way they defended the notion that the gender pay gap existed even when the data proved it false. But always, that was the narrative they ran away with. It is recently that the narrative has died down. They now accept that the "Motherhood Penalty" exists. |
Kudos to the police force for the good and clinical job. Now, the traders need to ask themselves, why are they prone to being kidnapped compared to players in other sectors of the Lagos economy? |
IbeOkehie:Most black Africans who wish to one day relocate or work or study in the US and the black Africans currently residing in the US who aren't naturalised citizens yet don't like Trump for obvious reasons. The moment they become naturalised, their true conservative nature bursts out. Africans are naturally conservative. Someone tweeted that if the GOP can curtail its racist tendencies, they will never lose an election because Latinos, Arabs and Africans are naturally conservative. Even East Asians, especially the men, are equally conservative. Conservative here means socially and economically. The thing about Trump is that aside COVID, his administration had low energy prices, low taxes, high economic growth and no war. Yes, no war. Even Arab states were on the verge of normalising relations with Israel. Russia stayed back, ditto Ukraine respecting itself. North Korea and China behaved. Trump bad blah blah blah, but the world was way more peaceful than today. You seem to be an intelligent fellow so this was surprising. That fellow campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015, I wouldn't describe him as intelligent. He and his intellectwat supporter of APC cohorts were in cahoots chanting support for Buhari in 2015. Isn't it interesting that he supports Biden under whose administration John Kerry visited Buhari a few weeks before the 2015 elections? |
immortalcrown:OP never responded to this. Typical Nigerians and their disgusting hypocrisies. |
The tale never happened. It is a figmentation from OP's head. Fake news! |
lordally:So, why are employers not open to offering sponsorship alongside the job offer? Why is sponsorship hard to issue or obtain? If it is the salary requirement, then it means the would-be employees don't have what it takes to be recruited for such positions. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Biden's supporters never allowed an official debate in the party as the GOP. They just dashed him the ticket. I am looking forward to his replacement. I hope it is Kamala. ![]() |
Tomorrow, his supporters and the wider sanctimonious Democrat Party will make it seem like Trump is worse. I rather have a Trump who tells you what he thinks than these lovey-dovey folks who say one thing and mean another. Tell me to my face "I don't like you" rather than lie in my presence while mocking me behind my back. Na even a black-owned radio station. Imagine what the press would have done if it were Trump? That is the thing with the so-called liberals: they claim to espouse "liberal ideals", but don't practice them. They preach what they don't practice, and practice what they don't preach. Trump 2024! |
AlaafinOfOyo:The Netherlands is below sea level. Nigerian elites are so unintelligent that they can't properly build a functioning residential area for themselves! |
An eye-opener post from my leader. I find it very interesting because over here, there are PLENTIFUL tech jobs, and way more if one knows Japanese. Companies here aren't open to employing newbies or those with less than four years of experience from outside the country. However, for those inside with resident status, the process is straightforward. As I wrote in your Memoirs from Chile, the Nigerian dude who graduated a year ahead of me got four offers. He requested a salary increment in the first and got it. Then he asked for another increment, but was declined. He refused the offer. The other offer had his resumption date to be the same month as the Japanese staff and they were egging him on to accept till he nailed his current place of work offer with an equivalent salary of $5K per month. When I visited him earlier this year, I met his Kenyan and Ivorien colleagues. There are many black Africans in the industry. Tech jobs no be problem for here. The koko is: you sabi leetcode? If yes, good. Can you speak Japanese? Brilliant! This opens more opportunities. So, I am surprised by the crises in the UK as exemplified by Aphrodite007 who coincidentally is an executive recruiter. All the same, well done. I am loyal to your gofment🙌🏿 |
Usmanovic95:If an election is organised, I am willing to bet $1000 that Tinubu will win in a free and fair contest. In fact, the only person who can defeat Tinubu is Buhari. Come 2027, Tinubu will win again. Gerrard59: |
Brenbentondiaz:Loyola Jesuit College and Ambassador's College have produced some of the highest numbers of top WASSCE and UTME performers in Nigeria. Yet, they were not included even though that was a criterion. Are those miracle centres as well?! Some of you people on this forum have gone nuts! |
The moment I did not see Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja, I knew OP was up to no good. I read the source and the criteria for ranking these schools were not comprehensive. You mentioned top WAEC grades, but only very few of these schools have students with top WASSCE grades. You rambled statistics of high WASSCE percentages without providing sources to validate your claims. 44% this, 45% that, 69% those etc., no single source to validate where you sniffed these numbers from. Also, you mentioned successful alumni, but could not mention ONE successful alumna or alumnus of ANY SCHOOL. The Loyola you omitted has Iyin Aboyeji and the CEO of Tony Elumelu Foundation as alumni. Loyola grads attend Caltech, MIT, and Harvard straight after their graduation. Check LinkedIn so you know I am not pulling fats and figos from my yansh. I dare you to mention one notable Start Rite abi Startimes alumni. In fact, at a point in your misguided and clearly falsified analysis, you could not continue the rambling of your unsubstantiated so-called criteria. Instead, you wrote verbose autobiographies of the founders of the schools. Not high UTME aka JAMB scores or WASSCE, but where the founders studied and their qualifications. Or is where a founder studied now a criterion? Why was this not mentioned ab initio? Additionally, the major competition referenced in your mendacious article was JET Science. So, what about the various Olympiad Competitions? Cowbellpedia? This was when I knew something was wrong seeing that LJC was absent. In fact, at a point(https://www.nairaland.com/3955914/loyola-jesuit-abuja-pictures/1#59033383), LJC was carting away all the top slots in WASSCE before Ambassador's College came to the fore. Again, you did not mention Ambassador's College which has performed exceptionally in both WASSCE and UTME. See why your list is fake news?! The Nairaland link has Naptu2 showing the strides by LJC, so you don't claim I faked it. I want to believe any Nairalander would believe Naptu2's posts as they are largely accurate. That said, here are the schools which ought to be omitted there because clearly this list is FAKE NEWS! You even mentioned universities' preparatory schools. Jesus! That is, secondary schools owned/operated by mostly federal universities. Again, this is a lopsided way of assessing schools. Nigerian universities' preparatory schools DON'T outperform their private counterparts in UTME or WASSCE. In fact, top federal government colleges outperform universities' preparatory schools. Which one be FUNAAB? University Preparatory School, Ekiti? I knew something was not right. Now, attached below is the snapshot from WAEC of the top performing schools in 2016. Over 75% of the schools listed in your anyhow list are not included. Yes, there are some good schools such as Charles Dale Memorial. Capital Science, Meadow Hall and maybe Caleb. But wetin be Start Rite Schools? Ostrich Success blah blah blah? Danijoy International School? Total Rubbish! See the list of top JAMB scores over a decade and none went to any of the schools you listed there: https://www.nairaland.com/7763389/top-jamb-scorers-where-today You see why your compilation is unconfounded? Of the 75%+ schools not listed, here are their names and numbers: 5) Hallmark; 6) Caleb; 7) Meadow Hall; 8..) Charles Dale Memorial; 9) Greater Tomorrow; 10) Capital Science; 13) City of Knowledge; 14) Bloombred; 16) Aduvie Intl; 15) Bethel Intl; 17) Adedokun Intl; 18) Preston Intl; 19) Start Rite; 20) Ostrich Success; 21) Qiblah Schools; 22) Epitome Islamic; 23) FUNAAB; 24) University Preparatory, Ekiti and 25) Danijoy Schools. Next time, spend time researching a topic before putting rubbish on Obasanjo's Internet! cc: franchasofficia, thanks for bringing this to my notice.

Interesting reply you have got here: Tightpussy2024:First question: No. Second question: Yes, especially if he does not have money. Also, how did you come about women enjoying life . There was a thread of you claiming nursing students enjoyed life because they dressed and looked flamboyant. Is this the prejudice you have against any good looking and classy woman?I said they enjoyed life because they had admirers who gave them money. Fine, some ladies earn their money, but many beautiful and young women get funds from male admirers. A privilege their male counterparts don't enjoy. My stance is: life na turn by turn. They enjoyed theirs, allow the men to enjoy the same. What happened to men vetting rigorously as punishment? Rejecting the "used products" and going for chaste clean and loyal women? This I recommend. Don't get me wrong, every man has his choice . my problem are the excuses you give, ricocheting from religious to biological and turn by turn reason. Why cant you counsel men to remain single and have their own children since marriage doesn't benefit them?Biologically because men have testosterone which is the major booster for sexual urges in men. See the research paper: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22552705/#:~:text=Sexual desire is typically higher,in studies of sexual desire. Religious? Biblical prophets were polygamous. Islam permits polygamy. Men cannot have children on their own, ditto for women. We need each other. You kicked against men having children if they don't want marriages, by fire by force they must be married to have children in your books.if hormones that cant be controlled are your problem, then stay single and have your children and freedom.I kicked against it because research show that single parenting isn't good for the greater society. If marriage institution break down due to adultery, blame the right person, and don't call feminism or wokeness.I will be lying if I say I care about men doings with their pennises, I am only worried of how acceptance of it is imposed on us, and if women reject it, feminism and wokeness is blamed for breaking families.I agree with the bold. A major reason I support a woman's right to divorce on any basis she wants it for. I don't necessarily blame divorce on feminism or wokeness. In fact, I have written here that should Nigeria be as rich as Malaysia, Nigerian women will not marry their men. Who knows? Maybe women should also be brutal vetters beyond financial capacity and look inward regarding fidelity. If the man cannot be trusted to be faithful, don't marry him regardless of how financially comfortable he is. Alternatively, should he "cheat", divorce him right away. Its just a point of irresponsibility nothing else. Men cheat because they can get away with it. So the hormones stop working when they are aware that the union will be dissolved and their properties will be split?First bold: we agree on one thing. Second bold: Humans protect their economic interests before anything else. In this case, no consequences which ties to the first bold. I don't even understand your stance on divorcees. You are not in support of single moms ( one parent household) yet in support of divorcees . can you separate the two? If women are divorcing men due to infidelity ( what you clearly advocate and support), and they begin to raise the kids as single parents, tell me, who caused the prevalence on single parenting and break down of marriage? As much as I support divorce, I don't support the rise in single-parenting as it does greater harm to society. There are a lot of issues societies with high single parenting have, especially those with a high preponderance of single motherhood. Research studies support this. Oddly enough, the societies with high single-household parenting have strong laws against infidelity in marriages. So, if those laws were instituted to prevent infidelity, why the rise in single parenting? Like I always say, men are not the only one's with hormones every body have the biological tendencies. While this is true, men have it in higher percentages than women. For the average woman, her husband is not the ideal man she hoped for will father her kids. Not all genes we like to carry in our wombs. You think a woman will like the idea of having the kid of her short husband ( risk having a short child? )Such is life for most people: it is not fair. Even the countries you citied with high adulterous men, check paternity fraud. It always matches the number . there is a reason paternity fraud cases is lesser in anglophone countries and higher in African and the countries you stated men have adultery alot( even if statistically its not proven, then I can swear men are not performing the test alot)..wonder if DNA existed in ancient times if marriage will have existed. That explains why queens had eunuchs as servants. King wives wey dey collect constant lashing from body built soldiers and gladiators.lol.You did make strong points here. So, las las, everybody dey cheat, right? Some just hide theirs better than others. ![]() My advice is simple, do whatever you want with your penis. Go and enjoy your biological rights as a man. Stop putting eye on women activities. If you marry, as long your wife respects you and fufils her marital duties, ditch the stupid DNA tests and all rubbish monitoring to prolong marriage. Stop judging and vetting women brutally when you are aware of what your hormones can do. Issue of body counts in women and her past should not bother men. While this sounds like a piece of great advice, errm, don't bring another man's child into a matrimonial home. Russians have mistresses, check the divorce rate in Russia and also men pay spousal supportNigerian men pay spousal support too. Most men pay. |
Fairview1:Number 2 and 3 ladies are okay provided they exercise well after childbearing. Number 1 is fat. Number 4 is older than myself. |
