pquaver:Typical gaslighting. Imo is a predominately Christian state. Nigeria is not a predominately Muslim country. Because Imo has 95% Christians does not mean Nigeria should have all top elective political offices dominated by Muslims. Also, Nigeria accounts for close to 90% of persecuted Christians globally. How many traditional practitioners in Imo have had their shrines razed to the ground by terrorists? How many Muslims have been slaughtered in broad-daylight by Christians in Imo? How many mosques have been burnt to the ground? How many Eze Mmos and Imams have been kidnapped in Imo, just as Catholic Priests were throughout Northern Nigeria? This dishonesty and crude wickedness is very prevalent with you people. I am sure you will slam your kon kon head tomorrow or will raise your wrinkled hands on Sunday thinking you are a good man. |
hardbody:The mediocre person is the Nlder who believes a developed country will issue visa to a non-resident African in a nearby African country. If not, why should a Nigerian go to Ghana to apply for a visa if that country's embassy is located in Nigeria? |
hardbody:And my answer remains: that is false as the Germany embassy requested for a residence permit from Nigerians who went to apply for student's visa at the Germany embassy in Ghana. |
7. See more, talk less. Don’t be the Eze of Ajao-land (after being sworn in, all Eze-like titles will be scrapped even though they are harmless) who went on public saying IPOB boys should be invited to Lagos. That was foolish talk considering it is a proscribed group in Nigeria. With relation to number 3, the same Eze visited officials of the Lagos government, promising support during the 2019 elections. Today? The same people have imprisoned him till God knows when. Another is Bebex – a young, rich, popular spare parts trader in Ladipo. Asking a married woman how much will she collect for him to fvck her? Obviously, that is an inane and disgusting question. However, when I first watched the video of the said woman narrating her experience, which she did in Yoruba, I quickly suspected it would go the tribal route (https://twitter.com/Ajibade006Ade/status/1649302781054922754). That is, my brothers, ejooo, come to my rescue. This Igbo boy asked me to name my price for sex even though I am married. If the lady was Igbo or even Ibibio, all she will do is rant on TwitterNG and everyone will say Igbo men are misogynistic. Even after her apology (after she must have been paid, obviously), Bebex was still arrested (https://twitter.com/omolisabi1/status/1650880109228728321?s=20), the policemen on standby were dismissed and the matter moved to the commissioner’s table. What else? The State Council for Gender Rights got involved. Trust me, it would not have gotten this far if Bebex was Yoruba or the woman was Igbo, even after she apologised. Check the initial thread when the matter got to the public, read carefully read the responses by the respondents: he must be dealt with was the overall narrative. We know why he must be dealt with. Then, check the thread when finally got arrested: good, we will teach him a lesson. As I said, his statement was totally uncalled and ridiculous. But in these times, they are extremely dangerous. Mind you, the same Bebex was always hobnobbing with Yoruba musicians. That will not save him. Did a pastor of a major church condemn the discrimination of Igbos during the previous elections? Has any sympathised even though Igbos are members? The outlandish and braggadocio have to reduce. I have stated this countless times, you attract unwanted attention because of that, and it is dangerous to do so in enemy’s territory. If you make your money quietly, no one will know you exist. Keep moves to yourself, open offshore accounts, and stick to Igbo women. Yes, most are rude and carry feminism for head. But it is better to deal with Twitter feminists (all of whom are Igbos) than with a woman who will seek state’s power to deal with an Omo Igbo. Even if she doesn’t want to, her kinsmen will force her to do it so they get the opportunity they have always relished. Don’t give people an opportunity to deal with you. It applies to humans – give a yard, they take a mile. So, don’t give them that yard. The Eze of Ajao and Bebex will remain in prison for months, if not more than a year. ECOWAS Court abi Supreme Court has said MNK should be freed. Has he been freed? I even argued before that Buhari will never free MNK. Not while he (Buhari) is alive. If you like, don’t listen. Nigeria will teach you a lesson, and I, Gerrard59, will be here to remind you and gloat. I get filled with joy when I warn people of something, they refuse to adhere to what I warned against happens to them. I will always be here to remind you people. |
Thank you OP for putting out this thread: I wanted to create something similar based on recent events as a follow up to this thread I created earlier: https://www.nairaland.com/7621766/tinubus-nigeria-nigeria-2050 As I stated in the above thread, prepare for Tinubu’s economic onslaught against Igbos. Buhari did the military one, Tinubu and his boys are going to do the economic one. His boys do not like Igbos. You need to read their posts and tweets – it is hate-filled and laced with wickedness. Even white racists don’t utter such publicly. To prevent being part of the damage especially if you reside in the west. 1. Keep to yourself. Doing gum body will take you nowhere. In fact, you have made yourself more vulnerable. 2. Get insurance on your shops and markets because fire go burn markets tire. Prepare for relocation of major markets especially Ladipo and Alaba. As for Computer Village? It will go, trust me. The location is too prime, and some of his boys are into real estate. Their lips are moving against each other. 3. Learn to talk less and mind your business. You need to understand Nigeria and Nigerians for what she/they is/are rather than what you expect it/them or think it/they should be. One Nigeria is only in the name. It is not an actual reality. Igbos in the west, especially Lagos have become too comfortable and carefree for an ethnic group whose properties were seized, kith’s were butchered and faced starvation just over 50 years ago. The ones in the north seem to have sense. Understandably so judging from recent violent attacks. The ones in west need to change their care-free attitude. 4. Like I wrote in the afore-mentioned thread, expect the Mother of all Discrimination. It will increase as more Igbos troop into Lagos for economic opportunities as Tinubu doubles down on favouring Lagos and the wider region. So, expect discrimination during job search, buying products, administrative duties and the most obvious – renting an apartment. You will be denied just because you are Igbo. Barefaced and with no apology. Be mentally prepared for it. No go begin dey cry o because you might want to. 5. Try to learn the language, e fit help. This goes to all non-Yorubas in southern Nigeria. For greater economic opportunity, if you desire to remain in Nigeria, learn Yoruba. 6. Be careful how you behave in the abroad. Expect the Mother of all abuses, gaslighting and state-backed media smearing. Imagine Bayo Onanuga as the Minister of Information? Abike as Foreign Minister? If you like, misbehave outside Nigeria. Trust me, you are On Your Own. |
FLYFIRE:I doubt she will say the same to these people due to their ethnic background. Well, I have reasons why I detest APC folks, and will keep doing so. |
ogelekpomgam:Are you spending in naira or pounds while in the UK? Someone who earns 500K in Nigeria is doing better than his counterpart earning 1000 pounds in the UK. |
hardbody: olamilekan9:Your reply does not answer Ola's question. Ola is not travelling to Ghana for visiting purposes, but to apply for a visa to another country while as a visitor in Ghana. Neither Ola nor myself is a hustler in this context. Please re-read next time. |
miketayo:South Africa's economy is the second biggest in sub-Saharan Africa, so SA should be omitted. The issue you are having is akin to those who praise the infrastructure in Akwa Ibom and say because of that, she is better than Lagos. However, the unemployment rate in Akwa Ibom is more than four times that of Lagos. That is how Nigeria is to Namibia. |
miketayo: Gerrard59: Our unemployment rate is higher than Namibia. They might not be extremely rich like the 5% of Nigeria but majority aren't living in poverty like we are in Nigeria. Please read up about Namibia. It seems you have not done your research about it. I have and even asked them questions on forums. Theirs is even worse as the people with money are whites and increasingly Chinese. The average Namibian who is not connected has fewer economic opportunities than a Nigerian. |
Sirchiboy:Honestly, you are lazy. I searched three of those places he listed, and got an idea of what he meant. You want him to give you feeding bottle? Someone has given you mattress, you are asking for pillow. ![]() |
miketayo:See, I am one of the persons that has lampooned Nigeria on Nairaland countless times. But when it comes to cold hard facts with numbers, only South Africa can be compared to Nigeria economically. Namibia is a good place to live a safe and quiet life, not to make money. Most migrants are economic in nature, not leisure. There are literally no menial jobs to do there because the locals have not see them. There are Cameroonians working in factories in Japan earning close to 5K dollars equivalent per month, something most Cameroonians cannot get. |
Ken4Christ:That is not true anywhere in the world. Being colonised by the French is synonymous with poverty. Check Asia, Africa and South America - Anglophone countries prosper. The English language is the greatest gift offered by the British to all her colonies. |
Caseless:Yes. When people mention Africa, the black man comes to mind. When people mention Arab, Egyptians and Co come to mind. Egyptians and Co are only "Africans" by geography, but culturally, linguistically, religiously, economically, historically etc., they are not Africans. It is the reason I laugh when "unfortunate Africans" like dem Mauritanians, Sudanese align themselves with Arabs. As a black person outside Europe and North America, you are categorised as an African until you show your passport. When you are outside Africa as a black person, go and say Hi to the Egyptian because he is African. ![]() |
Ken4Christ:C'mon! Check the top economies in sub-Saharan Africa, ALL are Anglophone countries. Francophone countries are terribly poor. It is the reason many people outside Africa don't learn French (except those aiming at Canada Express Entry). The language is economically useless as the majority of its speakers are in Africa. Due to Nigeria's population, she has plenty poor people. But when you factor in Burundi, Niger Republic, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea Conakry, DRC, Cameroon, Congo Republic, Chad, Mauritania etc. Damn! Terribly poor! As for UK visa, even a donkey in Nigeria can be issued the visa, Absolutely anyone in Nigeria can be issued a UK visa. |
milkymesh:You mean the same Reddit/Nigeria where each topic gets less than 10 replies? Where most are not residing in Nigeria? How many of them have lived in Ghana? Heck, even those who might have stayed in Ghana did so as Americans, not Nigerians. OP is a Nigerian, and the best responses he can get is from fellow Nigerians with Nigerian passports who have studied or lived in Ghana. Also, most of the replies he would get on Reddit would be idealistic, not realistic. He needs realistic advices from people in Nigeria, not Nigerians in the US. Honestly, how can Nigerians living in the US offer any form of advice to a Nigerian with a Nigerian passport who fled Ghana back to Nigeria? This is how these newbie companies will conduct a survey in Lekki and say Nigerians have plenty money. The best place to get information regarding Nigeria, Nigerians, living in Nigeria etc., is on Nairaland. Your suggestion is akin to visiting Reddit/CanadaImmigration to know how to move there as a Nigerian. |
staga:The thing is not about even residing in Ghana or Gambia, but applying for a visa at a country embassy in Ghana or Gambia. He would need to show proof of residence. That was the initial dude's question. |
hardbody:Please tell this to Nigerian students who had to reside in other West African countries when they applied for German student visa since the embassy in Nigeria had so much applications. They needed to show proof of residence in the said country to apply for a visa. |
Jecci:Must be so terrible. |
At times, I see Nigeria as the United States. It is the reason I am surprised when Americans on Reddit want to leave the country because of kini kon. There are "Ghanas" in Nigeria just as there are Switzerlands, Singapores, Koreas in the US. This means, you don't have to relocate to Ghana since there exist "Ghanas" in Nigeria. Tensa20 schooled in Ghana and has preached it for donkey months that nothing dey that country. Look at the economy, terrible. Buhari is bad, but Addo is worse considering he studied at Oxford and his finance minister studied at both Columbia and Yale universities. I wonder what they learnt there (assuming they actually attended classes and did not stand by the windows). As for digital courses, man. No idea, but please note that nothing good comes easy. It will take an average of 2-3 years to learn and start making something from a digital skill especially if you don't have a pretty strong math foundation. Working is just like starting a business, you don't make profits during the nascent stages. Heck, you even generate losses, but keep ploughing in money. Na why people wey never chop food belly full no suppose start business or else, dem go chop all the small small revenues finish. Ghana, just like dem Namibia and Botswana, are good to live a safe and quiet life when you don make money. There are not places to make money from, but to enjoy the serenity and quietness. |
olamilekan9:Yes, you need the residence permit of the country. You are not a citizen, so you need to show proof of residency. |
franchasofficia:Honestly, that is the truth. We no fvck pass those people and those people even engage in nastier and depraved acts than we do. This has to do with the economy. |
greatopec:You don't need another child again. RAISING CHILDREN IS EXPENSIVE. You are doing relatively OK. Just ensure your children study math related courses, HND or BSc or even OND, so their chances of getting lucrative jobs increases. You really don't need another child. If I mention vasectomy, some people will see it as evil, but if your wife has not entered the menopause stage, you are better off doing vasectomy. I suggest this because Nigerian man no go wan use condom with his wife. |
internationalman:For some of these countries, it is relatively peaceful to reside in. That is one aspect I commend them - they are relatively safer than Nigeria. But for economic opportunities? I have to disagree. |
haybhi1:You learn the language. No options. |
Akano5:There are no jobs in Namibia o. You need to read Namibians wailing on Reddit. Namibia was top three in the number of unemployed citizens globally before Covid. Nigerian youths have more economic opportunities to than the average Namibian youth. If the country was relatively peaceful, people would have moved to LCOL states especially in the north and middle belt. Tensa20 is right, only South Africa should be compared to Nigeria. As for others esp those island states, it is an orange-to-apple comparison. Those countries are good to live safely, but not for economic opportunities. Ivory Coast is not even in the top five economies in sub-Saharan Africa. Ghana, upon her perennial IMF begi-begi, has a bigger economy than Ivory Coast. That was how someone said Sudan is better than Nigeria because Ireland does not subject doctors trained there to qualifying exams. Sudan better than Nigeria? Maybe to groom terrorists. ![]() |
ednut1:Unlike before, Trump has too many wahala associated with him. Also, the CHIPS Act and other economic policies will provide good paying jobs for Americans in the near future. In fact, those policies even benefit Republican states. The best candidate the Rep can present is current Florida governor. Trump will lose. |
seanwilliam:Someone like me. I am willing to spend any amount to eat good food. |
Omoolaissagoal:What if he is making so much money as a young man> Huh? |
livebullet:What if he is doing an online work as a freelancer in any digital field? The reasoning most of you have na why rich and even middle class people dey stay away from poor folks. This is a dangerous mindset considering the surfeit of information online on how to make good money these days. |
zedegit:The quality of the meal differs. Look, the higher you earn, the higher your expenses. You will need to replenish the energy invested in making money. As your earnings increase, so does your taste. If the dude makes 800K per month as he implied, he has to eat good food to replenish his energy. In fact, I say he is not spending well enough especially if he lives in Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt. What you are saying is akin to telling Dangote to sleep at hotels of 15K a night simply because na sleep him dey sleep whereas LagosCurion and Marriot dey available. |
greggng:Or some people are earning dollars while living in Nigeria? There are many avenues to earn good income legitimately while living in Nigeria. What about others who are into buying and selling and have little overhead costs? Rather than indirectly accuse these people of corruption, as them "how do you make this kind of money?" "What did you learn and how long did it take to make the money?"/Yes, there are corrupt people, but there are also people who earn good money legitimately. |
