internationalman:Learn how to code. Yes, there are areas of tech that don't involve coding, but those areas are less lucrative than areas which involve coding. Yes, the tech industry shed jobs, but I believe tech has potentials, especially in automation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics etc. But if the person is a son of a USC, how come the person did not get citizenship as a child? The USC no register am when he was born? ![]() |
HeartlessMan:Is this really true? How come I never get DM? ![]() Daris God o |
member13:Trust me, it is the best thing to do. Even within Lagos, other locations are less expensive than the Lekki-Ajah area. You would likely get the same quality of girls/women but at lower prices. Then some states have them in abundance. The good thing about these states is that the girls are naturally endowed - no lipsuction etc. The difference is that most are not open to nastier styles or fantasies. But then, a topping of say 5K can make the difference. In Lekki, that could be almost 50K. In fact, there are some states where if you live for say one month, you will have enough sex for very little amount provided you immerse yourself in the culture and learn a bit of the local language. Better still if you have someone trusted and in the game to show you around. There are strategies to these things. |
SIRTee15:THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have preached it here for donkey months that erstwhile migrants are envious how recent migrants are achieving a lot and attaining permanent residency/naturalisation quickly than they did. The career advancement, quality of universities attended and financial independence are unparalleled. E pains them and I understand how they feel. But that is life sha. |
shegzhkn:Someone opened his Agbado yansh on Twitter when he was lampooning his contemporaries for relocating because they aim to get the same thing he got via marriage. |
ChybuzzDD:Then, that is the man's fault. But then, that is what marriage is all about if not both parties having a say in how things should be done? Both genders have to adjust as the concept of marriage has changed, unlike the previous century. Anyone who cannot change should be prepared for the consequences or remain single. Change is constant. |
zanshi:A man who patronises an escort is no different from her. Such men cannot be faithful and in fact, are not faithful since the majority of the patrons are married men or those in serious relationships. It takes two to tango. These women are not sleeping with ghosts. Now tell me if you marry that kain one for house she go fit stay?Yes na. Do you work when you retire? You think escorts don't marry? Enter Lagos, hustle and move back to Kogi and get married. Who would know? On the flip side, i go to some porch bars to drink in LAG, and the economic situation of things is kinda affecting them too. A lot of them need to be seeing money weekly, bi-weekly or monthly to be balling in the hookup business. But with the way the economy dey gba, even men of means would often times think twice before dolling out N100k, N30k to some babes for some 5min fun. I was in 2 pubs early jan when i sighted that there was a ratio of 80% girls to 20% males in the club, as a matter of fact, the club was empty. There was also another that had a lot of girls but because the economy dey gba men no even look their side, they had to get their bags and walk out.It is one of the reasons the Nigerian economy confuses me. When the demand is low, one expects lower prices. But in Nigeria, the price remains. Probably the belief that there is one moneybag to spend on them, but the vast majority of these men make their money from the Nigerian economy. The only way to increase the demand is for foreign tourists to enter Nigeria steadily. If Nigeria gets enough visitors like Namibia, considering the size of both economies, businesses and associated services in the hospitality industry will profit massively. For now, the hope is on people like OP in the abroad. Unfortunately in this case, OP is more parsimonious than expected |
member13:Na so e be. It is what I keep advising folks in the abroad wey find am difficult to fvck. Establish yourself and use Nigeria to unwind. That is what being a dual citizen offers - stability and options. So, I decided to use CodedRuns because body no be firewood. This girl quoted me 80k for night and I countered with 30k. She laughed and said no. Another one quoted me 100k and would not budge. I do have the money but I am not willing to pay that kind of money for nyansh.Demand and supply. You are in the Lekki-Ajah axis, the most profitable and patronised sexual zone in Nigeria (my opinion). The demand is very high, and the supply quality is commensurate with it. If you noticed on that site, the services offered by escorts in Lekki-Ajah differ significantly from other locations. There are nastier but come at a high price. Lekki is an expensive place to live in Nigeria, so the charges by service providers would have to match. This is elementary economics. In the US where you are based, the price of an apartment in New York cannot be the same in Utah (all things being equal). So I went on Tinder and ALL the girls wanted money. The girls here are more expensive than in Yankee. How is this possible? This is very interesting. I am not even an ugly guy and I do okay with women, but Lagos girls na wa o. Even the rent here and standard of living is almost on par with where I live. (Granted I rented a place in Lekki, but still). So why do most of you complain about money? Somebody is paying these women. The problem is that you are assessing Lekki from a broader Nigerian perspective. You judge Lekki using Lekki parameters. The people who live there and patronise those ladies most likely earn in dollars, whether legit or illegitimate. You cannot stay in Lekki but expect Okokomaiko prices. It does not work out that way. Yes, people are paying these women. It is what I have preached here for donkey months, but some illiterate people who don't have money keep lambasting these women without doing the same to these men. Without the demand by men, including you, these women will fizzle out. It is that simple. What you should be interested in is how and where the major patrons of these women earn their money. That way, you would know your competitors. To understand the economics behind this, check the prices quoted in Oyo vs Lagos, Abuja vs Plateau, Rivers vs Akwa Ibom, and Delta vs Anambra. This means if you are short of cash and you want to maximise it, you go to less expensive states and enjoy the women there. Your 30K will go a long way in Cross River and even longer in Adamawa. It is economics. It is really that simple. |
BobbieZion:You contradicted yourself. What is little to him might be big to you. Spend the money on your Mom, yourself, family and friends. It is not mutually exclusive. Most of such men have helped their friends tremendously and family members. They want to unwind. Would you say the same thing if he was to purchase an expensive watch or wine? You wan spend 30k for a hoe? There is nothing wrong with this. Every service has a price range. There is 10K, 15K, 500K and even 1K per round. Every mallam to hin kettle. When there are homeless people on the streets, who are hungry.....How many homeless people have YOU assisted throughout this year? What makes you think even the most philanthropic people don't spend plenty of money on escorts? Have you donated more than Bill Gates? Elon Musk? Dangote? Jeff Bezos? Obi Cubana? Davido? What makes you think people who spend so much on sex escorts don't donate to the less privileged? You get sense at all.If you had sense, you would know that you don't dictate to other people how to spend their money. It is a very stoopid thing to do. If you don't like how he is spending HIS MONEY, make your OWN money and spend on the things YOU wished/wanted him to spend on. |
Kobojunkiee:This is the koko. Are the men prepared to partake in house chores? Are they OK with assertive and somewhat opinionated wives? Money gives people confidence and makes them bold and assertive. Are Nigerian men prepared for that? Because let's be honest, the moment she starts contributing financially to the household, she will demand a say in how things are run. The idea of siddon look and Agama-nodding to every idea and declaration by the man would fly out of the window. It is like a company. The moment you become a major shareholder, you begin to question the CEO on the moves he takes because you have a financial stake in the company even if he is more experienced than you are. Are our men prepared for that? Na why anytime una say women in the west contribute, I dey laugh. Una go fit be like western men? Una go fit allow una wives question you on things in the house? ![]() |
uncleck:I like honest people. E get why. pomp and plain. no hurt feelings. |
9. You want to marry, as a man, no be because of big yansh and breast you go carry any kind person join body in the abroad. I love yansh and breast and find our women to be beautiful, notwithstanding the living condtions they have been in. But there is more to a wife than breasts and yansh. Not because he is too handsome (good luck seeing a handsome man in Nigeria sef) and has six packs, boom! You don find husband. Una two fit compromise and tolerate each other? Una fit play the long game to prosperity? However, if you are not interested, fine and good. You are residing in a place where being single is not mocked or derided at. Just don’t carry feminism on top your head like gala and tie alfa meil aka red pill on your head like gele. 10. In a follow-up, not because of the unparalleled freedom, you think baby-mamaism or single parenting is the best thing since sliced bread. Single parent is expensive in the abroad. The governments don’t care about them. It is not Nigeria where you can drop Pikin A with a cousin and Pikin B with your mother. Daycare services are prohibitively expensive, and succour is mostly offered to married couples with children. 11. In another follow-up, no go dey born children anyhow o. Abroad is not Nigeria o. That the government needs babies does not mean you, as the immigrant, go just dey born anyhow. Raising children is expensive. 12. Don’t keep up with the Joneses. Sure, we work hard in order to enjoy our lives, but also plan for the future. You were not driving a recent model in Nigeria. Immediately you landed in the Uk, you scooped a 2021 model. Only to shout say car insurance is expensive and kini kon. Relocating to a new place is hard, expensive, heart-drenching etc. I recalled when my parents moved to where they are today, it was tough settling in, and we were one of the very few non-indigenes. Honestly, it was tough. No support system or friends to reach out to. Just OYO. But today, we are even included in community affairs and have a strong say in how things should be done. Financially, it has been fantabolous! With good planning, delayed gratification and luck (God’s blessings) on your side, things go jollof. |
7. Give yourself a minimum of five years if you went via student visa to assimilate and be stable and three years if through work visa for the same attainment. This is the reason you should be strategic with countries. If you have an admission offer from Canada and the US, I strongly urge you to choose the Canadian option. Play the long game to naturalisation and move to work in the US on a TN visa. Indians and Chinese are doing it, they don’t have two heads. However, if you have an offer from Denmark and the US, choose the US. You fit see person marry, higher salaries, English being used etc. The path to naturalisation in Denmark hits eight years to become a permanent resident. Some might ask, why is he hell-bent on permanent residency/naturalisation? Well, it offers stability and options. ALL NIGERIAN ELITES, BOTH POLITICAL AND BUSINESS, HAVE A SECOND PASSPORT. Also, you can move around to find more economic opportunities. With the global economy shaking every now and then, you need a place where you can easily grab good jobs and favourable policies that promote trade. I hear the unemployment situation in Nigeria is bad, so if you were working in the US and got sacked, by say, Facebook. Don’t expect a similar role and pay or economic opportunities in Nigeria. E no go dey easy. Someone will mention entrepreneurship, but hey, there are more dollar Nigerian millionaires in the US than in Nigeria. 8. Re-skill if need be. Fine tune and re-strategise. You might enter choose Psychology as a means of entering the country via student visa, but before you comot from the education system, arm yourself with the relevant skills and knowledge. If it is non-English speaking, learn the language. Know whether PhD is for you before you go pick wetin big pass yourself. . |
4. No sell all your property to japa. I understand all hands are not equal, but you spent a lot of years and money to acquire those assets, why dispose of them just because of japa? Rather than do so if you are married, it is better you re-invest the financial resources into your children to set them up for the future or re-skilling yourselves before you japa. Also, you might want to return to Nigeria afterwards, you need a base to start off. Tinubu might make Nigeria great again, who knows? There is nothing wrong with returning to Nigeria. Of all countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria has the most economic opportunities. Slug it out with dem Lebanese, Indians and Chinese with your education, capital, exposure and network. After all, current elites in the country did the same during their prime.Gerrard59:5. Abroad is lonely o. Don’t think people will begin to shine their teeth the way it is in Nigeria. If you think you are an introvert, you will then know say na where your introvertness stop, na there their own start, If those in places with substantial black populations are complaining every now and then, what about others in places where there are very few black people? 6. Be strategic. All countries are not equal. Some countries nack you permanent residency immediately after you finish your graduate studies and the passport strong die! Others have your years of schooling included. Some are so tough, na marriage sure pass. Others are just not realistic at all. Don’t be like the Nairlander who was encouraging folks to move to Switzerland only for me to see say na China him go find work. Even native Italians find it difficult to get jobs in Switzerland, na person from black Africa? Read the laws of the country very well. |
Sequel to these posts (https://www.nairaland.com/7645785/thinking-relocating-back-nigeria-canada; https://www.nairaland.com/7642896/how-families-pay-tens-millions). It has become common to see people complain, rightly so and understandably, about living in the abroad as been compared to how they lived in Nigeria. With my knowledge so far and experiences coupled with other people’s tales, I consider it pertinent to enlighten our folks about the A - Z of relocating to the abroad from Nigeria. 1. The younger you are, the better. Additionally, the earlier you depart, the better. If you graduated in, say, 2017 and japa’d the following year, in some countries, all things been equal, you don become permanent resident minimum and will become a naturalised citizen this year or next. As a young person, you can easily adapt and re-strategise. You can path a different course to ensure things work for you. 2.Relocating via work visa > student visa. This is more pertinent if you are married or above say 32. You get a good landing in the country and start earning immediately. Rather than spend your way to assimilate, you are paid while doing so. In most countries, you have started the process to naturalisation. Using number 1, it means if you moved to the UK in 2018 as a worker, you are almost due for ILR. 3. Know why you japa’d. No be because say Ade is doing it, you too Emeka follow. You both are not the same. Assess your reason to japa. Is it to reside in a place where things work seamlessly? Is it for a stronger passport? Do you plan to live there for life? Is it for more economic opportunities? |
pansophist:True. Considering the fact that only China has a 100% complete industrial output system, a nuclear state, a completely independent economical system that can work interdependently with others, and the global powerhouse for manufacturing. Not just internally but externally. There are a lot of Chinese outside China, including those in rural areas who can replenish the need for new workers. The West solves her demographics decline through immigration (a benefit and loss to Africa), but it has a limit, as it can induce social instability and unrest. Also, right-wing parties can spring up because of related issues associated with immigration. The US has done a great job compared to its peers regarding immigration, ditto Canada and Australia. But other European countries are in it for demographic upheaval this century. Norway, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Portugal etc. Eastern Europe own don tey, no be today. This means in the future, the EU will have a stratified market with fewer young consumers. Worst still, the immigration policies keep getting stiffer. I say this because many Westerners especially Americans, mock China for her demographics but forget their allies have it worse. I've studied the Chinese closely for years, learnt a bit of Chinese, spent a lot of time on their social media, especially zhihu, and I can tell you that if the world knows what China is, they will start learning yesterday. China is back, for good. While the West has contributed to civilisation, there is a need for balancing of global powers. Even in an economy, monopoly is a bad phenomenon. People need to have choices. I do intend to learn Chinese and do business with them. They are very pragmatic people. |
Yewandequeen:It is one of those monikers Seun creates so that their topics get to the front page. Anyting to draw traffic. No be today. |
luminouz:Old thread no doubt, but tell me, what is wrong in vasectomy for a man who wants to stop childbearing? |
tensazangetsu20:If I were in your shoes, I will do everything in powers to ensure he gets defrauded in his japa process. I am that petty. I will ensure he gets ripped off for life! |
1stGenAmerican:Agreed. [/quote]Let me clarify— my previous reply was taken out of context. Sukkot said salaries in America were drained by bills, taxes, and school fees to which I replied that there are no school fees because all children can attend public schools for free. Then of course to deflect, the goalposts were moved to something else about schools. He is used to it. No be today. |
sukkot:It must really be tough for recent black African migrants trying to raise children in the UK. I don't envy them sha. |
1stGenAmerican:Isn't it better to send one's children to a relatively good school in Nigeria and top it off with private tutoring than send to an American public high school (except the elite ones)? |
pansophist:The Chinese should not fail or else, everybody go turn to slaves. I went through the GeoPolitics subreddit, and reading the posts by Westerners about India's non-alignment and reluctance to condemn Russia reeks of arrogance. They really want India to omit Russia and align with them. They expect India to forget what the US did to her when she supported Bangladesh to gain independence. If India fvck up, na she sabi. |
xevove2061:The American economy is way more diverse than the Swiss and welcomes everybody regardless of race or ethnicity. America is better off for Nigerians than Switzerland. There are more economic sectors and opportunities for the above-intelligent Nigerian to grab in the US than in Switzerland. The way you simplify working in Switzerland, one would think it is that easy. This is a country that states that all jobs must be advertised to Swiss first, then EU/ECA citizens before foreigners. The same country has only 5000 intra-company transfer visas available each year. Once attained, that is the end. Also, foreign students are not eligible to work within the first six months of resumption and have only six months as post-school visa. Please re-read the response by Sharon to me. Our discussion was about Nigerians not native Europeans. |
seguno2:Japan was assisted by the US after being bombed with nuclear by the same Americans. Japan got unfettered access to the US/European market and even restricted or resisted purchasing American goods. They grew tremendously to the extent that economists thought she would surpass the US until the Abracadabra Plaza Accords. Low birth rates and innovation contributed though, but the Plaza Accords get as e be. The same economic benefits to the Japanese applies to the Chinese, but unlike the Japanese, they have resisted bowing down to the West. I wish China well. She should stay strong. |
demanuel:A family of two children with a monthly income of at least 250K gross in Cross River that owns the house they stay in and have at least one car is middle class. The sickness part from poverty is true, but does not negate the existence of a middle class. Ah! How country no go get middle class? So which class patronise the business establishments in the country? Lower class? No na. |
Raalsalghul:But Nigerian men are ugly na. No be today yansh dey back na. |
Ezemeiyogu:Another mumu talk. Countless people are succeeding in Canada. People should know what they signed up for and plan accordingly. Which one is don't travel to Canada? You get alternative wey dey straightforward and easy as Canada? The way you talk sef, one will think you are in Canada. Some of you people are so unrealistic. |
demanuel:It depends on the state. There is no definitive figure, and NBS is better placed to measure it. It is like you asking me to measure the unemployment rate in Nigeria. The metrics are set by economic organisations. But to say there is no middle class in Nigeria is a lie. Even Somalia has a middle class as measured using economic conditions in Somalia. |
Africa's situation, although self-inflicted due to choices made by the populace, was also caused by colonial powers. Before now, I praised East/South Asians for their economic growth, but reading through history, one will see that they were aided by Europeans/Americans aka the white man to prosper through the transfer of technical know-how and access to white man's market. In return, these Asians became allies. The same was accorded to China and even Russia with the hope both would align with them subserviently. As that did not go as envisaged, they started attacking China for ridiculous reasons. What is different in TikTok getting data from users than Facebook and Google? The so-called Ugyhurs we are told are maltreated, blacks were and are still maltreated throughout the West. Factor in the atrocities committed by Germany and Belgium in Namibia and DRC, and it only worsens. These acts laid the foundation for the Holocaust, and these acts were long after the slave trade, and the trio ran concurrently. Then came Apartheid. As black Africans, we don too suffer. So whenever I see our people nose-poking into European issues, it begs disbelief. How many European nations have condemned the massacres by Fulani herdsmen? How many have offered refugee status to the victims? After all, some of them complain that Europe would soon be Arabized. Tor! Accept the Christian victims from Taraba and Plateau, mbanu. Rather they pay Libya militias to shoot down boats in the Mediterranean Sea. OK, you want to diversify from China due to kini kon, where do you go to? Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India etc. Wetin do Africa? Wetin do Ghana, Senegal, DRC, Angola? Basic geography and demographics says Africa is better to place to serve your re-offshoring plans and can later serve as a growing consumer market. Mbanu! Oh! They don't have the technical know-how. Where did the Thais get theirs? Vietnamese nko? The chip industry is being moved to India. If moved to Nigeria, una go die? The way I see it, white folks have designed the world in such a way that black Africa remains at the bottom due to some reasons I cannot formulate. One is that due to the heinous atrocities committed by them towards us, should we become prosperous, we would pay them back in their coin and possibly worse. We will be more stubborn than the Chinese and bolder than the Russians. Add our growing and energetic demographics with established black populations in the West, we fit dey place sanctions and commit treasonable acts stealing sensitive information. |
