PoliticsRe: I Am Now Fully Convinced That Peter Obi Is Working For Tinubu by Gerrard59(m): 9:08am On Mar 01, 2023
Even though OP and I don scuffle before, we share the same view about Peter Obi's chances. His obdurate, myopic and stoopid supporters (including the intellectwats on twitter) couldn't see their folly. How was he going to win a national election when in 2019, he, Atiku and Kwankwaso being in the same party couldn't defeat Buhari? Soludo even mentioned it that if he was in Tinubu's team, he would have suggested paying Peter Obi to contest and fund Obi's campaign. He was insulted and derided.

Sukkot, it seems you're not as petty as I am. I would have quoted everyone who disagreed with me from the first page. Peter Obi's supporters are too stoopid and naive for my liking. Also, they should stop the insults. It makes them look childish and foolish. Initially, I understood and even supported the harsh backlash because APC did it to Jonathan prior to the 2015 elections. However, APC was a united combo not this divisive arrangement to unseat Buhari.

Additionally, they are too gullible if they believed Buhari wasn't going to support Tinubu because of so-called naira shortage. The same APC dazzled them during the primaries and they thought he wouldn't win. The election has further proven that the average Igbo person is too emotionally regarding politics and doesn't play his card well enough. This is your chance to enter Aso Rock, you fumbled it.

I have to agree though that Tinubu is a master political strategist. He did it when Obanikoro's son was always winning Eti-Osa and through his dad, Tinubu brought the area under their control. He convinced Wike to destabilise Atiku's chances in Rivers. He plays it crudely, but he's so good at it. I don't like his type of politics, but so far, he has always won. I give it to him.

Gra gra doesn't take anyone anywhere. Now, Northern Christians and Igbos would have to lick their wounds when they had their brightest chance in history to dominate the federal government.

Hello, everyone. I must say i am happy making my first post today after going through all the posts and responses, well done all of you. Meanwhile, I am here today on behalf of my brother who resides in Japan since 2015, married for about 4years and wants to apply for permanent residency. I would appreciate all the guide I can get
You are married, presumably to a Japanese woman, and don't know how to apply for permanent residency? Surely, you have a spousal visa, so getting PR should not be hard. It is really an easy process for a married person to a Japanese national or even a foreigner. Almost eight years, you should have at least N3, and can navigate your way through Kanji to apply for PR.

Use Japanese speaking skills and apply for PR. Honestly, the process is as simple as ABC.

P.S. It is not your brother unless you tell me your brother does not know how to use the Internet. Why do you want to know the PR process while the interested applicant resides in Japan? What happened to checking Japanese websites? Why Nairaland? You should be here to narrate to Nigerians in Nigeria how to apply for permanent residency, not asking Nigerians in Nigeria how to apply for permanent residency in Japan when you reside in the country. If you are still interested in knowing from a Nigerian perspective, join the Nigerians in Japan Facebook group to ask your questions. There are few Nairalanders residing in Japan who would know the process of applying for permanent residency.

I loved it when I went there.
They are generally happy people. Most francophone African countries are that way though. Life of the party, honest and easy-going.

The part of treating women like eggs is correct too. My mum told us a story of how she went to one African country and a new mother came home gloomy. She thought they lost the baby, only for them to tell her the woman had a baby boy. She never got over the shock until she left there. They protect their women. Nigerian men are probably the only ones in Africa that throw their women under the bus, privately and publicly for a cent. Maybe nothing sef.

Nigerian youths do not go there because it is for hustlers. These countries are not new to us and some of our uncles/aunties rocked it in the 60s to 90s. It just doesn’t make sense to most youths to go to school and migrate to Benin Republic to sell synthetic weavon and hair oil.
A major problem is that our kind of entrepreneurship is not structured compared to Indians or Lebanese. Nothing stops people from partnering to own factories that process raw materials into semi-finished products and sell to Nigeria and the wider sub-continent. Run a standard restaurant with impeccable service delivery etc.

This one that OP mentioned agriculture, it might interest me sef.

Who will vote a conc Hausa-Fulani Muslim against a Lagos Yoruba Muslim?
Your name already looks and sounds Islamic.

Mauritius has zero trade agreements with both countries so on what visa is he gonna move to Mauritius. Even if he stays and becomes a Mauritius citizen it will still not be easy to enter America.
Their visa waiting timelines should be shorter than Nigeria and it is easier immigrating to a developed country when in a seemingly developed country. I think that is his point. Also, getting remote jobs from Mauritius should be easier, and maybe, just maybe, tech roles in finance firms.

Point of correction, Tinubu won because modafvckers believed Peter Obi can win a national election. The deluded monkeys said he would win Southern Nigeria, yet could not win any state outside Lagos (for obvious reasons) in the SW, and lost states in the south south. As long as Peter Obi stayed in LP, he was going to lose. I predicted this and OP was one of those screaming Obi would win. Let come and win na.

As for japa, I predicted it would rise once Tinubu wins the election, which he has done. The best time to get a ten-year-old passport is now. If Obidients like, let them be as deluded when they read my message.

Tinubu deserves to win anyway. He played his cards very well.

PoliticsRe: Why Peter Obi Has To Step Down For Atiku Abubakar by Gerrard59(op): 3:07pm On Feb 28, 2023
Gerrard59:
With this analysis, wherever Tinubu’s chances are higher, Peter Obi’s are lower and vice-versa. However, the issue is: the people who would vote for Peter Obi are folks who have historically voted for the PDP and did vote for Atiku in 2019. This means he (Peter Obi) is not getting fresh voters from groups that did not vote for the PDP in 2015 and 2019. For instance, in 2019, almost a million people in Southern Kaduna voted for the PDP. In 2023, some of those people will vote for the Labour Party further reducing the votes PDP would have garnered. Let’s face it: the Labour Party does not have structures in the hinterlands of the country or die-hard/historical voters.

The same thing applies to the south-east and south-south. In these regions, Peter’s chances are higher but these are people that have consistently and historically voted for the PDP across all electoral positions. For instance, prior to the senatorial elections in 2019, Godswill Akpabio defected to the APC and lost resoundingly to the PDP. Mind you, this was the same position he won with a landslide when he aspired for it in 2015 under the PDP. Why? The voters in his senatorial district voted against him mainly because he defected to the APC. These are core/die-hard PDP supporters. In 2023, these people will not vote for the APC due to its Muslim-Muslim combination but will divide their votes between the Labour Party and the PDP. The inclusion of Peter Obi in the presidential election does more harm than good to the PDP and his ethnic group, ditto ethnic minorities in general. I understand the pain of the south-east that the PDP chose a Fulani northerner as its candidate, but the reality is: an Igbo man cannot be Nigeria’s president in its present state. Kwankwaso echoed it, and I am saying that is the reality. The alternative is to have an Igbo man as the VP and Okowa does this beautifully, something Peter should have been the one had he remained in the PDP.

Again, a vote for Peter Obi and the Labour Party is a vote for Tinubu. Where-ever PDP could have competed greatly with the APC, Labour Party snatches those vital votes, and this affects PDP’s odds while increasing Tinubu’s. Even prominent APC’s supporters have said the same (screenshot attached). Peter Obi cannot win the presidential election, and his inclusion affects PDP’s chances and increases the prospects of having a Muslim-Muslim presidency.

In summary, Peter Gregory Obi should step down for Atiku Abubakar.
The anger in me reading this again is at high levels. Let me catch any Igbo person cry marginalisation, it is God that would punish you. Tinubu can do whatever he likes against you people, you deserve it. In your next life, you would learn to be pragmatic.

Even if the election is cancelled, they will still prefer obi shortcut to run alone and repeat the same failure. Instead of finalising talk and plan with Atiku for 2027 which am sure APC will also field somebody from the SE to counter PDP plan for 2027.

My people from the SE, please take heart, wait till 2031, oh no! Wait till 2039 because Hausa will take it back after Tinubu 8yrs.
I was preaching this all the time on Twitter that Peter Obi should step down for Atiku as he canntot win a national election. I knew it that Yorubas would vote their oga. Even if you pair Obi vs Atiku in the SW, Atiku would win. That is the truth. These modafvckers don't know Nigeria's history. Idiots are screaming rigging. What rigging when you have divided votes that could have shattered any chance of rigging? The obduracy and foolishness are my greatest annoyance. People who cut off the face to spite the nose. They wanted Obi to preside over Kwankwaso. Man, the idiocy!

It pains me as my dad is Igbo and mom Ibibio. I wanted real economic development to come to the region, and this was the best chance. Also, I wanted some who can protect Northern Christians' best interests. Now, these modafvckers have defeated them. Let me catch any Igbo person who laments of marginalisation and s/he voted for Peter Obi, I will spit on the person's face. As for Northern Christians, I can forgive them as too much murders can distort one's reasoning. I would tirelessly mock those Igbos who have been shouting up and down that Obi will win.

I'm from the middle belt but this doesn't look good for us Christians up north. Ordinarily, religion shouldn't be a criteria for leadership. But somehow, these guys have been able to weaponized it to their advantage. You'll see people getting denied what they are very qualified for simply because they don't reference Allah and Muh'd.

This country ehn SMH
Learn Yoruba, and leave your region. Move to the SW - it has always been Nigeria's most prosperous region. With Tinubu's victory, no region would see its back economically. I recall Udom speaking when he narrated how Tinubu insulted him, notwithstanding their shared history. How he lamented that he has not been able to get approval for Ibom Deep Seaport. I saw in him that things would get better by having Atiku in the office. How on earth was Obi going to win the north west where he needed fresh voters?! Atiku has won states there and one in the SW, while coming second except Lagos - which they won as a pair in 2019.

On the other hand, just prepare to lose your lands. That is just the truth. If you notice, those SW based churches never protested or shouted that Northern Christians are being butchered. The last time Adeboye went to the north was to beg El-Rufai to talk to his boys who kidnapped RCCG members. Calling El-Rufai a "kind and caring man". Is that the kind of Christian leader you expect would defend your interests? Have you heard him cough notwithstanding the relentless slaughtering of preists and pastors in the north? Imagine El-Rufai as the Defence minister? No be die be that?

So, lose your land, but not your lives. If your sons are not plenty, have your daughters marry Igbo men, and maybe Yoruba Christian men (assuming they don't dissuade them from marrying outside as APC Yoruba folks keep insinuating). Or else, una go become history in about twenty years.

They failed themselves. They should have listened to Dogara and pressured Peter Obi to step down. They should know better since they are at the forefront of economic and insecurity attacks. Christians in Adamawa/Taraba live safer lives than those in Kaduna or Niger. How would that have been possible if Atiku is a religious bigot? They have more economic freedom in those places than their counterparts in Sokoto or Borno. So, why not have him in power?

Nonetheless, they would know their enemies going forward. Only a deluded Northern Christian would still attend RCCG, Mountain of Fire and Deeper Life. As for the likes of Covenant Christian Centre and HOTR, those ones don't know anywhere north of Abuja.

I have read some of your posts relating to the election and your views align with mine. Although, mine is extremely because when analysing Nigeria's issues, I always expect the worst. I wonder what those naive "intellectushuals" on TwitterNG were thinking. The kind of bile secreted by APC folks during this campaign is enough to ensure they get booted out. How possible if people don't pair up? Now, some of the modafvckers are hoping for a re-run so that they vote Atiku. Something they should have done right from Day 1.

Nevertheless, I maintain my stance that Christians, both Northern and Igbos, go hear wheyn. I will always remind them of their stoopidty. The naivety and childnesses is befuddling.

People say Fulani to Fulani but forget that Atiku is way liberal and cosmopolitan than Buhari. Someone you can relate to from all parts of the country. It is why, just like I predicted, he came second in all SW states except Lagos. Only him had a natural national spread, not Tinubu. Even without votes buying or rigging, Atiku can garner votes from all parts of the country comfortably than Tinubu. That shows his patriotism. But unam ikots said Peter Obi will win southern Nigeria. grin

Even though we parted ways due to his Buhari's support, I agreed with his projections. You did not defeat Buhari in 2019 while united, it is doing so in 2023 against a man who would lock his region and have sympathetic votes from the north?

Then the foolish ones said "let's waste our votes". I have never seen people so foolish and stoopid! The best time/chance to remove this set of APC leaders was now as Buhari has nothing at stake. Just as electing Buhari was a mistake because there was no way he would lose in 2019. Then the modafvckers believe they would oust Tinubu who has owned Lagos and the wider SW since 1999? With all the mouth, PO won only two states in the SS.

As for court, that is not possible. Lawyers go just chop money. The CJN is a Yoruba man and Nigeria is not Anambra. Just as I have always reminded those who campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015, let me catch any Igbo whining that Tinubu is tribalistic or cry marginalisation.

Raalsalghul:
With it being very clear that Tinubu will emerge the winner of the elections, what's your prediction for the state of affairs in the next eight years of his rule.

At least, make guys start to dey prepare.
1. A Muslim northerner will succeed Tinubu after eight years. The Muslim northerner will choose a Yoruba Muslim as his running mate. The bigwigs in APC SW are mostly Muslims. With Tinubu's presidency, they will cement their influence and power. Which means, for 24 uninterrupted years, Muslims will head Nigeria. The influence of the church will decline as division creeps in. Already, the elections have shown that Nigerian Christians are not united in the face of Muslim-Muslim presidency. Like I predicted on Twitter last year, should APC win in 2023, no Christian would get into Aso Rock for the next 16 years.

2. In two decades, Nigeria's Muslim population will not only increase by influence, but by actual numbers. Maximum of 30 years, I expect Nigeria to have a solidified Muslim majority, and becoming an Islamic Republic. Christians would be economically disadvantaged with some conevrting to Islam and these rich Muslims marrying the daughters of Christians, including those in the south south and south east. The Christian men are obviously very poor due to limited economic opportunities and a large number having relocated. Men japa more than women. These women cannot remain single forever. This is already happening in Northern Nigeria and will extend to the east. During the relentless onslaught towards Northern Nigeria's Christians two years ago, I told someone who mimcks as a geopolitical analyst that Nigeria will have a Muslim majority by 2050. He said I was talking nonsense. Last year, he saw that Christians' birth rates in the south have declined while the north keeps increasing. Add the economic destruction Northern Christians have faced, it means their population has declined further. Expect to see Ezinne Mohammed and Ekaette Umar. grin

3. As for igbos in a Tinubu's administration, they should expect economic warfare. Buhari did military warfare, expect economic destruction. The kind of Yorubas who support APC feverntly DO NOT like Igbos. They will do everything in their powers to deal with Igbos economically. With people like El-Rufai and Shettima, the job will done clinically. Igbos go get crumbs (assuming they get anything in the first place). These events will further reduce the wealth and birth rates of Igbos. Again, as an Igbo person, it is better you build your wealth and investment outside Nigeria. I stated this, but got insulted. As usual, when it happens, I will be here to gloat.

4. Y'all start learning Yoruba o and the Koran. It will be very important in seeking contracts and plum federal jobs.

5. As for the economy, the south west and the north will benefit economically. The rest of the country won't. Nigeria as a whole will not prosper because of the ethnic fractures - divisive countries never prosper. Since the south west will benefit economically, it is why number 4 is very important.

As usual, some will curse me and say I am lying. But as usual, I will be here to remind them and gloat. grin grin grin grin

The OP makes no damn sense. The youth of this country have wakened up. Atiku and Tinubu will share northern Muslim votes. Northern Muslim votes alone couldn't make Buhari president on three different occasions. 90% of the entire Northern and Southern Christian vote is for Peter Obi don't get it twisted.
Go and tell those in Ogun, Oyo, EKITI and ONDO!
