TravelRe: Why Are Nigerians Japing To The UK When UK Workers are On Strike For Poor Salary by Gerrard59(m): 4:48pm On Dec 24, 2022
ahiboilandgas:
Almost all workers are complaining in the UK and everbody is on strike on wage issue from trainr drivers to ambulance to teachers to nurses to university on strike They are complaining of poor pay debt and leaving the job . But Nigerians that are well paid are also leaving on student visa to join the strike in the .UK or cannot see the cost of living crisis in the UK . Is there something else
Nigerans are the at bottom of the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs compared to British citizens. Both parties don't see issues with the same eyes. It is like saying a Haitian should not aspire to work in Nigeria considering Nigeria's issues. Or someone living Gombe should not move to Lagos to look for work because Lagos is expensive.

People take actions using their economic conditions as the major reason. You people should learn a thing or two about basic economics. It is tiring at this point. Shey una follow attend public universities like I did?

Exactly what many of my countrymen have failed to understand. There's no place like home o. Unfortunately at the moment, home doesn't feel like so much due to our myriad of problems.

The least I think we can do is to try to solve as many as we can starting with the little that we can. Travel abroad if you must but try to remember home
Home must not be Nigeria. There are many black dominated countries that are seemingly safe, although not prosperous like non-black dominated countries, people can settle there.

I hope you understand that human want is insatiable. Those with dual citizenship are now trying to get a third one. Those with three are trying to get the fourth.

At the end of it all, what are you trying to mitigate exactly? War situation? Pray make dem no ground airport na cheesy

Bold of you to think that those Russian Billionaires can escape criticisms and attacks because of foreign passports. You think foreign citizenship on a black skin will change anything in the event of a full blown racism, xenophobia, ethnic crisis, or war situation?

At the end of it all, these people know their "own" o. A foreign passport will get you easy access (typically) but it won't help your integration process one bit. So just in case you're trying to guard against a crisis situation or discrimination, you may need to read your history again.
I perfectly agree with this. The way I see it, the best plan is to settle in a black dominated country that is seemingly functional and safe. However, Nigeria is not any of the two. Alternatively, people should understand that humans are very discriminatory and should not be surprised when they witness such acts. An example is what happened when the war in Ukraine started.

Yes, the big booty Asians in Bali are Indonesian. And yes, some of them have booties like Latinas and black girls. I was intrigued by it.

Considering Indonesia has an indigenous native black population in its West Papua province, I imagine those genes have mixed in with the general population. So booty traits are in the gene pool cheesy.

West Papua should really be part of the country Papua New Guinea, but it's a province of Indonesia. I met a few black people from West Papua, in Bali. They invited me to have a nice drink with them, and told me a lot about Papua. The guy, who was the son of West Papua's Senate Leader invited me to Papua, with the promise of free accommodation and all kinds of hosting, if I came. I never made it there though
Yeah, an Indonesian acquaintance told me about them.

Nah, I haven't done much traveling in that region, as I find it a bit unappealing. I have met many people from these countries though. These places are mostly tourist traps, with nothing much to offer outside of the resorts. Bermuda (which isn't an actual country), is the only somewhat prosperous one, with a strong financial industry. Met many Bermudians in the US, as they visit often. Bermuda is really just a self-governing British territory.
Interesting. I have always thought Bahamas and Barbados are richer than Bermuda.

I rather send my children to study at Ambassadors College or Loyola Jesuit College than any secular secondary school in the west. Even in the US or anywhere western, it would be a school run and maintained by the Catholic Church.

I think Brazilian girls are overrated, in all aspects they're famous for. Both beauty and booty. After living in Brazil for nearly a year, that's my opinion.

Too many girls with body implants, and too many obese females. This is odd, because most men in Rio, for instance are in athletic shape. It's one of those places where the men look far better than the women. There are obese men, but not nearly as many.

When a girl does have a nice natural booty, it's glorious, but you don't see that every day. Brazil recently went through an economic boom, which lifted many out of poverty and into the lower and upper middle class. Naija people would say "this person don fat up," to mean they've made some money and can now afford enough food to get fat on. That's Brazil right now.

Since we're comparing SE Asia and South America, if you ever wondered what country in SE Asia (or Asia) you can find natural booties similar to South America, it's without a doubt Bali, Indonesia cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised.

Attached Pics:

Both on Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro. The obesity issue is observable.
MrBrownJay1 calls them baby-whales. grin Just like, MrBrown has travelled to different parts of the world.

I am surprised and somehow disappointed in Brazillan men for being fit while their ladies are obese. Men create the society and women fit in. Not surprising how Lagos men wanted flat tummies and the ladies responded with surgeries and gym membership. Brazilian men remind me of men in one south south state where the women have pot-bellies. grin

The women with those booties in Bali, are they the natives? I understand mainland Indonesia is radically different from Bali, but I am surprised considering Asian women don't naturally have big yanshes

I noticed you have not been to the likes of Bahamas, Barbados or Bermuda, I for throw some questions.

Thanks a lot for answering my previous questions. So to the bold, how is the booty in Brazil and all of South America? And how do you compare the economy or economic activities in South America vs East/South East Asia? I understand East Asia is richer than South America, but desire to read about your observations.

We cannot blame Biden, the guy is a human being just anyone with common sense. He visited Europe because this is where his ancestors came from, this despite the fact that European-Americans do not get really alone with those who stead in Europe.
The most powerful Jews in America are working on behalf of Israel
The mots powerful Arabs are working to push for the interest of the middle East
Powerful European-America worked hard to rebuild Europe after WW2 , (see Marshal Plan),
What do you see with the so-called "African- Americans"? Too many of them despise Africans the most
They prefer Latinos and other people to Africans.
Where did Condoleeza go first when she was appointed as secretary of State? France .
When did Barack Obama come to Africa ? During his second term ( or at least three years after taking office ).
Who was spying on Lumumba in the Congo in the 1960s ? Do some research.

If there is a continent to nuke and African-Americans are asked which one, you bet an overwhelming number will say AFRICA.
Those strongly believe that we sold them. They are extremely bitter against African immigrants.
They will even discourage White people from doing any good thing here.
Fortunately, other markets such as China , India, Russia etc. offer opportunities to us and we can forget about
America.
The only way to have Africa-Americans respect not like us (it is not a must they must like us) is for black Africa to be very prosperous. If Nigeria is as rich as Germany, Kenya as South Korea, South Africa as rich as Brazil, DRC as Australia, Ghana as Chile, Gabon and other smaller countries like Spain, Portugal, Singapore, Norway etc, there is no way they won't want to associate with us. An instance is the music industry. During the 2000s, na we dey do begi-begi to play their songs or feature them. Today, due to our exploits, they are the ones trying to associate with us and doing gum-body. Our music has gone beyond borders, and our musicians are controlling crowds. Quite unfortunate what happened to Asake's concert in London, but when I read that close to 5K people were within the premises, I was stunned and impressed. It shows our music industry is powerful. The same crowds thronged when Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy held concerts. Even Naira Marley had a full house. I follow some Afro-concert organisers in Europe and North America, the unifying aspect of all events they organise is that Nigerian musicians dominate the scenes. It has gotten to the extent that apart from the US, many non-blacks don't give a hoot about African Americans' songs except for niche areas like Jazz and Rap and to the widely popular musicians. When our musicians control crowds in East and South East Asia, then trust me, it is finished. It is the reason Nigeria should revamp its visa policies. Offer visa access to Chinese, Koreans, Singaporeans, Japanese, Malaysians and even Emiratis. Basically, offer visa free access to citizens of countries with at least $30K GDP per capita, subject to population figures

If the same growth of our music industry and very soon the movie industry applies to economies of sub-Saharan Africa, I bet you, the average Kenyan will rather look up to Nigeria for decisions affecting black people globally rather than African Americans. Wealth is power and success has many friends. No one disrespects a rich person.

https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2022/dec/16/nobel-prize-winner-criticises-western-neglect-and-urges-action-over-drc-violence

The Nobel peace laureate criticised western leaders for siding with Paul Kagame in the perennial conflict in Eastern DRC. In his words (paraphrased), he asked: why don't western leaders ensure the people of the DRC enjoy their natural resources like those in Australia, Chile and Indonesia? Reading those words, I felt his pain, anger and disgust. Although I have not read the book, but wetin oyibos, especially Belgians did to Congolese no good (https://www.amazon.com/King-Leopolds-Ghost-Heroism-Colonial/dp/0618001905). Almost similar to if not worse than what the Germans did to Namibians (The Kaiser's Holocaust: Germany's Forgotten Genocide and the Colonial Roots of Nazism ) in the 19th to 20 centuries.
pansophist:
Yes, France is the sore thumb, and for good reason. France is the only NATO country that told the US to close all its military bases and get out of France, refused to be a part of NATINADS, and when the US refused, France threatened to leave Nato, then the US succumb and left. France is the only major power that doesn't have a US military base in its territory.

And I think the Anglo-Saxons haven't forgiven France for that. Also, how they backstabbed France a few years ago with the snatching of the 90 billion USD contracts with Australia was an example of that. France is an empire state, and its relationship with the US is like that of a lion and a tiger. Mutual respect, but if you enter my territory, we will fight.
Even though we don scuffle before, I really appreciate your eye-opening posts about western hegemony. From my observations so far, the world is a brutal place and people should strive to play to their strengths and gather allies. While it might seem that oyibos are trying to recompense for their atrocities through diversity and inclusion initiatives, I don't think the Arabs (Trans-Saharan slave trade) or Chinese (Covid discrimination against black Africans) would be any different. The koko is to play according to one's strength and negotiate very well. Unfortunately, our elites aren't learning such. Make I no lie, black Africans na boy boy for this world. Turkey-African summit, China-African summit, Japan-African meeting, US-African symposium, France-African discussion, India-African discourse, UK-African meeting, Germany-African meeting etc. Whenever a country calls the continent, everyone go pack kaya heading to the country's capital. Wetin pain me na that thespian wey call himself Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructing African countries to vote against Russia. I kinda like what some did by abstaining or voting for Russia. People should not forget history, at least quickly.

Another thing black Africans need to do is to stop doing attache. I witnessed this during the World Cup by saying they would not support Morocco because the team said they were doing it for the Arab World. I no understand the "you must like me by-force" by most black people. If person no like you, snub the person. Do as if the person never existed. BTW sef, Moroccans are unfortunately located in Africa but are culturally, religiously, and ethnically Arabs. So when blacks dey do "oh no, you are African, it is by-fore, by-force", it sounds like beggi-beggi. The same also applies to African Americans. If they show signs that they don't like your presence, as a black African, do as if they never existed. And to be honest, their experiences differ from ours. Even Somalis and Sudanese, as unfortunate as their conditions are, they don't see themselves as blacks but Arabs. I have seen one here, she no give me face, me? I do as if she did not pass. However, I have come across black Africans who give face, and I do the same in return. Dem no dey dash person respect, you have to earn it. Everyone must not like you. In fact, if everyone likes you, it shows there is a problem.

Also, during your travelling experiences, what are the fundamental differences between a black African and an African American or blacks from European countries? How do you differentiate which from which before converation (if it ever occurs)? Like, you see a black person across the road, how are you able to judge whether this person is from Africa or a western country or the Caribbeans?

You don't need proof of funds as a prospective employee. The company will include your salary band in the application document at the immigration bureau. At this point, what you need is the COE - it is extremely important.

Studymore123:
Oga, calm down.....it's not by calling people names.

You wrote a lot of things and even took it personal but the question is: Do people really discourage others from travelling?

It's good if we separate facts from emotion. The sad reality is most Nigerians cannot travel. Most want to travel but are unable to do so, that's why travelling agents cash out big time. It's people like you that encourage others to waste their money instead of facing realities
Where did I claim that Nigerians are the most travelled or that everybody should leave Nigeria? shocked I am a big respecter of people's choices and will always respect what people decide to do with their lives. However, I will always call out hypocrites who did the same thing (relocation) yet constantly criticise/dissuade others from doing the same. That is HYPOCRISY AND BEING DISINGENUOUS Why should I not call out the hypocrisy of someone who has been in the UK for donkey years who lampooned Rita Dominic for hosting her wedding ceremony in the UK? Why should I not call out someone who has a British passport yet creates threads upon threads dissuading others from doing the same thing?

You think I should condone hypocrites? huh

The fact remains that Nobody can or is able to stop others. That others have a different perspective from yours doesn't translate to discouraging others. For example I just saw a thread of a guy that travelled through brazil to end up in the US. Others are on the same route, that's to tell you the mindset of the average Nigerian It's clear from your posts that you're not in Nigeria otherwise you'll save yourself those epistles. People are taking drastic steps and risking their lives but you're just focusing on others as if you have personal issues with them.
What I encourage others is if you have the opportunity to travel do so but don't endanger your life or waste your resources.
I have never encouraged illegal migration. So, I don't see why you are mentioning me regarding someone going through the Amazon to migrate.

If you so much want others to travel out of the country, it's not by stating it online and insulting others. Make moves, educate others, give them the needed information and funds. That's what counts for me and not writing long epistles as if what you wrote would translate to visa issuance for others. There've been several people like you that "shout" online but when a new traveler will reach out to them in the new country, they'll refuse to pick calls
The best way to phrase this is: have you offered advice to people who want to migrate? You don't go ahead to put words into the person's fingers esp when evidence shows you assumed wrongly. I have written comprehensive posts about migration. In fact, in the post I made initially, I embedded a post I made two years ago on what prospective migrants should do:

Gerrard59:
I feel I should try to elucidate some things with my little knowledge on migration:

- Individuals should understand that at the end of the day, your finances (aka money) is more important than the destination. You can have all the dreams (anyone can dream) but to actualise those dreams, you need the money. Mere sending documents via courier costs a lot and you might be required to send more than once. Another expense is English proficiency tests, I keep reading folks who ask about the possibility of getting admission without writing these tests (GRE, GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL etc) but you need to understand schools who would waive these tests (majority do now because of Covid-19) are low ranking, won't offer scholarships and will be expensive. The last thing I can advise a black African to do is to attend a low ranking institution abroad, don't compare yourself to blacks there who are citizens. Is it bank balance statement? Flight tickets? Living expenses? School fees? Quarantine period expenses? Tests' costs? So, everything boils to money. Start saving rigorously but do so in dollars (I got to know this hack from Kemi Onabanjo - associate partner @McKinsey&Co who went to INSEAD, France - who saved the bulk of her school fees in dollars before devaluation occured five years ago as a result of decline in crude oil prices) not naira, and save under your pillow. Emefiele aka Meffy has been very funny. .

- Study the countries' route to citizenship (the outright goal for many here, I believe). The longer it takes, the more discouraging. A country like Switzerland should not be on your radar but Austria should. Policies can change but you should be strategic and think long term. However, in some cases, you can aim to study in a Country A and use the degree to work in Country B whose route to citizenship is easier. Does not sound easy but hey, nothing good comes easy. For instance, we know schooling in Canada is expensive (the person I know who finished there has uncles working in ExxonMobil & Shell) and the requirements from the embassy is one of a kind. Mind you, 8 out of 10 students are denied student visas (https://qz.com/africa/1708714/canada-rejects-most-african-student-visa-applicants/). But if your aim is to work/live in Canada, you could do that by aiming to get a graduate program that is fully funded in the US, preferably a top university. Finish from there and apply for jobs in Canada. Why the US for graduate studies? The US is the number one country in funding grad students, a place where the higher education system is well developed and has disproportionately the highest number of top universities globally according to the top three higher education ranking agencies (ARWU, QS & THEducation). Canada does not fund grad students as much as the US esp in MSc courses. Like I said, target top universities. A degree from Cornell University would not be downgraded irrespective of the colour of your skin or nationality (quotas might exist). But remember, to get a funded position in most US universities, you need to write the GRE, GMAT &/or TOEFL, so get ready.

Best wishes!
Also, I have written that there are certain countries Nigerians should not target, namely Switzerland and Singapore, due to their immigration policies. If that is not advice, I don't know what else it is. That was how the richest brostitute accused me of posting rubbish in this section only to lurk around Covenant and Babcock looking for a homely wife (euphemism for a lady whose parents are dual nationals) or wanting to plough 50 million naira into CBI.

Other Nlders have messaged me about migration, and I took time to elucidate the processes. One almost turned me to his travel consultant by asking me too many questions, most of which can be found online. One thing is certain, I give detailed explanations and don't claim what I am not. I am not an agent, in fact, I discourage using agents even for booking tickets. Na CBN policy make me use travel agent to book ticket.

On the issue of 2nd passport. It has benefits but doesn't translate to travel. Travelling requires time and money. Many Americans doesn't have a passport and for those who do about 10% have been to 10 or more countries That tells you that only a few really travel.

Lets state facts and stop getting emotional over trivial issues.
While your first sentence is true, for the bold, it is very logical for the average American to travel less, considering the breadth of the US and what she offers. Except for wildlife, cultural attractions and few other reasons, there is really no need for an American to travel outside the US for leisure. However, Europeans for instance travel a lot and a Nigerian with just the Nigerian passport living in the EU will be constrained in doing so.

Finally, I dislike hypocrites and dishonest people, and I will continue to call out their wickedness, hypocrisies and dishonesty. You cannot possess an American passport yet your past-time is making posts on why young Africans should not move to the US.

YOU SEE THAT THING? i WILL CALL OUT THE HYPOCRISY!

I just got my employment letter from a school in Japan as an ALT. I really don't know where to start the whole Visa process. I would really appreciate help from those who have experience with Japanese visa process. Thank you.
The school has to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility at the prefecture's immigration bureau she is based. It is that COE that you present to the embassy and the accompanying documents. The application period of the COE takes a maximum of three months. The company (school in this case) has no control over its approval or denial status. Without the COE, you cannot get a visa to enter Japan.

Very insightful post. Thank you.

On a lighter note, what's your definition of (or who do you call) Woke people? Lol
People who believe the world should be what they want it to be rather than what it is. Woke people tend to be very optimistic or foolishly ignorant. They believe all cultures are equal or all humans are the same or should behave the same or all opportunities will lead to the same outcomes. They don't acknowledge the differences in humans, rather they want humans to behave as they deem right.

Now to the annoying aspect, they don't practice what they preach and they constantly preach what they don't practice. These miscreants scream for open borders but are very conscious of who they let into their homes. To them, citizens of countries who advocate for stringent immigration policies are racist, but they never see themselves as regular humans who want to control access to his/her home. They chant for the diversity of opinions but ONLY demand for opinions that align with theirs. They never take corrections or criticisms. Some of them even believe that mathematics is racist or the average black African should be bothered with homosexuality when he has not seen food to chop nor electricity to iron his clothes. But the unam ikots will chant hUmAn rIgHtS. According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, that is not possible. Someone trying to earn a living in Lokoja is bothered about food and security, not the right of a man to put his smelly preek into the yansh of another man. It is simple economics and sometimes culture. No matter how rich Qataris are, they are not interested in the right of men to phuck men, but the olodos woke people will disagree because to these fvcktards, all humans are equal and behave in the same manner.

Also, they don't understand the effects of simple economics and how economics affects how the average human behaves. Woke people will expect black Africans to react the same way as African Americans if a woman in South Korea touches a Ghanaian woman's hair simply because she is black. Or constantly whine that visa free travel is racist. In contrast, Bahamians have visa free access to over 80 countries. Are Bahamians white people? But these miscreants would never understand. They are so annoying, uneducated and profoundly foolish. Woke people don't understand that the average human is very discriminatory and will always discriminate against one another whenever the opportunity arises. Is overt discrimination a terribly bad thing? Yes, however, people should not expect humans to change their innate behaviours but rather understand them and work around it.

at the italicized, aside maybe Iyin Aboyeji and Paga, who else in this long list you surmised came back to become a boss?? Ezra didn't have to use express entry to be successful today, just as Toolz and Tunde Demuren are from privileged households and would have money whether in Naija or Poughkeepsie. Examples like Dbanj and Donjazzy and many of the other you reeled out even further hurt this your point If you wanna get passports to travel and all what not, your choice, all well and good, but let's keep it at that. Most of those middle aged japa people that have come back now, how many you know of that are bosses? Traveling abroad for whatever reason/purpose and being a 'boss' in the way I think you meant it, are very mutually exclusive. No need riveting them together.
My point is, people would always migrate as long as the economic reason makes sense for them to do it. They can decide to return or not. This your boss mindset is your personal opinion. Some people are not interested in being entrepreneurs, earn well, and that is enough. I have stated in the last sentence that many would be employees, not employers. This belief that everyone must be an entrepreneur is the reason POS stalls outnumber hospitals in Nigeria. Why? cReAtE a bUsInEsS. I was part of the interview coaching assessment where a man in his mid-30s came for prep to be interviewed at Sahara Group. This man studied at one of the federal universities in the South West and did his MSc and PhD at the University of Georgia. To you, since he is returning to Nigeria, he must start his own energy company. That is not how it is done elsewhere. There will always be more employees than employers. Even the Sahara Group sef was co-founded by a man - Tonye Cole - who japa'd to Brazil to do his MSc in Architecture even though his dad was a one-time ambassador.

BTW, middle age people that came back? The man I mentioned who studied at Cambridge returned and started his business. Others decided to work in Nigerian companies either as expats or Nigerian nationals. Every mallam to his kettle. About Ezra and Shola, they honed their skills and made it. However, their contemporaries are also leaving so that they attain those citizenships and currently work in top firms in the abroad. It is their choice to remain there or not. Whether they become boss or not is their personal problem. Ezra and Shola as they are can decide to buy Grendaian citizenship as they have the money (https://www.aljazeera.com/features/2020/12/10/wealthy-nigerians-buying-citizenship-overseas), but should the next Tom and Harry wait till they blow? Again, Ezra and Shola are entrepreneurs who made it, but what about the numerous others who will be employees? Should they not utilise the opportunity when it is available? Without sounding like a broken record, many will return, give it time. Unless you want to propose a bill prohibiting diasporans from returning to Nigeria. But hey, that bill has to pass through Mr Femi of the HoR, who once studied and worked in the US. grin

Honestly, other than the people, Buenos Aires is a much nicer and bigger city. BA = 15+ million people. Montevideo = 1.3 million.

I'd recommend visiting both, if you're in the area. Getting to Colonia, Uruguay from Buenos Aires takes 1 hour by boat. Then a 3-hour bus ride to Montevideo, if you want to enjoy the rural scenery along the way.

Or you could take a 1-hour flight, direct from Buenos Aires to Montevideo. Many people visit Argentina and only visit Uruguay for a day-trip to Colonia, and return the same day.
How does the average Argentine cope with runaway inflation? I understand it is South America's Zimbabwe and Lebanon (Venezuela is a different kettle of fish)?
TravelRe: The Importance Of Acquiring A Second Passport For A Young Nigerian by Gerrard59(m): 5:29pm On Dec 19, 2022
Anyone who does not know this is a profound ignoramus, no ifs or buts. Those who know it but intentionally dissuade or discourage others from doing it are wicked and barbaric. There are many of them here, from Redsun (who has been in the UK for donkey years) to Sukkot (who is a British citizen) to 1Sharon (another British citizen) to my favourite - Dasparrow - a woman who loathes Nigerians and in particular Nigerian men. Hers is even crueller as she relocated from the west to Nigeria, hated what she experienced and fled to a no-name country in Central America. What does she do on Nairaland? Internet Witchcraft! She dissuades and tells young and ambitious Nigerians not to relocate abroad. What she does not say is that she has not let go of her European citizenship. Another one is EgunMogajji, who is an American citizen and a proud serial divorcee that stays somewhere in Ibadan and married a 20-something year lady. He constantly preaches that you should not bother having a second passport, but he has one and even his first daughter studies at Stanford as an American citizen. What about Nairaland's richest brostitute? Seatrade, who with his previous moniker, mocked diasporans only for him to create a thread disguising that his friend wants to know how to obtain American citizenship. https://www.nairaland.com/6742025/citizenship-investment-canada-usa#105611566 No wonder he is lurking around Covenant University or Babcock to grab a girl from an upper-middle-class family (hoping that she is a dual citizen), even though his character befits women from IMSU or Oko Polytechnic.

Gerrard59:
Mr SeaTrade who accused me of posting rubbish on the Travel Section also wants to japa (it's no friend of yours, I'm too old on Nairaland to fall for such deceptive yarns).

Well, as a proud poster of rubbish posts on the Travel Section, I'm telling you for free that N50M (worse still if the money in the bank is naira or in a domiciliary account. Emefiele would have a thing or two to say in few months from now) is grossly inadequate for both countries. Apply to Caribbean countries, preferably Grenada. The benefits with Grenada is: she is the only Caribbean nation which has a pathway to attaining American citizenship via the E-2 visa. However, from this link: https://www.eb5investors.com/magazine/article/a-legal-analysis-of-grenada-and-the-e-2-visa it shows that you don't have the minimum POF for obtaining Grenadian citizenship. My advice: try other Caribbean countries, maybe St Nevis and Kitts like HushPuppi.

P.S. This thread further corroborates a post I made last year about Nigerians/other black people who deceive, lie and actively discourage ambitious and young Nigerians not to flee Nigeria. While they actively perform online witchcraft, they either have second passports, reside abroad or are actively looking for ways to flee. The fellow SeaTrade with his previous moniker has chanted and screamed that people shouldn't japa because they can become bIlIoNaIrEs in Nigeria and it's a good place to reside. The question is: if so, why are you seeking for a stronger passport?!

One of such people is Peacejoylove and our resident Nairalander in a no-name bloody Central American country Dasparrow.

As a young and ambitious Nigerian who seeks to flee the country, stay away from such people!
Gerrard59:
I feel I should try to elucidate some things with my little knowledge on migration:

- Stay away from Woke people! They might share the same skin colour but their experiences differ from yours. When listening/reading tales from people in the abroad who warn you from relocating, ask questions. Try to know their migration route and citizenship/economic status. Someone who left via tourist visa and another who went for MBA at Haas School of Business would have different experiences, learn the mistakes the former made and strategies the latter did. Anyone who discourages you from relocating when s/he has not relocated to Nigeria is hypocritically wicked and does not wish you well (and if you check those who relocated, they are already citizens of developed countries). Flee from such people.

Best wishes!
Additionally, THERE IS NO NIGERIAN ELITE WHO DOES NOT HAVE A SECOND CITIZENSHIP OR CHILDREN ARE PREPPED TO OBTAIN ONE Apart from skit makers who are new in the game, no notable comedian's wife birthed in Nigeria. ALL gave birth in the US, thereby making their children Americans. The same applies to musicians. It is the reason I am pissed when wicked misfits constantly vagabond this section opening their smelly mouth waaaaaa chanting that young people should not japa. You mean like Akin Alabi who hustled in the UK? Don Jazzy, who did the same? DBanj, whose dad is an ex-military officer that did the same? Mike Adenuga, who rode taxi in the US? What about Banky W whose mom worked in ExxonMobil, gave birth to him in the US and he studied at Corona Schools, the same school Osibanjo studied? Only for him to come and lie that his parents struggled, which is why they rented a flat in Yaba during the '70s. You mean the same Yaba that was home to the then middle class? shocked Or him being a Nigerian-American married to Adesuwa, a British-Nigerian? Or his friend, the pilot, a Canadian-Nigerian who is married to Toolz, daughter of the Oniru of Lekki, who is a British-Nigerian? Or her friend Stephanie Coker, a British-Nigerian, who is married to the younger brother of the co-founder of GTB, who too is a British-Nigerian? Or Mo Abudu who is a American/British-Nigerian and son studied at Duke University? Or her erstwhile employee presenter Zainab Balogun, another British-Nigerian who married an American-Nigerian? Or the other erstwhile employee I used to crush on - Cynthia Kamalu, who married a Nigerian-American? Or Iyin Aboyeji, whose wife is an American citizen, and father worked at ExxonMobil and whose sister studied in the UK? Or Hakeem-Bello, whose daughter studied at Harvard and Stanford and ALL members of his family are dual nationals between the UK and US? Or Nnamdi Kanu who is a British-Nigerian? Or Sunday Igboho who is a German citizen or Sowore who is an American citizen?

C'mon!

There is no Nigerian elite, dead or alive, that does not or did not have a second passport to ease travel whether for leisure or business or academic-related events. I have stated it recently that visa free access is hinged on wealth not race. The reason the olodos on Twitter think it is race is that sub-Saharan Africa is home to the largest number of black people, and as a result, many black Africans are denied visas. Even at that, citizens from countries like Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and even far-flung black-dominated places like Bahamas, Bermuda and Barbados don't face similar scrutiny as their contemporaries in sub-Saharan Africa. Have you seen African Americans complained that they were denied visas because of their skin colour? Are they not black people too? But woke olodos on Twitter don't understand simple economics, the reason they spend time chanting and whining that bOrDeRs ArE rAcIsT. As if they would offer unfettered access to a poor black stranger instead of Elon Musk. Except you want to have hope that sub-Saharan countries would be as rich as Malaysia before her citizens begin to enjoy visa-free travel.

As for returning to Nigeria, trust me, many would return. One reason many would return is the weather. The new wave of emigres lived in the tropics for at least 25 years, so it won't be easy to adjust to temperate climates. My friend in Canada complains about the same thing. She told me clearly "once I attain citizenship status and the passport, G59, I am out of this place". Again, the vast majority of Nigerian elites once worked or studied abroad. From Tayo who is Paga CEO (has American citizenship) to Segun Agbaje who also studied and worked in the US to Emi Lokan and many many others. What about Okechukwu Enelamah who studied Medicine at UNN and did his MBA at Harvard? He co-founded African Capital Alliance, Nigeria's first private equity firm. Ibe Kachikwu nko? Studied Law at UNN and went to Harvard for his MSc and PhD? There is even one I used to admire who studied at Cambridge University and started his consulting business in Lagos. He, too, just like his contemporaries, is a British-Nigerian. One might say Northern elites don't do the same. That is a very big fat lie! Which child of any Northern elite studied in Nigeria? Sanusi's children studied in the UK ditto for El-Rufai's. What about Buhari? He claimed to be poor before the 2015 elections. However, ALL his children studied in the UK. Do poor people's children study in the UK? Esp when they did not attend top schools that have lot of scholarships to offer? Let's not even go to the south, where Amaechi's son is in Canada or Okorocha's son who finished from University of Manchester?

The effects of having a second and, most importantly, a strong passport cannot be over-emphasised. To buttress it, before 2010, Nigerians could travel to 76 countries without obtaining a visa. Ten years later, it plunged to 46. What do the next ten years hold? DrCheif on Twitter narrated his experience when he visited one African country. Upon the usual show me your passport, he showed the official a Nigerian passport. Even though it is visa-free for Nigerians (e fit don change sef), the official dilly-dallied. As time was going, Cheif brought out his American passport and showed the official. What did the official say? "You should have brought this out in the first place". Today, Cheif stays in Ghana. I have met a Belgian-Swiss missionary who has only applied for visa once and that was when she visited Benin Republic. She was confused about how to apply for a visa because prior to that, she had never done it. Also, the woman who owned the travel agency I bought my ticket through has travelled to over 80 countries, including places where black people are very few. Her parents migrated to study in the US, gave birth to her and siblings and returned to Nigeria. Today, all her siblings are American citizens and ditto their children. But she stays in Nigeria because she likes it there. No harm feelings. However, unlike the witches and wizards here, she encourages young people to do the same and take advantage of the opportunities. In life, always seek for more options as those with options have more opportunities. There are even foreign politicians that are tri-nationals.

Also, the aspect of entrepreneurship sef. Except for very few folks who are mostly in tech (most studied in top schools or had rich backgrounds), the most successful entrepreneurs started their businesses after working for some years. It is only in Nigeria I have read that young graduates should start their businesses even if it is POS or cyber-cafe or selling 1kg of gas. Elsewhere, young people work in companies (co)-founded by people who have worked and honed their skills elsewhere. That is how it is done. While there, you gain expertise, knowledge and network. You can decide to return to Nigeria, nobody will stop you. The Paga CEO did it after studying at two top universities, the most recent being Stanford for his MBA. PayStack folks worked for almost ten years before setting up theirs. But the online miscreants in the programming section believe anyone who knows how to type "Hello Word" should open a tech firm to create the next fAcEbOoK. Bloody olodos! Nevertheless, very few people will become entrepreneurs as there are more employees everywhere than employers, regardless of what the ignoramuses who learnt elementary economics by standing near the windows during their SS1-SS3 stages parrot. So, in the nearest future, many of your bosses will be those who did Express Entry or submitted Proof of Funds.

ZIMDRILL:
they dont hate it but envy it,

Its like people who dont like iphones simple becoz they cant afford it

They hate UK simply becoz UK immigration is much tough compared to the likes of US & Canada
Presently, Nigerians say the US embassy visa refusal rate is almost 90%. In Canada, before Covid, it was 8 in 10 who got denied. Meanwhile, from that period till date, almost 80K Nigerians have been issued UK visas of all sorts, including dependant visas.

The stat negates your claim. Numbers don't lie. Any Ada, Bumbi or Ekaette can get a UK visa issued within the stipulated time. The same applies to admissions. I recall the application process I made to a top school in Ireland, finished the process by 11pm and got my admission letter by 8am the following day. The one in England said the decision would take one month only for them to nack me admission letter within two weeks.

The same also applies to getting a job in the US or Canada from Nigeria. In the US, the firm has to apply for H1B visa - a lottery aka tumbo-tumbo process. In Canada, the firm has to do an LMIA before employing you over thousands of PRs and citizens in Canada. Those applications take time and money to process. Getting a visa to the US or Canada from Nigeria is not easy. Additionally, the same applies to tourist visa.

I agree with your comments about the socioeconomic dynamics of black experiences.

To your questions, safety in Asia is generally good. Other than petty crime, you don't find much major crimes, even in South East Asia.
Hotspot tourist areas, like Legian Street in Bali, Indonesia is really bad for petty theft. My fiancee had her purse and phone stolen from her bag, right behind me. When walking on Legian Street, I always warned her to never walk behind me, because I know how it goes with the guys on that street. So she's always in front, so I can keep an eye on her, for her safety.

One day, she trailed behind me on a narrow sidewalk for literally 5 seconds, or less. Boom, someone opened her handbag, and took out her purse which had her phone and some cash. I turned around immediately I noticed her behind me, and pulled her in front of me, but it was too late. We didn't notice what happened in those 3-5 seconds, till we got about 5 minutes later.

I went back, found one of the guys who distracted us for a few seconds, as part of the plot, when that happened. I threatened him, and he kept denying. When he realized I would probably Bleep him up, he confessed that he knows who took it, but the way it works on that street is if he snitches, they could kill him. I saw it was a waste of time, so I let him go.

Another night on the same street, I was alone and 3 little drugged-out Indonesian guys tried to take my watch, but the one trying to remove it was moving slow, like a zombie. I grabbed him by the throat, then grabbed his friend by the shirt and threw him like a rag doll. He and the other one ran away. The one I had had to beg a bit, before I let him go.

These are the only petty thievery situations I remember experiencing in Asia. Overall, East Asia and South East Asia are much safer than Latin America.

South America has safe cities, and safe neighborhoods in otherwise unsafe cities. For instance, Rio de Janeiro has some of the most notorious favela hoods, but as long as you stay in Zona Sul, you'll be fine. Zona Sul is Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and parts of Botafogo. We stayed in Zona Sul for nearly a year. There are tons of drugged-out homeless people in Zona Sul, but they don't really harass or bother people.

The safest cities in South America are Montevideo, Uruguay and Buenos Aires, Argentina (where I am now). We spent almost 2 months in Montevideo. Montevideo might be the most expensive city I've been in a long time. More expensive than the US, for everyday items.

It was worth the expense, as I and my fiancee were invited to a very small private event, to meet the President of Uruguay and a group of awesome people. I was really more interested in meeting the other people, than the President. This is a story for another day.
Interesting, absolutely interesting. As for Uruguay, that would be a fantastic place to own a big farm and live a very quiet life. You seem to be a muscular dude from your Indonesian narration. Na the reason I dey very particular on safety. I no get strength to fight.

Could you narrate your Singaporean experience? I really love that country. I met a Singaporean recently and she was stunned at my knowledge of the country. I am a die-hard Lee Kuan Yew fan. grin

As for East Asia being safe, I am not surprised. It is the reason I said apart from those ones.I am sure you did not see how a gun looked like while across East Asia. Singapore can be categorised as East Asia in demographics and political parlance due to the fact that Chinese dominate the city-state.

You just cracked me up with your naivety!. So, according to you, there is a difference between hookup and prostitutes? Hehehehehehe! And I am sure it is one hook up girl that played with your head like this.
Hook up is the new name for prostitution to make it look more proffesional and more expensive. The same girl that collected 250K from you and told you she is a hook up girl is the very same bittch that will stand on the road and give exactly the same service or performance to another guy who pays 11k or even lower during downturn in her business.

There is absolutely no difference, you are just their Maga!!

Based on popular demand, I am working on a Book how to negotiate successfully with a Nigerian prostitute and steps to take when everything goes South! I assure you, the book is gonna be a bomb! A lot of men are dullards when it comes to making the right moves on the streets. I kid you not, you are the mark
Please mention me when the book is out. I would buy the hard copy version and hopefully you get into deals with publishers to market and deliver them wherever possible.

P.S. I agree with the rest of your post. No difference between a girl on Codedruns, Tinder, brothel and anywhere they can be found. The market might be different (Rumukoro market vs Market Square), but the aim is the same - selling sexual services.

Only simps pay for sex.
Sex is not free. I don't know who deceived you people that sex is free. There is nothing like free sex anywhere.

Gerrard59:
I read to the end. The major reason I like Nairaland - the real nature of Nigerians is displayed, no forming. This is how the typical Nigerian man spends on sex, and how he loves it. Like I've said countless times here, the average Nigerian man is sex starved. If the country was very liberal, culturally and religiously, like countries in Southern Africa, I doubt sex will be so monetized as it's in Nigeria.

To those who say get a wife or girlfriend, well, that doesn't stop men from patronising prostitutes. It's akin to those who say polygamy stops a man from cheating. In fact, the vast majority of men who patronise prostitutes are married men and those in serious relationships. As long as testosterone exists, men will always desire for sex and spend on it. To some men, sex is a hobby just as a sommelier loves tasting and drinking different wines. There are people who spend a lot on wine tasting and drinking. Hobbies can be addictive, one just has to manage it properly and financially.

Additionally, sex is not free. The belief that it's free is entirely false. Sex is paid for in either kind (offering a job, contract or admission), cash (like opined on this thread) and commitment (marriage/engagement). However, in rare cases, handsome men get sex for free. This is the top 1% of Nigerian men as the vast majority of Nigerian men are ugly (myself inclusive). If you think getting a wife equates free sex, don't drop feeding money or money for her upkeep and beauty products

In conclusion, the best way to derive benefit from the sex industry is to offer a service or products that patrons and players consume. This could be as a restaurant (my hypothesis says 50% of restaurants in Nigeria will shut down should men be faithful to their partners, ditto 75% of hotels for the same reason), lounges, intimacy gadgets, herbs for sex enhancement etc. Men will always demand for sex, you don't have to play as a patron but as an entrepreneur. That's how my parents built their wealth.
