almangid:Of course they are wailing. In 2019, David Lyon was removed few hours to becoming a governor, and a PDP candidate (Douye Dori) who came second was sworn in instead. In 2019 also, in Zamfara state, supreme court removed the APC governor, 3 senators, all house of rep members, all house of assembly members and replaced them with PDP candidates! Heaven did not fall and Atiku's party did not see anything wrong with democracy then. These are the reasons why some people are calling them wailers. |
efficiencie:Hello, How much is the 120L deep freezer? |
SN247:No Professors in Nigerian public universities earn above N419,000. |
3310adeb:Contact the sender as soon as you can if you have the sender's information. In these hard economic times, I doubt anyone would send 600k as a gift, let alone a valet assistant who isn't related. Keeping money in your account for a longer period of time increases your chances of spending it. By returning the money to the owner, you will be saving yourself a lot of stress. |
ALTERNATEID:Nice write up, unbiased and fair to some of us from Osun state. Nigeria is a funny country; how can you elect a "dancing governor" who from all indications is cerebrally poor over Oyetola who has never owed salaries despite the lean purse of the state. We will see how Adeleke is going to transform Osun state. |
IamDietiesGod:There are a few of you here who have no idea how universities are run, so I won't respond to your specific responses. Which universities were closed by ASUU? Could ASUU have done that? Four unions operate in universities, and three of them ended their strike last month, so either your Ngige is ignorant or he's playing to the “zombie” crowd. There was one guy who was abusing ASUU, and he has transferred to a private university. I would like to know how much school fees he pays? In the event that public universities begin to charge school fees, “una eyes go clear”. |
Good morning, The information I am about to share with you may be helpful to one or two people. A common adage we all know is "make hay when the sun shines.". Back when obtaining a Permanent Residence permit in South Africa was easier and stress-free, many people advised us to apply regardless of whether we needed it. Some of us ignored the call, while others applied and got it right away! With the permit, I have been presented with many opportunities, and I am grateful for Mr. Mandela's fight for equal opportunity. Nowadays, it is difficult to obtain any type of visa in South Africa or outside of it. What's the reason? The economic downturn caused by Covid-19 and the Russian-Ukraine war is sweeping the globe, and South Africa is not immune. In what sense does this mean? At the moment, South Africa is facing many challenges. Considering the high unemployment rate, and those who are looking for cheap political points, most locals are advocating extreme measures on immigration. A second reason is that South Africa is trying to limit the number of economic immigrants looking for a safe haven in their country. Therefore, some categories of visas have been halted, technically. This is not Nigerian-related. What are the implications of this development? 1. A student or prospective hustler living in South Africa no longer has a better opportunity to hustle. Scholarships and funding are difficult to obtain for research master's and doctoral degrees unless you are a permanent resident. 2. South Africa does not allow you to extend your visitor visa while you are there. Your chances of ending up on the streets are high without a permit! Advice 1. Your travel history may determine whether you can get your visa for a vacation in South Africa. Other countries, even those in Africa, may be of interest to you. If you're thinking about studying, why not consider other options? My personal observations are not intended to discourage you from leaving Nigeria for greener pastures abroad, only to indicate that the pastures no longer seem green. Also, keep in mind that we have different fates. |
limosodiq:It is a deliberate delay and many have advised prospective applicants to look elsewhere. South Africa is no longer a safe haven for pseudo-study-economic immigrants. Good luck to those who can wait for six months! |
SisterFire:How are Fulanis the cause of these shenanigans going on in SE? The day you look inward to identify what you are doing wrong is the very day you will start making progress in life. STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR PROBLEMS. I haven't cried in a long time! I cried seeing this gory video and I pray for the families to find succor. |
Esyy:This brings the good, the bad and the ugly of my service year in AKS. I served in 2002, Ikot Ekpene, twenty one years ago! Kai man don old ooo. I see the orientation camp is still at Nsit Atai. Kindly post more pictures to refresh memories. |
Hisbah21:Clarifications: Doctorate degree (PhD) is awarded to students after completion of his or her academic studies, however Professor is an appointment having satisfied the requisite academic degrees a in a chosen field (1) , research qualities (2), community engagement (3) and leadership qualities (4). The lady in question must have carried out a research and completed her PhD thesis, and both departmental examination board (or panel) and external examiner(s) must have assessed her PhD thesis and found it worthy of a PhD degree. Dr Isa Ali Pantami meets the requisite academic degrees but lack research activities and community engagement in cyber security and should not have been appointed a Professor of Cyber Security. |
brainpulse:What would you have wanted ASUU to do? - someone who was a Senior Lecturer before being appointed by Buhari as the Head of NITDA and has never taught in the last seven years - Who evaluated his documents and found it worthy of a professor? If ASUU has kept quiet, you will still complain. |
Hintona:Yes, it is offensive, it is stereotypical and stigmatised. You may wish read further about fat phobia and fat stigmatization. |
I hope someone will learn one or two things here: - South Africa used to be a haven for Africa immigrants looking for better lives away from their home countries, but of late South Africa is also struggling economically to keep her head above water. Many reasons are alluded to this: one is the impact of Covid-19 and consequently, majority of South Africa workforce and students are currently working from home. - What does this mean?, South Africa is no longer " a land of hustle". What some of you are experiencing is not only targeted at Nigerians but also some Africas countries. As we speak, South Africa will not renew the work permit of about 250, 000 Zimbabweans when their work permits expire. In fact, many Home Affairs offices are operating a skeletal services and some categories of permits have been put on hold. - If you are coming for holiday, this may not apply to you. If you are coming to study, there are fewer jobs available. If you can, try Europe, US, Canada etc. - South Africa is in a perilous state, choose other countries for 'hustling' |
jaxxy:I understand there are two shades of wrong here, the female lecturer even if she was extremely provoked shouldn't have thrown an object at him. However, who raises his hands and beats his TEACHER? The analogy is like being provoked by your parents and you decide to beat them! The young man should apologise to the female lecturer and check into a rehab programme for anger management. I wish him luck in his future endeavours. |
jaxxy:The young man was arrested in Lagos for theft (his story) and was almost killed by mob safe the intervention of police. Following his two-month incarceration in Lagos, he missed a compulsory class activity in partial fulfilment of his programme, and by extension one year split over. He went several times to beg the said lecturer and she told him that is the rule and cannot be bent for him. On the said day, he went again to beg and she attempted to walk him out, one thing led to the other, a female lecturer was beaten by her student. If you were to sit on the student disciplinary panel, how did a school system fail him? How was he oppressed if I may ask? |
femi4:You can't give what you don't have. Shame on you Femi. |
femi4:This is absolute farce! There is no labour law that stipulates that a worker should be paid a portion of his salary. A worker is entitled to his or her full salary at the end of the month unless he or she is being paid pro-rata. Was there a dialogue or an agreement before the half of salary was paid? The HOD should get a lawyer and fight for an unlawful dismissal. |
Barryseal:Some corrections: Bone doesn't dislocate but fractures; dislocation or subluxation occurs at the joint. |
Somandla:Thanks. I am considering the second option. |
Good morning, Please, does anyone know why we can use our ATM cards to withdraw cash in South Africa? Does it have anything to do with the international transactions limit of $100 per month? |
KazikageSama:LOL. Perhaps he was denied and that may have contributed to this outburst? The truth is that, South Africa is safer compared to Nigeria. There is an adage, " A wolu mate, iwon ara e lo mo"; rudely translated to: a stranger in a new place will continue to be respected as long as he knows his boundaries. |
iLegendd:Thanks Bru. I am following your posts passionately! |
iLegendd:Thanks bru. I have gone through your training chats and mostly using Nigeria as a case study. Will you mind add some sections for those in South Africa? |
V7place:Please, I am interested. Email: macdeen1@gmail.com |
pretydiva:Of what use is the Queen of England to the UK economy? Traditional institutions were well developed before the advent of colonialism and ask yourself why is Queen of England still relevant in Global politics and Africa where monarchy started has been debased to the lowest level of economicgrowth? Food for thought! |
HigherEd:This is the height of religious intolerance at its peak. It beats my imagination that Muslim pupils cannot wear headscarves in a state funded schools? How did we get to this stage if I may ask? How is Hijab-wearing by few muslim pupils an islamization agenda? This is preposterous and insanely absurd. We have always lived together in harmony in South West until the advent of the so called men of God and Islamic fanatics who find relish in this absurdity. When will Nigeria move out of this religious cocoons? Oduduwa nation my foot! |
odugbemiopeyemi:I did mine in Cape Town with this hospital: PathCare. Check their address online if they are available in Johannesburg. You can also go to DisChem Pharmacy for the same test. Good luck. |
Blurpy:No it differs from state to state. Some states pay 36k, others pay 40k plus. I think Lagos is the most expensive. |
odugbemiopeyemi:The only issues are Covid-19 related. 1. A mandatory Covid-19 test in Nigeria within 72 hours of arriving in South Africa. If you arriving South Africa on Monday, you should have done Covid-19 test on Friday. 2. The immigration department only check your body temperature and result of test done in Nigeria. 3. Another test will be done when you are leaving South Africa. It costs R850, valid for 96 hours of arriving Nigeria. 4. Payment of N51000 ( if you stay in Lagos) into NCDC account before arriving Nigeria for another test seven days after landing in Nigeria. Note There is no short cut to all these tests. No airline will check you in if you dont have proof tests and proof of payment for NCDC NCDC post arrival test. |
Makemefit12op:You will be surprised that one Musa didn't oppose the candidacy of Okonjo Iweala but your so-called Igbo-supported former US president, Donald Trump and his IPOB disciples made sure she never emerged the WTO's DG. So my friend, you cannot claim this victory. |
Phic97:Every visa application is treated on its own merit; no two applications are treated the same way. So, I may be wrong. However, the point I raised is that if you claimed that you intend to visit your girlfriend whom I believe may not be legally married to you, then you need to convince the DHA the proof of previous cohabitation and current pregnancy. If you are applying for a visitor permit, who is inviting you? who will be responsible for you in the Republic? If your girlfriend is, then I think those documents will suffice. In the past, some African immigrants are involved in a marriage scam with some Black South African women and the rules are stricter now. If you are going in the direction of girlfriend-pregnancy, you will have to prove the existence of such relationship beyond a reasonable doubt. |
