Every Catholic has the answer to that question by Holy Communion stage. Vinnie2000: After my Fasting (As a Catholic) ends by 6pm, I have already programmed a good Delicious Egusi soup and Eba.
But I Just remembered I used Meat to cook the Soup.
Does that mean I will use Money again to Buy Fish or Boiled Eggs?
IS EATING MEAT ON GOOD FRIDAY UNCHRISTIANLY?

One thing we are all missing out is, How would h dal with the resentment he feels everytime he remembered how his wife treated his mum?
If his MIL comes into the house, there would be inconveniences due to her age and health, naturally.
It requires both parties to be in agreement to overlook such inconveniences.
But in this case, he would feel deep resentment almost on a daily basis whenever the slightest inconvenience from his MIL happens, which it surely would, and this would certainly threaten the home.
So I recommend he has a discussion with his wife and ask his MIL yo be catered for by the other siblings while he and his wife support financially and MIL can have short visits |

Avoiding future references and proof of tribalism? The dots are already connected bro Seun: Dear Igbo People,
I sincerely apologize for allowing a toxic political banner advert which said, "Lagos can never be run from Anambra; go and vote" to run on Nairaland for several hours on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
The mischievously worded banner advert appears to have been part of an ethnically divisive political campaign aimed at securing Lagos State for the ruling party by instilling fear in Yoruba people, making them believe that Igbo people intended to "take over" Lagos State.
Such ethnically divisive political campaigns have no place in a forward-thinking democracy, and for this reason, the ad should have been taken down instantly. No harm was intended, but my lack of forethought about the ethics of that type of advert led to a disappointing outcome.
We should have had a clear policy against accepting negative and ethnically divisive ads on Nairaland, we should have communicated it to all advertisers, and we should have taken down any advert that violated that policy instantly. This will all be in place before the next election.
We made almost N16,000 from the ad. We will double it and donate it to victims of political violence in Lagos.
Please, do NOT give up on Nigeria. The times are challenging, but TOGETHER, we will overcome.
Sincerely, Seun Osewa. |

Politics › Re: We Are Fully Prepared, We Will Win Governorship Election - Lagos APC by Gilgil: 8:55pm On Mar 05, 2023 |
The hypocrisy of all this talk about Igbo and other tribes "taking over Lagos" is just pathetic.
Because Lagos strives to be cosmopolitan in nature, its political system would have to be cosmopolitan. This is fact and people have to accept it. You can never have a cosmopolitan city led by traditional/cultural authorities.
Look at New York and London UK, there is no indigenous leadership control issues here but competence-based leadership regardless of your origin. That's why we all flock there.
Lagos is what it is today based on 2 reasons:
1. Former Nigerian Federal capital and historically attracted huge investments and migration as a result.
2. IGR due to this migration majorly paid by the migrants (very small contribution by the indigenes)
Now you can't have a cosmopolitan city whose economy is driven by locals' taxes and reject their contribution to the leadership of that city. You can't eat your cake and have it.
Let me make a few points clear.
1. Lagos is Yoruba land. Its not Igbo or Hausa land. Benin people pose an argument but that's between them and Yorubas.
2. The traditional Yoruba culture is an important part of Lagos but should not be misconstrued that it supercedes the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos in driving the state to success. This is where people are getting it wrong.
3. The tax generated in any city is a requisite for its citizens to partake in the leadership of that city - key requirement for a modern city.
So don't be deluded. Lagos IGR is majorly contributed by migrants to the state and by Nigerian law, if you pay tax over a period in a state as a resident, are born and registered in the state then you are an indigene of that state.
So, ler Lagosians (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa Efik, Ibibio etc) go our and vote their choice. All this Igbo this and that for this election is just hypocrisy and bitterness.
Ekiti, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Osun are far less cosmopolitan than Lagos, so you would expect different results there. People should stop being tribalistic |

Many Igbo people were doing Obi for President and Sanwo for Governor. Rerun. Only way to change it is to ammend the constitution as regards this section. But as far as that law is exists, that's what it is. Politics › Re: 25% In FCT Not A Requirement To Emerge President – Falana by Gilgil: 2:08pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
No. That's not what the law says. This is explicit. The word AND has an explicit meaning in that sentence. There is no ambiguity on what it means. Let's not let conspirators twist the English language ElSudani: What the law says basically is that, for example if you score 25% of 23 states and also in the FCT you also have 25% then you have met the constitutional requirement. Also if you score 25% in 24 other states it doesn't matter whether or not you have 25% in the FCT, you have also met the requirements. The FCT would only count as a state for the purpose of the election. |
Politics › Re: 25% In FCT Not A Requirement To Emerge President – Falana by Gilgil: 1:30pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
There is no ambiguity here. Its simple English. You need to meet 3 requirements to become Nigerian President Elect on the first ballot:
1. Majority votes nationwide 2. 25% in 24 states 3. 25% in FCT
E.g. To pass GRE, you need to score 310 and above (here meaning majority votes) with 160 in Verbal reasoning (25% in 24 states) AND quantitative reasoning (25% in FCT)
It means you must score 310, then 160 minimum in the subjects mentioned. If you score 200 in verbal and 120 in quantitative, and vice versa, you have failed. |

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Wins In Lagos, Beats Bola Tinubu by Gilgil: 2:18pm On Feb 27, 2023 |
You are getting it wrong like most people in Lagos are. Lagos is a Yoruba state based on historical culture, however, it is a former Federal capital and is therefore a cosmopolis. Now, the impact of the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos on its economy far outweighs its cultural impact. Being Federal Capital made Lagos to benefit massively from huge infrastructural developments and massive investments. Lagos is what it is today, by virtue of its position as former Federal Capital and its coastal nature together, that has brought in people from different walks of life. These people, have brought in their wealth, networks and experience, and together with the few locals built it up, making it the economic capital of West Africa. No one is denying its Yoruba roots at all, that would be ridiculous, but based on economy, while the culture is respected, the multiple peoples and cultures make increasing impacts year in year out. Bear in mind that most of the Yorubas in power in Lagos today and not originally from there, and so though Yoruba, they are also a sub-set of the non-indigenes. It is hypocrisy to say Igbos and other cultures should be discriminated against in Lagos while hoping to make Lagos a Cosmopolitan city like London. It is the taxes and investments of foreigners that is driving the IGR of the city. Many people arguing against other cultures in Lagos want Lagos to be like London whose mayor is not originally English but are screaming for other people taking positions in Lagos. You can't eat your cake and have it. Remove or restrict the other cultures and watch the city go down. It's as simple as that. For those arguing that the southeast is not accepting of other cultures, ask yourselves how many other cultures live there? This is because of 2 things; low federal investment in the SE and fewer people coming there as a result plus their inability to compete there. So let's understand why election results can vary in Lagos but not in Ekiti. Let's not pretend to not know these. CoolAmbience: Senseless post!
Obi won Lagos, which to any sensible Nigerian, underscores the credibility of the process, to a very large extent, yet you are whining.
Can Tinubu win any state in the Southeast? No.
This shows the political sophistication of the Southwest region.
If we talk about politics of nepotism, then it is headquartered here in the Southeast. |
