How To Identify And Differentiate A Yoruba Name Or A Yoruba Person From Other Nigerians.

This guide will help non-Nigerian to different Yoruba from other Nigerian.

Quick one:
A. A Yoruba name does not have 'Ch', 'Kw' written in it.
B. You rarely will find two (non nasal) consonant written together except for 'Gb' which is very common.
C. A Yoruba name or word does not begin with the letter 'U'
D. There are no Q, C, Z, X, and V alphabets in Yoruba words so you will not see them in a Yoruba name.


## On Nigeria Passport, ''Place of birth" of most Yoruba people are located in these state: Oyo state, Lagos State, Ogun state, Ondo State, Kwara state, Osun state, Ekiti state, Kogi state and Edo state (All south west state). If you search on google. e.g Ibadan (my place of birth) is located in Oyo state.
## Most Yoruba persons are respectful.

I think you missed the fact that though industrial capacity is important, the world has changed to a knowledge economy, and many parts of the South have this economy.

In terms of industrial capacity, what you need is energy, manufacturing equipment (mix of imported and made in-country), know-how, logistics and a favorable policy.

For the South-East,

- Energy is there 100% (imo state alone has 25% of all proven gas reserves in Nigeria)

- Manufacturing - at least 40% in Aba, Nnewi, Awka, Onicha, Enugu etc are available for basic needs. Then agric processing equipment can be made. The rest can be imported and later developed in country and we know the South East merchants are experts in importation.

- Know-How: undisputed experienced and learned people

- Logistics: Could be fast tracked when you have enough energy to make things and energy to sell in exchange.

- Policy- These people have been yearning for better policies. Nigeria has just not made and implemented them due to varied interests.

Now top it up with some of the best sales skills and business tenacity in the world, what do you expect?

I can speak for south east and some south west who will be fine too.

So, Nigeria can split and the different parts will survive and even excel

The south east is heaviily policed with illegal checkpoints whereby transporters of anything are crazily extorted by seurity agencies and this spikes prices of goods significantly in the region.

Perhaps you would consider that that region is the most policed in the country with all sorts of corrupt security agencies mounting illegal checkpoints on the road and extorting tanker drivers together with all commercial transport and private vehicles.

A rising dollar or falling local currency in normal productive economies brings relief to a certain degree because it makes exports more competitive and imports more expensive and thus less competitive. So a moderately rising dollar is something we should not abhor. Rather we should ride the tempestuous waves or headwinds of more expensive imported goods and services and start looking inwards.

Nigerian universities should be doing some thanksgiving for the share of the billion dollar offshore education industry because it costs a lot more to get a foreign education these days and a lot of folks are likely to cut short their studies abroad in the coming years for this reason.

Nigerian hospitals and medical professionals should be doing a jig and licking their lips in expectation of a share of the medical tourism pie.

And even our local religious camps and grounds should find solace when it costs a lot more to go on pilgrimage to the Middle east and Europe.

I cannot see any downsides here.
We either reform or go bust.
And this is where government should step up and act responsibly.
It should look at critical commodities, products and services we patronize out of an abundance of need and ACTIVELY promote their development and production here by either dragging foreigners kicking and screaming to invest here or by cultivating a new series of Dangotes, men and women of enterprise to do the business.

Majorly because we dont have a well developed steel mills that will drive cost down and improve demand. thanks to the Nigerian Government.

There is demand for structural steel but its mostly for industrial applications (warehouses and factories) which need more load strength for features like over-head cranes and other heavy equipment, and also because structural steel allows for more open space in the design to fit and refit equipment without breaking down walls, you just bolt, rivet, weld. As a result, the steel grade, manufacturing process strengthens the steel more for this application and consequently increasing the cost.

on the contrary, the major demand for buildings in terms of number is residential and commercial buildings which do not need that level of strength etc. and so they go for the cheaper concrete.

Check Nigeria prices in the market: 1 bag of cement = N4,500, 1kg of gravel could be N2,000, 1 kg of sharp sand could be N2,000

In terms of knowledge, we are not where we should be but trust me, many experienced Nigerian professionals in the field abound but you may only see them abroad.

So even if the costs start coming at par, which is not likely, people wont be building home with structural steel profiles. Reinforced concrete would always be chosen.

This act is limited in that states can’t sell power to other states.

Imagine having huge gas reserves, and your state’s electricity demand is 200 MW but your 5 Neighboring states don’t have gas but have a total electricity demand of 1,000MW, it means you can’t invest in a gas power plant of 1,200 MW where you can use your 200MW and sell the remaining 1,000MW to your neighbours.

And so this defeats economy of scale and profitability.

It’s going to make every state buy small mini-grids which is more expensive than having big power plants that supply regions.

Imagine if gas bearing states like Bayelsa, akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, IMO, Abia, Ondo invest in power generation plants of 2,000MW each, there won’t be need for Edo, Lagos, Abogun, OYO, Osun, Ekiti, Cross River to build power plants, they may just invest in transmission and distribution alone.

Then Soko, a kaduna, Kano etc can build solar power plants and sell to Abuja, Kogi , plateau etc.

This would save duplication of small scale equipment and save US dollar spend
