RuuDie: ;DOh.
Definitely we can turn it around...just hoof the balls into the box, typical route-one, EPL fashion; bombard them with crosses, bully 'em aerially and watch them self destruct like Napoli at the Bridge last night. Oh yes, we can!
When did Chelsea style become a standard for Man U to learn from? Laughing!!

niddamugu: If only we had 100 of you in power in Nigeria things will surely look up for our nation was not necessary because with the rate at which oil is gushing out, the whole 100 would equally do more (if not worse) than the present crap crop of leaders in power.
Why will you believe all of us, including yourself will do worse that what we have not? If you can read my last post, I will want you to tell me where I was wrong. All we need to break out of this cycle of bad leadership and irresponsibility in power is to have a person, who is Intelligent enough, Brave enough, and Humane enough. His humaneness will take away any element of selfishness. Bravery will allow him take difficult decision that will have to be taken for our good and also refuse the urge to favour "his own people" - tribe, church group, friends and families.

Intelligent will make him know who to trust and who not to, which advice to take and which not to.

That is what we need.

As for your blanket that all of us, will be worse; I will put it to you that not all Nigerian leaders have been bad, not withstanding their mistakes. Buhari and Idiagbon did everything right. It is only the overwhelming influence of the West and a criminal cabal that overpowered them by helping IBB stage his coup. Muritala tried but same West (in fact CIA) set Dimka up in his stupid coup. Nzeogwu did the right thing, but the men of lesser character he worked with betrayed his course.

Our problem is that we have enough un0informed people that will always allows criminal emerge as our leaders. Not because we do not have people that can change Nigeria.

Jonathan was elected not because he has any atribute of being able to govern. Shagari, same; Obasanjo was of same making. Tafawa Belewa, Gowon both lacked what it take to govern a people. IBB was a confirmed drug dealer and could not have been able to govern. Abacha minus the killing he perpetuated during his stay in power despite being an evil man could have enforced some kind of order in us. Idiagbon would have been a wonderful messiah.

So we have people among us that can change our country but for the factors I enumerated above. I want you to give me facts that will disprove me. Not just "your opinion"

"My dream for Nigeria is a super power that will stand to represent the much marginalized black-man in the committee of Nations. If we cannot achieve this, we are a disgrace to nature and God. And there is no way a tiny Oduduwa, Biafra, Arewa etc republic can achieve that.

The masters that destroyed our land and put us into slavery five centuries ago know all these."

You have spoken well in your last post, and presented some facts to back up your argument. But I only have a few things to say in reference to the quote from your post above. What I have to say is this : Your dream can NEVER be realised, at least not in our lifetime, or possibly in this century. I say this because it is my fervent belief that there is something inherently amiss with the black man; although, there is no logical explanation which i can provide for this position(but i just believe there is something wrong somewhere). You mentioned that we were enslaved by force(which is very true), but don't forget that we also had brothers who colluded with the invaders to capture some of their brethren. In fact, let us not go too far back in time: take a look at those we call our leaders all over sub-Saharan Africa and any other nation that is populated by a black majority and tell me if what happened during the era of slave trade is different from what is happening now(complete disregard for the welfare of brothers in pursuit of material gains. We have gained independence since 1960, yet we have managed to regress(and continue to do so) with no end in sight. angry
It is time to stop blaming foreigners and acknowledge that we have big problems, and that they won't go away until we address them properly.
Let me tackle our area of disagreement: Why it is easy for a black man to work against the interest of his people. I take this to be your point of disagreement with me.

As you said, there is something inherently amiss with the black-man. This is no other thing, other than our conquering by the "White Race" - The Arabs and the Europeans. The facts is that because we were conquered, we lost our past and the essence of our being. Our conquerors were fast to brainwash us into believing that we are inferior. Even our educational system was structured as a tool to further enslave us. Everything about us was painted as bad while everything about them was painted good. The things about them that would have been obviously bad, if we are to know them were hidden from us. Our adopted Religions of today (both Islam and Christianity is part of these). {Note that I am and will remain a Christian}.

So we are in a state of "inferiority complex" in our relationship with the West

In addition to this, they have been making continuous effort to keep us down. These efforts are not really carefully planned just to keep us down. They plan them as a way to better their own economy. Keeping us down comes as a side effect and not necessarily a consciously planned result from this.

A simple scenario, they sponsor coup to remove our leaders that fail to "co-operate with them"; they wire-tap our leaders phones to know our secrets, they weep up lies and sentiments agianst Leaders they do not want; they move money during elections to support stooges against our "true leaders", etc. Have you taken time to observe Morgan Tsvangirai of Zimbabwe? I see him an unintelligent big stooge of the West. While believing that Mugabe is not forthright, I also think Tsvangirai does not represent Mugabe's opposite. Have you thought on why Tafawa Belewa was empowered over Zik and Awo among so many other things?

You can see that we are already down, owing the past activities of over 400 years ago. Our masters know how to manipulate us and this they have been doing. In any group of people, you can always get someone to use to destabilize them, if you have the money and the power. Today, the West have the money and the Power; and that is why it is easy for them to destabilize us, for their own gain. If we have the power and the money, we can destabilize even America. Let us take God for example. Despite being God, Satan was able to get Judas among the twelve for his chosen role. I prefer saying that in every twelve, their must be a Judas.

But the fact also is that there are natural laws, that will turn the table against the West. Their intellectuals know this, and can only try to stop it, as they have been doing. That is why today, China, Brazil, India, Old Russia is gaining a voice. That was why America rose over Britain. That was why Britain rose over the old Roman empire; who at a time in the past, called the British a timid intelligent people that can never get civilized. Yet these British rose to build an empire that at a time controlled a third of the world.

If you can read the old testament very well, you can imagine, how many hundreds of years that old Egypt was the biggest power on Earth. And for you information, the then Egypt was a Black Empire, that was conquered by the Arabs. The Blacks of old Egypt which extends to parts of the present Sudan and beyond were massacred and driven out of Egypt. Remember this same Arabs would have done same to Europe but for the Crusades lead by the Catholic church. Of course, there were the Babylonians Empires, and the Greece before the Romans, the Ottoman Empires. So the world, civilization and super power status, are in a constantly changing cycle. No one can predict them; and no one also can stop them. The factors that drives this cycle are as natural as man; to change them is to destroy our very essence. I call them natural laws.

The way we organize and run our society is one of the factors. The way others organise theirs, allowing us to "cheat, steal, etc" from them is another factor. Our relationships with other countries, our resource base and so many other things that we cannot dictate are all among the factors that can influence the emergence of "Super power".

Now, they have created in Africa, states in pepertual conflict. With this, we cannot organise ourselve. With it, they can ever manipulate us. With it, our intellectuals will never develop. A man that is hungry will never think well. A man that is hungry, that has a history of poverty will always be easily bribed. Also note that poverty breads ambition; and ambition makes one easily corruptible. These are the factors that make us different from the whites.

Years ago, the white race never believed we are "genetically" the same with them. Those scientist among them who share this belief must have ran several experiments to prove this, to no avail. So we can agree that we are biologically the same with the white. Also from what I know of culture and psychology, and from observation from the migration of people; we have black raised in Europe and America who has excelled far better than average white. We also have whites who grow up here, that have got used to our corrupt lives. So the present characters we attribute to the blackman is a matter of culture. It is a product of nurture and not nature. Given the right kind of government and effective implementation of our laws, our people will change.

I will say that given a disciplined government like that of Buhari/Idiagbon for 5 years, an average Nigeria will become disciplined and less corrupt. That we are corrupt today, is because our government through wrong policies and ineffective implementation of our laws, made corruption a norm. When you live in a society where the corrupts are the better-offs, you will have more tendency to be corrupt. Over a long time, every one will take to corruption. That is what happened to the black-man. If a government can punish enough of the law breaker and compensate those that work hard enough, the right culture will emerge in us. The say, that where comfort, money and power is, is where the human minds go to. We are corrupt because corruption brings comfort, power, money and sex in our today's Nigeria. It is the fault of our government; it is the fault of whoever gave us ineffective and corrupt persons as leaders. The West obviously gave us these leaders if you look closely. From Tafawa Belewa, to Gowon, IBB, etc have a not too hidden hand of external influence. Idi Amin, Mobutu, Compare are all products of Western manipulations.

So what we are in, is an accident of history that will self-correct whenever the factors are right. Our is to play our role; and pray that the other factors adds up.

Our role is to find a way of installing "the right kind of leaders on top". Believe me, if we do not have a good President, a good governor will find it extremely difficult to operate and will fail. A good minister will either resign and fail with the President. So will any other officer under him. You can only operate within the framework allowed by the man on top. The actions and inaction of the man on top will always restrict the man below.

So I support any action that can produce our most intelligent and most humane as our leaders. If a million Nigerians can die (including myself), as Chukwuman Kaduna Nzeogwu was quoted to have said in 1966, for this to happen, so be it. Needless to say, that I have observed that in the West and every other progressive country in the world, they have a system that produces their best (I call them 1st eleven) as leaders, while we have be left with a system that prompts, the criminals and never do wells among us, as our leaders.

These are my honest thoughts.
PoliticsRe: UK To Fight Boko Haram by Godmann(m):
It is not just about writing anything in nairaland in expression of individual opinion. It is about reason.

To all those that wants Nigeria divided under the pretext that "Aboki" has misgoverned Nigeria, I want a debate.

Who destroyed Nigeria Federalism? I think it is Awo when he sat down with, Gowon and his cohorts; and changed our revenue allocation? He was the most educated and senior minister, who has the ears of the powers that be - that happened to be uneducated and unschooled young men (taken directly from secondary school to the army and "somehow" through gun, shot themselves to power).

Awo sat down on a table with them and few permanent secretaries to change our revenue allocation formula. I want someone to prove me wrong. Do hide under the Ironsi unification decree. The decree did not in any way tamper with revenue allocation and collection. If is a fact that months after Gowon emerged as head of state, Ojukwu was collecting all revenues from the east and refused to remit the 40% or so due to the Federal government. This did not lead to war. It was the actual declaration of Biafra that brought the war. I want someone to challenge me on this.

As for we the Igbo, our elders were in coalition government with Saduana between 1960 and 1966 and all we can achieve was to "create and capture" midwestern region. Our NCNC and NPC refused both the Calabars and the Middle Belt their region despite strong agitation for them. They rather used the military to quell the Tiv riots. Why did they not pull out of the government then and force another election based on reason? A threat of leaving the government could have made NPC have a rethink in governing Nigeria. The truth is that the Igbo leaders then were also scheming for power in a very crude and unprincipled way

So what am I saying, all parties contributed to the mess.

Today given the benefits of hindsight most of agree that Buhari and Idiagbon would have sanitised the country. But we forgot to ask who removed them from power? The western press dominated by Yorubas, Abiola and Dantata factor. All for their pro-masses policies.

Who were the admirers IBB until after June 12? Those that can be said to be IBB's best friends? I am sure they are not only Hausas?

In the end, we can see that every tribe in Nigeria contributed in destroying the country.

It can also help to know who brought thuggery and tribalism into Nigeria politic.

When we find answers to this, we will know

1. It were not only Huasa's that destroyed Nigeria.
2. If and when Nigeria breaks up, the corruption in all segments of our society will be remain.
3. No progress will be made as a result. The people will still be denied, as the creation of states have proved. States were usually created based on marginalization; but soon after its creation, another group of oppressor and oppressed emerged.

As for the benefits of staying together as a country. I want some one to show me a big country in our present world that did not build its economy with a large population. The present United Kingdom today was built with a population that included a third of the world then. France was built as same. Spain, Germany and Portugal all built up their economy using their massive population of their colonies of old. Technology is a recent tool that only serves to consolidate an already built economy.

Technology is driven by economics which is driven by population. Invent anything you like and if the market rejects it, your invention is as good as rubbish. There have been great invention that did not see the day because the economic were wrong.

So we need a massive population to dictate the market. With the Nigerian market, we can dictate to investors, manufacturers. we can dictate to investors. All we need to create a good economy is the market and enough resources. The resources is not lacking; now you people want to allow foreign interest push you into destroying this market so that they can perpetually dictate to tiny countries of 30/40 millions, probably playing one country against the other then.

My dream for Nigeria is a super power that will stand to represent the much marginalized black-man in the committee of Nations. If we cannot achieve this, we are a disgrace to nature and God. And there is no way a tiny Oduduwa, Biafra, Arewa etc republic can achieve that.

The masters that destroyed our land and put us into slavery five centuries ago know all these.

Think about exploration, discoveries, slavery, colonization, flag independence and now neo-colonialism. They are all forms of slavery that the blackman has been put under. Unless we get this, we will never have peace. The poverty and misrule in Africa is not because God created us inferior; it is a complicated resultant of the destruction of our society and the continuous efforts being made to keep us down. Including the killing of our leaders and intellectual that gets too "radical".

Radicals rule their society, but radical are either disoriented or murdered secretly in our society. The world keeps changing for the better because of radicals who can think outside to box to discover hidden truth and solutions to problems. Conformist and psychopaths which they have groomed out of all make good followers but never takes their society forward.

It is painful when we cannot get these truths. I know it is because what we know is what they told us. Their lies have become our truth, the same Mungo Park discovered river Niger despite our brother having lived there for centuries before his voyage.

How many of us know what happened to the indiginous population of America. How many of us know that before the discovery of quinine that our land is called Whiteman's grave; that the whiteman would have settled and taken over our lands (and probably wiped out our race) as they did in Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the American continents. How many of us have "googled" the polulation spread of the American countries (both North and South)to discover that greater percentage of the population are European Migrants, African slaves and later day Asians? Have we been able to tie these things together? Or is it cheaper to come to Nairaland and make cheap statements?

Can we tied together the death of Abacha, Abiola, Muritala, Idiagbon with the overthrow of Buhari/Idiagbon Regime? Have we included that of Patrice lumumba and Thomas Sankara among others?

There in lies the source of our backwardness. Wake up guys we can do it
PoliticsRe: UK To Fight Boko Haram by Godmann(m): 10:05am On Mar 14, 2012
It will be very unwise to invite any of the NATO countries into Nigeria in the disguise of fighting Boko Haram. I have maintained that Boko Haram was a creation of NATO secret agents as a tool to destabilize Nigeria. I remain convinced that the long term goal is to secure Nigeria oil as they have done in Angola, Sudan and most recently in a very crude way in Libya. The granting of independence to Southern Sudan keep coming into my head. I can't hold back believing that the whole Niger Delta terrorist and Boko Haram share same sponsors. Their approach may be difference, the active men on the field mya be different; but the patron remains the same person.

Whoever that does not know how the western secret agents "program" people for their goal should try to find out. The men supposedly fighting for teh liberation of Niger Delta and the Boko Haram who claim to be fighting for "Sharia" will never know who is funding them. These funds are moved through layers of international businessmen, drug Barons and Arms dealers that it get very complicated to figure out its source and its true motive.

Even President GEJ I believe has been unknowingly set up working for the agenda to break up Nigeria by these western powers.

Mark you it will never be for our good. It is for the sole good of the "Super power". Never deceive yourself that a tiny Oduduwa, Biafran, Niger Delta, etc republic will be democratic and pro-people. Try know the history of dictators in Africa, and will see that all were product of these western countries. The most wicked Idi Amin and Mobutu inclusive.

So brothers, let not trust an enemy. We are better of solving our problem ourselves. These people are the makers of our problem.

He that have ears, let him hear.
PoliticsRe: Could Our Comparative Advantage Be Health Care? by Godmann(m): 9:39am On Mar 14, 2012
Nebeuwa: I am still a firm believer that Nigeria's comparative advantage can be found in health care. With the rate of Nigerians in the United States working in the health care sector, you would think that Nigerians back home, would be interested in the health care sector. We live in a more globalized world, in which each nation has to find its comparative advantage in order to thrive and advance. Nigeria's future is in health care.

As I look at some of your comments, I see people remain skeptical about such a topic. Some of you even say that computer science is the wave of the future. I agree with you, computers will play a role in the future, but BIOTECHNOLOGY as well. That is related to health care. As people around the world live longer, they will need medicine, they will need low cost medical procedures, and they will need experts in specialized fields. Nigeria can be that destination for medical tourism. Nigerians individually are smart, in which that can be seen in many U.S. and UK universities, but we need to learn how to come together. Once we are able to come together, then we will know PROGRESS.
Let first understand what "Comparative Advantage" denotes. You have comparative advantage, because owing to some circumstances, in most cases nature or acquired technology, you can produce some goods or services better than others. So you can key into such areas.

The question now is, Is Nigeria or Nigerians have some natural gifts, or skills that makes us better medical personnel than people from other country? I admit I have not been in American and can not tell the ratio of other countries' medical personnel to that of Nigerians. But in Britain that I know, the Asians have it. And I know the Asians are becoming more medical professionals not because they have any comparative advantage, but because they are motivated by "denials". The Europeans have enough opportunity to have a good life without going through the difficult process of qualifying as a medical personnel. Most will not even fancy working as one.

So it is because they do not fancy it, that made Asians take over and not because of any comparative advantage. The only justification is lack of better options.

I take it also that those Nigerians in US, just like their Asian counter parts in UK are in it for survival sack. The motivation is pure denial and this cannot be called "Comparative advantage".

I have to note that this tread is borne out a certain wrong conception. We have comparative advantages of the Western countries. We have variety of vegetation (our fruits, vegetables, tubers, cereals), we have a climatic condition that can grow a great number of crops; we have a youthful population, we have so many untapped resources. These are our comparative advantage which we have failed to us as a consequence of bad government. I will consider the so many Nigerian medical personnel overseas as a product of a "Comparative disadvantage", if there is one.

We need in our country, but we lack the resource and the decency required to attract them home. So their services are being rendered to other. In fact so many of them have either taken, or are in the process of seeking another countries citizenship. So that is "Brain Drain" which should count as a disadvantage.

Let forget textbook economics and copycatting; let be real. The whole concept of comparative advantage is used wrongly to device "Free World Trade" which is destroying Africa, by denying us the opportunity to develop our industrial base, before opening the little existing ones up to "Competition" to better organised, technologically advanced companies abroad who has better infrastructure, better financing from their home economy with economy of scale, among others in the favour.

If there can be free movement of goods and services, why not free movement of labour? Is labour not treated as goods than can by bought and sold in economics? Why the discrimination in the two when it comes to world affairs? Because the makers of our international laws, including our Economic text books are are unfortunately our competitor who constantly redefines the rules to suit themselves.

Get these fundamentals right and every other thing will add up.

Our solution will come from originality and copying.
PoliticsRe: Reducing Cost Of Governance by Godmann(m): 5:26pm On Mar 13, 2012
First have a government before thinking of reducing the cost of running it. A government acts at all times by for the interest of its people. A government abides by its own rule. A government is sincere to itself and its people.

First we have to meet up with before thinking of reducing the cost. How will you reduce the cost when the very people that constitute what we call government are pure criminals on the prowl, looking for what to steal?

When Criminals Rule, The People Perish. I am laughing at the poster the fundamental ignorance. You cannot build a house on nothing. Government must exist before you think of cutting its cost. We do not have government I repeat. We have criminal in power.

Tell us the companies? Did they include the oil multinational and if not whyhuh?

Their target is MTN because, if they try the likes of Shell and Chelvron, even GEJ will sleep never to wake up. It is because they think they can handle South Africa, or put in a different way MTN is just a group of businessmen without the backup of a strong international spynetwork.

Secondly, all I have said is just the truth. It is purely against the spirit of free enterprise. How will you feel if you build up a company from scratch and someone else is trying to take over your business from behind? Tell me how the stock stuff will affect the lives of poor Nigerians?

Tell me what killed Econet or NITEL as I said. I can swear that MTN will die when Nigerians take over. Have Globacom been able to compete with MTN despite the stolen billions at their disposal? MTN is built by hardworking business men. Even when they are foreigners, we should not discourage them. We can compel them to re-invest in some other areas of our economy, but trying to take over their business from behind is a big evil.

I have said it. I wait to see the repercussion. My headache is that even those of us that are innocent will suffer from this wicked decision as always.

no it should you don't just come to s country to make money and take to your country, you just don't give shares to a few selected individuals and claim to have local participation you must list inthe nigerian stock exchange so nigerians can be a part of the owners of mtn not just exploiting us openly and then employ a few nigerians and come out and claim to have impacted on nigerians.
Can you name a country in the world, you are emulating? Why do you guys allow yourself to be manipulated by a selfish leadership? Is it MTN that ran down our NITEL? Did MTN not meet the requirement we set at the point of entry into the Business? Why make selective laws? Have we forced SHELL, Chelvron, and co to list their shares in the stock market even when we know those ones are just exporting crude resources without adding value. MTN came with an added value.

Let ask ourselves what killed Econet? Is it not the involvement of Lagos, Delta and AkwaIbom state governments. Why can't these lazy Nigeria elites build and run a company? Why must they look out for business to steal from?

What are the conditions that make it impossible for business to thrive in our country? I mean local business? Have these criminals changed it? Even the shares that was listed in the stock exchange in the past, did they protect it?

Now that it is in their interest to grab MTN shares with stolen public funds, they are weeping up sentiments to win a faulty case.

Believe you me, I am not a fan of MTN, I have a compilation of the crimes they have committed against Nigerians, but they did that with connivance of these criminals who want to turn around and grab their shares?

Wake up Nigerians, we are being fooled as usual. MTN is not a saint, but there is no case here. Let our politicians compel them to reduce the price of the phone calls in accordance with international standard if the war is about the interest of the people. They will not because all they want is crude and lazy accumulation of wealth.

If they are able and ready, let them give a licence to themselves, and build a TELECOM company from scratch. Let them buy over NITEL and resuscitate it.

Do not be deceived people. It is all for the thieves to buy off another people's sweat as they have been doing to us.

What do we mean by free enterprise economy? What do we mean by capitalist or even mixed economy? Why interfere in people's private business. It is like asking the likes of Ekene Dilichukwu, and Igbo business omater trader to join other people into their business.

It is fraud and unjust.

When you make l;aw target at some individuals, you destroy your law.

The so called international investors are watching. No one want to invest and be compelled to hands off his investment in the future. MTN fulfilled the requirements at the point of entry. They satisfied the law we made when they entered. they paid us $285m. That was what we asked. We cannot change the rule at the middle of the game. That is cheating and very unfair.

This will certainly backfire

The problem with computer science as a course in Nigeria is a manifestation of the Problem with Nigeria. Appointing incompetent Lecturers based on political and tribal patronage. The answer is to kill corruption so that our best can emerge.

So long as we as a people do not encourage meritocracy in all we do, nothing will work.

ArQueBusieR:
lol. . . Now I don't regret not studying Computer Science as I program better than most Computer Science undergrads -and I'm only so good.- Something has to be done to stop the rot.
I bet you, you deeply regret it. In so far as the way the course is being handled in Nigeria is bad, I find it difficult to see how you can be a good programmer that can think out good algorithm without taking some formal courses like Algorithm, compiler construction, Numerical analysis, etc as a course. These are the foundation upon which a good program is built on.

True the lecturers offered nothing, but mere mentioning of the courses spurred some to read up as much as they can which are not entirely useless. Let me see some of you work, and I bet you they are cut and patch progams. Thank God that is the best we can offer in our nation Nigeris; people like you can claim champions where they are not supposed to.

I am a proud, BSC Computer Science (UNN), MSC Advanced Computing (Glasgow) guy. Computer Science is the best that happened to me as a person. Even in solving day to day issues, the course opened my mind.

Think about the flow of logic and reasoning, Think about Scheduling, think about memory and time trade off, think about modules and sub programs and they are tied together, think about classes and object of OOP; you are thinking about daily life.

Few other courses would have offered those knowledge guy.

Father Lord,

I look forward unto you, you told Abraham to leave his father's colony to a place you will show him, father, i am waiting with all attention to a place you would show me, a country where i can pitch my tent, a country where true love exists on their streets, not the love here in Nigeria than only exists within the estates the corrupt politicians build for themselves.

Lord, please do not listen to the responses of the pharisees here, i however pray you give them their desired strength and courage to wait at home and build this country in its most hostile, corrupt, wicked environment. Since 1986, every year in Nigeria is better than the previous.

Father, i want to tell my children and their generations some sweet fairy tales like my grandparents told me of their days, i desire to be listed in Wikipedia of my achievements, life story etc in my environment, therefore i pray thee to take me out of this country and rescue me from the cancerous faith of Nigeria would be better, which our parents have been saying since 1986. While other countries constructs and implement beautiful road networks, fast electric trains, high-tech laboratories, improved fabrics, superb health care system etc, my country still constructs the usual slim 2 way poorly baked lane road with the cultural roundabouts that causes the major of the hold ups, no trains but we have few coaches, no good labs except for the ones for pregnancy tests, no locally driven technology for fabrics and hundreds die everyday due to poor health care systems.

My God, please update my prayers with this few points while i await in faith, the answers to my prayers.

Your Image,

Kpac Trium
In concurrence with what the poster prayed for, I add

Father open the eyes and minds of our people, so that we can understand the abject state we are in. I am pissed off, I fell insane when I cry about the hellish conditions in our country, only to be laughed at by the very people who in most cases suffers more than I do. I know it is a consequence of ignorance. Can you please grant all of us with the intelligence and knowledge to understand how our actions and in-actions, both as leaders and follower, has made it impossible for old men to exist among us, as in the streets of Europe, America and Asia.

Let us appreciate that it is the worsening condition at home that is causing the flourishing fake churches and fake pastors. Let us come to know that all the demons we cast out for causing our difficulties do not exist. That the demons are born out of the frustration created by the wicked government we face.

Let us come to know father that our people will never have jobs because our level of corruption, lawlessness and irresponsibility will never allow business prosper. Let know that it is business that creates jobs. Let us know that sharing and stealing oil money will never develop our lands. Let us recognize that the best tool we have to develop our people is human capital. That if we can shape the minds of our people properly, that our land will be developed.

Father drive away all the tribal champions in our midst. Let us understand that all men are created equal by you. Let us appreciate the humility and simplicity of the Hausa Fulani man. Let us not envy the industriousness of the Igbo's. Let us appreciate the richness of the Yoruba culture with her people, and the uniqueness the minorities bring into our midst as a nation. Let our concern be the good of all men; and let us learn to be fair and truthful to all men. Let us learn how not to believe the lies put into our head by our father in sowing the seeds of tribalism and discord among our masses. Let us judge our fathers for their own mistakes in creating the mess in our country, and not just hold only people outside our tribes responsible.

Let us be ashamed that we have failed to be creative like other races of the world for once. Let us aspire like other races to be positive creation agents in our world, who can invents things that make both our lives and the world a better place.

Let us learn that our world is in an economic war; that whereas the countries of Europe, America and Asia are competing and positioning their countries for better, and enhancing the lives of their people by so doing; that our people choose to live a primitive life of crude wealth accumulation at the expense of our people and our race. Open our eyes to see the quality life we have denied ourselves and our people.

Father, you must not keep us in perpetual darkness as imposed by the lies of the conquering Europeans.

We must learn the true world histories which has be rewritten against the interest of the black-man. Let us understand the slavery that the black-man has been placed in, for the past 500 years. Let us resolve to work to finally liberate the black-man from the economic enslavement spanning through the discoveries by western Europe, Exploration, slavery, colonization, Assassination of our leaders that choose to protect our interest (Patrice Lumumba, Thousands in during the Aparthied struggle in South Africa, Thomas Sankara, our own Muritala Mohammed, Abiola, Abacha, Idiagbon, Martin Lurther King, Malcom X, Gadafi, and the uncountable unknown names), the imposition of despots and weaklings on us as leaders (Idi Amin, Mobutu, IBB, Belewa, Jonathan etc), the Flag Independence they granted to us, to Neo-colonialism.

Let all blacks recognize the hidden truth that Malaria preserved our race. That our fate would have been sealed like that of the indigenous population of the American continents who were almost wiped out of the face of the earth. Can you allow us as African's to ever celebrate that feat achieved by malaria? Can our people come to learn that 500 years ago, before the discovery of quinine that our land was labelled "White man's grave"? Will we ever know that it is solely malaria that stopped the white from settling in our land as lord, and forcing all of us into a worse form of slavery as they did in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and America?

Father, I am weighed down seriously by uncertainties, I have tried to educate even more core friends, but the harsh economic conditions in our country have created a state where all of us finds it difficult to think. We are all enmeshed in a pursuit of an un-existing Wealth. Whereas our national wealth is shrinking as a result of mis-governance, the ambitions to make more money is getting greater daily, giving rise to a cultureless, mindless society.

I have heard that the city of New York alone publishes more book than the whole of Africa. I have gone out to buy books and found only Bibles on all the shelves. I read through the bible in few day as a JSS 3 student, I still refer to various chapters as the need arises, I have tried Koran and the Haddits, I have read other books of other religion. I have read the science as my profession. I have read economic, political and history books as part of interest in search of knowledge; but I find few Nigerian who can read beyond memorizing few lines in the Bible. From my days as a child, I can hardly remember a story in the Bible I have not heard severally, but all my people choose to do in search of knowledge, is to keep memorizing the Bible every day.

Few have tried to read. I have friends who left Universities a decade ago, that have refused to read any other book. Even newspapers they can hardly read. All they can do is to browse through the political headline and take side based on tribal sentiments. All our people are either turning out to be pastors and spiritualist, or their patrons.

I have asked myself, the spiritual and the physical which is easier to understand? We have failed to tackle our physical and social problems as a people; we have all turned to specialists of spirituality. Is it not because it is easier to deceive and lie about a spiritual realm we will never understand than to be real and tackle real problems; that our people are jumping into spirituality? Is it not part of laziness that we have all abandoned the thinking and acting required to solve our problems and ran to the churches and mosque? Will our country produce more heaven bound people that other races of the world?

Father, if only I can live to see Nigeria change, if only I can live to testify that you are a great lord, when the process of rebuilding my country sets in; if only I can see these, I will die a happy man

I am weighed down, because I can't see who my people can be educate to know the truth without your intervention.

@Godman_n,
am not talking about wether dreams come ttrue or not. Am saying that if one could sleep and still see himself living as if in real life. Its enough evidence that there is a soul. manmustwac gave an example of his proof that gravity exists even though he does not see that thing called gravity. Dream also is a proof to show that when one dies he will find himself somewhere while his body lies in the grave just like in the case of dream.
During dreams, the brains cells and the nerve cells are alive. The signals were in motions and generates what we call "dream experience". When deaths comes, all biological functions ceases. So is the brains and the nerve cells. So what will drive our souls? I don't know.

Never mind, I believe in life after, i believe in "GOD", but how to explain them, I know not. May be even my believing is part of indocrination that has been fed into me since I was a child. By my parents, by my peers and the society I belong to.

I can never know, I may never know even after death.

Remember what some said here. That they know not the second they were born. So we may not even know the second we were death. But I also believe we can be judged by an "ALMIGHTY" nature even without being in conscious. No religion can explain it. It is not even important that we know.

All we ought do is to live a good life. Make our world a better place.

@manmustwac and Harakiri,
you want a proof that soul exists? Do u dream at all? When u dream do see yourself in the dream? If yes, then thats akind of evidence to prove to you that soul exist. when u close your eyes in death you ll see yourself on another side of life where you ll spend eternity in hell if you do not accept Jesus or in heaven if you accept. Just like you sleep and while your body is lying on the bed you still see yourself in the dream living your life so real without remembering you are in the dream land so will your body be lying in the grave while you see yourself on the other side of eternity. Soul exists.
Thought you are coming out with a proof and you ended up saying nothing. Try find out what dreams are: Mere movement of electronic signals. Have you not had dreams that were obviously useless: like a remembering of past events. If we have had dreams that are meaningless, how do we establish a different origins between them and those that seems to be meaningful? The two would have come from same accidental brains electronic signals.

What I am trying to say is not that there is no God. I believe in a supreme being, in a form I can never be able to explain. But I also believe that no religion on earth can explain him. I see fraud in all Religion. People that are manipulating us in the name of God.

As a christian that I am (I am one because I have not seen a better option), I know Christ condemned the custodians of the old law-the Pharisees and the Sadducee; What I have seen tells me that if Christ will come back that he will still condemn the present Pastors and Priests, who are today's custodians of the present Christian law. So what have we learned? Nothing. Same fraud and cheating in the name of God.

I have also established a fundamental flaw in the basis upon which even the old law was built. We condemn mysticism today. Our fate abhors it. But I am convinced Moses, the father our our law book - The bible was groomed in the house of Pharaoh as a potential King. I am convinced he was trained in the acts of mysticism as was done in the then Pharoah's house. I have seen anywhere in the Bible where he Condemned this acts. Meaning, he kept and cherished the practice.

Of course I have heard of the mystical five books of Moses. So my question to we Christians is: How do we reconcile this?

Unless you've spoken to someone who is completely brain dead, then they're not talking from "personal experiences".

Until Nicolaus Copernicus came along and said that the earth wasn't at the centre of the universe, people seemed happy in their ignorance -- that somehow we were at the centre of it all, and had been put here to serve a higher purpose.

As humans, our ego gets the better of us. We think we're the most special,  more so than the other animals or beasts roaming the earth/universe. Well unfortunately we as humans aren't alone in our cognitive abilities and it seems that animals are capable of emotion and cognition.

There are more stars in our universe than there are grains of sand on earth, and our sun is almost 100million miles away,  maybe we are the special ones in this ridiculously vast universe thats so big it's beyond all human comprehension. Going on probability alone, our chances are very slim.

That said, if there is a soul, that goes on after death, then science will eventually be able to tell us. It's just a matter of time.
I completely agree with you especially as regards my stated "personal experience", but "the vastness of the universe" and "the minuteness of we humans" do not take aware the element of holding us to accounts. I believe nature is in an orderly and continuously evolving state. The judgement I foresee come along as part of the laws that guides this orderliness. Just like all the observed biological, chemical and physical laws that gave rise to the body called science. Basically, Science is a study of these laws (But we are presently dealing with a very limited amount of them owing to our very limited ability as humans).

I find it difficult to comprehend how all creatures will be brought together for judgement. But see it easy in the ways of nature (just the ways immensed objects float according to their weight in fluid), or the ways every biological existence must come to an end (death).

I see the whole creating process which gave rise to our life, and which will take aware our life at the points of deaths as a continuous process of nature. It was, this nature that brought about Evolution. I am also a strong believe in the evolution theory, but I believe Darwin went beyond his ability in trying to prove or disprove "God". Believe me, science will never get near to this. The steps ahead are far in excess of what man can comprehend in billions of years to come.

Thanks for making me think about even judging what I took for granted as personal experience which may after all be just movement of brain electronic signals that might have been triggered by things other than "soul, spirit, God or even gods"

A study of natural cycle, bio-chemical systems shows the existence of some kind of master programmer/developer. I call all those forces beyond my comprehension nature. To me they equate to "God"

Its singularity or plurality does not make much sense since we all humans may belong to a singular entity after all. We may all be different manifestation of one big entity (Probably the "God"wink

Simplistic ideas. Who told u guys the world we are is this simple.

I expect to be judged in a natural but complex way, and to continue my existence in some form incomprehensible to me until when the times comes. I also understand that at that point in time, that I may not be able to link my then existence up with the present life. But I believe that the state of my existence in the then hereafter will be derived from my present actions. I do not believe any religion holds the truth as to our existence after here, but I see a common thread which must be close to the truth.

Nevertheless, personal experiences and documented accounts strongly attest to a life after death. The form however we can never fully understand.

I believe I came from a source who will therefore hold me to some kind of account and who will place me in some other existence (not excluding coming back to earth via re-incarnation) based on how well I conduct myself presently.

He wrote this article in 2001 during the widespread debate of Sharia and exposed the hypocrisy of northern governors. At that time, one Sefiya Husseini has just been sentenced to death by stoning by Sokoto's political sharia. He stood against this, arguing with his Islamic knowledge(remember he is also an Islamic scholar).

For this article he was labeled anti-Islam, anti-Sharia in the North.

@Godman
u are  a fool. why are you so desperate to keep Nigeria? are you David mark who want to die for nigeria? Nigeria is a dead project
Guy, I know about wars of secession more than you think. My dad gave me a deep story of the Nigeria/Biafran War. We still carry the scar with us, as part of our past. I also understand the international politics that is playing out in Africa.

Most importantly, I know all you that want to break up Nigeria, is playing into the hands of our neo-colonial masters. I know, it takes a big country (market), to build a strong economy. My only concern is to reverse the fate of Blackman. We have been in slavery since 500 years ago. Our past and present challenges are consequences of our forced slavery and manipulation by Western countries. The Slavery, the forced trade, the breaking up of Africa and colonization, the Flag Independence, and the present puppets imposed on us as leaders as part of a neo-colonial agenda; are all phased manifestation of our enslavement.

To further break up Nigeria - the only big market that can be quickly transformed if a good leaders is to emerge; is to destroy our potential of fighting back sometime in the future, to regain our say in the committee of nations, as Black people. It is part of a neo-colonial agenda. Forget that the fools that parade themselves as our leaders in Aso-Rock, and every other capital in African countries, have not got our story. The most important thing is that we preserve our potential for a future revival. This we should strive to do.

Tell me why China, India and Brazil is transforming quickly except for a focused government helped by a massive population. In the present world economics and its involving politics, population is key. He that holds the market dictates the terms. The market is the population. With a big market, every country on earth, every multinational, every manufacturer will relate with you at your own terms. With a tiny market, no one cares.

But these are not facts that the ordinary man on the street will understand. It is true that our tribes have not had the best of relationships and understanding. But this is purely a failure of leadership. If you can think about this properly, you will see clearly that even when we break down to tiny Biafran, Oduduwa, Arewa, MiddleBelt, Niger-Delta etc, republics; that the division will not stop. How well has the Ijebus and the Egbas all in Ogun state related? How well has the Wawas and their brothers in the East related? How well has the Itshekiris and the Ijaws in small Delta state related? How well have you even related in your own tiny family of few members.

Our problem is leadership. They denied us basic law and order; they denied us fairness and justice. This gave rise to all the ethnic squabbles. I repeat, all men are created same and equal by God. I have stayed in the North, I live in the West, I am from the East; I see no difference between the people than useless prejudices and biases. These are all man made. These take a larger than life scale because of the stealing corrupt leaders that we have. I have watched my tiny village politics closely and I still see marginalization. I see same in Enugu state politics. I see massive corruption in my local government. I know the names that have embezzled my local govt. allocation since I became a man. How will I blame an Hausa or Yoruba man for this. Are those names not from among the very people I call my own. So it is not about tribe. It is about law and order. It is about justice and fairness. It is about good and reasonable government.

Mark you, the evolution of our present kind of  leaders is purely a creation of colonization. Our ancestors were not like this; forget that our past has been very much distorted by a false history imposed on us by the very people that came to loot our lands. The West may not have set out purposely to create this kind of leaders for us; but the activities destroyed our indigenous culture and leadership. It imposed an alien culture on the psyche of our people. All we need is to overcome it (and this will come with time; it can be made faster by a focused leadership). When we do this, our nation will be. No nation on earth is made up of one tribe. Even the evolution of tribes tell you that after living together for over a hundred years, our people would have evolved a common culture and understanding but for a divisive leadership imposed on us.

Remember that the very aim that drove conquering of our land by the west; call it discovery, exploration, slavery, colonization, (flag) Independence, neo-colonization, world trade etc; is the acquisition of wealth "by and for" Western power (A particular tribe that evolved from Western Europe)

Let therefore avoid impulsive decision and think rationally. A lot is at at stake. Our fate as Blackman is involved. Our pride as equal humans must be restored. Our ancestors that has been battered by slave trade and the forced conquering of our lands hundreds of years ago; those that could not take it and jumped to the Atlantic; the millions that could not survive the harsh treatment in foreign land, the millions that have lost their roots will never forgive us if we fail to take back our land.

This I wish we can focus on. It is a greater cause.

why will anyone need the blood of his fellow human being for sacrifice.
You are but an animal. If you want to break up Nigeria, if you think you have the gut to do it; take up arms and fight. You cannot get a dream "Western" whatever from the internet. I wonder how you will forcefully take the Igbo speaking part of Delta state that runs all the way from Agbo to Asaba to your idiotic dream Yoruba empire. So you also want oil Money?

See how myopic and selfish you are. You are not going to fight only the North in this your dream, you will fight the East and the South South before you can achieve it. So go get ready; but mark my word, the Biafran war and the wreckage will be a child's play to what will befell you. It will be time to pay for the sins of Awolowo during the war of 1960s. Mind you some people are fasting and praying for an opportunity to hit you where it hurts; so try invite it and it will be welcome.

The fact is that all you idiots that held this country down are selfish. You are evil. Why can't Nigeria work? If Nigeria cannot work, even your Oduduwa dream will never work, if you are to have it as a country; because same mentality that destroyed Nigeria will destroy it. The very people that contributed significantly in destroying Nigeria all pervades Yoruba land. The Akintola's, the Awolowo's with their selfish tribalist politics; the Tinubus and their drugs and corruption business; the Ige's and Adesanya's with their double talk.

I am sorry to sound this tribalistic. I am not out to hurt Yorubas but to prove that every tribe in Nigeria has gut evil people in their midst.

It is not about tribe, it is about our collective mentality. It is about being open minded and refusing to be selfish. It is by being fair to al,l that a true nation can evolve.

In this same mentality, even when you have your Odudua dream, the further division and categorisation of people will continue. There will be the Ijebus against the Egba's and a whole lot of discrimination.

Grow up, it is a common humanity. All men are created equal by one God. The Igbo's as well as the Hausa's as well as the Yoruba's; the minorities inclusive.

In my life time, the south begged for Zonning and it was given to them. I am a witness to this and will tell whoevcer cared to ask. When it was time to return it to them according to a reached agreement, we followed a wicked old man called Obasanjo and imposed a dying Yar'adua on the Nation. We refused them their full turn and instead handed over our nation to the biggest joker of the century - A man that could not marry his wife was asked to transform Nigeria. Now that the man is falling in the hands of a greater manipulator - (Western Power ), we rather attribute to Northerners destabilising his, than to admit the simple truth that we gave the nation a ZOOMBIE as President.

I am a witness to this and must stand in the side of truth.
