The best picture of the Trinity is like the picture of the Sun. We have the Sun which can represent the Father God, the light which represents Jesus Christ and the heat (radiation) which represents the Holy Spirit. The Father God represents the Source of the Godhead, the Lord Jesus Christ represents the form and visibility of the Godhead and the Holy Spirit represents the energy emanations from the Godhead. Thus God is actually one God-person having three God-attributes: the Father as the source attribute of God outside of space, time and dimension, the Lord Jesus Christ as the “shape-form” attribute of God revealed to all creation, the Holy Spirit as the energy-emanation attribute of God throughout all creation. (Remembering that one God-person can be omnipresent simultaneously in various forms emanating through all space and time – which to humans look like multi-persons but is actually only one God-person). He who has seen Jesus Christ has seen the Father (John 14:8, 9). In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:8-10).


The biological explanation

In an extremely very, very rough comparison (and potentially highly not very accurate comparison as it is extremely limiting to the Godhead), the one God-person of God is comparable to the spirit, soul and body of a human (made in the image of God): the Father God being the Spirit Being of God, the Holy Spirit being the Soul Being of God and the Lord Jesus Christ being the Body-form of God. All these are extremely rough and only 1% accurately in speaking of our great Almighty God but it helps get some measure of understanding across to the limited human mind.


Then the logical explanation mixed with mystical or dimensional explanation as well

Another way of understanding the one person of the Trinity is as follows (this description probably is more accurate up to 30%). Imagine that it was possible to invent a time machine and I use the time machine to bring the Peter of 1997 to the year 2007; and also bring the Peter of 2017 to the present. Suddenly standing before you are three Peters: one Peter 1997, another Peter 2007 and a third Peter 2017. At this point I ask you a question, “Are there three different separate persons or is there just the same one person Peter from three time dimensions: past, present and future?” The latter answer would be closer to the truth. Now imagine that there are three God-dimensions (for lack of a better word) but one God-person spread across these three dimensions in order to relate to us: God the Father dimension, God the Word dimension and God the Spirit dimension but all the same one God-person. Not one God in three persons but one God in three God-dimensions. It is important to understand that God is one God and one God-person.



I am sharing these views because we may have heard them already but my question is, where is the explanation from God's word?

I went through YouTube videos but I get confused on the person of the holy spirit.

The only thing I got is that the holy Spirit is the Power of God.

Note that the Apostle Peter in a single context refers to the Holy Spirit as GOD:

And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” - Acts 5:3–4

However, note that GOD declares that He is One LORD - “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!" - Deuteronomy 6:4 (Also Zechariah 14:9, Mark 12:29)

That's because you don't understand the concept of trinity. Most people don't understand the term trinity.


It's like saying a trio book...like the twilight movie. They are three different parts but one story.


Trinity represents three different entities that resonate as one. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy spirit. They are seperate beings but from one God. They reflect the Supreme nature of God, one cannot be without the other. Jesus Christ is the word of God, he speaks only what the Father says and does what his Father does.

The Holy Spirit, is given to us, as a guidance. He represents the spirit of God dwelling in us. Jesus was the Word made flesh. The Father, The Word and The Spirit.

I hope this explains it better. So don't confuse it as saying that Jesus Christ is God the Father and also the Holy Spirit, it represents completeness. They are seperate but work as one.

Jesus himself doesn't call him God
John.14.26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. (AMP)


Now the comforter, is another comforter sent as a teacher, our teacher not as our Lord or God. You know some even believe an error that Jesus returned in the spirit and dwells in us and that is the second coming.

John.14.16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever - (AMP)

So both Jesus and the Holy Spirit are comforters sent by God, one went back and the other was sent. The Holy Spirit speaks to God, intercedes, on our behalf, our teacher, our intercessor.

Rom.8.26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom.8.27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will.


There are other examples that show that the Holy Spirit is not God but speaks for us to God and tells us what God is saying, just as Jesus revealed to us God's will and commands, the Spirit of truth does same to us as well.

So why then do some worship the spirit or the Holy Spirit?

One more thing that would be noticed by those who study their Bibles is that the Spirit or the Holy Spirit is never worshipped, the Father is worshipped, the Son is worshipped but then what about the Holy Spirit??

I believe the error begins when we believe and equate the Father, the Son and the Spirit are equal beings or the same being because they are listed together, is the Father and the son equal because the son seats at his right hand, well is the spirit and the church the same?Okay maybe that's a bit much, let's read what the same author, John, wrote in 1John.5.7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (NKJV)

So he calls them three witnesses, not three gods, let's read previous verses

1John.5.4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
1John.5.5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

John never tells us to believe that Jesus is God or that Jesus is God the Son but that we should believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Now before the verse 7, 1John.5.6 This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness (who testifies), because the Spirit is the truth.


So Jesus was revealed by his baptism, by his death and by the Spirit who testifies, now some translations of verse 7 do not include, the Father, the word and the Holy Spirit but they do contain verse 8

1John.5.8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. (NKJV)

Now because of the way KJV adds the term agree here but not in verse 7, it gives two different meaning, but in the Greek text it's simply three are one vs 7, three are in one vs 8. This goes to show that the three agree but then the spirit water blood are in one, as in it is in one accord or one person?

Reading further from verses 9, John writes that God testifies of the Son, something he reveals in his gospel that Jesus himself says, in John 8:18

Now let's remember that the question is, is the Holy Spirit God?
And consider this question...
What does Jesus call the Holy Spirit? or who did he reveal the Holy Spirit to be?

Now for some without a doubt the answer is YES. Why? Well because it is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit they have been taught as regards to trinity.
But to others who actually do read and study their Bibles, it's confusing where the terms God the Son and God the Holy Spirit come from, because they understand that the three mentioned are God himself, His word and His Spirit. While some try to make sense of it by saying that because God manifests in His word and through His Spirit, they are God as well.

And based on their understanding that the Holy Spirit is manifestation of God upon the earth, the conclusion is that he is God the Spirit and not just the spirit of God has written in the bible.

Now if you believe that Jesus is God, then you would also believe that the Holy Spirit is God, now my question to those of you who believe so is this, if the Spirit of God is God because He is the Spirit of God then what about the Seven Spirits of God?

Well since you refuse to accept that only God is God but that there are three Gods or three in one God, as some believe is God manifesting in three persons, do you believe that there are not just three but 10 Gods or 9 if the Holy Spirit is one of the seven spirits mentioned in Revelations 1:4, 4:5 & 5:6.

Before you say oh, it's the Holy Spirit that's on earth and not the seven spirits, read that Revelation 5:6... which are the seven spirits sent out into every part of the earth. If you say, well, the Holy Spirit is or are the seven spirits, so are there seven gods on earth?

Infact the author of revelations, John, didn't write Holy Spirit, he used spirit or the spirit. Even though amplified version adds [Holy] in bracket, like in Revelations 22:17 where the spirit and the bride, which is the Holy Spirit and the Church is mentioned.

Do we know and understand the role of the Holy Spirit to the church?
Is the Holy Spirit God to the church?
Is he to be worshipped?

Walking through the streets of Ibadan, I have never encountered a Christian outrightly proclaiming that Jesus is God. Even within my own family, when I asked my Christian relatives whether Jesus is God, they were visibly surprised by the question (how can Jesus be God). My younger cousins, too, were taken aback when they came across claims that Jesus is God, I was like— (dem no teach for unna church say Jesus is God). Interestingly, none of them attend any of the churches listed above.

This makes me wonder, when did the assertion that "Jesus is God" begin to gain prominence? Growing up, all I ever heard in Christian circles was the phrase "Jesus is the Son of God." The idea of Jesus being identified as God wasn’t something I had come across during my early years until recently flying all over the internet.

A couple of days ago, a certain individual stirred an unhealthy debate on X about a banner hung around Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos. The inscription on the banner reads: "Jesus Christ is not God. He is a Servant and Messenger of God." Like a wild fire, the controversy spread across all social media platforms, with commentators divided along religious lines.

As expected, most Christians found the inscription to be provocative, offensive, and inciting, citing the fact that it negates the principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance in a multi religious country. Another point raised was the timing of hanging the banner, especially at a time when Christians are preparing to celebrate Christmas.

A number of Muslim commentators seem to agree with the above submissions. They faulted the Masjid authority for insensitivity to the feelings of the Christian community at a time when Christmas is just a couple of days away. They equally submitted that irrespective of the period, hanging such a banner violates the concept of peace which is a core and fundamental teaching of Islam.

Thus, the social media battle shifted from an inter to an intra religious one, with some ethnic colouration and dimensions poured into it. Some of the arguments were logical, while some were completely emotional. Worse still, some had hypocritical stripes drawn over it. To make matters worse, those who cannot handle intellectual engagements went on hurling insults and throwing jabs and invective, burning bridges and severing ties along the way.

Earlier today, I watched the Khutbah delivered yesterday by the Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, and one cannot but appreciate his eloquence and calmness in the midst of the storm created by the issue. His short address of the issue provides the following insights:

1. The banner wasn't hung this month or even last month. It has been there for well over 2 months.

2. The text on the banner is a verse of the Noble Qur'ān (5:75) which says, مَا الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ "Jesus the son of Mar'yam is not but a Messenger of Allah." This verse is a continuation of verse 72 which says, لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ

"And surely they disbelieved when they said: 'Christ, the son of Mary, is indeed God'; whereas Christ had said: 'Children of Israel! Serve Allah, Who is your Lord and my Lord."

3. In a country where freedom of religion is guaranteed, when does it become a crime to state exactly what your religion says, and which does NOT in any way insult others?

4. If Christians feel that "Jesus is not God" offends them, how should Muslims feel about the thousands of banners which says, "Jesus is Lord"? Your right to say Jesus is Lord which you claim is a biblical statement is the Muslim's right to say, "Jesus is not Lord" which is a Qur'ān verse. Why should the Muslim suppress his right for your right when both can actually coexist?

5. Jesus is not the Christian's property alone. He is a Prophet of God sent to the Children of Israel. Belief in him is a fundamental teaching in Islam. Muslims love and rever him and his mother. 6. Some have argued that how will the Muslims feel if Christians decide to hang a banner that says "Muhammad is not a Prophet of God." Should Muslims apply the same logic, every banner that says "Jesus is Lord" must be removed immediately as it is offensive and provocative. Let's live and let others live.

So of angels can do this, how much more The Father who so loved humanity?

We already know that a final Antichrist is coming. The occult world call this final Antichrist Meitreya, the Muslims call him Al-Dajjal....

Islàm is known for beheading, and this Antichrist will also behead a lot of people... If you look at the colours of the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse, their colours align perfectly with the colours of the islamic countries...
