Kobo said, because the helper is the spirit of truth he is God, but he is not God the Father though he calls trinity nonsense, well some said because the Holy Spirit speaks and judges, he is God. Now here is what some have been taught, here is jantman's cosmology explanation of the trinity The best picture of the Trinity is like the picture of the Sun. We have the Sun which can represent the Father God, the light which represents Jesus Christ and the heat (radiation) which represents the Holy Spirit. The Father God represents the Source of the Godhead, the Lord Jesus Christ represents the form and visibility of the Godhead and the Holy Spirit represents the energy emanations from the Godhead. Thus God is actually one God-person having three God-attributes: the Father as the source attribute of God outside of space, time and dimension, the Lord Jesus Christ as the “shape-form” attribute of God revealed to all creation, the Holy Spirit as the energy-emanation attribute of God throughout all creation. (Remembering that one God-person can be omnipresent simultaneously in various forms emanating through all space and time – which to humans look like multi-persons but is actually only one God-person). He who has seen Jesus Christ has seen the Father (John 14:8, 9). In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:8-10). The biological explanation In an extremely very, very rough comparison (and potentially highly not very accurate comparison as it is extremely limiting to the Godhead), the one God-person of God is comparable to the spirit, soul and body of a human (made in the image of God): the Father God being the Spirit Being of God, the Holy Spirit being the Soul Being of God and the Lord Jesus Christ being the Body-form of God. All these are extremely rough and only 1% accurately in speaking of our great Almighty God but it helps get some measure of understanding across to the limited human mind. Then the logical explanation mixed with mystical or dimensional explanation as well Another way of understanding the one person of the Trinity is as follows (this description probably is more accurate up to 30%). Imagine that it was possible to invent a time machine and I use the time machine to bring the Peter of 1997 to the year 2007; and also bring the Peter of 2017 to the present. Suddenly standing before you are three Peters: one Peter 1997, another Peter 2007 and a third Peter 2017. At this point I ask you a question, “Are there three different separate persons or is there just the same one person Peter from three time dimensions: past, present and future?” The latter answer would be closer to the truth. Now imagine that there are three God-dimensions (for lack of a better word) but one God-person spread across these three dimensions in order to relate to us: God the Father dimension, God the Word dimension and God the Spirit dimension but all the same one God-person. Not one God in three persons but one God in three God-dimensions. It is important to understand that God is one God and one God-person. I am sharing these views because we may have heard them already but my question is, where is the explanation from God's word? Let's look at the other thread |
This question doesn't seem like a popular one on nairaland as there are just two other threads and looking at similar topics shared on nairaland: Posted in July 2021 ifiokjohn:Where you read responses like "Holy spirit is God active force, it is the force God uses to perform his miraculous actions, it is not the God." And another response supported by few xproducer:Here is another response from same thread before kobo, max and sparrow took over, here we see an attempt to explain trinity and possibly the God the Holy Spirit peggywebbs:One more jantman: |
Jesus himself doesn't call him God John.14.26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. (AMP) Now the comforter, is another comforter sent as a teacher, our teacher not as our Lord or God. You know some even believe an error that Jesus returned in the spirit and dwells in us and that is the second coming. John.14.16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever - (AMP) So both Jesus and the Holy Spirit are comforters sent by God, one went back and the other was sent. The Holy Spirit speaks to God, intercedes, on our behalf, our teacher, our intercessor. Rom.8.26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom.8.27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. There are other examples that show that the Holy Spirit is not God but speaks for us to God and tells us what God is saying, just as Jesus revealed to us God's will and commands, the Spirit of truth does same to us as well. So why then do some worship the spirit or the Holy Spirit? |
One more thing that would be noticed by those who study their Bibles is that the Spirit or the Holy Spirit is never worshipped, the Father is worshipped, the Son is worshipped but then what about the Holy Spirit?? I believe the error begins when we believe and equate the Father, the Son and the Spirit are equal beings or the same being because they are listed together, is the Father and the son equal because the son seats at his right hand, well is the spirit and the church the same?Okay maybe that's a bit much, let's read what the same author, John, wrote in 1John.5.7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (NKJV) So he calls them three witnesses, not three gods, let's read previous verses 1John.5.4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 1John.5.5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? John never tells us to believe that Jesus is God or that Jesus is God the Son but that we should believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Now before the verse 7, 1John.5.6 This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness (who testifies), because the Spirit is the truth. So Jesus was revealed by his baptism, by his death and by the Spirit who testifies, now some translations of verse 7 do not include, the Father, the word and the Holy Spirit but they do contain verse 8 1John.5.8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. (NKJV) Now because of the way KJV adds the term agree here but not in verse 7, it gives two different meaning, but in the Greek text it's simply three are one vs 7, three are in one vs 8. This goes to show that the three agree but then the spirit water blood are in one, as in it is in one accord or one person? Reading further from verses 9, John writes that God testifies of the Son, something he reveals in his gospel that Jesus himself says, in John 8:18 Now let's remember that the question is, is the Holy Spirit God? And consider this question... What does Jesus call the Holy Spirit? or who did he reveal the Holy Spirit to be? |
Now for some without a doubt the answer is YES. Why? Well because it is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit they have been taught as regards to trinity. But to others who actually do read and study their Bibles, it's confusing where the terms God the Son and God the Holy Spirit come from, because they understand that the three mentioned are God himself, His word and His Spirit. While some try to make sense of it by saying that because God manifests in His word and through His Spirit, they are God as well. And based on their understanding that the Holy Spirit is manifestation of God upon the earth, the conclusion is that he is God the Spirit and not just the spirit of God has written in the bible. Now if you believe that Jesus is God, then you would also believe that the Holy Spirit is God, now my question to those of you who believe so is this, if the Spirit of God is God because He is the Spirit of God then what about the Seven Spirits of God? Well since you refuse to accept that only God is God but that there are three Gods or three in one God, as some believe is God manifesting in three persons, do you believe that there are not just three but 10 Gods or 9 if the Holy Spirit is one of the seven spirits mentioned in Revelations 1:4, 4:5 & 5:6. Before you say oh, it's the Holy Spirit that's on earth and not the seven spirits, read that Revelation 5:6... which are the seven spirits sent out into every part of the earth. If you say, well, the Holy Spirit is or are the seven spirits, so are there seven gods on earth? Infact the author of revelations, John, didn't write Holy Spirit, he used spirit or the spirit. Even though amplified version adds [Holy] in bracket, like in Revelations 22:17 where the spirit and the bride, which is the Holy Spirit and the Church is mentioned. Do we know and understand the role of the Holy Spirit to the church? Is the Holy Spirit God to the church? Is he to be worshipped? |
Petalss:I am a disciple of Lord Jesus Christ |
Petalss:because there's a satanic agenda behind it, behind the sudden propagation that Jesus is God |
Floky215:wow so you that has should find it easier to tell us, after all you are probably about to finish the bible again for the third time this year, seeing as you started Genesis in Sept you should remember all the lies and contradictions you saw at least some of them 🫡 |

Righteousness2:John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Why quote only this John.8.25 "Tell us who you are," they demanded. Jesus replied, "I am the one I have always claimed to be. Meaning Jesus nevee lied about his identity nor hide it or it is some mystery, they just faild to accept ot believe it, or kept accusing him of saying he is god.. John.8.26 - I have much to say about you and much to condemn, but I won't. For I say only what I have heard from the one who sent me, and he is true." John.8.27 - But they still didn't understand that he was talking to them about his Father. John.8.28 - So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will realize that I am he and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak what the Father taught me. 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. In His Son, whose Son, God's son, who is God, He is the only true God. We are in the father and we are in the son, in God and in the son. Jesus came to reveal to us the Father. |
Righteousness2:2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ Instead of just assuming or believing that it refers to one person, why not read the next verse 2Pet.1.2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, Which is consistent and not some special mystery breeding confusion Rev 1:8 i dont know why kjv left out that in the greek text what is written is kurios ho theos, the Lord God, who was speaking Even your quotes deny what yoy say that Jesus the son of God is God Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Besides Jehovah there is no God. Did he lie? |
Righteousness2:John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Who was the him, John was writing about John.1.4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. It was the Him that carried life and that life He carried was the light of men Of which John came to be a witness of John 1:9 the light and not the him, for the him is God our Father and the life is Jesus who was our light while in the world. For Jesus said I am the life For indeed God made all things through the word and with the word, the light, Jesus Christ. And thats why he is the firstborn of all creation Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Being in the form of God doesn't make one God. Greek translation; who being in God's nature.. ,Theos morphe, behaved not with theft in considering himself equal to God. |
Righteousness2:"Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom" Quoted from pslam 45 referring to christ as God's king and this verse exalts God and calls christ the sceptre of righteousness the sceptre of God's kingdom, like Jacob prophesied in Gen 49 Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand of which Christ is the king. Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Even if my name is He is God, it does mean I am God or is Elihu God? John 10:30-33 I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. And yet Jesus responded to them John.10.36 why do you call it blasphemy when the Holy One who was sent into the world by the Father says, 'I am the Son of God'? (NLT) Was he afraid of them that he lied and hide that he was God? or corrected their miss understanding? Should we listen to men or to Jesus? John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. But we who know the truth, know that at no point did Jesus make himself equal to God To say Jesus did, is to accuse him, because to them a son is equal to the father, what wrong reasoning But Jesus said John.5.19 Jesus replied, "I assure you, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. You can accuse Jesus or listen to him and believe. |
Righteousness2:hopefully neither you, I nor anyone reading these will wake up in hell 😊 But why dont you show us where the wisdom of man is in what you called blablabla Proverbs 23:9 spoke about people like you, but I do not speak just to reply you but for others, those who hear God to hear what I am saying |
Righteousness2:Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. You read that as one person because you believe that are both the same person. glory of God and the one who saves us, Jesus Christ Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. In Christ is the fullness of God, what is fullness of God? Now even Jesus said the Father is in me and I in him, but did he say he is God, does having God in him make him God? Does having Christ in me make me Christ? |
Righteousness2:John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Yes he was, but being before someone or being the firstborn doesn't make one God. John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Whether he exclaimed or called Jesus God is debatable but here is what the writer who wrote that verse concluded John.20.31 But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life. (NLT) Why didnt he write all this is so you believe that Jesus is God? |
Righteousness2:John 10:30 I and my Father are one. Saying this means Jesus is God, then Rom.6.3 Or have you forgotten that when we became Christians and were baptized to become one with Christ Jesus, we died with him? Am I also Christ? And if I am Christ Jesus then am I also God? Then shouldn't it be quadrinity with me as a member of the Godhead? |
Exceed15:Phil.4.6 - Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Phil.4.7 - If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. |
Hussein27:but L sounds different from G, is it like your accent or something Serious there are many lords and kings, who are rulers buy there is only one God, the creator |
Righteousness2:"John 1:1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." the word WAS God but you said the word is God. 😀 The origin of the word, it was the beginning which was with God and was of God. the word was with God and from God came the word. I know some say the word was divine as an interpretation of theos as different from theon. Even John wrote we beheld the glory of the son of the Father, and not calling him the Father. |
Righteousness2:now do you show yourself as a man whom God has given understanding When you say JESUS Christ is GOD. JESUS Christ is son of GOD. Do you call God a liar or his prophet who wrote Deut.6.4 "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone? Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Before i begin, his name not names, meaning one name. Even in the hebrew text it is His name, gibbor el translated as mighty God. Now is elijah God, is joel God, is gabriel God. For God said of himself Gen 35:11 I am el-shaddai God Almighty. In case you missed it.. GOD ALMIGHTY ALmighty Now everlasting-Father, abiad, should i mention other hebrews with ab in their name as well, instead of father of many nations, he shall be father of eternity, the one through whom eternal life comes. Even Jesus called God Almighy Father and said JHVH is our Father and we should take no one else has Father. |
Righteousness2:"No man can understand the things of GOD except GOD be with him. It is only through HIS Word ( The Holy Bible) that we can Have understanding of who HE is." Is the word of God not the son of God, Jesus Christ? Has it become a book? |
Righteousness2:"The Person of JESUS Christ being GOD ALMIGHTY is a Mystery" How can he who reveals the glory of God still be a mystery? Do you know what a mystery is? |
Frigga13:to him alone? And his Father? or he doesnt have one? |
Hussein27:Jesus is Lord, Jesus is not God. There is only one God, JHVH, creator of the heavens and the earth and one Mediator and Lord, the Christ, son of God, Jesus. |
Jokerman:so the Father mated with Mary to bear the demigod Jesus? or the Father became a man? 😯 |
achorladey:well thank God, Christ is the son of God. |
achorladey:okau sorry, jesus is god who told stories, so he is the story telling god 😃 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 |
