1. The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) noted with concern the ongoing violent reaction on the announced results from the collation exercise currently in progress at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

2. While appreciating the inalienable right of Nigerians in a democratic system to express their feelings in a protest against injustice, they
must never the less remain non-violent.

3. The CPC abhors violence by all Nigerians in the course of expressing grievances

4. The CPC has throughout its campaign preached to its supporters to eschew violence. In the circumstance we therefore, call on all our supporters to remain calm and non-violent and prepare themselves for the next round of elections on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

5. All CPC supporters should come out enmasse on April 26 to vote for the CPC and overthrow those responsible for the evident injustice to our Party and the nation.

6. We also condemn in the strongest term the brutality of the security forces against unarmed protesters and innocent civilians and call on
them to show restraint in handling all situations of civil protest.

7. We call on the federal government to investigate and determine the role of the police and other security forces in the allege shooting of about 100 innocent Nigerians in Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Port Harcourt, Owerri and other
places.

Back in 97 on my way to school, early mor mor . I was cornered by 3 area boys with daggers and charms they ordered my to empty my pocket and take of my wristwatch. They were speaking Yoruba and as Waffy sharp guy I pretend like say I no sabi their language. However, they got restless and were ready to spill blood when a lone police officer he looked haggard and hungry he had no hardware (gun) but he knew his duty was to protect and serve he walked with confidence, ordered the area boys to take a walk. That was my hero till this day. Na me know wetin I take eye see that morning.

Back in 08 my friends and I were pulled over and my banker friend refused to drop shandii since we have committed no crime, they asked for his document abi na particulars. Everything was up to date, then they asked him to recite his plate number na dia wahala burst. Mind you the officer in question was wearing a native outfit with sandals and police bullet proof vest with a mean looking AK 47. With strong eye the goat pikin ordered the driver  out of the vehicle at gun  Point. Like play play they were making a case on stolen vehicle. We had to square 6k to stop the harrasment. The one wey come pain me pass we had to pay gate man to open and close the gate.

Nevertheless, I still believe there is hope for reforming the NPF. Till today I cannot say the police are useless for I have witness the power of the badge in the hands of officers who truly believe in their duty.
