Logicboy03: See this liar? Logicboy03: See this one? This ignorant christian talking about the bible. That's why I don't like talking to you - You don't know scripture and wont admit it. Rather, you ALWAYS result to insult. You can't even make one statement without an insult. I don't know when you'll grow up and stop being a kid on this forum. The same law of Moses says IF you must keep the law, you must keep the WHOLE. Do you still apply ALL other laws and regulations? Was the law of Moses written to the church or to national Israel? You (Logicboy03) and your colleagues ONLY resort to the laws of Moses whenever you want to discredit God's word but you guys failed to differential the dispensation it was given and the dispensation we are now - God doesn't operate the new dispensation with the Old laws. Christians operate in the law of the Spirit of life IN CHRIST. On the 10 commandments, the fact that churches remind people of it doesn't make them right. The whole of those commandments are fulfilled in LOVE, which is the basis or foundation for our New Covenant on which the church of God is built upon. |
^^^ Brother, you're NOT talking scriptures please. This is a clear case of a tree is known by its fruit. Look very well bro and gaze into the word of God - Do you see these things align with scriptures? Do you also forget "out of the heart the actions proceeds" ![]() |
@uchkochi, I sent you an email via Nairaland automated system. Check your email please. Thank you! |
^^^ The person you're talking to is NEVER getting it. The same thing you said had been said to him times without counting. It saddens my heart when people who don't know NOTHING wants to teach others that knows. However, I believe Christ is what what hidden in all the books of the law, NOT the law in itself. I weep within my heart when I see how Pastors use all these books of law of Moses to feed on God's people but the real purpose of those books are neglected. smh |
I was going to reply bidam line by line but I took all his posts as SPAM, so I don't take him serious anymore. I was still online when he was making those comments but I felt it was waste of time talking to him. |
People of God, this is not a laughing matter o. Things are getting worse. Something has to be done on issues like this, seriously. |
^^^ Shatap there...... You think say na your country I dey live abi wetin dey worry. Tithe wey you wan collect no allow you think again abi Be careful yourself o . See, I dey watch some of your boss on TBN right now. Guess what, they are collecting TITHing..... ![]() |
Bidam: The tithe is the Lord's (Le. 27:30). Ten percent of your gross income is not yours--it belongs to God ![]() |
^ Don't mind the jobless kid - I pray it doesn't get worst before he understands his youthful values. #Out of here! Smh |
^ I dey wait make you finish all your methodology ![]() |
Bidam: Under the Law tithing was commanded. Under Grace, we do not tithe legalistically, but because we love the Lord (2 Co. 5:14). Do you think God would ask less love, less faith, and less cheerful giving from a N.T. Christian than from a Jew under the Law? Tithing, for the Christian, is not a matter of bondage. Bidam: Abraham Commenced it (Ge. 14:18-20). Jacob Continued it (Ge. 28:20-22). Moses Confirmed it (Le. 27:30). Malachi Commanded it (Mal. 3:10). Jesus Commended it (Mt. 23:23). God Commissioned it (1 Co. 9:14). Paul Conformed it (1 Co. 16:2). A study of these Scriptures shows that tithing is a scriptural principle. Abraham and Jacob tithed 500 years BEFORE the Law was instituted. Moses, Malachi, and Jesus spoke of tithing DURING the period of the Law. The Apostle Paul explained tithing AFTER the Law. Christians ought to tithe! Bidam: The tithes and offerings in the O.T. were used for the Temple and the Temple ministry (i.e., the priests, etc.) (Mal. 3:10). 1 Co. 9:13-14 applies this principle to the N.T. church. "Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? EVEN SO hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel." Verse 13 relates to the O.T. practice. Verse 14 carries this practice over to N.T. churches. Your tithes and offerings are for the support, upkeep, and ministry of your Church. Tithes should never be designated--they are to be left free for use as the church body decides. |

Image123: Gosh, what is the old covenant? try to be concise thanks.@ Image123 and Everyone, Bros, as much as I tried to be concise, you also must be prepared to READ. Reading and studying helps us to understand. I tried to be concise but came up with this from my abandoned thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1202287/set-free-law-spirit-life So make una no think say na COPY and PASTE job I do o... Okay, back to your question. Here's the answer culled from that my thread on the above link,Goshen360: There're law (of Moses) keepers who teaches Christians that it is ONLY the ceremonial or civic law that was abolished and that, the 10 commandments which is the moral law was NOT abolished and NOT part of the Old Covenant or that the 10 commandments are NOT of the Old Covenants. They teach that the Old Covenant that was abolished was NOT the Ten Commandments but are the Law of Moses; that is the civil/ceremonial ONLY. But what saith the scriptures? The Bible clearly teaches that the Sabbath was part of the OLD covenant and that the 10 commandments ARE THE OLD COVENANT and/or inclusive IN THE OLD COVENANT and this OLD COVENANT is ABOLISHED because a NEW COVENANT (in Christ, not through Moses) is again established by God. Goshen360: The following scriptures clearly says, the 10 commandments IS the old covenant. Goshen360: We've seen that Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights in God's presence. What would he be doing for that period that long ONLY to receive just 10 commandments? NO! ALL (Moral or 10 commandments, civil and ceremonial laws) things spoken and given to Moses was given to him as a UNIT or as a WHOLE within that 40 days and nights. It was given TO ESTABLISH A COVENANT and to be observed AS COMMANDMENTS between God and NATIONAL ISRAEL. Hence, ALL that God said was a commandment, NOT just what he wrote on stones. So, when you read scriptures like the below that the OLD COVENANT IS CANCELLED, then you\we know or understand what is cancelled, abolished and done away with. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:...In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. - Hebrews 8:7-8, 13 New Living Translation (©2007) Then he said, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. - Hebrews 10:9 There're many scriptures that point to the 10 commandments AND THE ALL OTHERS AS THE OLD COVENANT but to avoid too long epistle, I'll stop with the ones already given above. You may ask, are we then permitted to kill, bear false witness, steal etc etc because we are NOT under the law of Moses? The answer is NO! We DON'T kill, bear false witness, steal, commit adultery etc etc NOT BECAUSE IT WAS GIVEN TO NATIONAL ISRAEL AS WRITTEN ON THE STONE BUT BECAUSE IT WAS WRITTEN IN OUR HEART OF FLESH AS INSTRUCTION/COMMANDMENT UNDER THE OUR NEW COVENANT. WE DON'T DO IT BECAUSE THE OLD COVENANT SAYS SO BUT BECAUSE IT'S A FULFILLMENT OF OLD THAT IS EMBEDDED IN OUR NEW NATURE AND COVENANT ROOTED IN LOVE. New International Version (©1984) The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. - Romans 13:9-10 Apostle Paul simply recalled what our Lord taught concerning the ten commandments in Matthew 22:36-40. In other words, when the love of God and love for our neighbours flows in our lives as believers under the new covenant, you will NEVER think of sleep with another man's wife or husband, you won't think of stealing, killing etc etc without the consciousness of the law as written on stones to Israel but with the consciousness of LOVE nature that now flows within you as a Christian. Lemme stop here.....I don write long epistle for short question. My brother, Image123 abeg no vex, you know say I like to dey explain things in details...... ![]() |
Image123: Gosh, what is the old covenant? try to be concise thanks.Sorry, I just found one of your questions, reading through the thread again. Please point to the others. Thanks. Lemme start warning up to scatter this thread with this question while waiting for the rest question. But make sure you listen after I teach you the TRUTH from scriptures o....when I answer this question. U hear me so? I will tell you EXACTLY what the OLD COVENANT IS from scriptures, hold on bro. |
brilapluz: AM TRIED OF THE WAY PEOPLE KEEP SHIFTING GOALPOSTS WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN CORNERED. ![]() |
Chei, see my Pastor, Christemmbassey as he don open their yansh with truth and real revelation. Some people claim to have revelations but we ALL KNOW IT'S COPY AND PASTE INTERNET WORK that's far from truth and revelation. ![]() |
Image123: you happen to be dodging at least three of my questions gosh. Tithing is not limited to the law or before or even after. You're attempting to limit the Word.Who is limiting the word of God? Haven't you read Christ MADE US MINISTERS OF TH HE NEW COVENANT? You and your colleagues are the ones MIXING THE LAW AND THE GRACE TOGETHER FOR CHRISTIANS. God TOOK AWAY the first in order to ESTABLISH the new covenant. Ask me any of your three questions and I will do justice without going in circles like Bidam and Ola your colleagues often does when asked questions. ![]() |
^^^ I agree 100% with what you wrote up there. But how does it relate with the question I asked. I want us to focus on the pre-law tithing now so we're focused. My first point is very clear - the tithing taught in worship places today is ACCORDING TO THE LAW because they quote Malachi. What you have in Malachi is what is COMMANDED in the law of Moses. It's very simply - If the law (of Moses) is fulfilled or abolished in Christ, how do you tell people ONLY the TITHE still remains How ![]() 2. I want you to be honest and answer the question first - I don't like when we discuss and you're dodging questions. Again, the tithing done in worship places today, is it the predated tithing or the tithing according to the law 3. When you answer, we'll take it up from there. |
The 8Ps of the Gospel of Salvation - Romans 1:16-17 The main theme of the epistle of Romans is the Gospel. After the initial greeting, Paul, with unsurpassed skill, begins the exposition of the great Gospel message. These two verses introduce the Gospel theme of the epistle to the Romans. 1. The Praise for the Gospel "I am not ashamed of the gospel". Culture and modern philosophies (which are just old philosophies in new clothes) do not change the greatness of the Gospel and no one ever needs to be ashamed of the Gospel. It is the greatest blessing known to man. 2. The Person in the Gospel "Gospel of Christ". Christ is the central key to the Gospel message. Leave Christ out and you have no Gospel. Some may claim to preach the Gospel, but if they do not preach Christ as the central key to the Gospel, they are not preaching the Gospel of Christ. Christ is what makes the Gospel different than any other religious belief or message. 3. The Power of the Gospel "It is the power of God". The word translated "power" is the root word for our English words dynamic and dynamite. Nothing has the power to change men like the Gospel. Look at Paul as an example. The Gospel changed him from a brutal anti-Christ persecutor to the greatest of ambassadors for Christ. 4. The Purpose of the Gospel "...unto Salvation...". The purpose of the Gospel is to save people from the damnation of judgment. The Gospel is the good news that salvation is available in Jesus Christ. The greatest need of man is salvation. No other need compares. Salvation through the Gospel of Christ satisfies the greatest of need of man for all eternity. 5. The Possessing of the Gospel "Believeth". One can possess the blessing of the Gospel by faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not of works. "By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves... not of works" (Ephesians 2:8, 9). Some think money will buy them a ticket to heaven, and these folks are willing to shell out great amounts to avoid eternal condemnation, but it is only faith in Jesus Christ that will keep one out of the eternal condemnation and get one into the glories of heaven. 6. The People for the Gospel "To the Jew... also to the Greek". The Gospel is for everyone. The Gospel message is universal in application. It is not limited to any race or nationality. Anyone, be he Jew or Gentile, who by faith believes in Jesus Christ will be saved. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). The rich and the poor, the famous and the obscure all need the Gospel and are all included in the Gospel invitation. 7. The Purity of the Gospel "Therein is the righteousness of God revealed". The Gospel, like nothing else, tells man what is right and what is wrong. The Gospel comes to save sinners — therefore man needs to know what is wrong, what is sinful, and the Gospel will inform man of God's righteousness which is a contrast to sin. If men preach the Gospel, they will preach the righteousness of God. To claim to preach the Gospel but not declare the righteousness of God exposes one as a fraudulent witness of the Gospel. The Gospel message will clean up society as nothing else. 8. The Performance From the Gospel "The just shall live by faith". When a person becomes saved, he will live a different life which will be a better and holier life. "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Corinthians 5:17); "Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness" (Ephesians 4:24). Salvation sanctifies. It changes ones lifestyle. Lack of change in a person's lifestyle after salvation can justify suspicion that there has been no salvation in that person. |
Bidam: na wa for this guy sha even me sef don tire to dey argue wit you,...my point is tithing predates the law..u keep quoting the law to support your theory.. Abraham gave gifts to Melchizedek a type of Christ BEFORE THE LAW...HAbaWe ALL agree tithing predates the law. YES, we agree. The tithing done in worship places today, is it the predated tithing or the tithing according to the law Please don't run away from my question now o. I want us to focus on pre-law tithing so we see who is deceiving who. Please answer the question first. |
OLAADEGBU: Since Jesus is not talking to you my advise is that you yank out the pages of the synoptic gospels as you have done to the OT and start reading from the Acts of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you into all truth. This is one thing I don't like about you when you're been asked to explain scriptures you took out of context. How do you mean he should yank out the pages of the synoptic gospel? Because he doesn't agree with you? You are the very one guilty of 'PRIVATE INTERPRETATION' here and no scripture is of private interpretation. You are standing ALONE on Matthew 23:23 and applying it to Christians. You and Image123 are insulting Christ, Christians and Christianity by 'implying' scribes and pharisees are Christians and therefore what Christ said to them applies to christains. You people don't even know what was established by Christ in the gospel and was carried on into the New Testament that started AFTER the death of Christ by the Apostle. Do you see the Apostles being chosen carry on the teaching of tithing for Christians? You CAN'T have CHRISTIANS when Christ was still walking on earth. They were FIRST called CHRISTians in Acts. The brother is talking from scriptures (Hebrews 9:15-20) and NOT STANDING on Matthew 23:23 like you. |
Image123: Every scripture applies to the church."Every scripture applies to the church". Then you should start apply scriptures that tells you to stone people to death. You should start apply scriptures that tells you to kill your children when in rebellion against you. You should start apply scriptures that doesn't allow you to mix more than one cloth materials or mix more than one farming. You should start apply scriptures that tells you to kill animals for sacrifices. Going back to before the law, you should start applying burnt offerings, marrying more than one wife after all, your Abraham you hold dearly for pre-tithe married two wives. ALL of these things applies to you - start doing them. New International Version (©1984) The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming--not the realities themselves....- Hebrews 10:1 Image123, you are beginning to err in things of the Spirit and biblical interpretation just because you want to hold onto the false teaching of tithing for CHRISTIANS. I owe you to correction in the word of God. Now, if ALL or EVERY scriptures APPLIES to the church, then how will you explain this scriptures in line with what I said above? New Living Translation (©2007) Then he said, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. - Hebrews 10:9 Is the first covenant written in the air? Doesn't the first covenant have the words of the covenant? If EVERY scriptures applies to the church and this scripture says, IT'S BEING CANCELED. Does what had been canceled STILL APPLY to ANYONE not to talk of the church ![]() For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Rom 15:4 Yes, this is scriptures and what is the key word here? FOR OUR LEARNING! You learn from other's mistake, we learn how God created the world and dealt with people in the past. We learn the loving kindness of God etc etc It was written for our LEARNING NOT FOR OUR APPLICATION. If whatsoever things was written for our APPLICATION, then we will still be APPLYING things I mentioned above. You need to start asking the Holy Spirit the Grace of RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH - That's my advice for you. 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Yes, ALL SCRIPTURES is given by inspiration of God. Does ALL scriptures APPLY TO US AS CHRISTIANS Have you ever asked yourself why biblical writers will often have the phrase, "to the children of Israel"? and phrases like, "to the church.....which is at Corinth"? Have you ever asked yourself that question or you allowed tithe to blind your reasoning with the Holy Spirit? It's because, the dispensation God was talking to then is NOT the same dispensation God is talking to NOW!Again, what do we do with Matthew 23v23 and other such scriptures that you don't like? We should not discard, we should not apply, so what should we do with it? Does the person who Jesus is addressing make His words less true? Must He be addressing angels or Peter before we take Him serious? Jesus said"I came to call sinners to repentance" . He said " What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder". He said "God is not a God of the dead but of the living". He said " You must be born again, and God so loved the world that He gave". All these were to Pharisees and Sadducees. Many of His preaching, teachings, answers and parables were to pharisees. Are all these irrelevant to us because we are the church? I can't believe what you wrote up there! Apostle Paul said, "Follow me as I follow Christ" or "imitate me as I imitate Christ". Following Paul's example IS AS THOUGH FOLLOWING CHRIST'S EXAMPLE. You don't even know when Christ is teaching to establish what the Apostles will further carry on into the new testament that will start after the death of Christ and when Christ is correcting or rebuking an act - I doubt you know the difference. The thing we see in Matthew 23:23 is Christ REBUKING pharisees and scribes for the careful observant of the law but lacking the TRUE meaning, purpose and intention of the law (in this case, of tithing). We will keep on REBUKING you tithe teacher as long as you want to bind the legalistic law of a MUST 10% on God's people. The purpose of tithing was to train or teach the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL in SHARING THEIR INCREASE AND RESOURCES WITH LEVITES AND IT WAS COMMANDED AS 10% (OF THE INCREASE), NOW THAT FAITH, GRACE AND TRUTH HAD COME BY JESUS CHRIST (John 1:17)......THERE'S NO NEED FOR 10% ANYMORE - WE SHARE WITH LOVE, WE GIVE BY OUR NEW NATURE NOT RESTRICTED TO LAW OF 10%. IT COULD BE LESS OR MORE. THEY (ISRAEL) HAD BEEN TRAINED ALREADY IN THE WAY OF GIVING. NOW, under the new covenant, grace based giving replaced the LAW STIPULATED giving and sharing of a MUST 10%. New Living Translation (©2007) Let me put it another way. The law (OF TITHING....mind added and expanded) was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith. And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law (OF TITHING) as our guardian. - Galatians 3:24 |
Hmmmmm! Father, I thank you for the revelation of your word in this end time. Lord Jesus, I thank you for that when you came, you came Grace and TRUTH personified. I thank you Holy Spirit for the ministration of LIFE through my brothers, wordthots and christemmbassey. Glory to God. |
@ man of God, christemmabassey, God bless you. |
@ OP, CHRISTIANity is not the same as CHURCHianity |
J luv u: To understand what deliverance can do see Hebrew 11:35" women received their dead raised to life again, others were tortured not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. that mean those that accept deliverance received their dead back to life again, dead what? dead marriages, relationship, career, businesses, finances, spiritual life, etc but those that refused deliverance were tortured. tortured of what? tortured of hardship, poverty, broken home, frustrations, lack of helper, loneliness, hatred, etc we all need deliverance. Being born again not withstanding, if not for anything else at least for spiritual recharge.if you have confessed Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, it´s not automatic for you to be free from evil covenants, but a ticket for your freedom through deliverance in His Name. It's always best to understand TEXT so you can understand what the Spirit is communicating to the church of God. Deliverance in that context, is the Greek word, apolytrosis and it means, releasing effected by payment of ransom a) redemption, deliverance b) liberation procured by the payment of a ransom So when that scripture says, NOT ACCEPTING DELIVERANCE...it means those NOT ACCEPTING PAYMENT OF RANSOM PROCURED BY CHRIST, NOT ACCEPTING WHAT CHRIST HAD ALREADY PAID FOR. Stop reading bible, start STUDYING bible. Christ had already TRANSLATED US FROM THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS INTO HIS KINGDOM OF LIGHT. This light is not NEPA light o. So what that scripture is saying is, it is those who don't accept the ransom paid by Christ (redemption) that are still in bondage. |
JIL: ^^^Na so the bros dey always perambulate all the time, it's not new. As for potentpraise, IF YOU HAVE SEEN IMAGE123...YOU HAVE SEEN POTENTPRAISE. Look no further. He has been caught pants down. ![]() |
Lord! I can see many professed Christians are very far from what Christianity is about. Many people are still practicing CHURCHianity thinking that is Christianity. People come to Christ but rather than believe what Christ did to set them free in this new creation life, they believe what one their ancestors did to keep them in bondage. |
Oh, my goodness! I don't have time to deal with this subject today o. @ ifihearam and others who says deliverance is for CHRISTIANS, will you mind showing us from scriptures ONE SINGLE CHRISTIAN in the early church that deliverance was conducted for? Someone said the whole purpose of Christ was to come and deliver us, NOW, if Christ has delivered us, what deliverance are you talking about again? Is it not for us to LIVE n freedom that remains. You people are simply insulting the works of Christ and saying demons can live in the temple of God, our body. I need answers to the above question please. |
