I have given you the best advice of life. You fight against your maker doesn't change His existence rather, your own life is sinking right in front of your eyes. Dude, if you understand time waits for nobody in life, you will stop all this pampers and diaper attitude you often display here. Do something meaningful with your life. Make the best out life. There are people younger than you who are millionaires or more than that. You are here spewing ignorance about God is Omnipotence or less. Go get yourself a good life so you can be happy with yourself at your old age.

So what has your clinging to us done for u? What? Leave us alone if we are deluded. I have told you that your mind is veiled. God doesn't have to come down to prove to me before I believe he exist. He gives me the proves and evidences for me to believe. If you don't believe He exist, that is your own headache, not God's. Do precious things with your time in life, when you are old; you can have something to fall back to. Time is not on your side because you are not growing younger, every seconds counts in your life.

Nothing is too much for me. I'm just saying, it's time for you to start doing something meaningful with your life rather than wasting it here on Nairaland by opening some senseless and illogical threads. Grow up boy. Life is too sweet for you to challenge your creator/maker. God is not proving Himself to you because you don't believe. Your thread doesn't change the status of God. Get life and get out your mess.

Many have misunderstood the meaning of church growth towards building the body of Christ and equipping God's people. The church grows in two different aspect. First is quality while the second is quantity; the church is internally groaning and advancing spiritually to conform fully to the divine nature and character of God; these is the first growth of the church and the most important, because when it come to the church increase in number, it is the positive character of the Christians that will draws sinners to Christ. It is wrong to assume that Church growth means gathering crowds to fill auditoriums, and then using them to raise offerings to pay for television and radio broadcasts.

The first thing to be considered when thinking of church growth is the spiritual maturity of the members, not the number of people gathered. It is often heard in the structural church gatherings “we had a full church last Sunday”, which sounds foolish, having a full church is when the people have come to the full measure of the stature of the fullness of Jesus Christ; God needs mature sons not multitudes. This is why the church, the body of Christ is not growing - Don't you know that the right of inheritance is yours? But you are not getting it because you are still a babe in the things of God and as long as you are a babe that doesn't grow, you are unskilled. It's time to man up! Those who continue to be on baby's diapers, pampers, and napkins are not ready to transact kingdom business. Galatians 4:1; Hebrews 5:11-6:3.

God is more interested in the spiritual maturity of a few people than the gathering of multitudes. What can be accomplished through thousands of people, can be achieved by one person through Christ. During Jesus’ earthly ministry, multitudes always gathered around Him to hear the message of the kingdom, but Christ never attempted to train them at the same time. Instead, from the multitudes, He chose 120, and from the 120 disciples, He chose 12 apostles and from the 12 apostles, he set apart 3 apostles Peter, James, and John and made John the closest apostle among all (because of his apt to revelation - mine added). Jesus administered training in different ways according to their levels. Spiritual maturity is the major aspect of church growth!

Without changing the lives of people daily from sin to righteousness means that we're not building Church, for the beauty of the Church is the character of the people. It's foolish to spend billions of dollars building physical structures while the people are dying in their sins and going to hell, offerings of the people should be spent to transform lives, not to build physical houses. Until things are done rightly, the body of Christ will stop having Christians cooked on one side but raw on the other side. We will stop having Christians who are only Christians on Sundays and only on Facebook. We will stop "acting" like a saint while we are actually involved in character modification.

mkmyers45: The word "was" in Genesis 1:2 is more accurately translated "became". Such a word choice makes the gap interpretation easier to see in modern English.

It's like giving an account of a past event. You cannot use "is" instead of "was". Whether it is "was" or "became", there is no place in the scriptures that says the earth was flooded because of lucifer sin and God didn't tell us about any pre-adamic world. It is simply as it is when God created the earth like that.

I don't trust that scripture of Psalm 104:30 as related to Gen.1:2 because of the following reasons:

a. Checking many translations, some, even one of the king James version has it in lower case "s" for the spirit while some have it as upper case "S".

b. The Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters in Gen.1:2 as it relates to UNFINISHED (unformed and unfilled/empty) states of the earth at that time of Gen.1:2. This is a simple truth that the Holy Spirit participated in the creation work. Read more commentary on that Psalm 104:30 here: http://bible.cc/psalms/104-30.htm plus different translations.

Yes, the heaven (third heaven) was created or existed before the earth heaven. I hope you know that we have our own earth heaven which man can explore which is one immediate sky and the outer space. This is what you see in the creation of Genesis, NOT THE THIRD heaven where God abode. It is true that Angels existed before the earth were created but they don't reside in this earth but rather in the third heaven. Christ, Lucifer, Angels and God pre-existed the creation of the earth but didn't reside on earth for it wasn't created until the time of creation in Gen.1

There is nothing in the scripture of Isaiah and Ezekiel that Satan fallen from the beginning was on earth here which they called the pre-adamic world. All the context shows it was in heaven. Kindly read those two scriptures very well. The scriptures of John simply talked about Satan after he was sent out of heaven and he deceived Adam and Eve, that is "from the beginning" that was referred to in that verse. Besides, when we read in scriptures "in the beginning", there are ONLY two of them. The one that refers to time/space and matter is Gen.1:1 and the one that pre-existed Gen.1:1 without date/time and it's eternal is John 1:1.

There is nothing in Gen.1:3 that says all the above mentioned existed before the period of six days creation. Don't let people be reading into the scriptures for you my brother. If they already existed, why then did the bible says, God MADE them? If the sun, moon and stars already existed, why did the bible says they were MADE. You don't make what already existed, right?

Don't mind me bro, it time that is one of my issues. However, the Gap theory is simply heresy. The Bible didn't tell us about lucifer flood so why are they telling us that. Besides, the darkness in Gen.1:2 is not as a result of lucifer sin and punishment to the earth. How will lucifer sin and God punish the whole earth? Adam sinned and through Adam, all became sinner, that is reasonable enough because all came through Adam. The darkness in Gen.1:2 was like that when God originally created the earth in an unfilled and unformed state. Job 38:1-9 tells us where and what kind of darkness Gen.1:2 is. Verse 9 of Job 38 give the answer.

Also, if there is Gap btw Gen.1:1-2, then the whole creation will be RE-creation NOT creation. What the problem is that, they take Gen.1:1 as a created order. Gen.1:1 is an introductory statement in which from verse 2 to end of creation is the breakdown of HOW Gen.1:1 was done. It is also not a summary statement. If Gen.1:1 is a summary statement, then what will Gen.2:1 be? "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them".

When we read Gen.1:1 that God created the heavens and the earth. Some translation have the "heavenS" in plural while others have it in singular, "heaven". The correct translation should be "heavens" because since this account is mainly on the creation details of the earth and there are 2 heavens mentioned as regards to our earth (universe), then it makes sense to have that heaven in Gen.1:1 as plural with "S". The firmament was called heaven and the place where God fixed the sun, moon and stars is also called heaven....making it more than one.

There is no scripture that plainly points to the fact that it was lucifer sin that cause the water in Gen.1:2, not one scriptures. The Gap theory are just making up un-scriptural reasons just to prove a point. So you mean, God first created heaven and earth, satan destroyed it and then again, God re-created it and then Adam now sinned and the time of Noah and God wiped it off and then later again, God started all over again. This is pure heresy. The bible clearly says, God at the original states of the earth, it was water and from there, God made/formed some of His creation while He created some out of nothing. The Bible never said there is Gap, so why do some say there is Gap in between Gen.1:1 and 1:2. The only pre-Adamic world we know of as told by the word of God is in the third heaven where lucifer sinned "in his heart" and was cast down and we are not told his sin brought flood anywhere in the scriptures. If God don't care to tell us about lucifer sin and pre-adamic sin that brought flood to/in Gen.1:1-2, why are we reading into the scriptures? The Gap theory and Pre-Adamic teachings is pure heresy and should be refuted.

Am sorry. I do not dip myself into what is not part of the scriptures. I read and study wide but only within the materials that surrounds the canon of the scriptures. Why will I waste my time studying about the gospel according to Mary Magdalene and which soul do I want to win with such since it is not included in the canon of the scriptures. It will be a waste of time because it will seems like "speaking in tongues" when no one understand and it profits none rather than "speak with understanding" so many can benefit and be edified. Delafruita: the genealogy in luke has 15 more names than the one in mattew and 25 of the names differ.

Luke's account was detailed involving ALL characters and tracing down to Adam but Matthew's account focused on the important characters. This difference is name is due to that fact that OT was written in Hebrew while NT was written in Greek. The 25 more names is due to the detailed accounts of Luke.

Angel appeared to Mary before the conception announcing she shall conceive by the power of the Most High through the Holy Spirit. Angel appeared to Joseph not to divorce Mary. Angel appeared to Joseph to warm him to take the little Jesus and flew to Egypt. Angel appeared Joseph to return to Nazareth after the death of Herod. So which of the event are you referring to that reads contradiction to you?

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem. Matt. 2:1 clearly says Jesus was born in "Bethlehem of Judea" in the days of Herod the king. Kjv

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. ([And] this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. Luke 2:1-3 Kjv

My thought here is Caesar Augustus would have given a decree from place that covers a wide range of authority for the context talked about Cyrenius being governor of Syria and same context says every one INTO HIS OWN CITY. I don't see any contradiction yet for verse 4 says:

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David)

This is the same Bethlehem of Judea that was mentioned in Matt. 2:1. This is where Jesus was born as confirmed by 6-7 of Luke 2. Though I need to study more the cities, towns and locations around these mentioned locations. However, what I have known is this - Herod the great's kingdom was divided into three ways and given to his sons as follows: Archelaus ruled Judea, Samaria and Idumea; Herod Philip II ruled the regions north of Galilee (Luke 3:1); and Herod Antipas ruled Galilee and Perea (Luke 3:1). I have a chart illustrating the family tree of Herod the Great and his sons that might help you if you don't mind. I may have to scan and post it if need be.

I already know that the GAP theory/teaching is HERESY but I have also learnt more things from the article above. I thought we could use this thread to teach ourselves but you have given an article that detailed enough to the whole thing. Thank you and God bless you. Oga mi sir, I have been digging deeper. There is much treasures beneath than we have on the surface (in life and in the word of God). Only that I have to write my own article from my own digging. Sometimes, it's lengthy but I want to be original. Coming up with heavy stuffs soon,lolz. Just waiting on some study materials to get some more clarification. I have always thought we are "grown" up ones and we should be having a mature discussion on this board. Everyone presenting his/her opinion with respect to others. I stopped jumping into every thread except the meaningful ones simply because many that don't know wants to keep arguing and wasting time, going in circle without reasoning with a better explanation of a subject. Let us be "mature" and respectful to others in our presentation. You don't have to be a Christian to be "mature". It takes maturity, lessons of life and experience to be mature, otherwise, we keep acting like "babies".
