Kenny903: Not yet. Will do that once I insert Sims. Still using wifi to set it up and install apps and games You actually don't need to insert sims to get it done, use the your mailing to sign up. One of the first things you might want to do is to download some of themes, the default themes can be misleading sometimes, many people find them bland, thinking the display or even icons on Xiaomi phones is bad or weird. |

Trex4: Thanks bro the thing is I have to squeeze to get the Mi 9 and I've waited enough I wanted to get the Mi 6 then Mi 8 and now Mi 9 buy don't you think the Mi 8 is still reasonable today or even the Mi 9 se? Hehehehe, kuku wait for the Mi 10/X na . Seriously, this kind of waiting deserves some squeezing; get the Mi 9, you can wait for price to drop. If heavy gaming is not your cup of tea, the Mi 9 SE is great, will even handle most heavy games well, though not as smoothly as the Mi 8 /9. |

Trex4: Sorry 4 The question but I was wondering if the Mi 8 is still a good phone for 2019 or should I just squeeze and get the Mi 9? Or is the Mi 9 se still as good as the Mi 8. Please tell me The Mi 8 is inferior only to the Mi 9, if money is not an issue, just get the Mi 9. |

CHESTER48: I had a pixel 1.and I've sold it. Long time. With my iPhone 7 and got another. And I tweaked the build. Prop. You actually created a thread and started derailing yourself, not nice at all. You could have named it the Google Pixel photography thread rather . |

olayinkajnr: Lol. Thanks. I can give you the mobile version for free.
And by the way, while setting the phone up, I selected Nigeria as my region and an update came in 10.2.8 about 700mb. I did the update, then I changed my region to India so that I can use font and face unlock.
Another update came in immediately I switched to India as my region 10.2.9 about 1.2gb with the same security patch as 10.2.8.
What do you advice? You can go with the Indian update, they will eventually push it to Nigeria and other parts of the world. |

CHESTER48: selective auto focus Samsung used it on s5. Fortunately I used s5. And it was bad. It blurs out almost everything. If they were sure of it, why didn't they continue using single camera with the selective focus. Why implement dual camera for portrait. The problem is not just from the phone bro. They are so many things a google phone has that other Android phone doesn't. Live the selinus permissive mode. Dsp. Camera 2 Api. Etc. Hey! Don't let them go free like that, you use a pixel 2xl or pixel 3/3Xl? |

Glass na glass, and 'prone to break' na one of the properties of glass. Gorilla glass protection is not to guarantee resistance to breakage, but mainly resistance to scratches. |

kakameks: Thanks for the advise.
Update. Took the phone to the nearest repairer and after "reading the fone from his computer" he said the charging CPU and the board is damaged. Later in the day, I removed the back cover and placed it under the sun for long time. Now if I try switching it on, it vibrates shows the "MI" logo then shows charge battery symbol before it goes off. when I plugged it in to charge and try booting it, it does the above process but now it loops it continuously no matter how long I leave it on charge.
I tried Fast booting but still no luck.
the phone is currently chilling in a bag of rice.
is there any remedies? can the phone be salvaged? Sorry ooo, but many of these so called repairers are either ignorant or deliberately misinforming people for the purpose of extortion! Imagine ' reading the phone with computer and saying board is damaged', that's hilarious. Well, leave it further to dry for some hours with the back still opened, then charge for like an hour. If you try to put it on and it still bootloops, remove the back cover, then remove the power switch that connects the battery to the phone, put it back and turn on, you can use YouTube as a guide. |
