NgcoboP:If you get data update to 7 first then to 8 ![]() |
vosquare:You may need to download another playstore. Or download playstore fix. To use playstore fix you must be rooted . Alternatively, try clearing the cache and data of your playstore and then force stop. Reboot your device and open your playstore |
NgcoboP:There you go, you will enjoy miui 8 on your phone. Expecting you ![]() |
NgcoboP:Miui update is not actually an Android version update. Depending on the device you use, your Android version is likely to remain the same. And yes, miui 8 runs on kitkat, lollipop, and marshmallow. Just check miui forum for the version for your particular device, you are covered. Even redmi 2 has update for miui 8. |
40manlappy:We have two stable roms, global stable and Chinese stable roms The nomenclature of MIUI 8 stable version is V8.X.X.0.XXXXXXX, with the first two X representing the version and revision number, with the other seven representing the Android version, phone model and China/Global ROM. While there used to be many codenames for different countries, it is now united under one MI code for the global market, while CN stands for China. For users who have provided feedback using the built-in bug reporter application, you might find yourself receiving updates unavailable to others, these are called grey updates meant as a beta-testing platform for the public. Thats the source http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=325627&extra=page%3D1&mobile=2 |
acunon:How much for the Sony and also this Samsung, hope they are neat. |
NgcoboP:Its the best miui update yet! Performance is better, phone runs more smoothly. The new gallery app is more organised, you can now create folders. The notification bar has changed twice now (am on developer rom), I like it. The recent apps can be viewed in grid form optionally, and its smoother than ever. Taking screenshots it very sweet and easy, plus the ability to make it scrollable to the length of your choice makes it even more fantastic. Though I have noticed it doesn't work for Chrome and UCweb, maybe a bug. With 'quick ball', I hardly use my power button, unless I remove my battery. The list goes on. For now few themes are compatible for miui 8, but it's already getting interesting. ![]() There is also wallpaper carousel, in all its like you have bought a new device.

vosquare:Try using another network, it happened to me with glo network before updating to miui 8. If changing to another network fails, you may need to download another playstore. |

Nice, that's a stable rom, will not cause you troubles. |
vosquare:Thats good to hear, will like to know your miui 8 version. |
People, we all know that no machine is 100% efficient! Thats why paper/theoretical specs will never translate to real life/ practical performance. Of all the above mentioned chipsets, mtk is farthest from real life performance, especially in battery backup. Its high time Tecno and the likes switched to snapdragons for their flagship. |
If you need to change to global roms with Google play services, then you need to unlock the bootloader. Hope you are enjoying miui 8,its really awesome! |
vosquare:Thats because it is Chinese rom, good to have you back. Now that you have been able to resurrect a bricked phone, I see nothing stopping you from unlocking that bootloader, just be more careful this time. |
vosquare:Sorry? Yours is MTK? This should help http://en.miui.com/thread-193681-1-1.html As KuliMart has stated, please check miui forum or better register, there are solutions to virtually every problem for all xiaomi devices there. |
vosquare:Have you tried factory mode? Holding your power button and volume up at the same time? |
vosquare:http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html |
vosquare:Hmm, thats serious. |
vosquare:I wonder why you still make use of sp flash tool, all the tutorials have seen online says use mi flash tool. Anyway you can check this out http://en.miui.com/thread-253680-1-1.html |
acunon:Please confirm, it really looks interesting |
acunon:Great just learnt the usb port is for software only, would have loved if its for music and videos. |
Seriously miui 8 is very stable and is my best miui update till date, very smooth! Have tested the global rom and now on developer, so far its been sweet!
|
acunon:Thanks, what's the specs of the most powerful you have, will prefer Sony though, but can still go with anything good. |
40manlappy:The Redmi Note 4 does not come with an amoled display, the only Xiaomi phone with amoled display right now is the redmi pro. |
Viktor1983:You will never regret it, great product. |
acunon:How much and please if you can send pics will be better |
Please show list of available sound bars |
vosquare:Obviously you are on Chinese rom, follow what KuliMart said, this link might be helpful http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=article/view&aid=234&mobile=no |
vosquare:You don't need to go through that to update. The rom you have downloaded, copy it to a folder(create the folder and name it downloaded_rom) in the internal memory of your phone. Then go to the updater app(you can find it in tools) and click on the three dots at the right top, then click on 'choose update package', you will see the folder you created (downloaded_rom), just select the rom there and update will initiate. Hope you downloaded the right rom? |
Please how can I install TWRP on my RN2 without PC[/quote Don't think that is possible for now, all the methods I have seen need a pc. |
hayor2014:If you can deal with the snapdragon 808 issues plus I believe its the 16gig version you can get for that price, then its a great device if those are no limitations to you; otherwise add small cash and get redmi 3 pro |
KuliMart:Sorry, the battery issue is still there, you can check out other users' comments in miui forum. The support for this device though is great, really great! Concerning the new update for this week, battery improvement has been promised, I will monitor it for like 3 days because right now there is really an improvement. I normally get such improvement in battery performance after updating but everything changes to normal after some days. I hope this is different. |
