vosquare: I will always choose xiaomi over iPhone cos I wonder what's so special in that product. Their design is good and all that, what else? There are reasons people love iPhones, same way we love Android for some reasons. Lets just let people be. For me, as it is now, I don't just like any Android, I like miui, period! |

harmbhrosz: you wouldn't go to the extent of comparing Xiaomi to iPhone? why? I believe he is talking about security, at least Apple has been tested and found worthy, xiaomi has done something great in the Android world, now let's wait for time to judge if they are on par with Apple. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 7:52am On Oct 03, 2016 |
NgcoboP: I would not go that far! Yea no need to compare or exaggerate, afterall they tend to look up to apple. |

toluwanimi07: Xiaomi's security and Apples security are on par i love that Funny they have not even bragged about such security on android. Now Xiaomi is getting more interesting by the day. I just find my self recommending their devices to people. |

harmbhrosz: lol I'm the inquisitive type when it comes to what I want to purchase, I knew the features, history, MiUi of Xiaomi before I got my phone...
I even heard about mind blowing feature that was suppose to come with MiUi 8.... that one will be able to track his phone even when it has no sim or internet connection, guess it was just one of those bloggers hide anyway Interesting! I was not really bothered about such, was focused mainly on customizations. |

harmbhrosz: is your phone new? you ought to have registered to the Mi account when you were setting it up. kindly do that asap Yea you are right, you know many of us to like reading those plenty instructions when setting up a new phone, we just skip But xiaomi really tried on this, I didn't see the importance of a mi account, just registered because I wanted to comment on mi forum. I later discovered that the mi account goes even more than I thought. |

40manlappy: Thanks for the info. I tried to do that but the device requested for my MI account details. Is it a necessity to open an MI account? Pardon my ignorance.
Gptech, NgcoboP Yes, its very necessary, that's the key to securing you device. |

raydatluvs: In fairness to him,he gave me before but I was a little bit ignorant about the workings of the mi accout so he changed it and now am locked out. Totally my fault! Just I need solution cause he has refused to give me the new password. Don't you know how to wipe it Bro to be frank, you cannot even wipe the phone even if you want to, just try and get to the guy. Its even possible the seller stole it from someone, that's what I have always thought. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 7:45am On Oct 02, 2016 |
raydatluvs: Yes sir. I did. I didn't want to type much, not comfy typing with this phone. How do I wipe it? I see no reason why the seller won't give you the password! You want to wipe the phone! Ok try lets see how lucky you may be ; heard of someone who wiped a Xiaomi mi max but refused to due to the password. Xiaomi is really mimicking apple, security in miui 8 is really matured. |

NgcoboP: what's so special about the global stable version? As the name implies, it is supposed to be the most stable rom |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 9:24pm On Oct 01, 2016 |
40manlappy: The updater cannot change my ROM from "Stable" to "Global Stable". It's only for OTA updates, I guess.
Gptech Haven't heard of just stable rom, it's either global stable or Chinese stable, otherwise it may turn out to be a developer rom. I stand to be corrected. |

Bookiemart01: Here Its obvious you are already on Android 6 marshmallow , I don't think miui 8 for redmi note 3 is based on marshmallow, its Lollipop, you may have to wait a bit for the official miui 8 based on marshmallow to be released. |

And how do you use 2 whatsapp accounts on your phone ... Can I do it with MIUI7? Please screenshot the MiUI version of your device. |

NgcoboP: and am loving it. no to data wastage You are indeed funny, you call it data wastage? Then you shouldn't even be bothered about updating, because you most likely won't be getting an android upgrade unless you change your device. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 8:04am On Sep 30, 2016 |
ollah1: If won't work on miui7 only if you are rooted but it works by default on miui8 and it's pretty good. It works with fb as well. Miui8 is loaded with features. Second space is another sleek one.
I don't knw about the updating ish tho btw, what phone do you use? Well said, the features keep coming. Miui8 is surely the greatest miui already IMO. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 8:01am On Sep 30, 2016 |
NgcoboP: what I have is miui6.4.4 not miui7. and I will not be updating. almost a gig of data just to change ui's won't sell with me Ok, no problem, na your phone. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 11:38pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
NgcoboP: am not going to update! nope unless I can skip miui7 provided miui8 is sensible! What you have there is still miui 7. Anyway since you are using redmi 2 there might be some limitations of miui 8 for now, because of the limitation of your hardware. One notable limitation is dual apps(Yes, I currently use 2 GBWhatsApp accounts) may not work. There is high hope on a fix. Aside that nothing wrong with miui 8 for your device. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 11:19pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
NgcoboP: is 8 different from the KitKat ROM in 6? The rom remains on kitkat. You will enjoy your battery, plus the security in miui 8 is one the beat if not the best on android currently. You can upgrade from here http://en.miui.com/download-261.html. When you open the link you can click on 'flashing guide' for instructions. |
