Yea, you are very correct especially on the display size aspect. If I may ask, have you used a Xiaomi before? I know its possible, but I don't think anyone will leave MIUI for Amigo. grin

Any 1 interested in a swap of his redmi note 3 pro(snap dragon chipset ) for a 1 month old Gionee m5 plus should contact me on 08123288351 or 07053944977....thanks
Bro, I mean no harm, what you are asking for is actually a downgrade from whoso ever owns the xiaomi, that's most likely not going to happen. I will advise you sell your gionee and buy the xiaomi.

I have been getting this notification on my phone for some days now:

"Uninstall harmful app. WPS Office can damage your device"

Incidentally, the app came with the phone. It is inside the "More Apps" icon.

Any suggestions?
You can ignore the message.

Phones › Re: Differences between a Modem Vs Phone's HotSpot by Gptech(m): 11:31pm On Oct 08, 2016
Have not seen the need for a modem since Hotspot became handy. I consider owning a modem right now wasteful. About the speed difference, have not really taken note of that, but it mostly depends on network speed. I think the highest download speed on most modem is 10.2mb/s, whereas good smartphones can achieve over 30mb/s, which is like triple the speed of modems. So if your network carrier can offer speed more than the maximum of modem, then hotspot is will definitely be faster. On the other hand if the speed from your carrier is under the maximum download speed of your modem then, the modem will most likely be faster and more reliable because it is a wired connection, whereas hotspot which is wireless has its many set backs. To solve that you can make use of usb tethering (of course the quality and speed of the USB cable should affect the speed).

With miui 7, I used to get about 42hrs but with miui 8, I barely get 24 hrs coupled with heating when charging. I'm someone who doesn't like charging my phone often. But I believe marshmallow update will solve this
Are you on Stable rom? That's definitely a bug. My battery backup is the same now as it was in miui 7.

I dumped it pending when they release official mm update. My primary phone is Sony xperia xa. I only update the rn3 occasionally to see if there is any improvement in battery life and ram management
Hehehehe, don't allow that phone to gather dust ooo. Is your battery backup not ok?

Please guys, I'm kind of tired of waiting for gionee to release their m6.
Should I go for Redmi note 3 pro or Redmi note 4?
Be honest.
And don't include price, cause according to what I saw on kulimart and Ali express I can cover both.
I believe you can decide now, but if you don't mind screen size, then the xiaomi mi max is even better wink
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 12:11am On Oct 08, 2016
The review of the redmi note 4 by gsmarena is timely. The performance of both the note 3 and 4 is almost the same. Apart from being more beautiful and slightly faster, plus the option of a 64gig rom, the redmi note 3 pro seems better in all other aspects. For me, apart from aesthetics, there are other things I consider in a phone, like good battery performance, speed, and very good sound quality (especially via headphones). The battery, camera, and sound quality of the note 3 are better if not far better(battery and sound quality) than in the note 4.

That's where folks like Kulimart and elijahdre comes in. Note 4 loading. Tired of the crappy battery on the note 2
Seconded! If not for the battery, could easily hold on to the redmi note 2 for the next 2 years.

I use redmi note 3. I used fastboot method without unlocking my bootloader. I just followed all the steps given in the miui forum and it worked. Unofficial unlocking of bootloader might brick the phone.
Good, very good info.

GrandMufti:
I don't think you need to unlock bootloader. Just use fastboot method to flash it using edl. Those links you shared explains it all
Sure? It seems some persons have problems using that method, unlocking bootloader is the safest.

UWC, I think you should start the process of applying for bootloader unlock now, the earlier the better.

Bros, I am a bit confused here. All I want is to have Chinese language and apps off my phone!

NgcoboP, Kulimart
Bro, as has been said you are on Chinese stable rom. You need to change/downgrade(according to them) to global roms. To achieve that you need to unlock the bootloader on your device first. Check method 3 in this link http://en.miui.com/thread-307744-1-1.html on how to go about it.

40manlappy:
Which one is better to upgrade to from a Chinese Stable ROM? "Developer" or Global Stable ROM?
If you have enough time and data to carry out updates worth around 100mb once in 2 weeks, or sometimes every week, then developer rom is the best. Develer roms get the latest updates and fix first, they also get all the bugs first tongue

NgcoboP:
as long as you understand Chinese.... Chinese is best
The Chinese version is in English too, but some Chinese apps useless to us are included, plus some things are written in Chinese language and the normal absence of Google Apps by default. Apart from that, Chinese roms are always the best.
