driand: Hey guys... Can I update my rooted RN8/twrp via ota? It depends on the twrp recovery you use, some don't support OTA, will just make you waste your data. However, it's best you download the full rom and flash, you'll likely lose your custom recovery but no fear of bricking. |

vower: Bro I need your help,I reopened the dispute to ask the seller for screen replacement, the seller offered to give me 40usd if I cancel the dispute, but the oled screen replacement cost atleast 90usd, I've asked him to increase it to atleast 60. My question now is that while checking AliExpress for the touch I see oled screen with frame and without frame, which would I buy if I'm looking to replace the screen, with or without frame? I believe if you allow Aliexpress to step in, you'll get a better compensation. That screen you see on Aliexpress is not exactly like the follow come, no gorilla glass protection and all. |

highsansiro: I don't understand you sir about watching you tube, I haven't open the phone before and don't know how to open it. please help oooo..... I mean go to YouTube and type ' How to open up Xiaomi redmi 5 plus'. Even if you are to take it to a technician to help you open it, still watch the video or better still give it to an engineer you know is humble. Many of those so called engineers don't even bother to do researches. They open up any phone same way they open transsion devices, this has led to damages in some cases. |

shedy03: Looking at this ur analysis, I have to ask ur opinion about a device that's Chinese version but with global ROM installed. It's what am expecting right now. Of course, a Chinese version phone with global rom means seller removed the seal from the phone, unlocked bootloader, and then flashed the Global rom for you. It's not a bad thing at all, just thinking aloud regarding this particular case. |

Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 3:14pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
highsansiro: Sir I held the power and volume up button it vibrates and off and on back to mi logo again. I am I doing the right thing? Ok, to make it simple, first hold power button and volume down to take you to fastboot mode (where you have the baby cartoon), then hold the power button and volume up until you screen goes blank and you feel the vibration, if it doesn't take you to recovery mode, then I think your volume button is messing up and may even be the cause of the problem. Phone will have to be opened to fix it. You can check YouTube on how to open up Xiaomi redmi 5 plus, very easy. If it's the volume button that is messing up, then just removing the back cover of the phone will make the rebooting stop. |

vower: yea I switch between one handed mode and full screen mode when I can't tap on what I want, yea since day one, first day i powered the phone, put on sim card,it went blank, white blank screen, had to reboot and then sim was not showing for almost 30mins. So there's that. But why I was convinced its a factory defected phone is because it actually came sealed, box was sealed Sealed? Is it Mi 9T Or K20 you bought? If it's K20, is it Chinese rom or global rom installed? If it's Chinese rom, then it's obviously from factory. |

highsansiro: Oga Gptech. I have tried the power button and volume up button the phone still come back to mi logo, but it try to boost but it will stop at mi logo , help me out ooo.... is my wife phone I am using to type now, thanks. Naaa, hold the power button and volume up till the phone vibrates, if it doesn't go to recovery mode then it's either you are not holding the volume button well or it's becoming faulty. You can press the volume button harder together with the power button. |

fibonacci2526: Well said Oga jboixxx, if he had mentioned water coming in contact with the phone, the dispute would have been thrown out. If a phone is not officially IP rated, don't blame the manufacturer if you fail to need to the warning. But, make we remember say this na k20, meaning seller naim open am. Looking at the history of the device, I dey sure say the issues get nothing to do with water, that phone has been faulty from day one, what if seller knows this from the outset? |

vower: This ghost touch has even started,I didn't even know what it meant when u typed it here till I saw it for myself, dropped the phone ND the bed ND things wer just opening ND tapping by itself Bros, use another phone to record it and upload on the dispute page. I was surprised you said you can manage it. Phone has been misbehaving since day one, some of those sellers are tricky and greedy its possible phone is refurbished and screen has been changed before, afterall you didn't remove the seal yourself. Open dispute, you'll likely win it, just wait it's the best option. |
