PoliticsNigeria To Lead The Chad Basin Joint Force Against Boko Haram by Gr8amechi(op): 9:19pm On Jun 11, 2015
An extraordinary meeting of Heads and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin has approved that Nigeria retains the position of the force commander in the war against Boko Haram until the end of the mission. It also approved that the slot of the deputy force commander and chief of staff be rotated between Cameroun and Chad every twelve months.Their decision followed an earlier rejection of a rotational six-month tenureof the Multi-National Joint Task Force’s Commander, by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.Mr. Buhari suggested instead that Nigeria heads the force for the period of the war against the insurgents since it was providing the bulk of troops.Mr. Buhari had earlier argued that such a process will undermine the military’s capacity to sustain the push against the insurgents “who also have the uncanny ability to adapt and rejig their operationalstrategies”.“This command will be to the effectiveness of military strategy, since Nigeria will be providing the bulk of the troops and the main theatre of the war is on Nigerian soil,” he said.A Nigerian, Tukur Buratai, a major general, had only last week been appointed the force commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force,The summit which held at the Presidential Conference Lodge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja was attended by, Mahamadou Issoufou, President of Niger Republic; Idriss Deby, President of Chad; and Boni Yayi, President of Benin Republic. The Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, was represented by Mebe Ngo’o Edgard Alain, minister delegate at the presidency in charge of DefenceDeliberations at the summit focused on The Security Situation in the Lake Chad Basin, the Immediate Operationalization of the Multinational Joint Task Force andthe Adoption of Emergency DevelopmentPlan. They were preceded by a preparatory meeting of the Ministers of Defence, the Chiefs of Defence Staff and Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the LCBC member States and Benin. The heads of state and government of the LCBC and Benin Republic acknowledged with satisfaction the success recorded on military operations jointly conducted in the field by the coalition of the troops from Cameroun, Niger, Nigeria and Chad which have significantly broken down the military capability of Boko Haram terrorist group. However, they agreed on the need to keep up the drive marked by solidarity in action by taking decisive measures in order to totally curb Boko Haram insurgency.According to a communique released at the end of the one day summit, the Headsof State agreed on the need to support military operations with an emergency development plan in favour of vulnerablepopulations in the region in order to fightagainst the root causes of insecurity relating to poverty. At the end of their deliberations, the Heads of State also approved the Concept of Operations Strategic and Operational and related documents of the MNJTF for the fight against Boko Haram terrorist group.Approval was also given for the immediate deployment of the MNJTF HQ at N’Djamena (Chad) by implementing its human, logistic and financial requirements as well as the deployment of the national contingents to the MNJTF under the operational command of the MNJTF commander assisted by his joint headquarters by July 30, 2015.The leaders also approved $30million forthe installation and equipping of the MNJTF HQ.MNJTF will require $30 million in the nextone year to reduce terrorism in Nigeria’s north-east and neighbouring countries to its barest minimum, the executive secretary of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, Sanusi Abdullahi, had said on Wednesday, at the end of a two-day meeting of the Ministers of Defence and top military officials of the LCBC, in Abuja. The leaders approved the establishment of the executive secretariat as the headquarters of the mission and the executive secretary of the LCBC to be the head of mission. It requested the African Union’s support to the MNJTF in its operations, logistics and general mission support; by mobilizing financial support. The heads of state also resolved to seek the support of strategic partners, notablyEuropean Union, France, United Kingdomand United States of America in favour of the MNJTF.It also requested the president of the UN Security Council to make a declarative statement in support of MNJTF Operations against the Boko Haram terrorist group. The Emergency Plan for Development in the Lake Chad Basin, was also adopted at the summit.

The Negro, as already observed, exhibits the natural man in his completely wild and untamed state.
We must lay aside all thought of reverence and morality-all that we call feeling-if we would rightly comprehend him; there is nothing harmonious with humanity to be found in this type of character-Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.

I've sampled and consulted the current spirit of times and the result is quite depressing to say the least. If I magically become a President today the first thing I'm gonna do is ban democracy as currently abused in Nigeria and flog everybody in line with iron fists. That the masses are cheering and jeering who got what and who lost out in power play is most depressing.
I wish we can form our different system of government, democracy has not really helped us, the masses always get used up

PoliticsThe Real Losers Of The NASS Elections-by Gr8amechi by Gr8amechi(op): 6:23pm On Jun 10, 2015
The 8th NASS assembly has been inaugurated, leaders have emerged most of us are happy that Tinubu has been sidelined and he is a big loser but guess what Tinubu has lost nothing rather the masses are the greater losers, you may want to ask how and why these are the reasons:
1. The out come of the election will result in power struggle there will be series of court cases at the detriment of who?? the masses
2. The court case will distract not just d nass but also the presidency hence will delay the process of governance and the change we yarn for
3. After prolonged tussle the court may anull the election and suspend plenary indefinitely, who suffers??
4. Finally a new set of leaders will emerge and dissolve the former cabinet that was screened by the form house, this will also pile up tension in the polity and who will be affectedhuh
Finally Saraki may want to decamp along with his loyal senators to PDP hence making the govt of Buhari ungovernable, who still suffers is the masses, Tinubu will continue to earn his pension and other loyalty from his loyal stewards.
Though Tinubu went too far but it was wrong for Saraki to openly sell out DSP to d PDP this the masses should join hands against, let's us make him see that what he did was wrong, Tinubu sacrificed his VP ambition, why can't Saraki do so for the greater good of his party, for peace and for the masses to experience the change

ok let me explain somethings to u about what happened at the last elections. The support obj gave to apc is not a support for tinubu but obj just wanted gej out by all means therefore he had to align with tinubu just for this singular purpose. Likewise majority of apc elected political office holders, the apc they joined was just to push out gej and to win their own elections ,but politically they don't like tinubu. This is all about interest, now they have the power and now it is time to come out in their true colors. Atiku and kwankwanso have never forgiven tinubu for scuttling their presidential ambition and they know if they want to win the party ticket in 2019 ,they have to reduce tinubu influence at the federal level and even regional level to the barest minimum. And this is just the beginning. Already fashola and fayemi have switched camp and have left the tinubu group,I am expecting amaechi to switch camp too and likewise many other south west leaders. And what I am saying is ,don't let anyone deceive u that buhari is innocent of what is going on. This is a northern agenda, and their game plan is to take over apc party structure . Oba akiolu gave this warning about 4 weeks back that ppl should pray for tinubu so that all his efforts for buhari doesnt end up in vain. This is politics .
this is the point of my post, Buhari is aware but kept quiet just watch it will come back to hurt him

You are wrong. It depends on who comes out for presidency in 2019 from the north Buhari, Atiku or saraki. Tinubu is not even in control of the entire south west. The SE and SS can align forces with either Buhari, Atiku or Saraki to nullify Tinubu’s influence.
Now look at it this way, it is now clear Saraki has ambitions same with Atiku from now onwards events will build up each group will want to take the glory, Saraki will want to prove a point as a senate president, he may directly or indirectly increase the burden of governance on Buhari, if this works and Buhari fails then this will lead to power tussle come 2019 over who takes the mantle, Buhari may well think he has played the fast one but he has just been used, Saraki and those his loyal senators can pull back to PDP and then it will be dawn on Buhari, Tinubu maybe be too ambitious but Buhari would have not allowed PDP to have her way in the both house

With the emergence of both NASs leaderships against the original plan of Tinubu, most of his political opponents are happy saying they have cut him to size, but take this from me Buhari and co will regret their action or part they played they lead to the emergence of the leadership . one thing we fail to acknowledge is every single move made yesterday was a sign of the direction of 2019 take it or leave it, APC is in for a long run, finally the prophet of doom has succeded. come 2019 there will be great strive, for who succeeds Buhari, note Saraki and Atiku are ambitious men, that will stop at nothing to actualizing their aim, when all this bounce back at Buhari he will understand the dynamics of things

Jonathan was d first to support a Northerner Against Amaechi in Nigeria Governors Forum when Amaechi was still in PDP. Jonathan is a great betrayal.

Ameachi never betrayed Jonathan. he never back stab jonathan. Ameachi dis like Jonathan. he never hid his dislike. Amaechi told d whole nation how much he dis like jonathan and his wife as far back as 2years ago. Amaechi and Jonathan were open enemies.
that is one thing they fail to acknowledge, this will really take a back step as things move on

I was enjoying your write-up until I got to where you said he would be Nigeria's President at all cost come 2019. Buhari might regret his silence but there's never a way Saraki would become the President. Lemme tell you, with what happen today, Northeast would never support a Presidential Candidate from the North Central zone in the nearest future, they would rather support a Southerner because they felt betrayed by Saraki. Also, lemme assure you that the Yorubas would never support Saraki come 2019 if their son (Osinbajo) is still in the permutation. Northwest would always be for Buhari. Northeast would still support Buhari. His only stronghold is Kwara or maybe some part of Kogi. Saraki would surely regret this.

Does the Senate President have immunityhuh
Note my points all these are build up for 2019 just like Tambuwal was, note also if Saraki nd Ike makes Buhari tenure to fail it will be a sell out for their president and VP ticket that would most likely revive PDP or form a new party, note also that Saraki is ambitious and getting this means getting anything. I have always supported him, even on Twitter and Facebook because I felt the npdp need to be compensated but note this way, not selling the position of the DSP

I have been a dedicated follower of senator Bukola Saraki until today but with his actions today put great fears in my heart about how he betrayed his party today just to achieve his own personal ambitions, this means he can as well sell out the nation if need be to make him president, though I have always wanted him to be SP I never understood why Tinubu never wanted him till now, for those happy about this I feel we should think twice, how can a man betray his party completely ?? how can he sell out the position of DSP to PDP does it mean no APC senator in his camp worth it?? Buhari will regret his silence over this very issue......note this and check back 2019 Saraki will be Nigerian president at all cost
