LagosismyHome: Funny thing I was booked for induction 31st but induction didn’t start till midnight so he was born 12noon 1st September. Had the induction started on the morning of 31st, he would have been born same day and wouldn’t have to wait a whole year! Anyways, we share same birth month so we good 1 Like |

canadaishome: Firstly, Congratulations to your spouse on getting a job with sponsorship Whatever you do, try and finish your studies. Either of you can be with the kids, put them in daycare on days she is working/days you have to attend lectures depending on who the kids are with. It’s better you spend a bit on childcare till you both can be together than abandoning your studies which you already paid full tuition for. You stated your course started last year so you should be finishing sometime this year, leaving it when you are more than half way through doesn’t seem like the best thing to do if you ask me |

mizGene: Well, if you do agency, they don’t pay for it, so you need to have your own valid dbs. However, if they do pay for you, you pay back when you do a shift. Most agencies will deduct the cost from your first shift 1 Like |

haywhy0007: Northampton is ok. Lots of people moving from London to Northampton lately. Job wise, there is Northampton general hospital so you can always get a HCA Job either via agency or register with their hospital bank depending on the type of job you wanna do Note: I don’t live in Northampton but I do agency there regularly |

Khemhyte: Hi. I saw your PM. Apologies for not responding as I no longer have the password to that email. To your question, what course did you study? I think your best bet would be to explore the Msc nursing with registration. It’s a 2 years masters degree program that comes with licensing to practice in the UK. A lot of unis only offer it to those with first degree in medical/biomedical studies. I understand some other unis admit people regardless of what you studied in your undergraduate. Your assignment will be to search and find out which universities offer it to those without a degree in medical sciences assuming your first degree is not in either medical Or biomedical. Cost wise, it will depend on the tuition of the university you choose as each university’s tuition differs from another but you should be looking at nothing less than 9k a year, bear in mind it’s a two years course so we are talking about 18k. You then have to also factor in costs of visa, flights, proof of funds (maintenance fee) and all, tuberculosis test. These other details you can find on the student thread really. I hope this helps and gives you idea of what to do. Others will hopefully contribute 3 Likes |

justwise: True.. it’s good to ask and get answers in the right context. However, my employer didn’t wait for me to finish before starting. I started the job in my last semester. I can’t remember exactly how it got to int’l office which was why I told them I got a job offering me sponsorship, they said I couldn’t be on tier 2 visa and continue my studies full time unless my employer was happy for me to do that, in which case, they’d need a written evidence from them and this was what led to that letter 5 Likes 3 Shares |

LagosismyHome: This was in 2016, 5+ years ago as I have gotten ILR now sef. My uni told me they would be informing home office they were no longer my sponsor which I told them to go ahead with. I have attached the letter my employer sent my school then 3 Likes 2 Shares

LagosismyHome: I did too. Only that my uni then required me to get a letter from my employer stating they are happy for me to remain a full time student on a tier 2 visa and my employer willingly did that. In fact, the HR asked me to write what I wanted to be sent to my school, I drafted the mail and sent, they just sent forwarded it exactly how I drafted it, only that they used a letter headed paper. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hephzi04: Some landlords like to play smart. Shortly after I moved into my current house, I noticed my shower tray was cracked, I reported to the letting agent and they got back to me to say it was my responsibility to change it. Cost was £400 plus, I told them I couldn’t afford that. They wrote me back to say landlord wants to help me and would share the cost with me. He would be kind enough to have me pay monthly over a period of 12months. I came here and asked whose responsibility it was, I got different opinions on it but some mentioned googling private landlord something. I sha checked and it clearly stated changing baths, sinks and plumbing was landlord’s responsibility . I wrote them back to say advise on government website says it’s landlord’s responsibility, they said my tenancy agreement which I signed says otherwise. I emailed the private landlord and tenant body for my borough and reported it, they asked for my permission to take it up which I gladly gave. Well, my shower tray was changed in less than 2 weeks without anyone asking me to pay a dime whether as one off or monthly. 26 Likes 4 Shares |

justwise: A friend of mine was recently given a 3 bedroom house, brand new build. Beds and wardrobes provided, white goods included, living room rugged. Hers is to rug the remaining rooms. No, she isn’t paying a dime but she is complaining bitterly that the house is outskirts (20 minutes drive from towns centre), why didn’t they rug the entire house?, where do they want her to get the money to complete the rest of the rooms. It’s far from kids school cos their school is in town. I just weak listening to her moan about why government isn’t doing this and that for her. Like 1/3 of my salary goes to taxes and NI funding your likes and you are complaining 1 Like |
