Lol these people can act like they care about the baby more than you.

I have a 4 months old and a 2 year old. I can’t be running round the shop looking for baby toiletries, toddler toiletries then adult one. Baby and toddler use same toiletries, case closed! I use Aveeno for them both by the way.

Please I need help with a kids cream (body cream). He has passed the baby stage. We have stopped the baby stuffs. We have been using sanex kid soap, but We never see cream since. I have checked Morrison and asda. Also asked the people who worked there but they keep directing to the baby section and na baby lotion de there (asda).

NB: If the complexion is necessary, The baby is fair and becoming lighter in complexion.

My daughter is 2 and I am still using baby soap and cream for her and when I run out, I bath her with whatever brand of adult soap we have at home. Her complexion has remained same since birth.

We use aveeno baby toiletries in case

Hello guys landed Southampton less than 2 weeks ago on a dependant visa,(wife in healthcare). Already applying for jobs and got a two interviews already at NHS but the salary is a little above 18k and its 8-4pm..Issue is we have a 2yr old girl. My aunt is suggesting I start with a night picker and packer hustle so I have time for my daughter during the day.

NB
Gone to find out cost of daycare 7am -6pm £250

Big question is should I keep applying for daytime office job and keep my daughter in daycare or start off with picker and packer jobs till we are fully settled.
My wife work timetable has no nights till March + I'm a certified data analyst with few months experience back in 9ja..

Looking forward to your advise .. thanks alot[/[quote author=obalala post=108954487]Hello guys landed Southampton less than 2 weeks ago on a dependant visa,(wife in healthcare). Let me use our situation to give you idea

I work in healthcare too so have no fixed shift pattern, could do 2 days day shift here, nights another couple of days and off. I encouraged hubby to get a support worker job pending when he is able to sort out his profession registration. He told his employer his needs his shift to be worked around his childcare needs, so what happens is that since I get my rota in like 1-2 months in advance, I print it out and he gives it to them at work and they make his rota using mine. That way, we never do same shifts on same day, one of us is always off to be with our daughter.

Another thing is for you guys to try and make friends with people who have young kids so that you can baby sit for each other or at least find out how they deal with their child care needs. £250 per day on childcare for 18k/year job is just too much, doesn’t make any sense if you ask me.

We also have have a grandma that a sister in church introduced to us who also helps. So on days that I wanna go do extra hustle (agency ), I would normally drop my baby with her on my way to work ( I do only nights for agency), my hubby will pick her up on his way home from a day shift, that way she spends maximum 3-4 hours with her for the day. Grandma charges just £10/day and she is so good with my daughter that if my daughter doesn’t see her for like 2-3 weeks, she literally somersaults in excitement the next time she sees her. She bought her the very first birthday present for her 1year birthday. She would give her from snacks in her house on days that my daughter would refuse any of the food I packed her and when I come in to pick her up, she would show me and say I gave her this and she ate it very well, may be you can buy that for her. My girl is a very picky eater!

Great things happen when a couple work together. .... so many cultural things in Nigeria needs to be unlearnt .... welldone and more power to you and your household

A couple friend just moved, their latest fight, the wife said a wife is not supposed to bring one naira/pound into the household.... and the man feels he should not do a single house chores...I don't even know where to begin with such mindset

These ones still have a lot of learning and unlearning to do in this UK otherwise they will be adding to the numbers soon

I also found out about this after I had submitted and booked my biometrics.

100% agree. It happened to a former colleague of mine, 2 in fact, both Nigerians. I can't say they lived a lavish lifestyle but did not have enough to go back or remain. They became pitiable sight to behold. One I believe went on a student visa and I don't know what became of the other.

Well I paid extra 500£ for priority (5days decision), I ended up waiting 20working days so I doubt you would get a decision in 1 working day with super priority especially this Coco season

I got my ILR.
10 year route
1 year - Student visa
5 years + tier 2
4 years Spousal/partner
Hopefully I will get my passport in January. Then I can start applying for jobs abroad.
I did not apply for my ILR on tier 2 because I was naive. I was at risk of redundancy with barely 2 months to my ILR and the company wouldn't give me a letter without stating that I was at risk. I didn't feel comfortable applying with that on the letter so I canceled my appointment and when I failed to get another sponsor and not enough time to find a decent job in Nigeria, I applied for a spousal visa which reset my timeline.
In hindsight, I should have applied and I would have been granted it, saving me thousands of pounds in application fees and NHS surcharge. More painful is the fact that I had considered moving back home in the earlier years but got to the point where going back without at least ILR was not logical. Hopefully I find a good role back home or somewhere near grin, Amen.

Congratulations
ILR raining!!!!

Very scary stuff at being made redundant 2months to ILR. I fit get heart attack ooo

Hello Everyone

Please i was asked to be in the UK by 24th of Jan by my trust, my registry is scheduled for Jan 20th which is when i will be given the marriage certificate

1) When applying for visa can i claim been married despite not having the certificate yet at the time of the visa application?

2) If i claim been single when applying for visa, whenever my spouse wants to join me over there after having the marriage certificate, would it be an issue whenever he applies for dependent/spouse visa using my Certificate of sponsorship?

Please I look forward to your responses. Thank you

It won’t affect it. I came to UK single, got married, brought my husband as my dependant whilst still using my fathers name. So long as you have proof of marriage, you are good.

Congratulations
So did u write a letter or did u get a letter from your employer

I didn’t do any in the end. I just wrote in the box for extra information saying I am adding my expired passport to show stamps of the countries I have travelled to and transited through with dates. I scanned all visas, entry and departure stamps in my passport and uploaded

I did get an employment certificate from my employer stating I am still employed and my salary, nothing about my absences

Hi everyone.
I am trying to fill ILR application form, part of the documents requested is a letter from your employer to cover periods of absence from UK even if your absence was your annual leave. I am no more with the employer I was with at the time i travelled out of the country and as such, can’t get this letter from the employer. What else can I use?

I have ticked the OTHERS option with the intention of writing a letter to explain my absence, is that enough?

Please Justwise, Lagosismyhome, lexusgs430 any ideas on the above? Or is there already a thread dedicated to ILR application through tier2 route?

Thank you guys to all those that responded to my question in quote.

ILR granted!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s normal for exclusively breast fed infants. Nothing to worry about, just carry on breast feeding on demand or every 2-3hours.

This shouldn't be a big deal, explain that in a letter then most importantly attach your outward and inward boarding pass or ticket/ stamp in your passport etc.

During my application i had to do that even as i did not spend more than 100days in total.

I printed out my exit and entry stamps and attach them in my application package while i made reference to it in my letter

Thank you . Will do that

My ILR days is over 10 years ago so I really don't know.... this your absence was it short or long time. If it short time and you were on holiday, I would say a letter from you should be OK but I have to check google

It was short. Less than 180 days in 5 yrs. I honestly didn’t think one would be asked for proof that periods of absence was authorised by employer. However, my friend’s application was delayed because they requested she sends a letter from employer covering a period of absence of about 2 weeks
