The calendar may calculate and arrive at a particular date but the command of God Almighty is to do a spot check at the end of the month for the actual appearance of the moon. If God so wishes, he can offset the month by one day or extend it by one day, hence the 29th or 30th. No calendar can dictate to God how He disposes of His own affairs. Therefore this can only be an issue for godless and frustrated people.

Saudi Arabia astronomers worked well into the night of 29th of Ramadan and only announced when they were sure that the new crescent was not sighted. If it did, then 9th of April, that is, today would have been Eid Fitr irrespective of whether it is marked 10th on a calendar or not.

For a lunar based counting, the moon could come out on the 29th which is a regular occurrence after which 30th becomes sacrosanct whether moon shows or not. This is not subject to any marking on a calendar somewhere, as it has to be astromomically observed and studied.
