He is still the Governor until May 29 2019. No law forbids him from issuing out contracts. Moreso, do not forget that these contracts were not just awarded overnight, they went through a process for which the Oyo State House of Assembly was involved |
Muttee:Who told you she is wife? Or that he has a wife? |
For the uninformed, the govt has a Forex trading window called I&E window where the lawyer and the son in law could have gone to sell their FOREX but they wanted the black market where the money can easily disappear into the financial system....That is why its called money laundering. The Investors and Exporters (I&E) forex window allows investors and exporters to purchase and sell foreign exchange at the prevailing market rate Google FMDQ and you will read all about it there. This window has made FX market stable in the last 2 years and made official market and black market to merge. This has practically taken business away from the Mallams on the streets but nobody is giving govt praise for that |
Just to educate all those shouting upandan, (1) the law says Banks must report any amount above $10,000. Thats pretty simple. It affects so many people so Atiku's boys are no exception (2) Anywhere in the world, Nigeria inclusive, it is your responsibility as the owner of the money to explain its source which is also simple (it could be inheritance; it could be export proceeds; it could foreign direct investment; it could be professional fees; it could be proceeds of crime. Just show proof, thats all) (3) If you read the information carefully, it was said at some point that they couldnt change some of the money due to scarcity of naira. For those who do not know, we have regulatory bodies like CBN etc to ensure that there is liquidity in the system but when 1 or 2 transactions kidnap money in circulation, it upsets the system momentarily and it could affect you adversely for that short period if you were transacting business in that area that day. Its important that we brush up our knowledge with basic things before jumping online |
allisso:A bit of information shall help you. Number 1: TraderMoni is an e-payment platform created by a couple of young Nigerians like you. They created it for Bank of Industry and they are rich boys now whilst some are talking crap here on Nairaland. Number 2: Bank of Industry owns the Tradermoni scheme and those who genuinely need it are receiving as we speak. Number 3: Pastor Osinbajo was asked by Bank of Industry to be the Ambassador and give it credibility as market women were initially cautious of collecting it as they were not so sure of the scheme. Number 4: TraderMoni is in the 2018 budget approved by both Senate and House of Representative in August 2018, hence the disbursement period. Disbursment started Sept last year but it was not publicised until Osinbajo became the Ambassador for it. Number 5: Part of Tradermoni is from the $322million dollars Abacha stole and the Swiss govt returned it to Nigeria with strict conditions. That it must be used for social intervention such as Tradermoni; School feeding and payment to extremely poor elders and they are monitoring the schemes, so, you should be extremely happy that for the 1st time in the history of Nigeria, recovered stolen money was given to millions of the poor rather that bn shared by a few politicians; their children and their slay queens |
Anyday Anytime, V.P Osinbajo is a winner. For those who know VGC very well, it was not a suprise!!! VGC was a madhouse during GEJ's time.......sirens daily; oppression with Rolls Royce they bought with stolen money. The current administration cut off their wings but Osinbajo took time and explained their policies and actions one by one and they all made sense and he was also maintaining bridges he had built becos he knew he was coming back to that estate. He is a man to be saluted. When Atiku comes in, we can all carry our bulldozers and enter CBN again and chop the money na! |
After having looked at the pictures, its only educated illiterates on Nairaland and other social media handles that will believe this crap. There is nowhere and i quote No Where that a Pilot will be outside whilst his passengers are seated. A pilot is always in his cockpit before passengers embark and even on landing doesnt leave his cockpit before his passengers. Any activity outside flying is carried out by ground staff |
CsRockefeller:Yes!! He did badly in FRSC. He could not deliver a Driver's license project even though it was a monopoly. 2ndly, he failed in producing License plates on time until Lagos State govt came to his rescue. If you do not know, LASG set up a License plate producing factory and were printing license plates within 24 hours. Nigerians should try and use facts to sell prospective leaders and not sentiments. That us why we are here today.....a brutalized nation |
A lot of people need their brains to be reset; reformatted or replaced. Omokore's investigation and cases have been on for 3 years now and there shall be more cases against other political office holders irrespective of the party they belong to. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM BEING A SENATOR. This guy and Kola Aluko were involved in deals all over the oil producing states courtesy of Madam Diezani and many more shall follow. Just pray your name or your father's name is not mentioned or else you shall be eating beans in EFCC custody |
zoba88:Absolutely nothing wrong about It, most appropriate posture to adopt at that point in time for a couple of reasons: (1) If he stood up, he would be blocking the view of others. (2) if he stood up, people can read his lips (3) if he stood up, both their voice levels will be high in order to hear each other (4) if he stood up, he becomes a distraction to people seeking to concentrate on happenings in front |
Dear fellow Nigerians, let us process things reasonably and intelligently before we response. (1) By electoral law, we run a SECRET BALLOT system therefore you are not allowed to record and reveal your voting choice to the public. (2) If you want OPEN BALLOT, then prevail on your Senator and House of Rep member to revise the electoral law but instead of doing that, you are excited about defections. The only excitement any right thinking Nigerian should have about defections is that a vacuum has been created for useful people like you and I to fill but alas, we are choosing side as if it's football match. It's our future you know. (3) Option A4 Open BALLOT system was used during MKO Abiola"s election and that made rigging minimal as you openly line up behind the poster of your preferred candidate and the numbers were counted in the full glare of everyone and that's why results were know as early as possible before IBB stopped the release. Please fight the right fight and don't expend your energy unnecessarily |
flyca:How much will it have been if you 1st changed Naira to Dollar and then Dollar to Yuan? |
rhames:That's why there's a separate window for raw materials |
salbis:You just identified a confused and gullible idiot! YOU! |
AroOkigbo:Dollar will never fall if (1) you don't produce and patronize your local products (2) you keep sending your children abroad for schooling (3) you keep jumping on the next available plane to travel to countries not better than yours |
couragemurphy:When would have been the right time in your opinion? |
FriendNG:AUTHORISED DEALERS! |
Xander85:If most Igbos are in the marketplace or in professional privates firms and just a few in the judiciary, are you going to appoint just any Igbo just to fill up Igbo spaces? Same thing with the Army, how many Igbos are there? So why complain that you don't have Igbo general's when una no join army |
This is no big deal, it is a requirement for today's generation where you cant tell if you are dating a boy or a girl unless you see original birth certificate. So do you not know that some people don't know that Bobrisky is not girl? Apart from Bobrisky, we have boy who went abroad to school but returned to Nigeria as girls? Even if you do not believe in RCCG, pls apply this letter to your decision making. Enough said |
sprints1:No matter how creative you are, if you can't transform that into something valuable, you are lazy. Period! !! Something valuable doesn't necessarily mean money as majority of you feel money is the measure of success. The guy who began Google maps might not be loaded with money but he revolutionized navigation world wide but he relied on geography graduates inputs but anyway you won't understand |
Teetopz:With respect to history bn removed from schools, the govt only gave people like you a rare and fantastic opportunity to fill that gap and becoming iconic as a result of sustaining it except you didn't believe in the value/worth of history itself in the 1st place |
Teetopz:You would have saved yourself the embarrassment if your contribution was positive rather than complaining. Would others not have learnt from you if you had said "Inspite of the difficulties encountered as am MSC holder, I have utilised my education to do 1;2;3" but you chose to be sensational and went the negative and govt bashing route. If I was a prospective employer or sponsor, you wouldn't have been considered becos you didn't project positivity. Learn lessons and stop been reactionary bro |
Teetopz:All 3 of you that you mentioned are actually LAZY!!! Intellectually laze for that matter. (1) Msc History and you cannot design an electronic encyclopedia on history of Nigeria and each major or even minor tribe and take it to an NGO; Tony Elumelu foundation or such like to sponsor the project or even develop or review the curriculum for history and sell to private schools. It not only benefits the populace; it enhances you as a person and you are only deploying the skills you already possess. (2) Msc International relations: approach a radio or tv station or create your own YouTube channel; instagram channel and analyse international relations and happenings in West Africa for starters. Educate us on Geo politics. Research companies will be hunting for you like no mans business. (3) Msc Geography. Hmmmm ......how do you think Google maps work? GIS. Geographers and Town planners are needed for improvements to location identification. Go and get your PVC and personally vote yourselves out of poverty and entitlement mentality |
Rubbish and fake article. He is 56 meaning he was born in 1962 & came to work in Nigeria in the late 70's meaning he worked in Elf as a teenager and left 5years later at at age 23 and he was sole rep. Stupid article for stupid nairalanders |
bamoski:When you become President of wherever and whatever and your childhood friend; secondary school classmate; fellow pastor is giving his daughter away in marriage and you are invited in your personal capacity to a private wedding, please tell them you are too important to attend as Nigerians will abuse you. Let me see who you will carry your head to when your 8 years tenure ends, your bosom friends or Nigerians who have shifted attention to the next office holder? |
Troublemaker007:Am not hating o but what business does a Vice President have with a TROUBLEMAKER007 if not trying to persuade him to use him for thuggery in 2019 campaign to cause troube or scatter the elections when they lose and feed more misery to Nigerians. Òdè òshì!! |
BiafranBushBoy:Let me help answer one of your questions. About 9 months ago, CBN allowed for a new FX window to be open by FMDQ. This window is now the greatest supplier of FX & not even CBN and for your info over USD$125.08million was traded at the I&E – Investors’ & Exporters’ FX Window today 30th Jan2018 and that happens Monday to Friday and thats one of the reasons why FX rate has been stable for a whole year. Another reason why it has been stable is because of FX Futures. Google both Investors’ & Exporters’ FX Window & FX Futures for more info |
ettybaba:A lot of people misunderstand the life of a true Pastor in relation to this so called wealth. Let me give you a bit of insight into people's perception of this wealth which is wrongly interpreted. (1) Bank Account: A true and honest Pastor does not have Savings....their accounts are pipes....money goes out as quickly as it comes in. They are constantly giving out the money they receive to a million and one causes as they receive from millions of well wishers. (2) What exactly are they saving up money for? Think about it! Write down ALL the things you need money for, such things are given to the Pastors free of charge...Houses; Cars; Phones; Food; Clothing; Travel Tickets; accommodation abroad; school fees for their children; medical; entertainment; water; light' TV; DSTV; hair cut; shoes; ties; shirts etc. Adeboye or Oyedepo have probably not entered a shop to purchase an item in decades as all these things are laid at their feet. Having said that, some other Pastors love shopping for their own preferences. (3) The Private jets are owned by companies who run them and pay tax to govt. They lease ut the planes to CEO of corporations so as to earn money to maintain them and release it to the use of the Pastors when needed for travel, just as simple as you give out your car for UBER when you are seated at work from 8 - 5pm but the car becomes yours again when going home. (4) They do not store billions of naira in their account to show off their bank statements....those monies are used to support uncountable number of needs daily. The General Overseer of RCCG receives cars daily, do u think he opens a car shop to sell them to make more money? NO!!! they are also given out free to PAstors of other ministries especially those who work in rural areas and terrains. Way back 25years ago, he gave Pastor Joe Olaiya a Nissan Pajero cos it was better suited for the terrain the man ws operating in in Sokoto. I know this cos my church gifted G.O that Nissan Pajero |
Lets make this very simple for Nairalanders. (1) The Fibre Optic concession bn referred to is to allow Service Providers to run fibre cable along the routes where you have High Tension wire all over Nigeria just like Sub Urban was given right of way to run fibre cables along railway lines wherever they existed in Nigeria. Its simply a rental agreement. (2) Nigeria's map was divided into 2 vertically from top to bottom. Phase 3 took the more juicy side, the left side and the right side was offered on a platter of Gold to Dangote as he had no investment in telecoms then (3) Obasanjo gave it to Dangote & Cornelius Adebayo, former Gov of Kwara state and then Minister of Communictaion gave it to his son in law who set up Phase 3. (4) Been that Dangote knew nothing about Telecoms. he entered into agreement with Phase 3 to manage the right hand side of Nigeria on his behalf. (5) We do not know if both Phase 3 and Alheari had operationals challenges, but it was meant to be a MEGA money spinner for them. (6) Fashola, as Minister of Power is only asking for unpaid fees that should have been paid up by the 2 firms. Its as simple as that |
Truth234:I suspect this was copied and pasted from a year ago because (1) There is no more volatility as Banks can buy "Futures" i.e. make commitment buy their FX needs in advance without price fluctuation affecting them. (2) Round tripping is now a waste of time and resources because Official FX rates and Black market rate are almost the same.....just a 1 or 2 point margin and customers find it more convinient to buy from Black market than go through the stress of Bank documentation. infact banks were begging customers to buy FX in the last quarter of 2017 |
Desyner:I concur with you.A lot of our people need to be made aware of a number of things. (1) In Nigeria, religious organisations are not taxed but their profit making ventures like schools; banks; printing press etc are subject to tax (2) Tithes and Offerings cant buy Jet planes. They also need to be aware that these Jet planes are managed by private aviation and rented out to companies and individuals who need them whenever the church is not using them. They do this to enable the Jets pay their own bills. Tithes and Offerings cannot pay for Jet maintenance O!!! (3) Church Leaders have no need for salaries or even own a bank account because ALL THEIR NEEDS ARE MET BY BENEVOLENT GIVERS You are not likely to find Adeboye or Oyedepo in a Shoe Shop or any other shop for that matter looking for something to buy as they have it all freely given to them. Neither do they need to own a house anywhere in the world because there all hundreds of people willing to host them. (4) If the church shows you their financial statement, you will be shocked to see how much goes into giving of welfare to members and what it takes to run the operations of the church just like any other business will need to pay for water; electricity; diesel; maintenance; repairs; bank charges; honorarium etc |
FOLYKAZE:In the U.K, churches are not taxed because they are categorized as Charity organizations and they are therefore regulated by government thru the Charity commission UK. Churches that pay tax in U.K are those who have opted to be registered as Limited Liability companies and therefore subject to their board of directors. In Nigeria, religious organisations are not taxed but their profit making ventures like schools; banks; printing press etc are subject to tax |
