IGP to Policeman
IGP: Sergeant I learnt that you requested for bribe from that motorist, is that true.
Sergeant: Oga I swear by my forefathers, I didnt demand for any bribe
IGP: Then what did you tell him
Sergeant: Oga I only told him to 'do the needful' which in my mindset means he should be a good husband to his wife.
IGP: I am going to give you a needful punishment. Which is washing 2 bullet proof cars every morning for 2 months. Now dismiss!!!
Sergeant: Yes Sir! Thats our new slogan at checking points, no more asking for particolas or using the word bribe.

@OP I can understand your feelings, I had a similar experience and it has not been easy. Mine was a situation whereby before we got married I gave my apartment and only car to my wife (then still girlfriend) to live and cruise around while I worked at site and came home periodically.
I made sure she was very confortable with my income as she was earning very little till we got married and we continued to live well as a family and me trying to be the best husband.
Then things started changing when she got a job that paid her well and provided opportunity for things like loans and estacode allowances while my profile has remained almost the same in my work place (yearly small percentage increment)

To my chagrin I got to find out she was paying for a house in an estate with her maiden name and to rub salt into injury she bought a new car and registered it in her maiden name also without informing me. It got so bad that she no longer shows me any respect and I kept feeling miserable in my situation making every effort to work harder and achieve morethan her and in the process even lost more money due to failed investment.
Got sick and went to the hospital and was informed that my BP was getting high and when my family heard it they were apprehensive and I had to open up to them what I was facing.
I had to abandon my home for her for some period and went to a different location to live with a very nice friend of mine to try and get my BP down and think of way forward.
Her mother has realy being a bad influence on her as she was the one who encouraged her to take the actions she took. Following intervention and for the sake of our children I returned home even without her acknowledging that what she did was wrong.
I have tried to swallow the humilation which is what you are also going through now.

I wish I could boast of your achievements listed, but I have little to show even though I have worked so hard and the story around is that I am envious of my wife achievement and her money (but thats not true). Seems like no one wants to know how I feel inside. I can guess the area that your wife comes from as this is rampant among women from that area.
I grew up in the North where you learn to take issues of money and wealth with gentility but she grew up in their area where a lot of emphasis is placed on money and wealth.

Please dont allow yourself to get sick cause of worrying about her action as that may be deadly, remove your mind from her actions and focus it on your children, business and faith, dont worry about the Priests action as he may have acted innocently or even if it is intentional.
You can take a break from the house and go visit a different location for a short vacation to allow for things to cool down.
I hope she comes back to her senses which is also my wish in my own family and keep praying for God to intervene in your situation. Good luck.

seanet02: Good news.
Now those dunderheads brainwashed by the western countries will see reason when we said that was only being victimized because of oil.
Very Good news.
Hope the rebels cut off the neck of that traitor
The news made my day. A day of reckoning for betraying his country to Western invaders. Perhaps they may give him the same treatment Gaddafi and US ambassador Chris Stevens had.
I used to hate Gaddafi because I was too attached then to news from CNN, BBC, FOX until during the NATO invasion when I discovered alternative media and got to know the truth about the 'democratic' West who would not even allow the UNSC to become democratic but maintain their VETO powers which they use at will to control the lives of billions of people in many countries.

Coldfeet: Christianity is all about loving ones neighbour na! Why all this bruhaha?
Why not move to Benisheik, Bama or Maiduguri and type your comments from there. if you love your neighbour without them loving you back is that not trouble for you?
The Gov should have carried out wider consultation before implementing the policy so that the intention will be very clear to everyone. With the level of violence across the world in the name of Islam, Christian parents will not be comfortable with hijab wearing and heavily bearded students in Christian owned schools.
Muslims as good religious people need to redefine their way of life and make people feel comfortable in their midst..

This guy said he wanted PDP sorry I mean Political Science and he was offered APC sorry I mean Philosophy and he is asking what he can with it.
The answer is for him to go for New PDP sorry I mean new Philosophy/Political Science double honours.

Confusion: Na so craze dey start. huh huh

Why would ASUU not go on strike to protest the state of Nigerian schools when students are given admission into courses they know nothing about because of federal character or quota system. He applied for Pol Science and that is what he should be given not forcing him into Philosophy.

I had a similar experience whereby I applied for Engineering and ended up studying environmental science because I had written several JAMB I couldnt afford to go back home and had to grudgingly do the course. After graduation from the University I realized that my passion still lied with Engineering and today I had to enroll at a Polytechnic Part time Engineering Programme and started from Pre-HND (equivalent to ND II) to satisfy my passion and I love it, I am currently gainfully employed but I still have to pursue my dream.

You may continue with that course instead of going back home to stay idle and then do a change of course later while applying for another JAMB and if any of the two works out then go for it and probably sacrifice one academic year if you use another JAMB or if you are lucky your department may allow you go to your desired course where you may have to retake some year one courses. Good Luck!

Other than them, the only other persons who are in New York for the UN General Assembly with the President’s knowledge and approval are relevant ministers and few essential aides.

This goes to show that we are not actually tribalistic as a people. It is just what our bad leaders have instilled tribalism and religious bigotry into our hearts for them to get our support for their political aspirations.

Politics › Re: Suntai Dissolves Cabinet Amidst Controversies by Guyman02: 4:15pm On Aug 28, 2013
What exactly is legally treasonable about what just happened? Learn to isolate 'how you feel' from facts before you when you want to reach conclusions. The consititution we are operating empowers him to resume his office by just writing a letter to the HOA when he returns. This letter is only a notification that he has resumed, not a permission.

Besides, the guy may be physically weak but mentally and psychologically strong. Neither you nor I are doctors or psychologists to de-certify him. Even if doctors or psychologists must do this, there are legal ways to go about it.

Again, he was elected by Tarabans to be their governor. When they are tired of him, the law demand that they should prevail on their HOA members to impeach him. He was away for 8 months and the HOA could not even raise the motion.

Politically speaking, sacking his cabinet is a very strong political statement, indicating who is the Governor. He needs to press the reset button and reassemble his team.

Finally, Nigerian law does not seem to be against the physically challenged running for an office. It is actually against mentally challenged taking charge of Taraban affairs. For now, the doctors has not confirmed Suntai to be mentally challenged.
You sabi book. As long as he is not mentally incapacitated nothing unusual here; the constitution does not stop physically challenged from holding any office in Nigeria.

bennyraz: she was enjoying the whole sex and maybe pastor was quick to remind her "I'm a married man o" then she felt been used. But seriously, most pentecostal churches today have been turned to fashion parade ground for chicks/ladies who are trying to out do each other and meeeeen! the dressing is so bad, you see cleavages, micro-miniskirts, free laps, all sorts of brazilian wigs, eye shadow, lipstick.. in fact if dem are bend down in the church! you see everything! and when it comes to praise, they dance seductively.. Tell me, how pastor no go notice that kind of woman!! A man is first a man before he is a Man of God.. this women don't allow us concentrate in service, we keep looking left and right, left and right, turning our necks to the back to look at the fine sexy chick behind us and we be like! the temptation in the house of God is even higher than temptation in the outside world grin
You need to pass by the church at Thisday Dome to find young men and ladies going to the church trying to outdo each other in terms of cars and dressing. Everyone there tries to speak like American born citizens.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo Of COZA In Sex Scandal by Guyman02: 12:58pm On Aug 23, 2013
There are some words I used to hear in my growing up days as a Catholic about olden days Pentecostal churches like Assemblies of God, Deeper Life, Christian fellowship and some others from my friends then who spent time memorising bible verses while we Catholics crammed our Catechism Books. Those words I cannot remember the last time I have heard them from any TV or Radio preacher such as:
SIN is a reproach unto God, For all have Sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
You need salvation to make heaven.
Heaven is real and Hell is real for all Sinners
My brother my sister where will you spend eternity?
Oh Sinner Man where will you run to ?

It is obvious that the words highlighted have been lost in the new generation churches today. All you hear are:
Wealth
Wealth
Wealth

Poverty is not our portion.
Our God is not a poor God.
Even the Lord wore designers clothing and that was why the bible said 'the soldiers shared his clothing among themselves' and his under garment was seamless in linen cloth. According to them, If the garment was not designers the soldiers wouldn't share it among among themselves.

The congregation these days are encapsulated by these celebrities with flowing words calling themselves MOG and cant resist falling into temptation at little prompting these businessmen especially ladies. Some of whom go as far as thinking that it is a Sin to refuse the advances of a MOG.
There is a lesson to be learnt here, that is the two of them did the wrong thing and we should not be the ones to judge them; but they should ask for forgiveness from their creator and those the have hurt by these revelations and exposures.

Culture › Re: Traditional Worshippers Day Declared In Osun State by Guyman02: 1:09pm On Aug 20, 2013
The best way to fight corruption in Nigeria is to introduce Swearing with traditional oath with ram horns, tortoise shell and red ribbon tied around cow horn by Nigerian leaders and not by Bible or Koran which is not feared by our people because of the belief that God or Allah is all merciful and forgiving but amadioha or obatala or shongo are merciless when you violate the oath you took. common sense!

In the North the Hausas normally say 'any town that you enter in Nigeria and you are told that there is no Igboman residing there, just quickly pack your things and vamoose because that town is not a good one and portends danger'
Igbos are truly Nigerian, they are the only tribe in Nigeria that you will give a position and they will ignore their own people and go for merit irrespective of your tribe or religion. Most other Nigerians are tribalists or religious bigots.

Who elected the Queen as Head of State?
They preach democracy and destroy countries to impose democracy. Why shouldn't every British child aspire to become Head of State if they are truly a democratic nation, why should it be by Birth?
