Programming › Re: Association Of Programmers In Nigeria by hackney(m): 4:50pm On Mar 09, 2009
As regards to this, i believe in a forum where programmers can exchange ideas and even take up self-imposed projects to develop useful programs that are applicable in any of our industries  and can then be advertised and marketed in nigeria.
This coupled with the forum  will indicate that the forum is productive with tangible potentials as against mere high-sounding talk like any other threads or forums. Then you will see more programmers getting interested.
And before you know it-RECOGNITION  and then things like standards and policies will follow.
A saying goes that a good market sells itself and as such i will like to invite all programmers to this thread with suggestions on how to effectively get this off the ground.i suggest an FTP site as a means of storing proposals and maybe this thread for related discussions.
I will like to say that we all can  (those of us domiciled both foreign and domestic)

Politics › Re: CAN Wants Nigerians To Carry Arms (Religious Crisis) by hackney(m): 2:39pm On Feb 25, 2009
That will initiate one step towards the actualisation of BIAFRA (just one of the many big problems that will come up)
Then talk of the Niger\Delta cowboys - God will help us!!!
Do we want that? its gonna be chaos and i hope that the stupid govt will see that when the time comes .
The Govt is so dumb they want to stop Okada but do not stop to think:what will all those millions of able bodied men do afterwards?
So now we have: lay abouts plus impending right to arms? HIAEHHH!!!!!
Anything can happen in that dump ;before you know it the same familiar-faced recycled fat cats will start clamouring to be in charge of the contract supplies.

Business › Re: What Was Your Worst Experience With Our Nigerian Banks? by hackney(m): 2:37pm On Feb 22, 2009
Bank Clerks in owerri will advise you to fill in your western union money withdraw forms and tell you   ohh!! we could not process yours today, come back tomorrow.
then guess what has  happened to the money by the next day?
They themselves steal the money.
We are talking First bank here, not just any small-time bank.
Coupled with their hidden stealth charges; no wonder they can afford to give N10m car loans (UBA).
Previously thought these banks were pulling their weights on the global banking scene but have just learnt the truth on this thread;always knew that they
weren't that hard working or ingenious (except in wayo).
Thanks jare for enlightening us on their greedy wiles.

Politics › Re: Can A Nigeria Police Refuse Bribe? by hackney(m): 5:26pm On Feb 21, 2009
As with every other thing nigerian ,this one also has no solution: pay the police well and they will not want to even attempt to deter robbers.(try paying any nigerian near full before he does the job and see what happens)
Pay them inadequately and they will shoot dead innocent commuters and parade them on live telly with ammulet decorations claiming that they are ferocious armed gang leaders.
The police bribery situation (i imagine) must have been initiated by policemen.
Like i said the problem with nigeria is Nigerians!!!!!!!!!!!
Business › Re: What Was Your Worst Experience With Our Nigerian Banks? by hackney(m): 3:56pm On Feb 21, 2009
Nigeria is like the devil's playground ; i knew there will be a time when banks will take your money and talk rubbish as explanation.
I hate everything that country stands for.
The only solution to nigeria is : NO NIGERIANS

Travel › Re: HOTEL REVIEWS NGR & Gimmicks Abuja Hoteliers Use To Attract Lodgers by hackney(m): 2:44pm On Feb 21, 2009
Try sharon ultimate in garki (area 3) :serious value for money (N14000) and really nice view.
or Denis hotel (wuse 2) : very safe and top service but a bit pricey (N24000; but i think they have a tour guide or so)
All those Sharaton and Nicon are over-priced (waste of cheddar abeg.)
Car Talk › Re: The Effects Of Naira Devaluation On Car Prices by hackney(m): 2:28pm On Feb 21, 2009
I think that due to the Naira devaluation, the price of used cars will initially go up a bit as expected ; however due to the credit crunch(global downturn if you may),there are millions of brand new cars at ford, toyota, honda, mini, (infact all car makers) that are unsold.
As a result i think that the price of brand new cars will fall further and this will in turn drive down the price of used ones(it should do but knowing that anything 'Nigeria' doesn't follow any rules or market principles, ).
Travelling abroad to buy new cars if you can seems to be looking like a viable option at the moment (for those who can afford them mind you).
Travel › Re: What Is Abuja Like? Is Relocation Advisable? by hackney(m): 1:59pm On Feb 21, 2009
I think that Abuja is probably the best place to live in Nigeria; the security for even the  common person is high.
I land there as well as stay there when i visit nigeria.
True, its expensive but considering the pluses like safety (which has no price by the way; if you think about it),clean ennvirons, polite citizens, amenities and the nice relaxed vibe, you will basically be getting fantastic value for money.
I will highly recommend it if you want to relocate.
Calabar is cool (leafy and with 'quite' nice people) but i wont go as far as comparing it with ABJ.
Nice interesting thread by the way;thanks
Crime › Re: Beware, This Is Scam! by hackney(m): 1:39pm On Feb 21, 2009
This scam is over 100yrs old.
To get your email address, they simply pay a lowly bank worker some pittance or they go high tech with internet crawlers that sift out email addresses.
infact for UK banks with helpdesks in india,100's of full customer details can be purchased for £10.

Politics › Re: Shame On Nigerian Police - All Because Of 50 Naira Bribe They Want To Die by hackney(m): 7:13pm On Feb 07, 2009
No, She didnt get all she deserved;
If they were truely after N50;The driver should have got off the car ;stuffed a dirty N20 in her mouth and sealed her dirty mouth with a heavy back hander.
They run when there is armed robbery and then crawl out afterwards to arrest innocent citizens.
They also shoot people travelling with loads of money and tag them armed robbers.
That's why i pushed one into the bush when i was stopped for nothing a while ago.
The Nigerian police are the most low-down dirty, corrupt set of rats i've ever seen!!
Bunch them with the politicians and drown them like F**king rats.

Romance › Re: Why Do Women Love Bastards? by hackney(m): 5:27am On Feb 03, 2009
Some lines of wisdom: women get bored easily and as a result Mr 'Nice' doesnt usually get a look-in.
However a Bad boy is usually unpredictable and daring which gives the ladies a certain rush and keeps them 'engaged' over quite a while.
Believe this or not: a woman does not fancy a man that asks if he can have ; they prefer men that just go for it and take it ; i guess every girl has an inner slut wanting to be roughed up a bit.
Dont hit your gals though;just keep them guessing and with the ocassional outdoor squeezing (ha ha!!)
