Not sure pics will make any difference because you will be looking at a dream house that does not exist.

If they can tell you there are fantastic houses to buy when there are none, what makes you think that when they eventually post a picture it will be a geniune one?
Infact this is the oldest scam ever (if you remember)
Politics › Re: 5 Greatest Living Nigerians by hackney(m): 10:18am On May 16, 2009
As for me, of all the people being listed i respect GANI FAWEHINMI the most.
The man had no bias of any kind at all in his pursuit for justice and fairness.
He is easily the most upright of all the names being bandied around.

For the rest, from a distance they sound great but in details (at close range) a lot of very shady deals/things were going on all the time at the expense of the common man.

I will even put Fela before the other ones ; just that his profile is not quite 'mainstream' enough.

Computers › Re: Why Is Fast Internet Only A Dream In Nigeria by hackney(m): 11:05am On May 11, 2009
Mr Poster ,I understand your frustration but why mention UK in the same paragraph as Nigeria in tech comparisms?

This may lead to hallucinations and other delusions of grandeur coupled with this big false sense of greatness which is common with nigerians. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Try comparing Nigerian technology proficiencies with say Ghana, senegal, gambia and cote d'voire (not S.africa or egypt).

Look , when an ISP comes to nigeria and sees the culture of buying cheap equipment, giving poor service and swindling customers, of course theywill help themselves

Business › Re: Outsourcing Business In Nigeria: Why Can't It Work? by hackney(m): 9:16pm On May 10, 2009
You want all your company related info (customer details) sold for pennies in the yahoo market huh

Wait 90yrs by when it is slightly likely that we are more structured,security-viable and fairly stable peace-wise.
Also hopefully by then the govt (or whatever they are called now) will have a record of who lives where so that checks/traces can be made.

Also i have to admit that nigerians are a bit on the lazy side unless only when their jobs are directly at stake; Picture a scenario where you have hired workers/labourers. Can you honestly say that you can imagine them working hard to get the job done properly if they know they will be paid either way? I simply think that its not in their ethics at all.
i think we should start with not deceiving ourselves on such matters. Nigerian workers have no concept of creating a good image for the FUTURE esp if its not their company/business (rubbish customer service that shout at customers every minute) ; coupled with the  culture of complete rudeness, loudness and the i-am-only-concerned-with-now mentality.

One Old OGA in UBA HQ still dey shout  'useless idiot' to a staff in front of everybody

(in a nut-shell)

The problem will arise when the goods get to nigeria (unfortunately);there is zero control at that stage.
I guess its the same as posting valuable goods in nigeria

Family › Re: Polygamism - Can You Trust Your Half Brothers And Sisters? by hackney(m): 2:38pm On May 07, 2009
I dont have any of those but if i did it will be a resounding No:
Polygamy is completely un-natural because it puts multiple women in direct competition for everything for life and that passes on to the kids.
Might be because im old fashioned in that i think one woman shld be completely in charge of the home front whether she works or not while the man brings in major bacon.but that's BTW.

In my home town, this rich polygamist man now in his early 70's is so heart broken because his male offsprings that had potential (like school-smart , hardworking and business-minded) have all been poisoned in the house.

I remember one day one of the older wife's son came back from abuja( this was when abuja was relatively unknown) and plucked an orange from a huge orange tree. unknown to him, there had been a quarrel about the younger wife's little kids plucking it unripe.

As soon as the kids saw this young man pluck just one, having come in from a far dusty stressfull journey down to the village (you know), they told their mum who blew the whistle and within 20mins very few LEAVES were left on the tree. right there and then i swore that i will never ever have anything to do with polygamy.

And by the way, the guy that first plucked the orange was poisoned about 6 yrs later supposedly by the step-mom or half mum or whatever you want to call it.So promising was he;he was going out with one of the popular home movie stars who even came to the villa with him once. Oh!! what a waste!!

I dont trust any of those poxy relatives apart from my siblings considering that my family passed exams and got scholarships while the other ones cldnt even write their names. The jealousy was and is still so thick that birds flying across bounce off against it.

hei!! OSISI !!!! OFE EGWUSI!!!!

My belle don burst with laughter (honestly i've pulled a musce o!! and ur getting the medical bill!!)

May nairaland survive 5 holocausts and 10 nuclear wars Amen!!

On a more serious note someone earlier on this thread stated that women can do with out men hence begging the question: Do you know that 99.9% of everything you set your eyes on from wake back to sleep is MAN-MADE (we are talking conceptualisation all the way to production design and machines;never mind the women testing the final product to see if it 'good' like bras and lippies; not kidding; note that im refering to tangible products)
Guess what makes up the 0.01%. . . . . . . . . . nature

(But i wont carry on with this conversation so back to osisi)
I want some egwsi ooo!!   (onye mbano!!!!)

Crime › Re: Will You Turn In A Relation Or A Friend Who Is A 419ner by hackney(m): 11:35pm On May 04, 2009
Agaba this is because Nigeria as a society has gone so far down the corruption route that trying to revert this state of mind from the 'grass-root' is almost like taunting the have-nots  and leaving the real thieves to their spoils.

This is by the way but a bit relevant:
Some things can be too late to solve like: its too late for India and china to ascend into the first world because despite their potential, events have been overtaken by their incredible population (lets not go into how much employment is required there to elevate their income per capita to 1st world status)

And Nigeria is heading that way in terms of economic status
Crime › Re: Will You Turn In A Relation Or A Friend Who Is A 419ner by hackney(m): 10:24pm On May 04, 2009
Honestly?  NO
I wont even turn in a stranger i just had a massive brawl with if he was a 419ner.

The turn-in exercise should start from the presidency ( i think)
Not a principled response i know but im not turning in some guy trying to make a fast buck while CBN is Ya'radua's wallet
No, not today

Family › Re: Pastor Loses Wife To Richer Pastor by hackney(m): 8:04pm On May 03, 2009
I am fully aware of pastors' antics in the churches in nigeria; scoping choir girls any how.

One Rev father disturb my girl tire for Naija in the late '90s ; inviting her to 'come and wash clothes and clean house ' for him.
very shameful.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Swine Flu Free_says Minister_of Health by hackney(m): 7:49pm On May 03, 2009
Is the press truely free in Nigeria? because how can they let someone come on air and say such a thing when there are no health facilities in Nigeria.

I remember Lassa fever wiping out an entire village in the north and UK medics had to sort that one out.
And till now we dont know how to treat lassa fever so how dare he say that on air?
The Nigeria Govt or whatever you may want to call it doesnt even know who lives where.

I completely disgusted

shebi,
I think its more logical to have the little ones eat first and not waiting for a grown man to eat before the kids.
