Its called PR gone wrong. The COCIN leadership was even quick to suggest same and alot of people including the same xtians were jubilating over the killing and justifying why worshippers of a supposedly loving faith should strip and lynch or batter the face of a person to death around a church(so much for sanctuary,so much for who can cast the first stone). The victim could not be recognised from his face? That wasn't enough, leaf there church run up the street and then snuff life out of another 3 okada riders going about there business. If you say is self defense, can you please explain the act outside the church (killing of the okada riders that were not even aware of what is happening, other wise they won't go there to die like that)?
The xtian leaders especially in Jos are use to this cheap lies. Also they are responsible for instigating or making erroneous assumptions to followers just to instigate violence.Later they only come around to sit and act innocent.Every soul not a group and not a Nation would stand and answer for itss role on earth including the cold blooded killings on both sides.Don't think you can hide behind lies and people to kill or instigate and then when you stand before your maker think you can act like that.Every and each soul shall answer!!!!What role you played and if its right?

Politics › Re: Israeli Fear Over Iran Nuclear Program by hakanai(m): 3:33pm On Mar 06, 2012
^^^ Exactly what USA said about Russia .The same way the World said India and Pakistan would destroy each other once any of them acquires the nuclear technology. The real reason both Israel and USA etc fear a nuclear Iran is more of power and influence in the Middle east period. They can't afford to lose power and become fair in dialogue or issues as long as the middle east remains.
The dreaded terrorist groups world wide still have barely any Iranian citizens. Yet US is more apprehensive of Iran than all the countries that have al-qaida members.eg Egypt,Yemen,Saudi Arabia! why is it so?Iran may not have an open society ye they have a better democratic system than most of the western allies of the middle east.Who are known tyrants or monarchy.
The Issue is not about Nuclear armament or wars, but about power control in the middle east.Iran knows about the Israel weapons and knows to well that it amounts to a MAD(mutual assured destruction ) in any one tries to use it.The weapons are mostly for deterrent.Funny enough that world wide only one nation has actually used such weapons and we is US!!!!

Attacks raised fears that MEND's violent campaign to disrupt oil production is resuming after a two-year hiatus [EPA]

A group fighting for a greater share of Nigeria's oil wealth in the country's delta region has claimed responsibility for killing four police officers this week.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) said in an email it sent to reporters on Friday that it shot the four police officers who were on a boat patrolling the Nembe river in Bayelsa state on Thursday.

The attack is the second assault in about four weeks.

The police attack comes about a month after MEND claimed responsibility for an attack on an oil pipeline in the area that is operated by Italian firm Eni SpA.

Before the recent pipeline attack, the group had been relatively quiet.

Hostages taken

The two attacks raise fears that MEND, which once crippled Nigeria's oil industry with a wave of attacks targeting foreign oil companies, could be remobilising.

The statement also raises concerns about MEND's ties with pirates.

The group said said in the statement that kidnappers of three foreign crew members on a Dutch-owned vessel had offered to hand over their hostages to MEND. It said the hostages were in good health.

The International Maritime Bureau had reported that a captain and chief engineer were kidnapped off the vessel anchored in the city of Port Harcourt during an attack by pirates on Tuesday. It said a crew member was also missing.

The Curacao-flagged vessel laden with refrigerated cargo had 14 crew members from Russia, Ukraine and the Philippines, said Noel Choong, who heads the bureau's piracy reporting centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Choong did not give the kidnapped crew members' nationalities.

Attacks continue

The MEND statement named the hostages and said the captain and chief engineer are Russian, while the crew member is from the Philippines.

"We are considering this offer [to take over the hostages] as these men were not captured from a vessel related to the Nigerian oil industry," the statement read. It did not say what was required for the hostages to be freed.

"We are studying the statement," said Lieutenant-Colonel Timothy Antigha, spokesman for a special taskforce dealing with the threat of militancy in the oil-rich region. "We have learned to take these claims with a pinch of salt."

MEND started its violent campaign in 2006 in Nigeria's southern delta, where foreign firms have pumped oil out of the country for more than 50 years.

That violence ebbed in 2009 with a government-sponsored amnesty program promising ex-fighters monthly payments and job training.

But few in the delta have seen the promised benefits and scattered kidnappings and attacks continue, though at much smaller scale than they used to occur.

Okorocha calls for creation of more states in South-East to honour Ojukwu

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, on Monday demanded the creation of additional states for the South-East to honour Chief Chukwuemeka Odumuegwu-Ojukwu.

Okorocha made the call at a ceremony he organised to receive the remains of Ojukwu at the Heros’ Square in Owerri.

It will be recalled that the people of Imo, including traditional rulers, politicians and other dignitaries trooped out in their numbers to pay their last respect to the late Ikemba Nnewi.

Okorocha noted that under the leadership of Ojukwu, the latent resourcefulness and ingenuity of black Africa was brought to the full attention of the watching world, adding that the only way to honour him, was to create one more state for the South-East.

He described Ojukwu as a hero and a man of destiny, who abandoned the comfort of his rich family to fight for the cause of his people.

Okorocha said that the Igbos would continue to remember Ojukwu for “the imagination he brought to the leadership of the young Biafra in a difficult war period.’’

“The many feats achieved by his Biafran engineers (without any foreign technicians and inputs), including the construction of a functioning airport, effective weapons and ‘novel’ petroleum refineries, described by a British newspaper as a manufacturing workshop, is already a historical immortality,’’ he said.

The governor said that Ojukwu was the greatest patriot of the Nigerian nation who prevented the loss of lives of people from the Northern and Southern regions and reduced the magnitude of genocide perpetrated against the eastern people living in the regions.

“Lying still before us is our charismatic hero and the man of destiny which historical immortality will remember for his courageous, doggedness and selfless service to us.

“Ojukwu is love personified and chooses to die for the cause of his people. He will be remembered for his powerful oratory prowess and eloquence,” he said.

Okorocha thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for the moral and financial support he gave to Ojukwu and his family throughout his stay in the U.K.

Part of the reception ceremony was heavy fireworks, 21 gun salute and the laying of wreath by eminent Nigerians and some governors, including those from Anambra, Ekiti and Kwara some of whom sent representatives. (NAN)

But I heard in another version of the news that the man killed was wearing the same military camouflage with the suicide bomber sitting at the passenger front seat and jumped out after the bomb exploded, which one to believe now?
Well from the OP its reported the STF and family had discussed his likely involvment and it is more of mob gone wild and friendly fire.Better still jungle justice.Hasty conclusions and inconsiderations to warnings. An eye witness in other reports suggested the worshippers actually caught him and argued over if they should kill him. It's likely he was dazed by the explosion and someone from possibly a wrong angle thought he was with the vehicle that carried out the attack.unfortunately he paid the ultimate price in the hands of his own people.Did you see the guy in military uniform in the pictures posted. They had stripped him and one could hardly suggest they had any evidence of uniform.ESpecially where they are know to keep such photos to justify there position. They snapped the damaged buildings, dismemebered body part and the suspects body laying dead and nude.So who took the uniform off?Where did they hide it and why have they failed to show it to the world.

Politics › Re: 9 Christians Caught Attempting To Bomb COCIN Church In Bauchi by hakanai(m): 12:02pm On Feb 27, 2012
THISDAY NEWS PAPERS (http://thisdayonline.com/)
By  Segun Awofadeji

Bauchi State Police Command Sunday arrested eight persons in connection with an alleged attempt to bomb COCIN LCC Church in Miya Barkatai village in Toro Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, said in a statement in Bauchi, that the timely intervention of the police prevented the occurrence of an ugly incident in the state.

Aduba said the act was to be carried out by members of a rival group in the COCIN church in the village due to some misunderstanding among them.

“There had been a lingering rivalry and acrimony between the COCIN church adherents within Toro/Tilden Fulani axis of Bauchi State. The said rivalry came to a head   Sunday when one of the factions stormed the COCIN church and demanded for documents belonging to the church and which led to a row,” the commissioner said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the inability of the rival group to secure the church's documents angered members of the group who later returned to the church with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) but were apprehended by the police before carrying out the act.
“Our bomb experts, having successfully disarmed the recovered IED, have further confirmed that it is a complete bomb, manually operated and that it is the second time we are seeing this kind of IED as it is clearly similar to those used in the foiled Ganjuwa invasion; very potent and dangerous,” he said.

The statement added that the suspects were already in police custody helping out with investigations and would soon be brought to book. It called on the general public to be wary of the activities of those that demand for various tin cans and plastic materials as those items were now used in making IEDs. The statement assured that the police would checkmate the activities of such evil perpetrators and therefore called on people to provide useful information.

A Toro local government official who witnessed the incident said: “The suspects were arrested with sophisticated weapons and all of them are  living in the area even though they are from the neighbouring villages near Miya Barkatai.” The official who pleaded anonymity said after they were arrested there was confusion among the residents and Christian worshippers that raised high tension in the area the people wanted the security personnel to allow them to deal with the suspects.

He said soldiers and other security operatives took away the
suspects to Bauchi for further investigations.

Meanwhile, the President of COCIN, Rev. Soja Bewarang, has described the police statement as “absolutely untrue”, adding that it was “impossible” for any branch to have a dispute without his  knowledge or that of the church headquarters.
Bewarang said the story was created to cause confusion about the current situation.

Eight persons, suspected of allegedly attempting a bomb attack on a rival faction of their own church, have been arrested the Bauchi state police confirmed.

According to the Reuters report, the attempted attack had taken place only hours after the suicide bombing of the Church of Christ in Nigeria in Jos, Plateau state.

Police in Bauchi say the suspects, who are reportedly not members of the radical sect, were caught with explosives in their possession, as well as other weapons, at the Evangelical Church of West Africa.

“Some people attempted to attack the ECWA Church. It was a rival group within the church … this morning,” police Commissioner Ikechukwu Ayo Aduba told Reuters in a phone interview.

“When we got the report we sent our men who arrested about eight of them and seized the explosives.”

Earlier today, a lone suicide bomber driving a black car packed with explosives had rammed the gates of the Church of Christ in Nigeria, only 30 minutes into the morning service.

Nigeria emergency services say three people were killed and at least 38 injured. Witnesses say the gates had been closed for the worship session when suicide bomber had attempted to force his way in.

He detonated the device and brought the service to a premature dreadful end.

Radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, claimed responsibility for the attacks, which they say were without reason.

They also promised more attacks on the way, which many fear will lead to a wider rift between both religions.

Whymee:
We don't need to go far, 25th Dec 2011, a bomb was detonated in Madala, (saint Theresa church) in Abuja, few minutes after the congregation. BOKO HARAM CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY.
The Holy spirit as claim by Christian reveal things must have informed the pastor during the congregation that a bomb is wittin the church, the pastor should also be arrested for conspiracy, aiding and abetting TERRORIST

If HOLY SPIRIT conspired in doing this, who else is innocent.

Because I can't just explain why prayer session on 25th Dec where holy spirits are havering around the church, yet it can't detect a bomb.

If BH plan to detonate a bomb, and Holy spirit kept quiet and refuse to reveal such plan to any Christian before the attach, then such bomb detonation is approved by IT

Then such action is a joint effort of BH and HOLY SPIRIT.

holy spirit plays the software role while BH plays the hardware role, GOOD TEAMWORK.

So Christians have this intelligence and questioning to query a report to defend and protect Christianity, Yet they hide such intelligence when Islam is in question.

It is in Nigeria that HOLY SPIRIT predicts the result of sport competitions, but no predictions on next attach by BH to safe Christians, even if the bomb is in the church auditorium.

BE WISE,
^^^ Make sure that spirit follow for wanted list along side shekau.Atleast Kabiru is caught @50mil. grin grin grin grin grin grin.Guy you funny some how.

EzeUche:
The names mentioned seem to be Northern in origin. Even if I believe this article, the people who were caught are still Northerners and are not members of the South groups.
This means that these attacks on the North are not only fueled by religious sentiment, but also tribal sentiment, which is something I long suspected.
please abeg wear your thinking cap, save us the crap of an excuse. Why then do we have a national CAN chairman for Nigeria.Better still why e concern you if xtians have issues up north.Yet the same xtians are not xtians cos they from the North.Na so una sabi dodge back fire. You also know that the missile sent by oyedapo may have found a way into the camps of this guys too abi!!You find it unbelievable abi? What ever you do learn to be truthfull and accept blames.Nothing like northern or southern xtian.Xtian na xtian like wise muslims na muslims.
