All this foul cry by this nations is just to get some kind of international support based on fear.Has Russia used her nuclear to destroy USA (the only nation who has actually used one on Japan).Did North Korea ever use her own on the South?Has Pakistan or India used there own to annihilate each other?Has Israel used has to also level the middle east as she claims in any case of aggression? The examples i have sighted here simply show that Nuclear is for deterrent than any real use.Israel needs to be sure when ever she feels like flogging any nation in here sphere of influence they just turn and take the beating. With Iran having Nuclear or the air defense capability such as the S300 changing the balance. making another power emerge who doesn't suck up to them. So the story remains Iran this Iran that.Attacking US would be Irans greatest mistake.Like wise attacking Israel.Considering the Nuclear and international angle to it.So Iran actually if true they intend to build any,Just need something to tell this bullying nations to back off.If today Iran developed Nuclear capability they won't fight but will be best of buddies and dialogue at the table with respect for each other. Not like treats and bullying. That aside we need know how to make garri snack first. The treat never reach us yet in Africa, |
LOL !!!! You hated Jesus for 44years?Who thought you that one. That has and always is the mind set of most Islamically ignorant Christians, who in must cases think Muslims are supposedly expected to hate Christ or flee at the mention of Jesus (AS).So you were never a Muslim, but narrator of deceit. The person narrating is misguided beyond doubt.People calling others fool here for using there brains are just as ignorant and foolish as the liar.Denying Jesus or hating or abusing him almost certainly nullify your belief as a Muslim. Islamic articles of faith include believing in the prophets of God.Jesus(AS) also known Islamically as Isa(AS) is definitely a messenger/prophet of Allah bring the gospel(Injeel) to the world. So how did you become a Muslim and hate Jesus? You had no faith as a Muslim mr lie lie.You never liked a prophet and i can bet you never respected his message. So your faith was mere of turbaning and wasting your time around the mosque compound.help yourself out below:Articles of faith in Islam. Articles of faith Main articles: Aqidah and Iman The core beliefs of Islam are that there is only one God – unitary and beyond comprehension – and that Muhammad is His prophet, the last in a series of prophets beginning with Adam. The Qur’an is upheld as the eternal, literal word of God, and revelations to earlier prophets, as seen in the Jewish Torah and Christian Gospels, are believed to have become distorted by human intervention. Muslims believe that the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel, and belief in angels as God’s servants is part of the Islamic tradition. Belief in the Day of Judgment, when all people will undergo bodily resurrection and be judged by God, is another core tenet. While Sunni and Shi’a Muslims adhere to these basic beliefs, Shi’a also believe in the Imamate, the line of infallible spiritual and political leaders who succeeded Muhammad, beginning with his cousin and son-in-law, Ali.[23] God Main article: God in Islam Allah means God in Arabic Islam's most fundamental concept is a rigorous monotheism, called tawhīd (Arabic: توحيد). God is described in chapter 112 of the Qur'an as:[24] "Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him." (112:1-4) Muslims repudiate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and divinity of Jesus, comparing it to polytheism, but accept Jesus as a prophet. In Islam, God is beyond all comprehension and Muslims are not expected to visualize God. God is described and referred to by certain names or attributes, the most common being Al-Rahmān, meaning "The Compassionate" and Al-Rahīm, meaning "The Merciful" (See Names of God in Islam).[25] Muslims believe that creation of everything in the universe is brought into being by God’s sheer command “‘Be’ and so it is.”[26][27] and that the purpose of existence is to worship God.[2][28] He is viewed as a personal God who responds whenever a person in need or distress calls Him.[26][29] There are no intermediaries, such as clergy, to contact God who states “We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein”[30] Allāh is the term with no plural or gender used by Muslims and Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews meaning the one God, while ʾilāh (Arabic: إله) is the term used for a deity or a god in general.[31] Other non-Arab Muslims might use different names as much as Allah, for instance "Tanrı" in Turkish or "Khodā" in Persian. Angels Main article: Islamic view of angels Belief in angels is fundamental to the faith of Islam. The Arabic word for angel (Arabic: ملاك malak) means "messenger", like its counterparts in Hebrew (malakh) and Greek (angelos). According to the Qur'an, angels do not possess free will, and worship God in total obedience.[32] Angels' duties include communicating revelations from God, glorifying God, recording every person's actions, and taking a person's soul at the time of death. They are also thought to intercede on man's behalf. The Qur'an describes angels as "messengers with wings—two, or three, or four (pairs): He [God] adds to Creation as He pleases, "[33] Revelations Main articles: Islamic holy books and Qur'an See also: History of the Qur'an The first sura in a Qur'anic manuscript by Hattat Aziz Efendi The Islamic holy books are the records which most Muslims believe were dictated by God to various prophets. Muslims believe that parts of the previously revealed scriptures, the Tawrat (Torah) and the Injil (Gospels), had become distorted—either in interpretation, in text, or both.[4] The Qur'an (literally, “Reading” or “Recitation”) is viewed by Muslims as the final revelation and literal Word of God and is widely regarded as the finest piece of literature work in the Arabic language.[34][35][36] Muslims believe that the verses of the Qur'an were revealed to Muhammad by God through the archangel Gabriel (Jibrīl). On many occasions between 610 and his death on June 8, 632.[37] The Qur'an was reportedly written down by Muhammad's companions (sahabah) while he was alive, although the prime method of transmission was orally. It was compiled in the time of Abu Bakr, the first caliph, and was standardized under the administration of Uthman, the third caliph. The Qur'an is divided into 114 suras, or chapters, which combined, contain 6,236 āyāt, or verses. The chronologically earlier suras, revealed at Mecca, are primarily concerned with ethical and spiritual topics. The later Medinan suras mostly discuss social and moral issues relevant to the Muslim community.[38] The Qur'an is more concerned with moral guidance than legal instruction, and is considered the "sourcebook of Islamic principles and values".[39] Muslim jurists consult the hadith, or the written record of Prophet Muhammad's life, to both supplement the Qur'an and assist with its interpretation. The science of Qur'anic commentary and exegesis is known as tafsir.[40] When Muslims speak in the abstract about "the Qur'an", they usually mean the scripture as recited in Arabic rather than the printed work or any translation of it. To Muslims, the Qur'an is perfect only as revealed in the original Arabic; translations are necessarily deficient because of language differences, the fallibility of translators, and the impossibility of preserving the original's inspired style. Translations are therefore regarded only as commentaries on the Qur'an, or "interpretations of its meaning", not as the Qur'an itself.[41] Prophets Main article: Prophets of Islam Muslims identify the prophets of Islam (Arabic: نبي nabī ) as those humans chosen by God to be his messengers. According to the Qur'an[42] the descendants of Abraham and Imran were chosen by God to bring the "Will of God" to the peoples of the nations. Muslims believe that prophets are human and not divine, though some are able to perform miracles to prove their claim. Islamic theology says that all of God's messengers preached the message of Islam—submission to the Will of God. The Qur'an mentions the names of numerous figures considered prophets in Islam, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus, among others.[43] Muslims believe that God finally sent Muhammad (Seal of the Prophets) to convey the divine message to the whole world (to sum up and to finalize the word of God). In Islam, the "normative" example of Muhammad's life is called the Sunnah (literally "trodden path" . This example is preserved in traditions known as hadith ("reports" , which recount his words, his actions, and his personal characteristics. Hadith Qudsi is a sub-category of hadith, regarded as the words of God repeated by Muhammad differing from the Quran in that they are "expressed in Muhammad's words", whereas the quran are the "direct words of God". The classical Muslim jurist ash-Shafi'i (d. 820) emphasized the importance of the Sunnah in Islamic law, and Muslims are encouraged to emulate Muhammad's actions in their daily lives. The Sunnah is seen as crucial to guiding interpretation of the Qur'an. Six of these collections, compiled in the 3rd century AH (9th century CE), came to be regarded as especially authoritative by the largest group in Islām, the Sunnites. Another large group, the Shīʾah, has its own Ḥadīth contained in four canonical collections.[26] Resurrection and judgment Main article: Qiyama Belief in the "Day of Resurrection", Yawm al-Qiyāmah (Arabic: يوم القيامة) is also crucial for Muslims. They believe the time of Qiyāmah is preordained by God but unknown to man. The trials and tribulations preceding and during the Qiyāmah are described in the Qur'an and the hadith, and also in the commentaries of scholars. The Qur'an emphasizes bodily resurrection, a break from the pre-Islamic Arabian understanding of death.[44] On Yawm al-Qiyāmah, Muslims believe all mankind will be judged on their good and bad deeds. The Qur'an lists several sins that can condemn a person to hell, such as disbelief (Arabic: كفر Kufr), and dishonesty; however, the Qur'an makes it clear God will forgive the sins of those who repent if He so wills.[45] Good deeds, such as charity and prayer, will be rewarded with entry to heaven. Muslims view heaven as a place of joy and bliss, with Qur'anic references describing its features and the physical pleasures to come. Mystical traditions in Islam place these heavenly delights in the context of an ecstatic awareness of God.[46] Yawm al-Qiyāmah is also identified in the Qur'an as Yawm ad-Dīn (Arabic: يوم الدين), "Day of Religion";[47] as-sāʿah (Arabic: الساعة), "the Last Hour";[48] and al-Qāriʿah (Arabic: القارعة), "The Clatterer."[49] Predestination Main article: Predestination in Islam In accordance with the Islamic belief in predestination, or divine preordainment (al-qadā wa'l-qadar), God has full knowledge and control over all that occurs. This is explained in Qur'anic verses such as "Say: 'Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector', "[50] For Muslims, everything in the world that occurs, good or evil, has been preordained and nothing can happen unless permitted by God. According to Muslim theologians, although events are pre-ordained, man possesses free will in that he has the faculty to choose between right and wrong, and is thus responsible for his actions. According to Islamic tradition, all that has been decreed by God is written in al-Lawh al-Mahfūz, the "Preserved |

Nigeria Secret Police: Sect Spokesman Arrested by The Associated Press text size AAA MAIDUGURI, Nigeria February 1, 2012, 03:04 pm ET MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — The purported spokesman for a radical Islamist sect responsible for hundreds of killings in recent weeks in Nigeria has been arrested, an official with the country's secret police said Wednesday. The official with Nigeria's State Security Service declined to give many details about the man known by the nom de guerre Abul-Qaqa, simply saying that officers are questioning him. If it is him, the spokesman's arrest could prove to be a boon for Nigeria's weak central government, which has remained unable to stop attacks by the sect known as Boko Haram. However, the same agency paraded a supposed spokesman only weeks earlier who apparently had only a loose affiliation with a group that has splintered and become even more dangerous. And a national spokeswoman tried to deny the reported arrest without being able to explain the apparent confusion gripping an agency charged with protecting the nation. Ahmed Abdullahi, the Borno state director for the secret police agency, told The Associated Press on Wednesday night that officers tracked down the man through signals sent out by his mobile phone. The agency later flew him to Nigeria's capital Abuja for further questioning. Abul-Qaqa served as the spokesman for the radical wing of the sect, often as a go-between between its leaders and trusted members of north Nigeria's media. He issued claims of responsibility typically the same day as attacks to journalists working for either the BBC's Hausa language service or The Daily Trust newspaper, the two most trusted sources of news in Nigeria's Muslim north. Abdullahi declined to give the man's name, and it wasn't clear whether he faced criminal charges or had legal representation. Reached Wednesday night, national secret police spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar denied the agency had arrested Abul-Qaqa, but was unable to explain why a top official with the agency would say otherwise. "We don't have him — at least I do not have information that we have him," Ogar said. The State Security Service, which has plainclothes investigators across Nigeria, is charged with securing the nation, However, it is an agency long associated with suppressing political dissent, rather than putting down the sectarian violence now being carried out by Boko Haram. In November, the secret police claimed it made a major breakthrough in stopping the sect by arresting Ali Sanda Umar Konduga, a supposed Boko Haram spokesman who used the name al-Zawahiri. Konduga implicated a Nigerian senator in taking part in the group. But Konduga, later sentenced to three years in prison, acknowledged he had not made a statement on behalf of Boko Haram for months and that the group had expelled him on suspicion he was a government spy. Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sacrilege" in the local Hausa language, is carrying out increasingly sophisticated and bloody attacks in its campaign to implement strict Islamic law and avenge Muslim killings in Nigeria, a multiethnic nation of more than 160 million people. The sect was blamed for at least 510 killings last year alone, according to an Associated Press count. This year, it is blamed for killing at least 270 people in January alone. On Jan. 20, the sect carried out a coordinated assault on police stations and government agencies in the northern city of Kano that killed 185. Boko Haram has splintered into three factions, with one wing increasingly willing to kill as it maintains contact with terrorist groups in North Africa and Somalia, diplomats and security sources say. With that wing viewing a wide variety of people and institutions as potential targets, even politicians with ties to Boko Haram can no longer consider themselves safe. Violence by Boko Haram has increasingly begun targeting Christians, inflaming longtime tensions in a nation largely divided into a Christian south and a Muslim north. Thousands have died in rioting sparked by ethnic and religious differences in the country since it became a democracy in 1999. On Wednesday, about 2,000 mourners gathered at a Catholic church near Abuja for a mass burial of victims of a Boko Haram bombing there that killed at least 44 people, church officials said. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=146219462 ^^^why this woman dey try confuse people again!!! abi they want to round up others first.@beaf i honestly think you are not being fair to this political opponents of GEJ.wetin dey do you.Your wish and hope everyday is to hear dey get in trouble.Even where that has not happened you keep attacking there person.Haba, you are logical in your approach and you know better than this petty bad blood reflex. |

Jonathan said this during an interview conducted by Reuters in the Presidential Villa. The violent Islamic sect launched coordinated attacks on Kano on Friday over killing of 186 people. Jonathan said, “If they clearly identify themselves now and say this is the reason why we are resisting, this is the reason why we are confronting government or this is the reason why we destroy of some innocent people and their property … then there will be a basis for dialogue. “We will dialogue, let us know your problems and we will solve your problem but if they don’t identify themselves, who will you dialogue with?” (sic) He, however, added that talks with the group could be difficult because the Islamic sect doesn’t have a clear public figurehead that could be invited for talks. “If anybody invited Osama bin Laden (to talks), he wouldn’t have appeared … Boko Haram, if you invite them, they will not come. They operate without a face, they operate without a clear identity, so it is difficult to interface with such a group. “That is the greatest difference between Boko Haram … and the Niger Delta issue. There is no clear thing to say: this is what we want.” While deconstructing the problem, the President told his interviewers that the North’s high unemployment pushed many youths into the ranks of the sect. He said, “Military confrontation alone will not eliminate terror attacks. Our commitment is to make sure our irrigation programmes are all revitalised so most of these young people are engaged in productive agriculture and … will not be free for them to recruit. “There is a lot of evidence, there are linkages … no doubt about that. Meetings are being held in North Africa, the movement of people in these places have been monitored and noticed. The level of involvement and probably in terms of funding and equipment, I do not know.” Asked to comment on the recent warning by Professor Wole Soyinka that Nigeria might be headed towards a civil war, the President replied that this was unlikely. “There is no way Nigeria will go into civil war. These are different situations,” Jonathan said, adding that violence in modern day Nigeria was conducted by “pressure groups” using it to intimidate and threaten rather than full blown armies. As for the service and security chiefs, the President said, “They are trying. Terrorism is new in Nigeria, and since it’s new, the security services have to change their methods. You cannot change methods overnight. But we will do more.” The journalists asked the President if he subscribed to the widespread idea that some northern politicians disgruntled at the election of a Christian southerner were trying to destabilise his government. He said, “I will not rule out that maybe some politicians get close to some members of Boko Haram, but I will not say that Boko Haram is a political group trying to undo Goodluck Jonathan. “I cannot say it’s because a southerner and Christian is president that the Boko Haram saga comes up.” On the fuel subsidy crisis, Jonathan said reports of corruption in the oil ministry and elsewhere were being investigated. He, however, said that he would not sack anyone in the ministry until he saw proof of misconduct. He said, “Nigerians are angry about certain things government has not been able to conclude very quickly … You cannot sentence a person without trial. “I believe that before the end of February, I’m very hopeful, we’ll submit it to the national assembly.” |
Home | News Update | Shekarau debunks reports of arrest by SSS Shekarau debunks reports of arrest by SSS By Kolade Adeyemi 2 hours ago Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font Shekarau Shekarau Former governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau on Wednesday debunked reports that he was arrested by the State Security Services (SSS), saying that he never paid a kobo to sponsor the Boko Haram sect throughout his eight-year tenure. Shekarau, who spoke to reporters in his residence, admitted that he made an informal visit to the SSS headquarters in Abuja ostensibly to share information. Shekarau said his trip to Abuja last Monday was a personal one, adding that he attended a meeting that lasted until 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. He described the report of his arrest by the SSS as embarrassing. “Two days ago, precisely on Monday, I departed Kano in the afternoon for Abuja to attend a meeting in the evening which lasted until 2 a.m on Tuesday. My schedule the following morning (Tuesday) was to pay a condolence visit to the acting Inspector -General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar. “An officer met me and said they have seen the advertorial that put the record straight over the allegation that I was paying allowances to Boko Haram during my administration as governor of Kano State. “Like I always do, I visited security agencies like the Police and SSS to share information. Immediately I finished my condolence visit to the IGP, I drove straight to the SSS office to honour an informal invitation by an officer who ran into me in Abuja. “I even called and asked them to ease the road blocks so that I can finish the discussions on time and catch an IRS flight made to take off by 4 p.m. “I joined the officer and we had a very friendly discussion. He saw me off and I drove straight to the airport. I was at the presidential lodge at about 3 p.m enjoying my small cup of tea when my aide called and said he read on AIT footnote that I have been arrested. I was seriously embarrassed. Immediately, I called the SSS officer and asked if there was a game. How can a friendly visit based on mutual understanding suddenly turned into international news?” |
"Lamido Sanusi:1998 " the greatest problem in Nigeria are the Yoruba Elite . They are area boys Posted by webmadam noelene on February 1, 2012 at 6:47am in Gravepine & Tatafo Amebo wazobia unconfirmed news View BlogArticles What do you think , this is from a friends wall!!! Below is a write-up credit to Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the governor of Central Bank. I saw it on the Wall of a friend and thought to share it with you. As you read the below, also bear in mind that this same man recently gave an interview attributing the rise of Boko Haram to the fiscal lopsidedness of the Southern as against the Northern sates. When you place it side by side with this instant write-up, a clearer picture should emerge. The sponsors of Boko Haram are hiding in plain sight. Nigeria is hanging on tenterhooks.YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA - By Lamido Sanusi , CBN Gov. My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was ” Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors” published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. There was also an earlier publication in the weekly Trust entitled ” The Igbo, the Yoruba and History” (Aug. 21, 1998). In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude. The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention. When Buhari jailed UPN governors like Ige and Onabanjo, the South-Western press castigated that good government and provided the right mood for IBB to take over power. As soon as IBB cleared UPN governors of charges against them in a politically motivated retrial, he became the darling of the South-West. When IBB annulled the primaries in which Adamu Ciroma and Shehu Yar Adua emerged as presidential candidates in the NRC and SDP, he was hailed by the South-West. When the same man annulled the June 12, 1993 elections in which Abiola was the front-runner, the South-West now became defenders of democracy. When it seemed Sani Abacha was sympathetic to Abiola, the South-West supported his take-over. He was in fact invited by a prominent NADECO member to take over in a published letter shortly before the event. Even though Abiola had won the elections in the North, the North was blamed for its annulment. When Abdulsalam Abubakar started his transition, the Yoruba political leadership through NADECO presented a memorandum on a Government of National Unity that showed complete disrespect for the intelligence and liberties of other Nigerians. Subsequently, they formed a tribal party which failed to meet minimum requirements for registration, but was registered all the same to avoid the violence that was bound to follow non-registration, given the area-boy mentality of South-West politicians. Having rejected an Obasanjo candidacy and challenged the election as a fraud in court, we now find a leading member of the AD in the government, a daughter of an Afenifere leader as Minister of State, and Awolowo´s daughter as Ambassador, all appointed by a man who won the election through fraud. Meanwhile, nothing has been negotiated for the children of Abiola, the focus of Yoruba political activity. In return for these favours, the AD solidly voted for Evan Enwerem as Senate President. This is a man who participated in the two-million- man March for Abacha´s self-succession. He also is reputed to have hosted a meeting of governors during IBB´s transition, demanding that June 12 elections should never be de-annulled and threatening that the East would go to war if this was done. When Ibrahim Salisu Buhari was accused of swearing to a false affidavit, the Yoruba political elite correctly took up the gauntlet for his resignation. When an AD governor, Bola Tinubu, swears to a false affidavit that he attended an Ivy League University which he did not attend, we hear excuses. For so many years, the Yoruba have inundated this country with stories of being marginalised and of a civil service dominated by northerners through quota system. The Federal Character Commission has recently released a report which shows that the South-West accounts for 27.8% of civil servants in the range GL08 to GL14 and a full 29.5% of GL 15 and above. One zone out of six zones controls a full 30% of the civil service leaving the other five zones to share the remaining 70%. We find the same story in the economy, in academia, in parastatals. Yet in spite of being so dominant, the Yoruba complained and complained of marginalization. Of recent, in recognition of the trauma which hit the South-West after June 12, the rest of the country forced everyone out of the race to ensure that a South-Westerner emerged, often against the best advice of political activists. Instead of leading a path of reconciliation and strong appreciation, the Yoruba have embarked on short-sighted triumphalism, threatening other “nationalities” that they ( who after all lost the election) will protect Obasanjo ( who was forced on them). No less a person than Bola Ige has made such utterances. To further show that they were in charge, they led a cult into the Hausa area of Sagamu, murdered a Hausa woman and nothing happened. In the violence that followed, they killed several Hausa residents, with Yoruba leaders like Segun Osoba, reminding Nigerians of the need to respect the culture of their host communities. This would have continued were it not for the people of Kano who showed that they could also create their own Oro who would only be appeased through the shedding of innocent Yoruba blood. I say all this, to support Balarabe Musa´s statement, that the greatest problem to nation-building in Nigeria are the Yoruba Bourgeoisie. I say this also to underscore my point that until they change this attitude, no conference can solve the problems of Nigeria. We cannot move forward if the leadership of one of the largest ethnic groups continues to operate, not like statesmen, but like common area boys. iii.The Igbo Factor and the Reasonable Limits of Retribution. The Igbo people of Nigeria have made a mark in the history of this nation. They led the first successful military coup which eliminated the Military and Political leaders of other regions while letting off Igbo leaders. Nwafor Orizu, then Senate President, in consultation with President Azikiwe, subverted the constitution and handed over power to Aguiyi-Ironsi. Subsequent developments, including attempts at humiliating other peoples, led to the counter-coup and later the civil war. The Igbos themselves must acknowledge that they have a large part of the blame for shattering the unity of this country. Having said that, this nation must realise that Igbos have more than paid for their foolishness. They have been defeated in war, rendered paupers by monetary policy fiat, their properties declared abandoned and confiscated, kept out of strategic public sector appointments and deprived of public services. The rest of the country forced them to remain in Nigeria and has continued to deny them equity. The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have conspired to keep the Igbo out of the scheme of things. In the recent transition when the Igbo solidly supported the PDP in the hope of an Ekwueme presidency, the North and South-West treated this as a Biafra agenda. Every rule set for the primaries, every gentleman´s agreement was set aside to ensure that Obasanjo, not Ekwueme emerged as the candidate. Things went as far as getting the Federal Government to hurriedly gazette a pardon. Now, with this government, the marginalistion of the Igbo is more complete than ever before. The Igbos have taken all these quietly because, they reason, they brought it upon themselves. But the nation is sitting on a time-bomb. After the First World War, the victors treated Germany with the same contempt Nigeria is treating Igbos. Two decades later, there was a Second World War, far costlier than the first. Germany was again defeated, but this time, they won a more honourable peace. Our present political leaders have no sense of History. There is a new Igbo man, who was not born in 1966 and neither knows nor cares about Nzeogwu and Ojukwu. There are Igbo men on the street who were never Biafrans. They were born Nigerians, are Nigerians, but suffer because of actions of earlier generations. They will soon decide that it is better to fight their own war, and may be find an honourable peace, than to remain in this contemptible state in perpetuity. The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeoisie have exacted their pound of flesh from the Igbos. For one Sardauna, one Tafawa Balewa, one Akintola and one Okotie-Eboh, hundreds of thousands have died and suffered. If this issue is not addressed immediately, no conference will solve Nigeria´s problems. |

ANPP presidential candidate, Ibrahim Shekarau The threat came on a day 11 suspected members of the group were killed by soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force, JTF, at a checkpoint in Maiduguri, Borno State capital and a week, after its men attacked the city of Kano, killing over 200 persons in a wave of bombings. However, Boko Haram faulted the call for dialogue by President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that, “there is gross inconsistency in all his proclamations’’ so far on the matter. Shekarau who was the All Nigerian Peoples Party, ANPP, presidential candidate in the 2011 general elections said in a statement signed by his Senior Special Adviser, Media, and Public Relations, Alhaji Sule Yau Sule, yesterday, that Kwankwaso discarded his policies and began an administration of ‘’brigandage and policy reversal and denial of right to self expression”. The statement said: ‘’Indeed, the peace and security of lives and properties witnessed during Shekarau’s administration was simply a product of good governance and exemplary leadership. ‘’The structures include the Hisbah Board to among other things, assist the law enforcement agencies in intelligence gathering; the Anti Corruption and Public Complaint Commission to fight corruption and also to allow citizens report misdemeanour among public office holders and civil servants; the Societal Re-orientation Directorate (Adaidaita Sahu) for citizens enlightenment, consultation and advocacy; the Office of the Special Adviser on Education to deal with issues of non formal Almajirai education and their welfare; the Youth Development Directorate to guide and train youths on self-reliant skills and trades; the Zakkat & Hubusi Commission to collect and disburse dues to orphans, widows and other less privileged in the State; and the Shura Council comprising 50 wise men representing all segments of the society and interest groups which advised government on the formation and successful operation of structures which in the end gave Kano State a new look and set the citizens on the path to self revival and self actualization – all, until May 29, 2011. ‘’It is sad to note that all these structures are either completely dismantled by the current administration in Kano, or their operations are dismal due to lack of government support. ‘’Peace and security of lives and property are not about campaign of calumny against innocent persons, brigandage, wanton policy reversal, and denial of citizens’ right to self expression. ‘’Thus, peace and security are not realized through unjustified revocation of lawfully obtained property titles, wilful violation of extant State laws, and selective reward or punishment of employees and other citizens based only on political considerations.’’ Another bomb blast in Kano THERE was yet another bomb attack, yesterday, on the Naibawa Police Station on Zaria Road, Kano State, partially damaging the structure. gunmen believed to be members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, attacked the station by 6.45pm during the evening rush hours, triggering pandemonium in the area. The attack coincided with the Muslim evening prayers, forcing the faithful to stay away from the mosque. Details of the attack WERE sketchy although Vanguard gathered there was a gun duel between the gunmen and security operatives. The Commissioner of police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris confirmed the attack saying, “we are aware of the attack but we can not give you details now” |

Olodostein:^^^^I don't care if it be reciprocated or we disintegrate. They don't have to blow there trumpet!just hit them(BH),since you know them. They (BH) don't talk, without action. The Government should just respond appropriately and match words with action.Since i heard enough is enough,we have being drawing close to the brink of war and BH attacks have grown.Only grammar from one word or phrase to another. While your likes have only help Government with excuses. ![]() Yes in Arewa we may be governed by Muslims or any good leader, but not this PDP bunch again!!!Anyone that can turn our fortunes. That said,Our leaders have contributed one way or the other to fighting the menace of BH and others may have kept quiet to avoid being victims from either the government quarters or the BH quarters. That said Security is solely in the hands of the government and its not to be demanded as you put it on others. What if among a people were covertly your enemy?Would you then insist they help you all.You must be smart and you must be able to fish out your enemies amongst the lot and then crush them with the help of your loyalist from within. The insider is always critical in this. But just to assist you as a means not by force like you folks want to push on us.If we prefer our safety first why force us since you will only say it serve us right when you hear we are at the receiving end, regardless of our sacrifice.Just because of sentiments and hatred. So abeg leave us.Where we can we help and if we are scared we mind our business. ![]() Government in any case should lead the war and others should follow. Not sit on your hands and keep talking politics.Shouting politics, North! North!! leaders! leaders!! always.Leave them alone.Alot of them are trying and if anyone is found wanting please do justice, otherwise stop disturbing us with the defense of this government gross incompetence in terms of security. ![]() For God sake Kano and its population, only 8000 police officer! Not even 10,000.My God and you want result.About Arewa republic i don't know. But definitely i dream and prayer for a better nation be it Nigeria or be it a new sovereign nation. What ever will make it work !!! ![]() |
We like speaking grammar every now and then.Declare war, declare state of emergency, declare , etc Let the security wake up and let the government over haul the system. Also incompetence must be met with severe punishment.Bridge of national security must be dealt with dire consequence. STOP THE POLITICAL EXCUSES!!!!! DEAL WITH THE ISSUES IN THE INTEREST OF NIGERIA!!!!!! ![]() |
Funny i thought business superseded the need to moderate prices.I also thought the SE were okay with the whole thing of 140?How come they are out to enforce the result of struggles by other Nigerians?More like lead lets follow!! wonders shall never end. ![]() |
PDPwayoo:^^^^what exactly have i said in my post to suggest your out burst and name calling?I simply said Biu LGA is not the BH headquarters and its a fact you can find out.Simply because i know much about the place. My LGA is after Biu LGA and I have not said you don't have BH members/supporters here and there but they are not so substantial to even suggest its there haven. Insha Allah it is between me and my maker whether i tarnish the faith or not.Lastly it is yourself that resembles a stupid fool and a terrorist to suggest such.Idiot!!! ![]() My point is clear Biu LGA is not BH headquaters!!!! |
Andre Uweh:I am from the north and i envy the Yoruba model. Its exceptional and commendable. Not only Africa but the entire world needs such a model.Don't be deterred and don't let any enemy or agent of violence or discord sneak into your midst. You are on the path without doubt to peace and glory!!! The simple problem with the Igbo maybe that they want reliable allies via religion because its the only thing that can associate them with others. That apart they are ethnocentric. They know it! I think alot of them are trying to create religious morons for them to ride on the divide. so that when they eventually decide to revenge the biafran and so many other loses they can do it with ease on there bitter rivals (Aka the north).I don't think they like the other tribes as much. They are just playing the religious card simple.Going by the fact they didn't see anything to rejoice over when there neighbor is peaceful and welcoming. Also they don't see the fact that in SW leadership they speak Yoruba and not Muslims vs christian grammar eg in the North and SE especially. We are a typical example in the North. That religious divide today has brought us to destruction!Don't take that path.Just ignore this bunch of moronic agitators. ^^^^^Well my earlier post has being confirmed.I mean from the instigation, religious bigotry, quest for vengence and typical opposite of peace loving.I mean they say they want harmony why the complaining? They never mentioned things that could raise tension or cause problems.yet you are quick to remind us of the post election crisis.Suggesting a divide and directing hatred towards your desired enemy.why not allow them complain or act.Except where you wanna be an INSTIGATOR.Seriously think you are one sha!!!!If you like stand head to head o!it doesn't change the fact that Yorubas don't wanna make an enemy of everyone with out reason or proper understanding of the situation.Okay now can we get back to learning from the Good peace loving real religious people of yoruba land.I got a lesson or two to learn from them. |
"Fresh facts have revealed that the escape of suspected mastermind of the Christmas Day bombing at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madala, Kabir Sokoto, was facilitated by Police Commissioner, Zakari Biu, with veiled backing from close allies of the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim. Competent Police sources at the Force Headquarters told Pointblanknews.com that a recently promoted Commissioner of Police (CP) Biu in charge of Investigations at the Zone 7 Police Command in Wuse Abuja facilitated the escape of Kabir Sokoto. CP Biu, is from Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, which serves as the Headquarters of the Islamic sect. The source hinted that Biu had ordered two of his men who are of the ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) who are detailed to be in charge of the suspect to produce him for personal interrogation. Pointblanknews.com gathered that CP Biu after the “personal interrogation” asked his aide to take the suspect for evening prayers within the premises of his office. According to our source the whole the tale about how the team taking Sokoto to Abaji was ambushed by those loyal to the suspect was all a smokes screen. Pointblanknews.com further learnt that, the police collaborators and their sponsors felt, to allow Sokoto face prosecution was a risk to huge, as he may be forced to reveal names of those behind the sect within the top echelon of the police. "After the prayers, the CP's Aide came back to the office alone and after we were called to account for the suspect", the source revealed. But Police authorities had in a swift response issued a release that the CP Biu has been suspended immediately from office." ^^^ Naija media and fabricate exagerated lies. The above bolded is clearly a big fat lie!!! Biu is not the headquarters of Boko haram. The pockets of cases are not near the cases in other states prone to BH attacks. The state of emergency imposed on the LGA was with full endorsement of the community and environs.Simply Because it is most likely it could spill over to Biu.The people felt they even needed it to ensure that BH doesn't plant any roots in our communities. The Emir has always resisted them and so has the people. The emir has informed and repeatedly asked the people never to harbor them or any religious extremist group. Not today, not now and not ever That is it!!! Boko haram HQ is likely in Niger, chad,Cameroon,Within Maiduguri metropolis or Yobe.BIU has never and God willing will never be there headquarters!!!!Definately somewhere else.People flee Maiduguri to seek refugee in Biu when the BH crisis lingers. |

If its not costly atleast the senate and house of reps should acquire some and cancel all that individual buying of too many cars.Anytime they want to visit or move.Atleast we are kinda hopeful they would come back in one piece, regardless of the area of the oversight or what ever reason to go.!!! It could save cost greatly if its cheaper and The members can move with little fear from small arms.Don't know about the impact of explosives sha? |
Boko haram please come out and dialogue or identify yourselves so that we can be able to know who are those behind this madness.State your objectives clearly and your rancor with the current situation.I urge Boko haram to renounce and make contact honestly with the people and not leaders because i don't trust all of them including GEJ himself. All this PDP people dey fear person. They will do anything to fulfill there agenda to hold power for 60years or zoning palaver. Simply detail your actions and reach our to the people or a trusted NGO then government. Not withstanding i don't even know who to trust anymore.I hope BH is not pulling a fast one on us again. |
garba:Are you sure of that or just another new rumor ? Because i don't see anything on CNN!Secondly we would need more details. |
alj harem:Don't get it!Were they protest leading to 13 deaths or riots target at a people leading to 13 deaths ![]() |
alj harem:Are you sure of this?Because i just dismissed that when i was informed, stating that it may be misleading. After i posted this earlier people simply said its a lie!! |
I think he might be such in a haste that he is bringing to many challenges upon himself.Lastly he should allow the subsidy thing until April and deal with the boko haram issue to a controllable state before he thinks of this policy! I also think his advisers and the PDP are also not helping him here.He needs all the support from this group especially. |
For the daft people here complaining, read my post properly and you can see i clearly stated it is a message circulating on BB as much as feel i should not post it.The likely fact it could be true. i would better tell, than keep it to myself.I said "i hope its a rumor" too. Ngwakwe:For those saying it's impossible to happen in the south.Let me refresh you about just the most recent sapele!!After Egbesu gave them 2 weeks notice to quit.what happened? cogitoErgo:I can assure you that am a northerner but not a boko haram apologist or member. You are definitely daft and stupid to assume that and so pinned to the idea that all who are not demented like you are definitely Boko haram.!!!! umechuma:^^^No you are certainly mad and evil!!!! otokx:^^^hope so too.got a counter message from the #occupynigeria group suggesting its ploy to cause confusion in the protest around the Lagos area.suggesting people disregard it. naijaking1:^^^please justify that with proof o you silly baboon!!!Source is from BB pings!!!! Tyche:I apologise for that, but if you got such a message floating around should i then dump it?especially if could bring harm. BlackBaron:hope so too!!! |
^^^ For me i suggest that its likely true or possible!!!!I mean someone like you seem to have reasons to justify it, even before the action!!! Nchara: |

, this is from a friends wall!!! Nigeria is hanging on tenterhooks.
