My question is how is the binding wire securely attached to the POP? I understand how the binding wire is securely attached to the wood framework.

Is it structurally sound?

Good to know they use screw nails to hold them.

POP is already dry before it is mounted, it is never mounted wet or is it?

Oops! Just seeing this! But here is my submission.

To your questions:. Binding wire is used most effectively on decking areas /how it is used:. Tornado nails are fastened to the decking with Binding wire securely attached to it, the mixed fillas which is the main holder is then attached to the nails & binding wire and while also connected to pop board Piece by piece (I've got an upcoming pop project soon! I'd post a picture for visual understanding! When we start).

Noggin areas don't actually need Binding wires, The mixed fillas is tied across the wooden beams and then connected with the pop board (it is structurally sound). Another purpose of binding wire for noggin areas is to hold firmly range iron for board setting, which would be eventually removed (range & binding wire)

Yes the pop board is dry after casting before it is mounted, like I have always reiterated on this platform, the Pop gets even dryer & stronger as days passes by.


Polystyrene is used here in Nigeria, usually fitted with these accessories: ceiling profile, angle iron, corner bead, joint tape, edge trim & screws etc (Without fillas or Binding wire).

The Total linear meter for that price is 9.

Not just open kitchen, but any other type as well.

Each of the two prices depicts a particular Quality. The Lesser price represents: Normal standard quality (HDF) while the higher price represents a : Higher quality (HDF high gloss)

I was arguing with the pop guy cos of the measurements he gave me.... I told him why is it more than the total sqm of the building and he said cos they multiply the total sqm of the building with the height of the building... Please how true is this?

For Pop ceiling: The width & length is measured = W × L.
For screeding, the wall is usually measured: The width × height = W × H. (Above ground level)

Screeding Measurements is usually more than Pop ceiling Measurements.

I want to use 3watts spotlight for pop in the parlor but electrician is saying it won't be good cos it will be looking like a hotel 🙄🙄🙄that I should use 6watts instead.. Total pop lighting points in the parlor is 24 and 6 wall brackets... Please what is your opinion on this?

Good Morning, am sorry just seeing this.

In my humble opinion, I think the light points is too much, instead of 3watts, you can settle for 6watts and reduce the lights points to a total of 10 or even less, 6watts are actually brighter, in the course of maintenance perhaps in a few years, when some spotlights would need to be changed, while some electrician can perfectly change it without tampering with pop, some can't. have had to cover some holes made on pop by an electrician after he changed the damaged spotlights for a client, which attracts an extra charge fee. (the more holes, the charge). Another consideration is if you're using prepaid, it's too much. But in the End, it's just your decision on how you want it.

● The damage should be properly assesed from inside the Pop ceiling through the man hole.
If the Fillas that was used to hold the ^area of damage^ is broken, the damaged area should be slightly cut out and replaced with another fillas (if extent of damage is large, a casted board should be used too) to strengthen that area again, and a final dressing on the outside, if the fillas on the inside is not affected, then Dressing/screeding (Topbond & screeding paint involved) would do.
