Where else then would your visitor go use a toilet? In your bedroom or the next compound? Maybe throw their waste over the fence?

The visitors toilet can be at entrance of the house, veranda area.

Blocks also come in fixed shape and sizes, but only laid pcs are paid for as long the agreement is per block. Whatever project you are doing, as long as the payment terms is per square meter, it doesn't matter how much materials eventually does the work or how much wastes. The payment remains per square meter of area done. Same goes for tiling, POP, wall cladding, etc, etc.

Talking about the bolded, it's an interior designer project, let's Transform your space, when you get to that stage Sir.

Do a permanent net, then have a sliding window behind it, for ventilation purpose. ✓

A sliding net, in the process of opening & closing, insects can get inside.

When it comes to water pressure from overhead tank, I think all of you are correct in a way. Apart from preference in water pressure (what is satisfactory to me might not work for you), there ways to achieve a decent water pressure for shower.

It is acceptable that the higher the tank the more pressure of the water flow. I think Michlins take is the value in raising such a taller tank stand.

There are many ways to achieve "excellent" water pressure without building tower of David.

First, you must run the pipes from the tank to top most floor directly. (This is the reason why the pressure of water on the roof is better than the one on a stand of the same height.) It does not look neat but it works. Then work your way down the floors. The idea of running the pipe down first before going upstairs waste some pressure.

Secondly, you must incorporate pipe reduction to achieve better water pressure. Pvc or copper pipe reducers should not be hard to find.

In the end, you just want to enjoy shower and forget about stress.

When we start having 24/7 electricity this small thing will replace those heavy tanks

Polystyrene will dissolve/melt when in direct contact with fire and still easier to maintain after. It does not spread the fire.

I will use the UK and by implication the USA as an example of the role of the government in such situation. Or better put, the evidence of a strong institution.

In the UK we have HSE - Health and Safety Executive. HSE is a legal act (institution) that guarantee the minimum standard of safety and (health) hygiene of public/private organisations. The managers of the airport toilet know that HSE is a very strong regulatory institution (body) that will not hesitate to impose the appropriate sanction on the airport including closing some section of the airport if not all the airport due to dirty toilets which is a threat to public health. If this happens heads will roll, so the managers ensure the toilets are regularly cleaned. Home and abroad, people mess up toilets. It is not only in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, the toilets are dirty, the officials are largely corrupt, facilities don't work (air conditioning) due to weak regulatory institutions. I can hazard a guess that in the USA, you probably know a body (institution) you would call if your local airport toilet is a threat to public health and you will make that call in confidence that the body will act. In Nigeria, who will you call in confidence to act. Nigeria is a geographical contraption where no one is in charge.

I concur, Nigeria lacks regulation.

There was once an agency called WAIC(War against indiscipline and corruption). Not sure the the agency still exist. Can things work in this country of ours without bribing. Ordinary prepaid meter , international passport , drivers license can't be issue without bribing people or officials . God help us

Wonder why a Chinese man will come to Nigeria and start disobeying civil rules? That's because under normal circumstances, humans love being wild and animalistic. Unless there are severe consequences for breaking the law,they will be broken at will. Same Nigerians will touch down at JFK airport and immediately wait in line and not want to cut in.

It's not Nigerians, it's the Nigeria institution and government being lousy

I believe the Government and it's citizen has a role to play, in creating a functional institution.

A client of mine, has been using HDF doors for few years now, it still looks neat & sturdy.✓

The Federal Government, sometime last year also rejected Tesla's offer to mine and export raw Lithium out of Nigeria. Insisted they build factories here to process and add local value or forget it.

You people will just be confusing someone

Firstly I read here that it isn't advisable to use white cement screeding for exteriors and one should use ash cement instead... Now someone is saying Ash cement cracks and white cement should be used instead..

Now the question is, which is the best for exterior?

I don't even plan on screeding the exterior cos of the kind of paint I want to use but I'm sure someone here who intends to screed will need the best advice.

No Doubts, Black cement is best for exterior Screeding.

Factors affecting black Screeding.
Plastering : however the plastering of the building has to be good, because if the plastering is cracking it will definitely affect the black Screeding too

Poorly Mixed Screeding/workmanship : either the Screeding is not properly mixed or it's poorly done by the workman, it will fail (TopBond & Drfix etc or other suitable products: should be part of mixing ingredients) some installers don't use it & some don't use enough.

Damp rising: would occur over time.

If everything & admixtures are done properly it will reduce cracking incident.

Alternatively : @Gbadexy sells Ready made Screeding putty very good for external screeding as well.✓

The main Purpose of Screeding is to Smoothen and help cover the flaws (holes, cracks, bumps) on your wall, it also aids your painting, so as not to wear off easily and makes it elegant.
So, if your building is undergoing stress (expansion), perhaps as a result of structural defects, it would definitely cause visible cracks around the building, which can be remedied again by screeding, add fiber mesh between the joints and rescreed.
