Watching the game plan carefully, you'l find that the three in midfield never advance into the attack at the same time. .There's always the discipline to leave one behind, Along with Mikel, Carvalho and Terry we can always form a flat four when a counter attack beckons. Plus you need pacy full backs like Bosingwa and Ashley Cole to play such a system. Whatever the case is, there are always flaws to any system. The best thing to do is to score as many as you can to avoid defeat. . you can only win when you score anyway.

Jack-cow has been going on about how you started slow and still won the premiership, saying that since you did it last season, you'll do it again now.
No one is saying other teams will win all their matches, but if last season is to be taken as a benchmark, chelski's better start bodes for a stronger push this year than 07/08.

Like I've said previously, MU have a lot of extraneous games to play apart from the prem and CL, and this will take its toll on them as well - disrupting rhythm as well as team cohesion due to rotation to meet the demands of all the competitions. With opponents focused on less games, that might also play a strong role this season.

Of course we need to see how things pan out, but make no mistake about it - this season will be tougher, for all concerned so any ideas of simply replicating last season's events should be discountenanced.

The reason I left Arsenal out? Well, since there's been a lot of talk about last season and all that, I decided to mention the pundits' choice as MU's greatest rivals as a point of illustration. Sometime this week I'll launch the predictions thread and give a good summary of where I think Arsenal is going this season
