Why is Nairaland usually dull during weekends?
Because people don't have the benefit of using office wifi or internet to stay online forever. Other reason could be that people are f.u.cking.

having sex with an underage girl is rape , married or not . So u know . Because Nigeria careless for the girl child, don’t mean this rubbish laws make sense , since the wife can sue for sexual assault then it fine . But the saying that having sex with a girl who has started puberty because u hv married her isn’t rape . Is a demonic law.
What is a crime is marrying an under age girl. That's where you build from first. A person below 18 is not eligible to be married. I have not written what I think I wrote what the law is and even you choose to call it demonic, it is still the law. Have a good day sir.

This saying that no one can fight with government actually irks me. So government (which by the way is nebulous) has a right to perpetuate illegality just because it is government? As they say, in saner climes, you can contest with government, take your matter to court, get judgement and get the government to obey. This comment about the infallibility of government begs the question as to whether government is always right , which i honestly do not think is correct, well except in Nigeria.
Yes Muna,
She can.
It is called Marital Rape!

Marital rape is also known as spousal rape,
It is a non-consensual sex in which the perpetrator is the victim's spouse.
It is a form of partner rape, of domestic violence, and of sexual abuse.

There you have it above ma.

Lawyers in the house can shed more light on this from Nigeria law perspective.
Thanks.

Modify:
Some annoying and foolish comments you read on this forum sometimes, make you want to slap some people through the phone.
So because a man paid a woman's bride price gives him the right to rape her anytime he wants?
Na so una sisters husbands dey rape dem?
Foolish rapists everywhere,
Na so dem dey start!

We hit dem with the truths always, no wonder they always go mad.
Nuisances.
Rape as defined under the Nigerian Criminal Code law can not be sustained as between a married man and his wife. Even in the English Criminal law, that was the case but courts are beginning to find a basis of fixing guilt on a party who has not consented to sex even in the marital relationship

What is spousal rape? Does the Nigerian Law recognize spousal rape?

Also known as marital rape is the non-consensual sexual intercourse between a husband and his wife. As of today, spousal rape is not an offence in Nigeria and therefore cannot be a cause of action in the courts. The laws criminalising rape in Nigeria specifically provide that sexual intercourse between a husband and wife is not unlawful. Section 258 (3) of the CLL provides that Sexual intercourse between a man and a woman who are married is not unlawful. Likewise section 282 (2) of the PC which states that Sexual intercourse by a man with his own wife is not rape, if she has attained the age of puberty. The Criminal Code in its section 6 also defines unlawful carnal knowledge as a carnal connection which takes place otherwise than between husband and wife. Spousal rape is therefore not recognized in Nigeria until the laws are amended to reflect this. However, a spouse may succeed in a suit for sexual abuse or sexual assault against the spouse who perpetrates those acts.

It is not funny. It's sad. And truth be told, poverty is one of the reasons that has led them to be hawkers. How much profits do they realize at the end of the day? They should have been wise and moved on instead of wasting their precious goods.
Boss quite a while. I hope you are doing well and keeping safe. Back in the days in the ngrguardianroom.com chat room (way way back) if you recall.

On topic, some of those items being hawked are not even their personal wares. They collect on trust, sell and return the capital and share the profit with the person who gave them the wares. It is so sad that humans do not find a way of managing their emotions.

This is absolute wickedness and sheer impunity. I don’t know the underlying issues but this is a structure that can easily be removed to another place if they were given notice. It’s not a brick structure, but a detachable canopy-like structure.

So it’s must have been either politically motivated or as a revenge.
And what if they warned the church and they kept saying touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm?

Another Personal Experience

There was a time I had this Dream of House burning! It had this Dream about 3-5 times or there about! There was a day I Practically jumped up from my bed in the Morning with the smell of Gas from my Dream.. I came out checking everywhere to see what was burning! Like I said I had this Dream about 3-5 times on different days.
My Wife had similar dream about our house burning also. I knew this was a Message from God. I had to go into Prayers , Fastings, cancelling whatever the Plan of the devil was.

Within some Few weeks and Months things began to happen!

About 3-4 Houses around my place caught fire and were completely burnt down. In one of the houses close to me Their Gas Exploded and burnt the house down..

I knew it like my Name that This was a Clear diverted operation!

If there was no one to Stand in gap to pray , it would have definitely been my House!

The Spirtual Controls the Physical!

So what did they do wrong leading to their own houses getting burnt. They were more sinful?

There is wisdom in the suggestion. When I first applied for a licence, I recall being asked what I do and to show proof. The police then said some professionals like us could actually qualify. So responsibility could be ascribed to some people based on a number of yardsticks

Amotolongbo:
And what is the real definition of responsible citizens?

Majority of Nigerian citizens have been rendered irresponsible by the actions and activities of our leaders. I’m afraid to say sanity has almost eluded us in Nigeria.

Let us use our police as case study, aren’t they responsible enough before joining the force and handed guns?
After being handed guns, can you see how responsible they are now?
If you are not responsible enough to own and carry a gun, I am. Even the people you talked about have matchetes and other modes of killing themselves so it's not about guns. The robber in traffic will think twice if he believes another person may be carrying a gun in that traffic. The maurauders will not rob with reckless abandon if they know they may be repelled and lose lives too. When do you think government will curb the menace of banditry and BH? When we are all dead?
