Buying condoms in Nigeria has always been awkward since the days of rice and dodo grin
But i was buying Vitamin C for Covid prevention and one guy with tatoos all over came through to the pharmacy and shouted, give me Viagra....I did not look at him, others did not, he just collected, paid and left.

I guess in some areas we are not hypocritical after all.

If not that we are used to suffering in this part of the world, should as sensible government call this construction? Is this ROAD CONSTRUCTION?

Big stones that will end up puncturing car tires? Big stones that will leave the roads more damaged! Na e we dey call construction?

Who even do us like this for this country?

Come to ABEOKUTA NORTH! Nothing! Not a single DEVELOPMENT since the time of BABAGINDA.

And we have a Government! Dey invested more in PR and photography than in actuall work
And during election some buffoons will collect money, then seat around and drink beer after voting for a continuous perpetuation of this rape of our commonwealth.

Mr slapper....my comment was based strictly about the road up there....not the history of Ogun state roads....the roads you mentioned has been in deplorable state for more than 2 decades.....until the previous administration commissioned a half done Alagbole Akute bridge while abandoning the Akute lambe bridge project....so I know what am saying Mr slapper......my point is those critizing the palliative measures, misjudging it as a road construction project.

The guy you quoted is very correct. I am from there and I visit there at least 3 times every year (New year/Easter/New yam festival/Christmas and any other time that I have a need to).

Generally speaking though, Aros are not farmers so the issue of moving farm products does not quite arise. We buy from our neighbours who are mostly the ones that farm and this explains why that town is very expensive. Of course you will find few people who plant for personal consumption and they certainly move their products home as they know best.

Arochukwu town!

A travel to this local govt will make you weep for them do to chains of neglected bad road in need of urgent attention that seems to be coming from nowhere.

People did not know that so many towns in abia state have not witnessed asphalt roads before and such town are up to 65 percent of the state towns and villages.
Our roads are bad, admittedly so, but to say we never experienced asphalt is a white lie. I grew up seeing the last vestiges of good asphalt laid roads reportedly constructed in the era of Michael Okpara. Unfortunately government after government has continued to do nothing as far as roads are concerned.

You may wish to know that Arochukwu had telephone lines and pipe born water way back in the days (i used to call home from Unical before GSM came into existence in Nigeria). Mary Slessor brought Scottish impact to that ancient town

Having said that, the truth is we have fared badly with ourselves and even those in authority and for the avoidance of doubt, Arochukwu Kingdom has always had men of timber in the corridors of power. Infact in the era of PTF, the Director of programs working directly with Buhari is an Aro son. He could have single handedly added that project to whatever they were doing then. We have the likes of MAO Ohuabunwa who served several terms in the Houses, at the end of the day it is what it is. Where we have now graduated to is coming home with choppers as a sign of having arrived. The average Aro man has an SUV because of our bad roads. Our governors right from Orji Uzo Kalu through to the present Ikpeazu man are just there to chop.

I came from a very humble background, I lost my mum at age 12. My dad as at d time I gain admission to study law in d university had retired as a civil servant with ministry of works. While in school, I acquired all d knowledge and contacts I needed to b a successful lawyer. What most of us needed then in school was just d certificate of call to bar because I had gotten d requisite skill, knowledge n contact to b a successful lawyer.

Today, it paid off. I live in Kudang Street by Chinese restaurant opposite Banex plaza Wise 2 in my own house I bought. I also acquired a luxurious property in Asokoro, Gwagwalada, Wuye, Jabi and an estate along Kubwa recently. Back in my state, I have properties in choice areas in d state. I have no other job apart from law practice. All my acquisitions are proceeds from law practice.

If u don't make d best out of ur job, u will remain in poverty d rest of ur life. It has absolutely nothing to do with d profession rather an individual.

If a lawyer can't move a simple bail application in court, how can such a lawyer b successful subsequently? If a student doesn't take his or her studies seriously as a student, how can such a student b successful in that profession tomorrow? Make d best out of ur profession.
I am impressed. I share your testimony. I am a lawyer, i practiced for a while and joined corporate employment. I am modest enough to admit i have properties and currently live in one in Lekki. I have another i moved out from in the mainland. I have landed properties along airport road in Abuja, Calabar and built properties in my state Abia. Some dummies who have refused to work up the ladder are here uttering annoying gibberish. It is so annoying.

https://thenationonlineng.net/paris-club-refund-row-350m-fees-consultants/

Above is the link . Ned Nwoko and his collegues were actually owed $350 million for the case against Paris club. The amount to be returned was $3.5billion. What they did is arbitration. At that point a corporation or country has no choice than to pay the 10% required by an arbitration lawyer and keep their 90% or lose all.

Let's take Manchester City case at CAS for instance. If Man City can pay Sterling , De Brunye et Al, and even buy players for 250 million pounds, what makes you think the arbitration lawyer that defended Man City against UEFA lawyers won't get 10 million pounds for the case when all the money they used to purchase the players would have been wasted without an appearance at UEFA champions league in two years or relegation to League 1?

Lawyers get paid as much as 500million dollars for multibillion dollars arbitration cases. In fact the price is 10% like agency.

Law practice at that level is like sports agency. Your clients determine your pay. While the agents of Ronaldo and co are paid in 8 figures, the agents of Sunshine United players are paid in 4 figures.

It's not charge and bail. If house/real estate agents at Lekki do not joke with their 10% what makes you think that high level arbitration lawyers will joke with their 10% after years of education and proficiency?
Bros you sef you have the time to argue and contribute to this worn out argument. Ignorant people do not know that there are lawyers employed in various sectors of the economy. All they think about lawyers is the fact of being an advocate. They do not have the brain power to know that lawyers are also solicitors and make huge amounts from that alone. They are ignorant of the fact that every company is under an obligation to employ a company secretary and in at least 90% of the times, it is lawyers that mann that position. I mean the likes of NNLG/MTN/All the Banks/NNPC/ All the telecom companies, endless opportunities.

I am so sick and tired of dumb fo.ols coming to discuss lawyers and their profession. Please tell me that a fresh Doctor gets a job automatically in this country or even an engineer.

It is even a lawyer as a professional who can start making money from day one by standing around the courts as they claim. Where will an economist stand? in the market place? Where will an engineer stand? By the road side or under the bridge? Where will a Doctor stand? If it was that easy for all other professions, why are they leaving Nigeria in droves.

Failed people are just there looking for reasons to perpetuate their failure.

I am proudly a lawyer and in my next world (if there is a thing such as that) I will still be a lawyer.

In all cases, take a stand and take responsibility. People should stop inundating us with their failed attempts at either qualifying as lawyers or being serious enough to make something out of the profession.

If they cant make it as a lawyer, they will not make it as any other professional. You cannot give what you do not have. Never.

Autopsy will ascertain scenero behind it. Like indirect food or water poisoning, or self direct poisoning. It can also reveal her last mood before taking the poison, whether forcefully or willfully. If forcefully or direct food/water poisoning, the culprit is her husband because his hastened decision to bury her against her family and traditional rules is suspicious.

But it is hard to cheat autopsy these days because blood is a physical testifier of what we do and what happens to us.

Blood speaks and tech science hears.. This is the scientific mystery between the blood of Abel and omniscience God who hears. For this purpose, God created techs for us.

In my opinion, I think it's no longer as lucrative as it used to be and it's a very sorry situation. A lot of lawyers roaming the streets, they are suffering. Some of the many problems are

1. Too many graduates, little job slots

2. Senior colleagues are not ready to give the younger ones a chance

Most lawyers are "charge and bail" . They roam the streets and advertise their services to potential clients and they don't even have a place to call office. Many of them loiter in court premises all day under the hot sun and await the arrival of the police, hoping that the police would bring some accused persons who do not have lawyers to defend them. The moment this happens, the lawyer would approach the accused (usually agberos, louts and unfortunate Nigerians who the police had decided to transfer his frustrations on. ) and offer his service either directly to the accused persons, or through his relatives or friends who followed him to court. After a certain meagre fee is paid. The lawyer will appear before the magistrate and orally apply for bail, which in most cases would be granted if the offence(s) is a bailable one.

Being a lawyer in today's Nigeria is overrated, studying in school for 5 years to become a lawyer is a waste of time. To me it's more meaningful if used as a part time job while you venture into business or entrepreneurship.
Even this argument and conversation is overated. Do whatever makes you happy and take responsibility.

This opinion is from a charge and bail lawyer, no wonder he couldn't secure his client release.
Nigeria law forbids impersonation even online regardless of the purpose of the impersonation.

But the bail is too high for the poor boy who only wanted some attention.
His lawyer should reapply for bail adjustment.
His lawyer can go to the same court for a review of the bail terms or approach another court or as last resort go on appeal .

But all these children sef. So you must impersonate to be recognized. They will just be looking for wahala everywhere
Education › Re: If You Get This Question, You Are A Critical Thinker. by hardbody: 3:21pm On Jul 17, 2020
the question is asking how many people are in the room, regardless of whether they are alive or dead. Whether someone is alive or dead, they are still a person, therefore the correct answer is 35.

There is an alternative answer that depends on the way i choose to interpret the question. The fact that there are 34 people in the bedroom is stated after the statement that you’ve entered the bedroom. Therefore, someone could assume that there are 34 people in the bedroom only after you’ve entered. In that case, the answer would be 34.

If you disagree with me, argue with your ancestors
