Seun does nothing about it because it generates traffic for him to make money and it's a shame! There's no other platform I know of that fuels hate and tribalism as much as nairaland does. Even at that, the site remains as mundane as it's always been, no changes at all. Seun and those idiots that fuels tribalism, hate and every ills here should be ashamed of themselves!
southniyikaye:
Over the years, tribalist have ruled nairaland and seun is doing nothing about it...
They've turned everything into either tribalism, politics or bigotry...
There are some things which the government should be chastised for but instead, we either politicize it or turn it into tribalism.
The government sees and knows these things that's why they treat us as they like cos they believe we can't do anything and when we try to talk, they turn us against each other using tribalism or bigotry cos they know those are some of the things most people are proud of..

I southniyikaye will never be a tribalist..

Health / Re: Third Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Lagos by Harvigh(m): 11:46am On Mar 17, 2020
What this govt is doing by leaving our airspace and bothers is endangering the lives of millions of Nigerians all in the name of being on top of the situation. Even countries with working health systems have closed their airspace and bothers but this useless govt choosed to leave ours open because our Blackman mentality makes us naively believe we can handle the situation. Even our neighbors Ghana and Benin republic are shutting down, yet Buhari and his silly minnions are playing with our collective safety. Lagos State govt should force Buhari's hand to shutbdown because if it continues like this, Wuhan would be a joke; but then again, Sanwo Olu would definitely not want to disrespect Buhari because he's a very loyal minion. I'm not praying for evil but this is just what might happen if we continue like this

Foreign Affairs / Re: How The British Press Reported On Meghan And Harry by Harvigh(m): 3:07am On Jan 21, 2020
You mean she should have allowed the monarchy dictate how her own wedding should have played out simply because like you surmised there was already a tradition in place that dictates how things should be done? What makes you think Kate didn't effect changes to the so called tradition on her wedding?
If you followed British media, you would understand what the OP pointed out.
Call it whatever you want it doesn't change the fact that its pure racism and hate that they have towards Meghan. Folks like Piers Morgan didn't hide their hatred for her at all and that goes to show you how deep it runs.
crackkhaus:

Surely you must realize that when people don't like you, it really won't matter if you're doing nothing wrong, they would still find a way to make you look bad.

The bias against Meghan was watered by none other but herself. You can see one of the articles you posted called her 'dictatorial', they may not be far from the truth.

I followed the whole ruckus leading up to their wedding in 2018 up until the wedding itself. You should not take my word for it though, you could make some findings on your own regarding just how much she tried to break almost every protocol regarding how the wedding should go.
A lot of things were changed/altered just to accommodate her preferences - from the flower choices, to the aisle leading up to the alter that was made wider because it's what she wanted, etc.. There was a lot more which I can't even recall off the top of my head.

Now no one is saying she couldn't have creative control over her own wedding, but when you marry into a monarchy that has a certain way of doing things in keeping with age-long traditions as old as her own ancestors, then she probably should have simmered down a little. She got what she wanted most of the time because the monarchy were happy enough to make Diana's little boy happy, but she took it too far and got used to it.
After the wedding, she kept trying to get them to do things her way and most of the time she would get it, but guess what, the British people only resented her for it because she was now effectually implying that their ways of doing things was not good enough for her, her own way was better...it wasn't just an emotional bride trying to make her wedding day perfect anymore, this was a woman who had no respect for the Monarchy and its ways. She confirmed what they already suspected and gave oxygen and water to the bias already working against her. And to make it worse, she was not even that big a celebrity in Hollywood in the first place.

This kind of resentment will obviously make them troll her at every given opportunity...no one holds a grudge more than the British.

If say, a single never divorced well brought-up Beyoncé (still black and American) was the one who married into the royal family, she may even get a softer landing than Meghan. If a Beyoncé DIL wanted the Queen MIL to dance single ladies inside Buckingham Palace, she may have gotten away with it, just because she is a Beyoncé. Get my point?

Meghan already had everything working against her from the start - previous failed marriage, dysfunctional family set-up, being biracial, and an American actress (not even an A-list, which may have been a plus). The least she could have done to warm her way into the hearts and minds of the British people, is to at least appear that she gave a shit about the way things are done.

I'm NOT sorry to type this, but I will because it is what it is:
Meghan did not do Windsor a favor by marrying Harry, Windsor in fact did her a favor by allowing her become a part of their family and she should have acted accordingly and not take a mile when given an inch.

It's what it is.

Clubkonnect Hello @clubkonnect247 I purchased a 2gb data yesterday 5/1/2020 using your mobile app and my wallet was debited and it showed from m transaction history that it was a successful transaction even though I didn't receive the data. I first called your customer care and the lady that I spoke with said it was successful and I should call MTN to Lodge a complaint. I called MTN customer care today and was told there was nothing in my sme data balance. I called back and the lady that spoke to me again was so rude to the point of dropping my call. The people that spoke with me when I called MTN made it clear to me that you guys should be the ones to call them to Lodge a complaint and not me. This isn't fair at all.
I can send you the affected number via DM if you want.
Bellow are screenshots of my account and data balance.

The Kogi state elections will remain the safest and most credible election ever to hold in Nigeria in very recent times.

I'm proud of the security agencies who did not interfere in the process.
Also proud of the indigenes who conducted themselves in proper manner all through it.

The turnout of voters was out of this world and the seamless operations of the INEC was very stellar.

Come on Kogi state, let's see a repeat on the 30th.
All hands must be on deck to ensure that the only iron is removed from our rubber stamp.

Pure Democracy is here to stay..
This new electoral progress we've made has further taken us into the stone age of authoritarian hopelessness.

Nairaland as a forum is today the most welcoming place for tribalism and ethnicism. Everyday, I see obvious comments by tribalistic idiots bashing themselves and calling other tribes that aren't theirs the most despicable names you can think of. Being called an afonja, Igbo and other despicable names is now the order of the day on nairaland and SEUN and his MODs DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT because in my opinion, things of that nature help them generate more traffic.
Nigeria as it is today is already as divided as it can possibly be and if this phenomenon is left unchecked on nairaland, it might get out of hand and everyone would be trading blames.
SEUN, please do something about trabalism on Nairaland, I beg of you. This is a very nice forum for Nigerians and trust me, the whole world sees what we're doing here.
Thank you.

Reminds me of a group I joined on facebook and how a girl, a teenager posted in the group about fighting depression and needing help. Some of the comments were bashing the girl and being spiritual about the whole thing and it really broke my heart. I reached out to her via messenger but she told me when didn't want to talk about it and I respected her decision. I felt I could have had a talk with her concerning the situation because I've been depressed and I defeated it. Most people thing depression is just a lazy excuse or spiritual thing but it's more than that. Most depressed people simply need someone that would give them a listening ear even if you can't offer a physical solution. I wonder how many times this young man had tried talking to someone about his situation but got turned down and he decided to end it all.
Depression is real but suicide is never an option please, it's difficult finding someone that understands your situation but trust me, there's someone out there that do. May God help any depressed person out there find their feet.

Dude, Nigeria doesn't need to arse lick or fall for bullies by the US because we get aid from them. We're a sovereign nation and should be able to take rational stand when we need to and this is one stand I'm proud of my country for.
NwaAmaikpe:

So why didn't Nigeria attend it?
I wish the US can place sanctions on Nigeria for boycotting such a historic event.
I also wish the United Nations can declare Nigeria a Pariah state.

Buhari won't hesistate to attend events in Saudi Arabia or Iran.
Nigeria will send representatives to worthless games hosted by the Organization of Islamic countries so why can't he honour Israel or the US?

The world catches cold when the US sneezes.
Nigeria can not afford not to show loyalty to Israel or the USA unless she doesn't risk giving the world the impression that she is obviously led by a Palestinian-sympathetic jihadist.

Suicide is one the rise and could happen to anyone no matter your religion or background because Nigerians lack empathy.

Employer doesn't have empathy for employee, government doesn't have empathy for its citizens, religious leaders don't have empathy for their congregation.

But now only show love to two sets of people: if you can benefit them sexually and if you are deemed to be influential or a rich family.
