As an Anambra indigene, I'm worried about the direction of Nairaland & her members.

This is the 5th page of this thread and it was as if the original intention of the thread, which was to showcase Oba as a growing town, has descended to comparison with the west and the North.
Dear Ndigbo, inasmuch as I've noticed everything in this thread has degenerated to cruise, do we really need it? For how long should we continue all these nonsensical comparisons when we still have a long way to go?

Anambra is a great state blessed with great people.
But we're still far off from where we're supposed to be. In my opinion, despite every blessed people that has come out of Anambra, the state is not as special as advertised. You'll know this if you've travelled to many states in this country.
We have a long way to go. For me, if we're not competing with Lagos, which I consider the standard till further notice, every bragging is a waste of time.

Let's all strive for permanence and top top quality.

May God bless us all.
God bless Anambra.
God bless Soludo's administration.

I come in Peace.

Run for your life.
Na same person dey reply you all this while.
You will be required to sign and take oath never to tell anyone about the company.
You wanted my attention? You have it now.

Like I said, I was into it before. Deep.
And I had an edge because I type well and know how to get creative in my replies. But then I found Jesus and I quit. Scour the Internet and you'll likely see vacancies from companies.
American companies even pay as high as $0.20 per message but you'll never get employed by them.
The 0.05 you're seeing is a watered down rate from Eastern European countries or from Filipinos. Countries that are suffering.

Think before you type.

something very similar happened to me and to tell the truth it was not funny,a Catholic priest friend of mine that manages many earthen fish ponds along the omgho river in anambra state called me that a crocodile is trapped in one of the nets in the ponds, that I should mobilize hunters so we can drag it out and butcher,so I did as he said and brought few brave hunters armed with guns and Cutlass,we tied a rope to the net and tied it to a Toyota Tacoma pickup and dragged the reptile out,I have watched countless animal documentries on DStv about crocodiles but I am not prepared for the reality of what happened next, the size of the animal was later measured at 18 ft and the truck dragged out an angry reptile that rushed us,the saving Grace was the entangled net, both priest,me and hunters everybody dropped their guns and ran away, the size of the creature itself is a shock to everybody that we didn't stop running till we are half kilometer away,I now doubt what I see these days on television, that croc was the length of 3 very tall adult human beings lying on a straight line
OMG!
This happened in Nigeria?
If yes, what state?

If they paid 0.05 (euros) per message, 100 messages give you 5 (euros).

A job that always recruit almost every time in my opinion is not good...something must be pursuing former employees away
It's because there are boundless opportunities.
The job is about sending messages to mostly different randy men.
The more they send messages, the more there's a need for more people to reply to those messages.
Sometimes there're hundreds of messages lying in wait for people to respond to and not everyone is working at the same time.
So depending on the company, you'll always have messages to reply to.

Done it before but I followed Jesus more and knew I couldn't do it no more. Couldn't continue feeding my eyes with sexual stuff anymore and couldn't continually respond to sexually explicit messages.
Had to quit - despite some thousands of messages that was unpaid for.

Grandpa's burial I came to Benin in attendance with some few friends ( was still in school then) So sitting in my canopy mumsy done already direct food and drinks full everywhere. I thought she would be too busy that night but she saw the big jumbo and as I was dragging in weed smoke our eyes locked.
Me: shocked
Her: disappointed
As she was coming towards me I just had to pass it to the back of the canopy and knowing she had already seen me smoking I asked my guys to pass me Benson which she eventually saw with me.
She: so u smoke
Me : momsy abeg... mumbling
She: quickly pressed Tom Tom in my palms and walked away leaving me to explain to myself. I too go love that woman sha grin

Popsy knows I drink and smoke but has never seen me smoke. One time after secondary school I got so drunk that I came home straight to bed. Imagine this man no see another person to lock the gates na me him dey find. Well he came to my room, saw my condition with vomit as evidence... them no tell am to close my door. The next couple of weeks na lecture on alcohol. I dread popsy's talk pass police cell. U go frustrate grin
Wow, interesting.

We were in primary 5 when we saw condom in our teacher's cupboard. He was a young bachelor then, I think he was still schooling part time even. He was a dashing young man and he do receive female friends after closing hours. We knew because we do extra coaching. I liked him because he was a good teacher, strict disciplinarian, yet loving. He do make hot tea for the entire class when the weather is cold and he loved us, boys and girls, like his own. In short, we were free with him; even back then when you dare not look at your teacher in the face.

It was that freedom that led us to his cupboard that day, dunno what we were searching for in particular before we stumbled on the CD. In our curiosity, we opened the seal and we were so thrilled to see a new kind of balloon. We took our balloon straight to the school tap and were more thrilled because as we filled it with water, it got bigger. We were cheering ourselves on and pouring the water from the balloon on ourselves. There were fewer people in school at the time, only extra mural teachers and their pupils. It was at this time he came back from wherever. He might have felt embarrassed but in our innocence we didn't see that. He just took charge. "Enough play time, get back to class and settle down!"

He never told us what it was, he just told us not to touch this kind of balloon again. I was to find out on my own years, many, many years later.

As for those things OP listed, I am a good girl. I have been from way back so no catching me with exhibits grin
I like how he was calm in handling the situation.

Late 2000s...

1. Mumsi saw a nylon of condoms in my back pocket that was shared at someone's birthday. Left it in my jean back pocket for days without a care in the world and even forgot about it.
The next time I saw it was during Christmas in the village. She saw it, took it, and travelled with it to the village during Christmas to tell her people.

2. Woke up in the middle of the night to notice my mumsi singing Christian songs and lamenting. I checked and couldn't find my phone.
Apparently, I was watching porn and slept off. She came back, saw it and... Omo. She didn't wake me. But soon as I woke up I knew I had screwed up.
It was a bad porn cos the lady was using her genitals to smoke a cigarette. Mumsi must've seen it. She seized the phone and wouldn't give me back.
I seized her phone till she released it.
It was a sad situation.

Not just dualising roads, the single lane roads should be maintained, repaired and well marked.
Flyovers are needed.
A lot of roads need uplifting. We need beautiful, quality road infrastatcuture with the accompanying street lights, traffic lights and lane markings.
Flowers planted alongside wouldn't be bad. These are things that give a state modern city looks.

There should be a law or executive order stopping the building of roads with open drianinges.
Almost all roads in Anambra have open drianinges.
These are things that need to be urgently worked on.
Spot on!
I wish there'll be a need to expand some narrow roads too.
Like the Nnewi-Nnobi road. Too narrow for me.
And then that street light is more than important.

You go dey waka for night, everywhere go just dey peach black.

embarassed

This reminds me of one of our "mother goat" as we named her back then.

I was sitting somewhere when she walked in, usually she loves lying down whenever she returns to her sleeping place, but that day the goat refused to lay down.

She stood and was just staring at me and I kept wondering what she was up to. I drove her but she refused to leave, threatened to pour water on her still she refused to leave.

Instinctively I walked up to her and looked under her stomach lol and behold a wicked fellow stuck 3 niddles under her stomach. I pulled them out, immediately she just lay down.

Last last the day we killed that goat the oil full 1 custard rubber.
Jeez! NEEDLES? Omo, that's mean ọ. Did you find that person?
When you say oil, what do you mean?
