I've been having this same issue for the past one week and have reached my breaking point. I have applied salt and water but it seemed to work for like 5 minutes and the pain resurfaces with vigor. I just booked a dentist's appointment this afternoon but still concerned about the overall cost as well as any potential surgical procedure. I just hope things don't get complicated than this. I just need relief - even for a day...

Update!!!
So, after careful consideration, I opted to honor my dental appointment and the following were the diagnosis and solution.

Basically, my tooth has a hole that has deteriorated to the point of affecting the nerves(pulp) and this was the cause of the frequent pain and swelling.

I was given two options;
One - Root extraction, that is the total removal of the tooth, which cost about 6k

Two - Root canal treatment (Rct). This is the treatment made to the root of the affected tooth without loss or removal of the tooth itself but just the nerve that causes the pain and this cost about 35k.

I opted for RCT. The process has three stages and the dentist was able to complete the first one within 30 minutes.

I'm feeling slight pains from the injection I was given so eating is not much fun for now.

Just monitoring the healing process for now so I will give updates on any changes.

That's good to hear. After the rct, I guess it'll be patched up or filled abi?
Because the hole has to be covered, isn't it?

I have removed 2 teeth already and I have read alot concerning dental health.
You mentioned "Spasm" Wich also contributed to me opening an account.

Now brother, if you keep having tooth problems of all forms, while looking for a dental solution I would strongly advise you go for a blood sugar test as consistent tooth PROBLEMS are signs of DIABETES.
Dont take this lightly pls.

Again, I would advise you not to remove your tooth, if it can be refilled fine, all you need to do is continous maintenance. Our teeth needs to be maintained like we maintain our body.

You've got a point, to be honest.
My paternal family have a history of diabetes, and in one form or the other, they've had tooth problems that has even extended to next generations.
So many next generation like myself have done extractions, etc.
I have two extractions, have 2 artificials, 2 rcts, numerous fillings, etc.
In hindsight, I feel a lack of proper care as a child by parents/guardians might've exacerbated it.
Parents should ensure they check their children's teeth from time to time.

But I'm concerned you said he shouldn't extract. How does he alleviate the pain?
Would a positive test and treatment of diabetes help out?

I had tooth aches as well since 2016z The 1st 2 years was extremely terrible but I was advised not to remove it to avoid infections spreading to other parts of the remaining tooth. I used different toothpaste it didn’t work. I had to switch to warm water and salt every single day and I’m still using it till now. I have a whole in my tooth and smell comes out from there in the morning before brushing. The � doesn’t pain me anymore except when there are particles of food inside the hole. I’ll advise you try the warm water and salt every morning and night. It worked for me it might work for you too.

Tooth ache no be your mate. I used to suffer from it way back and when it starts eeh, e go wan make me mad.

It comes with headache, ear ache etc.

The pain woke me up one night and I didn't have any pain reliever in the house. It was unbearable.

The pain was killing me and there was no help in sight so in desperation I applied aboniki on the place I was feeling the pain. Both inside and outside.

Surprisingly the pain started reducing and that was the last time I had tooth ache.

Agu is leopard not Lion. Agu is what igbos call "big Cat" the only big cat that terrorize Nigerians then was Leopard. That's why your security symbols are named after leopard. We and they family had peacefully settled the issue. The police played a significant role in having the matter settled. Manslaughter is a baillable offence, and the dead victim family quickly recognized that we re not push over, neither are they bullied that they cannot do anything.
We came as a family that have great value on human life as Jehovah's witnesses and could understand their deep pain, and the guilt conscience our son will carry, though now he is undergoing psychiatric care.
We agreed to cater for all the burial expenses as the family demanded.
Our family agreed to pay her mother, her one year salary as comfort, quarterly starting from March to her mother this was out of the ears of other family members because she was a widow and has been remitted.
She was buried on the 18th March 2022.
Note: This may not turn out same way for other people. Neither will you expect any other Jehovah's witness to do as we did, but they will always be on the side of peace because we highly regard any human life as sacred irrespective of tribe, nation or color.
