Christianity Etc › Re: Catholic Church Suspends Rev James Anelu For Banning Igbo Songs In Parish by Hausa(m): 11:14am On Feb 08, 2022
flokii:
That's because some people don't respect boundaries or respect their hosts... How will you go to a church where the priest is not Igbo, doesn't speak or understand the language and start singing chorus in it. What happened to English or the local language in the area which is Yoruba?

I'm sure the non-Igbos there met with the priest to express their displeasure over the turn of events in the church which prompted that statement credited to him. For God sake, people should respect boundaries and respect their hosts.
You're not a Catholic so you're incapable of understanding how things are run there.

But let me ask you.
Put yourself as a priest, and church members came to make this complaint to you.
In your God given wisdom, education, and holy spirit-filled mind, what will you do?

Hit it straight to the head that he screwed up and screwed up big time.

Dsalvo:
Lol. Can you Igbos ever act educated and refined? So you have a crystal ball to read beyond what is written to somehow link Yorubas with this?

Father James Anelu has a problem with Igbo "excesses" and somehow it is Yorubas that put him up to it?

You Igbos will never heal to be better loved and accepted by fellow Nigerians because when Nigerians complain of your "excesses" the first thing you do is attack them and point fingers of blame eslewhere. Preferably at Yorubas.
He mentioned minority, you mentioned Yoruba.
But let's say he mentioned Yoruba, what was going to be your response?

Your response ended up being the same thing you were trying so hard to run from. You want to avoid it, but you can't because out of the abundance of the heart, what happens?
In the end, are we not all the same?
May God give us wisdom and show us mercy.

Thanks boss..

Pls explain the bolded part pls.
It helps so you can get familiar with stuffs. You'll build relationships too.

If after 100L, you feel it makes no sense to be in the hostel, then consider staying off campus.
Education › Re: After 5 Years Of Trying, I've Been Admitted Finally by Hausa(m): 5:46pm On Feb 01, 2022
Congrats, op.
Waited five years before getting admitted myself.
Postume do me strong thing.
I thank God he showed mercy.

Read and study well before your test. Take it very seriously. Read and study for your exams weeks before it commences. Take it seriously, too.
Read other things for the purpose of enlightenment, do sports/exercises, have a girlfriend if possible, buy your own food stuff and cook them.
Be independent. All this gimme this, give me milk, pour me small garri, e no fresh at all. Only do it when you know for your heart sey e no dey, not that you'll be saving money for girls and clothes, while begging others for food.
Know God, Love Him, and fear Him. Let Him guide you in all things.

Be smart and don't joke with past questions. Keep your ears on the ground and be open to learning.
And most importantly, if you have the mind, stay in the school hostel for your 100L. E get why.

God bless you and give you the courage to push on till the end.

Good day Nlander's

Last year December, my senior colleague at work complained that her leg is always itchy and discovered she had a not too visible injury on that leg. Currently the situation has gotten worse as the injury is expanding and contains pus.

She is currently at UCH ibadan and the doctors there are suggesting amputation. The family is so devastated right now and are seeking for alternative means.

NB: she is diabetic.
Oh, no. Had a strong feeling she's diabetic before scrolling to where you put it.
Has she not been taking her insulin shots regularly?
