Next time, don't just jumped into a conversation like a fool. We were talking about early World cup n few games with facts.

Your folly brain couldn't come up with a superior argument, that is, 6 matches for 1930 world cup finalists.

Kiddo, run along and swim in your folly
shut your stinking mouth, i'm not your mate in any way... angry

i quoted you with world cup facts...
you choose to ignore it...

tell me why you're so pained about the first world cup 1930.... no footballer from 1930 is still alive, pele wasn't even born in 1930....

you dont want to address the point of 2026 playing more games than this present world cup,.... huh

idont quote me again if you have nothing else to say, else you'll regret your life, i will deal with you...

because i'm laughing with you doesnt mean , we're on same level, rubbissh...

One game difference?

You must be foolish

Check 1930 World cup stat

Group stage>>Semi final>>final

Some groups had 3 teams, that's 2 games at group stage instead of 3
same will happen in the champions league group matches will increase from 6 to 10... so that means this current one will become mini and 2024 ucl will become too difficult to win according to you... grin grin grin

you're the foolish one here.. grin grin Dont you know football federation is always experimenting with different format, you don't expect the format to remain the same, that the format changes doesnt mean its now harder to win...

in 1930, 3 teams back down, so they played 5 matches, that's just 2 match difference...

however later it was adjust to 6 matches..

in 2026, it will be 8 matches, and each group will have just 3 teams , just like in 1930..

so that means this world cup will become mini world cup, and it will become harder to winhuh....dont be a coward explain this part and dont dodging it...ode grin grin

Don't mind them

The first three world cups, I don't think the winner played up to five matches to get to the final
You're just as dumb as the poster...

Bro it's quite notable that as every competition progresses more teams are given space...

Back then it was 6 games
now it's 7 games just one game difference...
next world cup the winner will play 8 games

by then this world cup will become mini world cup to upcoming fans... grin grin

The same thing will happen to the UCL... number of matches will increase from 2024...

So watch your mouth grin grin

This is where you people get it all wrong, goals only doesn't make someone a better player, if not ronaldo would have been the king of the world with all his goals. Both mbape and halland are making the same mistake ronaldo made focusing on only scoring goals forgetting about the playmaking, even at Messi's age he can't be benched for mbape or halland, because he is a complete footballer. At mbape and halland age Messi have already carried the champions league, la liga, copa de rey, and also won World best/balon d'or.

For over a decade now Messi has maintained goal scoring ability, assist ability, playmaking ability, dribbling ability, passing ability. He is just a complete player.
Bro you've changed the topic.. you said it's was easier to win world cup then than now.. because of no var grin

if no VAR Argentina goals would have been very many, let's use the match against Saudi Arabia as an example, without VAR all of them would have counted as goals.

With VAR that Maradona's celebrated "hand of god" would have earned him straight Red card and some match ban.

Football was easier in the olden days, now they are playing against Man and technology. In the olden days the penalty awarded to France wouldn't happen.
What of all the penalities awarded to Argentinos.. ode, you dodge that one.. grin next world cup, all referees will be robots and ai.

Football will become tougher, and this world cup will be termed too easy...by kids..

What has mbape and halland achieved compared to Messi?.

Maradona scored it and it stood, please what happened when Messi did same.
Boy mbappe and halaand are still young... They had more goals at 21 than Messi and CR7 combined at same age despite playing in var era..

At mbappe and halaand age, they had very little achievement...

And yes Messi goal with his hand in 2007 stood, just like maradona the referee didn't see it..check it up .. grin grin grin

The way you guys hype this var thing... You easily forget that it was created in just 2018.... And Messi scored a lot of goals and won lots of trophies without it..

Let me also remind you mbappe and halaand started their career with var... While Messi didn't so that means he played a more easier football compared to halland and mbappe .. grin

Maradona scored with hands, that same goal was also replicated by messi grin

The first World Cup Final I watched was in 1978 Argentina vs Holland but this final Argentina vs France is the greatest of all finals.

A Six goals thriller of a game at 3 goals a piece. It was not a game to miss and watch live. It was tension soaked. You can see passion and commitment in the eyes of the two teams.

Tactical changes by the coaches really made the game spectacular.

Messi and Mbappe are world class players no doubt.

Op you're very wrong on this.
I'm a medical student and a senior developer. I won't boost about my capabilities, I've work with bending spoon ( a popular coding company in Milan, Italy), I'm a Nigerian so please don't say Nigerians are lazy again!

Spending 12+ hrs a day without good income is a waste. Are you learning or you're working for a company? Myself I barely sleep 3-4hrs a day, so do your calculations you'll see in 24hrs what I invest the time on. Medical and coding!
Can you combine medical school with programming? It's like sucide, so don't ever mention Nigerians are lazy.
For me i do it because first, "passion" in medical field, and second, because of my "needs". Medical school won't give me the money I want in life, infact medical student are one of the most poorest people in the world because they invest all of their time studying unending medical courses while digital guys are cashing out on daily basis.

Programming and anything tech is like drug, oil and blood money. It doesn't have limit. Right now I'm doing project for masters degree student who came to me for assistance and willing to pay what I demand.
In fact, in the whole of Africa, Nigerians are the most hardworking people, reason they do very well once they step out of the country. America, Europe, Asia and other African countries employ more Nigerians than any other black country. You hardly see a professor from South Africa, Cameroon, Egypt or Kenya teaching in foreign countries. You also hardly see their doctors In foreign countries. But check well, any institutions or hospital abroad you see a black lecturer and a doctor, it's likely he/she is a Nigerian.

Despite restrictions etc, till-date USA,UK, South Africa, Europe.... are still employing Nigerians and no limit. The same is in business, Nigerians excel. Reason the xenophobic in SA because Nigerians once they see opportunities dig in and they invite their brothers to join them. This from experience differentiate us from other African countries who don't love their brothers outside the continent . But if a Nigerian see a follow Nigerian abroad, brother what's up ... they'll identify, before you know connection and both of them are into same job. If you quote me wrong, check in any company outside, you'll see not 1 Nigerian but many of them. So OP Mr programmer, Nigerians are not lazy it's the government who made people to look as if they're lazy. Nigeria is rising. Here in Canada they're many.

I suppose you are still a child who have enough time and still leaves with his mama, you are being fed and clothed, you don't worry about rent, that's why you can come here on nairaland to call Nigerians lazy, there are tons of programmers in Nigeria. I know this because I am a programmer too, but I don't judge people who cannot learn, I've tutored students on programming in the past and I tell you that there are so many factors that affect their learning curve, most of my students who do well are the ones with no responsibilities, undergraduate students and corpers

I don't expect you to understand, I think you are still a kid.
for your info, i feed my self too and pay my rent. and face many health challenges but that doesn't stop me from learning programming,..so cut that crap and stop saying what you don't know...

I never said nigerians are lazy, did i huh

i said they're unserious and too complacent including you angry,

that's why they cant compete with their counterparts in indians, it has nothing to do with paying rent, or you think programmers in india don't pay rent...

this is another problem with nigerians, not accepting criticism but instead looking for what to blame and is one thing holding them back... sad

Programming isn't that difficult, most Nigerian science graduates can easily learn it if given the basic things they need, coding isn't harder than a semester in Engineering/maths/physics and the likes
There is no place in indian that has 24 hours electricity.

10 years ago indian was the poverty capital of the world and way worse than Nigeria but they still produce programmers 10x better than Nigeria programmers.

What are you even saying? You think you're the only one who is discipline enough to learn programming? Nigerians are not lazy people,
Things are difficult for a lot of people and most people do not have 12H to spend looking at the laptop learning to code.

People need to make money in other to feed and pay for rent, not everyone is living with their parents and have the time to stare at a screen for 12H.

There is also the problem of electricity and money to buy laptop. For others, while trying to learn how to code, they keep working about money and where their next meal will come from. How do you expect them to focus and be able to learn properly?

Stop comparing Nigerians with people in Canada and US who have the basic things in life, most Nigerians do not.
stop that.. indians are not better off than nigerians in terms of electricity and standard of living. but because the people are serious, they achieved a lot and way ahead of nigeria in coding.

like you said most nigerians are only concerned about what they'll eat hence feel learning anything complicated is a waste of time, they'll rather get into scams to make quick money.. grin

“Should mathematicians be worried about the digital calculator?

Nope. It helps to calculate the minutia more quickly allowing their brains to focus on the more difficult aspects of equations.

This may help you to nail that async function you just can't seem to figure out and slow you to focus your time on the more human aspects of the job.”

And it makes a lot of sense. ChatGPT is just a tool much like Google is a tool. It will allow devs to focus on the more complicated high level stuff such as program design leaving the mundane low-level of writing actual code to something that can be automated
