Coronavirus84: First class is cheap in private universities indeed First class is not cheap anything, private universities simply have more conducive environment for learning and it's students are far cool headed than their public university counterparts. The curriculum is basically the same but private university lecturers are usually more grounded in their fields. |

I know Pharaoh is a title but the known king with it spoilt whatever is good in that name already.
To me, it's like answering Judas I hear a lot of people bear the name in Egypt. Not all Pharaohs were bad though, many good ones existed that weren't spoken of in the Bible. |

OnlyDeCapPlease: It seems Nigerians like to be slaves to foreigners, in our own land, to foreigners from other parts of Africa and overseas. We tolerate and excuse them a lot. We reserve our anger and self pride for our fellow Nigerians. Not all Nigerians are like that though, only some tribes inherited that slave-master mentality. There's however an urgent need to inculcate tenets of resourcefulness, self-discipline, and independent thinking into younger and upcoming generations if we're to rid ourselves of these neo-colonialists. |

DuduParaPara: And what happens if the workers decide to leave the work?
If the work conditions are not favorable and the pay isn't worth it then leave the job.
No job in the country, no job in the country, does not mean you should kill yourself.
If the workers team up and say enough is enough, the companies will sit up.
Just that there must be one or two Judas that will betray the rest. Facts! Life is too transient to spend it wasting away like that |

He wanted to sign a document but she insisted that he must wear his tie before she allows him anywhere near the document.. And the baba insisted that he must sign the document as him don already dress up come.., na so them begin drag. Since when did knotting tie become compulsory before signing a document? Some women can be very vindictive over mundane things. Besides the guy's room might be on the top floor of the hostel & climbing that staircase to go and wear tie can be very stressful especially if he's asthmatic. What's there in just allowing him sign and go? She has had the guy in mind before, their beef didn't just start. |

Those female lecturers can find the flimsiest of excuse to embarrass you, especially when they notice there are many girls around watching & if you check it, he's probably not the only student in the office that's not wearing tie. I'm sure she's even the one that hit the guy first. Seen where guys dey beat hostel porter gan, so it's nothing new! |

evanstinobbc: The corruption in Nigeria is no longer a news, rather its official in Nigeria, from embezzling of funds, budget padding, it goes on and on, roads in Nigeria is the most expensive but the worst in quality. This country need to start afresh to eridicate this shame, its no longer acceptable. The country really needs a fresh start, a total overhauling, but these old politicians can't make that happen, not in this digital age. But we could use some help from the diaspora, there are lots of intelligent Nigerians working overseas that can provide valuable insights on how to effectively manage the economy. If we bring in those brains and put them in key sectors, you'll see the economy improve. I'm saying this because the calibre of graduates being produced by our higher institutions today are already a sad reflection of the kind of leaders we're trying to expunge, so we need to break that circle. Take Ghana for example, a lot of African Americans have been relocating to Ghana in recent times, many have setup new businesses and are creating jobs for the locals, and that's why today Ghana is better for it. Now Twitter, Hyundai and several other major brands are choosing Ghana as the ideal location for siting their regional head offices due to the ease of doing business there. |

dexla: I salute your effort for trying to guide in him early in his professional life. Alot of computer gurus today got introduced to programming at a young age and anybody telling you he's too young has no IT background.
My first introduction was at 11years old with a Vtech computer and I learnt Basic Programming language (I don't know if they still exist). By the time I got to the University, Basic Programming had become obsolete and we were learning C programming as a foundation language. With the background I had in Basic, C was so easy while some of my classmates where still trying to get a hang of it. (If you know one programming laguage, learning other languages would be easy)
Being introduced at at young age will help him align his career and determine early what aspect of IT he wants to focus on or what language he wants to master. I would advise you enrol him in a school, online courses on programming at such a young age isn't encouraging as there are many questions online classes can't answer. There are Bootcamps like Audax, CodeSpark, SPark IT Academy that focus on children, learning with his peers will give him the confidence he needs, and most of these schools provide mentorship programmes that track his progress.
I must also inform you, learning programmng is like learning a new language fom the very basic. If he stops learning too early, he'll forget most of the syntaxes. I would recommend a minimum of 6 months of programming until it becomes a part of him. Most informative comment so far |
