Medical school doesn't teach violence as a means of conflict resolution. Drs are one of those who abhor violence of any sort for any reason because they always have to deal with the aftermath.
The law can never support you hitting anyone because he abused your mother. There is no justification throwing the first blow. Even in cases of self defence, what kind of force did you use? A woman hits you, you give her the first blow and she falls down dazed or even fainted, you have removed the threat to you. Do you still continue throwing more blows? That is no longer self defence.
You may be right about doemestic violence not stopping by human rights groups. Maybe we start preaching to women now that violence is the way forward. If a man lays a hand on you, boil hot oil, when sleeping pour it on him. Or if your husband always beats you, dont leave there. Just get a knife/ or a broken bottle nearby and get ready for the next time. If he should raise his hands next time, break the bottle on his head and stab him because one day one day , you just snapped

My advice to those facing domestic violence is to leave the union when you still have your life intact.
Its either you kill your abuser or be killed.
All the excuses that you gave that a woman who verbally insults you will graduate to slapping you, and then stabbing you doesnt hold water. This woman in question might also have just had enough of her husband's verbal and physical abuse and decided to retalite the way she could.
Do we also encourage wives to start dealing with husbands that throw insults at them? Or you think its only wives that can say hurtful words?

Everyone needs to speak against domestic violence. Whether he was cheating on you, or nagging too much or even insulting your pride and your womanhood please just walk away.
Lets wait for those that will come and tell us the man was nagging too much, or cheating as is the norm when a woman is the victim

Just last week here, a naija hospital told a pregnant lady she will be having a son. The lady got to London and discovered she is having TWINS. Now lets discuss the koko of the matter... Now, for the first hospital that said your friend tested positive, what did you guys do? i guess nothing right? That is the nigerian corruption, laziness and mentality. That hospital might have a bad, defective system or might not even be carrying out comprehensive tests even and someone might commit suicide by that news. So what you and your friend is supposed to do is follow-up, or sue the hospital so that NO ONE EVER experiences what your friend experienced due to negligence, corruption or a defective system. Its not too late, in the meantime, what is the name of the hospital and where is it located?

In conclusion, while trying to settle it amicably, Kalma1 phoned me and threatened me that he is a soldier and that I shouldn't bother to release the fund anymore that he would locate me and arrest me.
At this point, I couldn't bear it anymore. I then concluded that until he found me, I wouldn't release his fund.
That is when he started coming to Nairaland to post the t.h.r.a.s.h when he almost had cardiac arrest.
I later released his fund to him though because I had nothing to do with his money. But he deserves to be taught series of lessons and I hope scammers will teach him.

The story is pathetic, however there are some issues. We were not informed of the specialty of the doctor & the age of the woman.
If the lady had subfertility with ovarian cyst, all the investigations including an HSG should have been done before the surgery.
What was the cause of the subfertility? Probably pelvic inflammatory disease which resulted in the frozen pelvic making it difficult to see the uterus and fallopian tubes. Meaning they were not removed but were buried in the pelvic adhesions. The adhesions must have involved the bowels resulting in intestinal perforation while trying to free them. These are things that can happen during an abdominal surgery. The problem started when the surgeon did only a primary repair of the injured intestine without performing an ileostomy (opening a passage for faeces) to aid in healing of the bowel. During follow up, with the patient now having a distended abdomen he should have know that faeces were collecting in the abdominal cavity. He should have reopened the abdomen or refer the patient to a facility with a general surgeon.
The good thing is that the lady is still alive but her chances of conception is slim.
