The US version in Los Angeles was not funny @all. U can imagine how Nigerians mark their presence! Chaotic and noise as usual. ![]() We were chased from the initial hotel by the management of the hotel, they even called the police. To cut the long story, we were chased from the second, third and forth hotel. But the staff of the Nigerian embassy couldnt organise themselves. |
abadaba:Yes U can ![]() |
pikadily:So U dey admire the same person with me. ![]() I admire her cos She's so unpredictable. |
Some Nigerians are presently asking for his coconut head! It is just so wrong to write in such a hateful and disgusting manner, when you know next to nothing about the country you writing about. |
Now please Nigerians go through this write-up about Nigeria written by a foxsports reporter and comment. The writer, Jamie Trecker claimed to be a senior writer and journalist for foxsports.com for 25years. Now one wonders why a senior writer would mix sports and politics and his aim for doing so. His write-up was so full of so much hate and blunder. Here is his write-up on Nigeria soccer: Nigeria is a kleptocracy that milks the most populous African nation. Oil wealth has made this massive African nation one of the most dangerous, most corrupt, most impoverished and straight-out saddest countries on earth. Despite billions and billions of dollars in annual oil revenue, virtually none of it reaches the general population, instead lining the pockets of one "big man" after another. Adding to the discord is the legacy of colonization and the North-South split in the nation along religious lines: Christians to the North, Muslims to the South. What passes for government in Nigeria is usually an uneasy balance between the two religions. However, since that government seems to exist only to leech off its populace and mineral wealth, it is predictably ineffective. War is a regular occurrence in Nigeria, and drug and arms smuggling have made it an almost-failed state. The only thing that unifies the country is the national football team. And sadly, it reflects its state all too well. The local league is hopelessly corrupt, with games that are routinely fixed. The youth national teams have been successful -- but too often tainted by accusations of cheating. African and some Asian players have routinely lied about their true ages in order to play in the age-eligible competitions, and until FIFA began cracking down on it, Nigeria was known as one of the worst offenders. In fact, prior to the U-17 World Cup that Nigeria hosted last year, FIFA announced it would begin conducting bone scans on all players in an effort to stamp out the practice. The day after, 16 Nigerian players -- half the squad -- dropped out of camp. The sad part about all this is that corruption seems so endemic in Nigerian culture that it threatens to obscure the fact that some Nigerian players are world class. They play a gorgeous, flowing style of soccer when they are on, and some of their players have justifiably become legends, with Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha being two prime examples. Sadly, the team tends to dissolve into pointless squabbles over the usual, venal matters. Bonuses aren’t paid, roster choices are always suspect and being a coach in Nigeria requires a hefty cash deposit up front, because you're not likely to see any more. If Nigeria could get its act together, it could be one of the great footballing powers on the planet. Since it cannot, it won't. LEAGUE OVERVIEW: It's a corrupt mess. See above. . MANAGER: Lars Lagerbeck. The former coach of Sweden quit after that country failed to qualify for the Cup. If he actually makes it to the Cup, it'll be something of a miracle as he's already had one run-in over non-payment, and Nigeria has a habit of firing their foreign coaches on the eve of a major tournament to reward some politically connected local hack. KEY PLAYERS: Kanu, allegedly 33, is still playing in England for Portsmouth. Despite the fact that he may actually be closer to 42, he's going to play. Defender Joseph Yobo (Everton) is very solid as is his counterpart at Bolton, the unfortunately named Danny Shittu. The star is John Obi Mikel (Chelsea), who has been transformed from a foul-prone hothead into one of the better holding midfielders in the game. Yakubu (Aikegbeni; he goes by one name at Everton) and Obafemi Martins (Wolfsburg) are the target men up top, running off the erratic Victor Anichebe (Everton). http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/32countries/story/Nigeria-32-teams-in-32-days |
Everyday was our valentine for almost 6years until I got a text on Vals day(last year) without the usual "I LOVE U". That moment I knew our once sweet r/ship was buried alive. SADDDDD!!!! ![]() |
Really nice to be recognised by the US govt. I 've met a Nigerian who also got a top airforce award in 2008. He's a Chaplain and a Captain in the US airforce. |
What I find amusing is that my cousins(two) are presently in the Nigeria. (17 & 15years old) The eldest is presently writing his SSCE after which He would come to Los Angeles for his degree. They have lived all their lives in Los Angeles and are those kids u call "Oyinbo" The funny aspect is that their parent prefered Lagos but they refused living in Lagos and headed to the east, (their home town) where they attend a boarding school. They speak the igbo language and pidgin English and are very much aquitanted with the tradition (all this within two years) and are very comfortable with their lives. They ve learnt the Nigerian meaning of management, .Their dad is just the middle-class family man and their mom has been the happiest mom ever since the transformation. Rmbr they have never set their foot in Naija since they were kids. And they have been doing great for two years and half. They come and go back after summer vacations, The younger ones here are getting ready for same treatment too, lol. |

Nayah:As the only son, I think sometimes it's difficult to marry outside his tribe. Except He was raised outside the country or his parents are very liberal. He might be real and sure wants to settle down with u but pressure back home might be the "decider". Sit him down and discuss your fears with him. Also try to get closer to his family or atleast take trips to Nigeria with him to know his people. Wish u the best. |

Super Eagles’ gaffer, Lars Lagerback is still analyzing the core of his provisional list and has explained his exclusion of Siena of Italy central defender, Michael Chukwuwike Odibe. Lagerback said in a dialogue with brilafm.net that the defenders at his disposal are better than Odibe, and says it is too early to throw the former First Bank of Lagos kid into the World Cup stage, while predicting that the lad will come in handy for Nigeria in future. “I think in the central defence, we have better players than him and we can keep him for the future. For now, he can develop and grow with his club, where he can get better. “That’s why we didn’t pick him,” said the former national coach of Sweden. Also Nigeria Football Federation technical committee chairman, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi has explained why Michael Eneramo and Femi Ajilore were dropped from the Super Eagles provisional list. Ogunjobi stated in a chat with brilafm.net that Eagles head coach, Lars Lagerback said Eneramo and Yakubu Aiyegbeni are both power strikers and he had to select only one, while noting that Ajilore and Sani Kaita play the same way, but stated that the Russia-based player marks better. “We also asked questions concerning Eneramo, at which he told us catego0rically that Eneramo and Yakubu play the same way. They are both bulky strikers. “He said there is no way he can have two burly strikers in South Africa. He explained that he has seen what Peter Utaka is doing in Denmark , where he is scoring regularly. “He says Peter Utaka has a smaller physique than Yakubu and Eneramo, and could be useful where we need speed and pace. “He says Ajilore and Kaita are playing the same way, but Kaita is marking better. That’s why he picked Kaita,” the former NFA scribe submitted. http://brilafm.net/ |
Jay Jay Okocha has warned Nedum Onuoha against pledging his international future to England rather than Nigeria. Ex-England Under-21 defender Onuoha was turned down a World Cup invite from the Super Eagles. Okocha, who won 75 caps for Nigeria, feels the 23-year-old Manchester City defender could regret his decision. "Playing for Nigeria would have afforded him the chance of [featuring] at the World Cup which attracts better offers for him," Okocha said. "I just hope he won't live to regret that action for the rest of his life," added the former Hull City and Bolton midfielder. "If I were him, I would grab the chance of playing for Nigeria rather than beg for an England shirt." Onuoha was a key player for the England Under-21s two years ago. But he can still switch allegiance as he is yet to play for the England senior side. The defender was not fully committed on a decision on his international future when he spoke to Nigeria manager Lars Lagerback last month forcing the Swede to leave him out his provisional World Cup squad. But the versatile Onuoha has since been overlooked by Fabio Capello as England prepare for their World Cup campaign in South Africa. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/8678911.stm |

am on augustus aikhomu cresent, maitama, only when am home. |
^^^^ or do u want someone who would come out and start talking trash few months before an election. If u r interested in becoming a president of any country, U indicate by starting ur campaigns early not 3-4 months before an election. I dont support IBB, I think I need to hit dis hard into ur skull. |
Katsumoto:Katsumoto What am saying is so simple to comprehend, IBB is getting the whole attention Somebody needs to come out bold and do better than him. Pls and pls, I dont support IBB, get it, |
Katsumoto:Guys, I dont support IBB. Am not his fan or a supporter his motives. BUT. First IBB was in the home state of MKO for a programme sometime ago on OGD invitation and there were large group of people who received him well. Secondly IBB was said to have attended Adenuga's daughter wedding, they were people who made him a first class guest. Thirdly IBB has been going round the country to gather support for his dream project and the press are ever ready to air evrything he does. Now Isnt it the right time for other candidates who also want to be president to the same IBB is doing? You will all see them coming out some few months before election to campaign, that I think is the major reason the masses will buy IBB's idea of becoming the president. The funny aspect is that the people saying IBB shouldn't be president are the elites and probably they are trying to protect their selfish interest rather than the masses. |
simplychic:What the hell? U r simply pathetic |
