I think Goje in Gombe tried as well in terms of infrastructure, at least in Gombe town.
Business › Re: Island Power Project (Lagos) To Generate 10MW by hercules07: 10:41am On May 25, 2011
@nues

The different buildings probably have their transformers now, most big buildings in Nigeria have their own transformers and I am sure they went for 11KV because that is what exists in those premises,
You asked for what will happen to power generated from 6pm onwards, couple of things can happen, they can throttle back their generation or companies that run 24 hours can take power from the station between those hours no be rocket science now.
Christianity Etc › Re: How Many Here Have Read The Bible From Cover To Cover. by hercules07: 9:31am On May 25, 2011
This is the Beaf that I LIKE, not the one that is far up GEJ's ibadi (behind), I always tell friends that I have issues with Nigerian religious leaders, Nigerian Christians and the Bible, apart from that, I love Christianity. I believe Stephen Hawkings believes that there is a god, it is the evolutionary scientist (Dawkings or something) that is an atheist.

Politics › Re: I Don’t Respond To Foolishness, Oritsejafor Replies Buhari by hercules07: 9:07am On May 24, 2011
See Illiterate man asking the President to deduct from the statutory allocations of states, does the man think that Nigeria is GEJ's personal fiefdom? What role has he played in the lives of ordinary christians, I am always wary of Christian leaders who cosy up to political leaders, they are nothing but whores.
Politics › Re: Row Over CBN Clause In Banking Rule - Sanusi Requiring "Sharia-Compliance"!!! by hercules07: 1:14pm On May 23, 2011
@ekt

Apparently you are not in tune with what is happening in Nigeria, the NUC regulates those universities, they provide guidelines that these schools follow, I am sure the NUC has a unit that deals with religious education as some of the seminaries award degrees, infact, the NUC is the CBN of the tertiary educational sector.
Government is not spending money on these banks, they are just regulating them, I am against government spending money on religious grounds, for bailing out private companies, hell, I even believe mosques and churches should be taxed, but, in the case of Sharia banking, I am all for it as it is not going to be funded by the government.
Politics › Re: Row Over CBN Clause In Banking Rule - Sanusi Requiring "Sharia-Compliance"!!! by hercules07: 12:26pm On May 23, 2011
Christian universities abound all over the country and part of their rules is attendance of Christian ceremonies, I am all for religions playing a charitable role in our lives, having interest free banks run by Islamic groups is a good thing, whether they call it Shariah, or Talmud or whatever, it does not matter, the bottom line is they are providing services, you are a yoruba man, we are known for our tolerance of beliefs and culture, you need to find time to be in tune with ur origin, what works in the west might not necessarily work here, we need to be flexible in our ways of doing things. The Red Cross, Red Crescent, missionary schools have all played a good role in our lives, let me tell you a short story, mount olivet high in Oyo state a baptist school was taken over by the state government, after a couple of years, the state government wanted to build a mosque in the school as there was a church there, it was the old students of the school who happened to be muslims that kicked against it insisting that the school had a tradition of being a baptist school and should continue to be so, we should be more concerned of the benefits of that we can derive from this system rather than looking at the name, afterall God and the devil have been known to come to agreements on certain issues.
As per Sanusi leaving, I am sure the guy is fed up with the government of the day, he must be tired of having his monetary policies messed up by a government that is not fiscally aware.
Politics › Re: Row Over CBN Clause In Banking Rule - Sanusi Requiring "Sharia-Compliance"!!! by hercules07: 11:10am On May 23, 2011

Why is it that it is in banking that religion should not be introduced, why not education, is education not regulated by government, are the institutions not even asking for bailout from government, I hope you are aware that in the days of Ibru and Akingbola, they used to hold morning devotion at work? As I said, I am not that religious, but, if adherents of a religion decide that that is the way they want to go and the laws are not being broken, they can go right ahead, it does not infringe on my rights.
GEJ can not sack Sanusi, it is the House that has the power, the thing that I like about Sanusi is that he is not afraid to resign or be sacked. We complain about non implementation of policies, Sanusi is implementing CBN policies we are up in arms.
Politics › Re: Row Over CBN Clause In Banking Rule - Sanusi Requiring "Sharia-Compliance"!!! by hercules07: 9:35am On May 23, 2011
@ekt

The Islamic banking thing was introduced by a Christian when he was the CBN governor, if muslims or other group of people want to bank with a Sharia bank, that is their wahala, I am not religious myself, but, I will not advocate stopping people from owning businesses that cater to the needs of their religion, why do we not have this outcry with religious institutions like schools, most of the private higher institutions are christian and they insist on christian principles and doctrines (attendance of church activities compulsory) thereby alienating people of other religions, we need to learn tolerance in this country, when the Sharia bank opens, I will look at the integrity of those behind and make my decision whether to bank with them or not, what is paramount is that my money is safe and they work with me to grow my business, I care not if they worship Ogun, Sango, Allah or Jesus, that is their wahala.

Alaafin will win, he is a veteran bleacher, even when Akala was still collecting 20 naira, alaafin was already bleaching.
Politics › Re: Row Over CBN Clause In Banking Rule - Sanusi Requiring "Sharia-Compliance"!!! by hercules07: 6:38am On May 23, 2011
These SANs are hypocrites, Islamic banking started under Joseph Sanusi, was also championed by Soludo, now that Sanusi is ready to implement it they are making noise, let them go to the courts, I am very sure they are being instigated by people like ibru and Akingbola, dem dey craze, let christians demand Christian banks, let buddhists demand buddhists banks, bunch of no gooders.

When Buhari was in power there was constant power supply, he also built two refineries, so, in terms of power, Buhari played a creditable role, our issues started with IBB, direct your angers at him.

A couple of issues, what is the net effect of having cement manufactured in the country rather than imported, can Ibeto and others not set up the same thing as Dangote? I also know that Dangote donated money to Jonathan's campaign and Jona must pay back.

Politics › Re: Private Varsities Seek Public Funds by hercules07: 2:38pm On May 22, 2011
I prefer government giving the money as scholarships to students who have very high scores, these students can now decide to attend the private schools, this will help the schools to develop courses that are relevant and also try to attract the brilliant students instead of loaded ones, the government should stop bailing out private enterprises.
Politics › Re: We Need National Monument Named After Chief Akintola by hercules07: 12:26pm On May 22, 2011
I think the SW should name more monuments after him, inasmuch as I did not really like his politics, he was a leader in the West and should be accorded the more honour, maybe a major street in each of the states named after him.

@karl, yeah right, Jonathan came and said let there be light and there was light abi, if you are going to credit Jonathan with the exta 1000MW (that I can not feel), then he will also take the blame for everything PDP has done wrong.

Buhari built two of your refineries, his mandate at PTF was to build infrastructure like roads and so on and he delivered, I suggest you pray for your GEJ to succeed as so far it seems he has not clue.

Akala did the same thing in Oyo state and some people here no Nairaland were happy, well it has come to bite them too in their state, if Rochas has a good rapport with his people, he can explain why they have to put some of the new measures on hold (though I am aware he promised free education)
Politics › Re: Lagos: Why Is The Last Road Bordering The Atlantic Called Ahmadu Bello; Airport, Mmia. by hercules07: 7:17am On May 22, 2011
Poster is just stirring the hornet's nest and bigots are following suit, the FG does not own most of the edifices in lagos, even when it was the capital, it did not own most of the edifices. The main roads are the ones owned by the FG and you can count them on the fingers of your hand. There is no need to rename anything, we also have yoruba figures having things named after them in Northern states by their governors, example is the central park in Bauchi town is named after Muda Lawal, a Yoruba man.

Abeg what concerns APGA with PDP wahala, APGA almost committed suicide by supporting PDP in the presidential elections, if anybody noticed, Fashola had to do extra campaign in Lagos because of the siddon attitude of Tinubu to the Presidential elections.

Nigeria is a violence prone nation, whether in the North or South, it is the same thing, people are killed indiscriminately in this country, be it boko haram, MEND bombs, kidnapping, area boys, violence is violence and should be condemned, where is GEJ to give us security.

When I went to Uyo, no other politician was allowed a bill board, the ACN one I saw was draped on the ACN guy's house, if not for Attah's greed and stubborn nature, Akwa Ibom would not have been saddled with him.
Christianity Etc › Re: This Is Not Another Pastor Bashing Thread! by hercules07: 5:48pm On May 21, 2011
Nigerian Christians are funny, they give because of what they expect in return, why cant people give because they just want to give not because of what was promised in the bible. Nigerian Christian leaders are in it for their pockets, they have failed in their primary responsibilities. I do not blame them sha, it is the mugus that drop pay that should be blamed.
Politics › Re: Is It Not Better That Military Should Take Over Power. Election Was Rigged by hercules07: 5:44pm On May 21, 2011
@Knowall

Out of all the despicable military regimes we have had, the one that instilled discipline, stopped corruption and had the lowest rate of inflation was the one you had to cite, let me tell you something, the military boys and politicians of those era are like school boys compared to the politicians of today when it comes to stealing.
We do not need any military rule now in Nigeria because it will serve no good purpose, the khaki boys have had their eyes opened to greater corruption and will run the country down if they take over, we just need to go like windmills of the gods that grind slowly, surely we will get to the promised land.

They will appeal the ruling, it might take 5 to 10 years for the case to be properly disposed, by then if she wins, she will be placed on leave and from there asked to retire, the woman was complicit in a lot of the underhand dealings at the stock exchange. If she finally wins sha, our public officers should take legal advice before taking decisions that might have repercussions, where are they going to get the money to pay her?

How much is Lagos state collecting from the Federation account, how many people are employed by the state government, what projects are being embarked on by the state, abeg go and sit down jare, do you think infrastructure is done with sand?
I do not think you know Oyo state very well, my old man is from that state, Akala has done NOTHING, why will he borrow when he did not do anything, I did my masters in UI for two years, the bleaching governor did nothing, imagine you bringing up Akala in a discussion on Lagos, please go and sit down somewhere, you are a Fashola hater.
