HallaDaTruth:I don't think ABUAD has a Senate building. |
Mrbigman1:Don't you know your way to Ministry of Education? Or was I the one you voted for? When you see Adamu Adamu and Rasheed you can raise your objections to them rather than raving at a total stranger. |

People that have no use in life would continue to talk senselessly. The Oyedepo you talk about has 23,000 people in his employment in Nigeria alone. Even when you write a good CV, cover letter blah blah blah you still need favour or connection to get a job in Nigeria. Now if you don't know no king or politician who else would you look up to for help? Yes God. Oyedepo and his church has done his own bit by teaching people on employability during workshops and seminars. He has now crowned it all by creating a church program dedicated to employment and this two gutter filled beings have nothing positive to say that throw insults like the latte-sipping idiots that they are. |
TheVictorious I think its important that individual persons should be made accountable for their misdeeds in CU, because if care isn't taken something worse would happen on that campus that could truly disable the university. Many workers at the Student Affairs are too selfish to be concerned about how their barbaric actions portrays on the university and are officially covered by the university brand. But by specifically calling out these erring staff at CU I hope there would be reluctance on the side of any staff to do something that could potentially put him/her in negative light. |
NwaAmaikpe:What is wrong with this level of hair? I hope all is well with you. Already, no university in this country can boast of a more well dressed student community as CU and the likes. Therefore the DSA shaved their heads for a very different reason. The shaving was definitely out of spite and not a result of non conformance to dress code. And he unfortunately carried out his spiteful action in addition to putting the students at risk. I have discovered that when you drag Covenant as an institution only folks in the Alumni, Student community would suffer for it. Therefore let this man carry his own cross so next time the next DSA would seriously think before doing something that could potentially destroy his career.

Face Of The Man Who Ordered The Forceful Shaving Of Covenant University Students To help the Nigerian education sector grow, it is important that we call out individuals who oppress in the system. Calling out universities and individuals won't always cut it, as there are usually faces behind every oppressive regime - it is important that those oppressive faces are called out, shamed and sanctioned appropriately. Following the revelations of the disgraceful and unfortunate incidence where student were forcefully shaved, other Nigerian students from other universities have come out to tell their stories of oppression in their various universities. But unfortunately calling out the universities is not enough but doing so and publicly shaming individuals involved in such despicable act through the power of social media. The CU management has denied ever giving this individual the authority to carry out that despicable punishment of shaving students hair. This is Dr. Timothy Aneke the Dean Of Student Affairs of Covenant university who instructed the forceful shaving of students hair with an unsterilized clipper. He is a graduate of University Of Uyo(BSc), University of Ibadan(MSc) and Covenant University (PhD) and a former staff of Igbinedion University.

SammieJayh:Have you bought your Post Jamb form? |
I wouldn't mind if the tear can split northern and southern Nigeria. ![]() |
SammieJayh:Pls don't mind that guy o. There is no way CU could have admitted a student with less than 210 in the minimum for engineering in the past few years....... |
I'm no longer very hopeful about the creation of religious-themed universities. Congratulations nonetheless. Lalasticlala |
The overzealousness is really coming from the staff and not necessarily the church. Lalasticlala |

writerights:I just think that our brand of Christianity in Nigeria is very loveless and strange. And I am beginning to see and get tired of it myself. The privileges and goodwill the early missionaries enjoyed due to their selflessness and love is being eroded today by several misdeeds of the Nigerian church. That lack of self regulation has put members constantly on defense either trying to defend the pastors, schools or the church as a whole. I remembered how one of my friends who had to drop out of Covenant for academic reasons promised not to go to church again, since according to him all the services he has attended compulsorily in CU was going to compensate for a life of no more church. He left for Canada to continue schooling. But I doubt the guy has ever stepped into church ever since... Covenant is not the first Christian school so they should calm down abeg. Yonsei is one of the three most reputable universities in South Korea and is a Christian university but the school focuses on sharing, community service and volunteering... How about CU starts focusing on love and tolerance too, because Christianity without love is unrecognizable. |
writerights:Let Dangote finish his school first then that keg of gunpowder would be like an IED. They should try clamping social media - do you think anyone would go? Because you would have to drag with chains to a university where social media is prohibited. |
SammieJayh:Thank you. I'm sure they are already feeling the tweetstorm though. |
CodeTemplar:I have seen the video myself. This time around Covenant would be taught an important lesson. I know someone has forwarded the video to Webometrics, Times Higher and the international red cross and so they can exclude Covenant from subsequent rankings as protest for this kind of behavior. The President of Webometrics just confirmed an hour ago that he received such video though he recommended the students get "local authorities" involved. Covenant offers excellent academic education but we must call out every nonsensical behaviour in the school. |
Covenant University's Track Record Of Abuse And The Irresponsibility Of National Universities Commission Covenant University today has become the epitome of religious oppression, mockery and is proof of how terrible the Nigerian educational space can get if not well regulated. Today we witnessed possibly hundreds of the so called "Kings and Queens of Hebron" having their hair scrapped to humiliate and shame them for not bringing bibles to Church. Worse still, is that the instrument used in scrapping the hair of possibly hundreds of students was not safe as they use it on students after students without visibly sterilizing it. It saddens me that an institution with so much potential to become one of Africa's best universities has decided to go this path of oppression and senselessness and the National Universities Commission is complicit in allowing this evil happen unchecked, by failing to protect the rights of Nigerian students or creating regulations preventing them from oppressing students. The irresponsibility of NUC not only shows in their lack of desire to protect students of private universities but even students of public universities who have also been subjected to ridiculous treatments in their universities As a nation we've failed our people in the public education system and we are equally failing our people in the private educational system. We've failed to check the educational activities of our religious organizations not minding the oppression and sometimes, indoctrination that happens silently in those organizations. We've made higher education an all comers affair without putting in regulations binding church or islamic universities from doing just as they like. I hope we would not wake up someday to realise an entire segment of the population of the country indoctrinated thanks to our nonchalance. It is time for NUC to do better by creating a comprehensive guideline for Private universities which would prevent students from being forced to go to chapel or mosques, attend prayers or unofficial meetings and equally scrutinize the handbooks of all universities making sure it doesn't violate the constitutional rights of students. For purpose of emphasis and clarity there is no section of Covenant University's handbook of 2013-2017 where it is written that students hair can be scrapped with an unsterilized equipment because students refused to bring bibles to church. This is also a wakeup call to students of Covenant university to challenge Covenant over their non constitutional behavior in a federal high court over the public health risks they were subjected to by Covenant University. Freeze is nothing but a conflict entrepreneur. His brain is largely vestigial and only useful to the extent of condemning pastors and the church. But the didinrin does not understand that the more you continue to beat this issue the more people become allergic to your campaign. Go and learn work from those who were professionals at slandering pastors like Alexander Dowie or Woodworth Ether of the 1800s and study how their lives ended. A man has shared his testimony which possibly involves several individuals and hospitals; doctors, nurses, families, friends. The man who shared the testimony himself is not hiding anywhere. If you doubt the testimony you can go make your investigations and then come online with your findings rather than spewing your usual garbage from a virus infected brain. And no, even the apostles raised some people from the dead but could not raise everyone that died.... |
