UI is blaming it on the fact that ppl from that set were admitted without post ume. Apparently UI now believes that jamb isn't credible to be an exclusive source for ranking students. Lalasticlala |
Aba peeps be like: I'm walking in power, I'm walking in oracle, I leave my rice for Favour, Cause i know Umuahia.... |
All excuses emanating from inefficiency and nonchalance. People should not use jamb as an excuse. Did Covenant, Kwasu not do jamb? How come Kwasu matriculated 100level students of 2017/2018 session in november 2017. How come covenant matriculated students at October 2017. Is it not the same jamb regulation that governs Kwasu that governs Unilorin ![]() |
emmyw:Unirank or 4icu is a ranking of universities according to how many people clicks the website of those universities. You would do well to disregard the rankings as it has no bearing on the quality of a university in anyway... There is absolutely NO NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY that comes even remotely close to University of Ibadan in academics with the exception of UNN and Covenant. And I am talking as someone who has deep knowledge of SCOPUS, Research gate, WoS, Google Scholar and Thomson Reuters and I can assure you that any ranking in Nigeria that does not place those three to be top of any academic ranking must be a complete pile of trash. You may do well to rely on webometrics because it is an academic ranking but the ultimate ranking system is ARWU, THE and QS. However in the area of available academic facilities UI would be the only public university that would/might manage into top 5. The remaining position would be filled by private unis like covenant, AUN, PAU, ABUAD. However what UI lacks in some facilities it made up with in a good human resource base. UI still produces and retains academics like Gureje Oye who are well rated globally. NB: I am not affiliated to UI in any shape or form. Just saying the truth. |
profolaolu:Are you Christlike? |
Christianity is an amazing faith. Sometimes you may have to show grace to the one that curses and the one that was cursed. Many Christians are a work in progress so never be dissapointed about the actions of any Christian. Christianity is all about a call of love from the savior. So be it pastor, reverend, bishop, apostle we are not perfect so don't draw your impression of Christianity from us. Rather draw it from the pure, good and perfect High Priest, Jesus Christ. |
CodeTemplar:Yes you are so right. CU, Landmark, PAU and even OAU were built with meaningful architecture tho. The problem of OAU was just lack of maintenance. Watch out for Dangote's university though. There is also a university in Tinapa to watch out for(Beni American University). |
We all should ensure that all south western states including kwara benefits from Lagos. I have been thinking of this for a while and it is very doable. Ogun, Ondo inevitably would benefit from Lagos but serious work should be done to ensure the south west is economically borderless. This would see huge development move up into northern south west, while allowing Lagos population to potentially reduce. |
IdeyFindWife:Yea it is good to see Christianity thriving in South Korea. Most of all the Underground missionaries invading North Korea and China and sending tract-attached balloons are from South Korea... |

genghiskhan007:Did they claim they want to overtake Covenant? Secondly, between bells and Igbinedion which would you recommend? |
Seun Lalasticlala Mynd44 i was busy trying to create a thread on the education segment(yonsei university in pictures). Yonsei University is one of those universities that makes me proud of being a Christian. Apart from the scholarships and excellence, it is one of those universities that has doggedly rooted herself in her christian identity. Yonsei is regarded as one of the most highly research intensive universities in all of Asia and is amongst the SKY group of South Korean universities. The SKY group includes the three most prestigious universities in South Korea; University of Seoul, Kaist Institute of Tech and Yonsei. Yonsei was founded by Missionaries from USA in 1885 Ladies and Gentlemen I present you Yonsei. Lalasticlala DesyNer

"Kudos, the concern is that, the time will come when this is generally accepted, the need for first and second or even third service will arise in the Saturday, then, people by the reason of excuses or non, resolved to attending this Saturday services. Gradually, at the offices or work place your attention will be called for on Sunday by assuming you have option to attend service on Saturday. It will become a norm and the government (who are not born again) will make Sunday part of Official days of the week. Already Saturday is an official day for some. Then the time for spiritual thing has further given to the circular. Just like importing an idea from western world to africa, it is good if consider the difference in psychological development of both worlds. Just an opinion. I'm indifferent." |
At least we can all agree that Islam is a problem to everyone.. |

Well there is no part of the Bible where it explicitly says Christians must worship on sundays. Just like white weddings, easter, christmas. Sunday worship was an invention of the Church which has now become acceptable christian tradition. I'm of the opinion that the church is free to do as it likes as regards issues like celebrations(easter, christmas), day of worship without looking for biblical correlation since those activities were founded by the Church post bible era... |
Daystar Begins Saturday Worship Services The Pastor Sam Adeyemi founded Daystar Christian Centre will begin Saturday worship services at her Church facility at PLOT A3C Ikosi Road, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. The church announced this in a statement signed by Kenny Folarin, chief operating officer at Daystar Christian Centre. Folarin said the service would hold between 6pm and 7.15pm. “In a mega-city like Lagos, where many people would love to be in church on Sundays but for unusual schedules and work demands, our Saturday worship service offers that unique privilege to worship God while you attend to work or other things on Sunday,” the statement read. “For our regular and prospective members, this also presents the opportunity for easy parking space which may be an issue on an average Sunday worship service. In God’s presence, all days are the same with His favours and blessings. Our worship services are value-adding, life-changing, transforming. “This Saturday worship service would be in addition to our normal Sunday worship services; 7am, 8.45am, 10.30am and 12.15pm. Worshippers can now have options of attending based on their schedules and preferences.” The church said its mission of raising role models in the society is achieved through “visible transformation in your lives, business and families”. It is however not clear if the Daystar facility recently opened in Lekki, Lagos in 2017 will also hold Saturday services. The Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC) Gbagada, Lagos pastored by Bolaji Idowu began the trend of having alternate services on Saturday in Lagos. The Seventh Day Adventist Church however holds her worship services only on Saturday in commemoration of the sabbath. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1311049065705628&id=444807728996437

doyinbaby:Andrew Womack, Joseph prince and Hagin had both clarified decades ago that the there isn't a curse against anyone who didn't pay the tithe. However they both still supported the collection of the tithe. For me if the leadership of the church wants the tithe as a form of offering there is absolutely no problem. We should simply remove the curse part because by principle of dispensationalism you can't apply Malachi to defend the curse on not paying tithe. But God still wants us to support the church. Christianity has it is has a wider mandate than Judaism of old and requires even more than the tithe which the early church gave - the early church gave blood and sweat yet the church wasn't saddled with the responsibilities of providing free education or healthcare as people of today clamour for. But today there are churches venturing into many of these things and they require money to sustain it. If you don't want to see initiatives like the ECWA Teaching Hospital, Covenant university, Babcock, Orphanages, elderly homes and co crashing down alongside the Church's core missions then you wouldn't talk to much about cutting the funding sources of the church. |
What sort of foolishness is this. Are we still such a ruler-worship society in 2018! If the president is here for a visit. Let him go about his f*ckin business without hindering everyone else. Bullshit! |
Nice one. Lalasticlala |
You don't know yourself enough as God knows you. He created you and knows what you can or can't do |
Saying "from offerings and Tithe" is quite unnecessary. You can be rest assured that when Leah is released. All manner of churches and politicians would queue to give her scholarships here in Nigeria. That's if some wealthy christian organization or individuals don't send her and her parents out of the country like the 12 year old Pakistani Christian who was arrested some years ago. Who was later relocated to Canada. Whatever the case I hope we are not using her as a tool to better our public image. Plus openly offering her scholarship may not better her case with Book Haram right now. Nice gesture from opm tho. Lalasticlala |
Smh so iroko left the culprit and went after soft targets. Lol Africa! Lalasticlala |
PastorandMentor:For your mind now you've spoken sense. If Abioye broke away from Living Faith, his ministry would still be so successful that he would able to afford buying a jet - if he ever wants to. |
